The Best Of Sade (Awaiting Repress)By the time this was released in 1994, something unexpected happened. Sade's early work became classic and the later additions boasted even better vocals and songs that nicely improved on the theme. The timeless sound and class always exhibited makes Sade Adu and her band a no-brainer for an appealing compilation.
Like Al Green's Greatest Hits, The Best of Sade doesn't detract from the original albums and is a marker of time, not the end of the act. The ice-princess demeanor and detached vocals worked perfectly for the mid-'80s singles and radio samples Smooth Operator and Your Love Is King. The tracks from the make-or-break second album, Promise, seem less dolorous propped up and sequenced for a compilation. The sensual-to-a-fault The Sweetest Taboo and Never As Good As the First Time both retain their strength here. This set also includes tracks from Sade's comeback CD, Love Deluxe, including Kiss of Life and No Ordinary Love.
As a bonus, The Best of Sade also includes a rare cover of Please Send Me Someone to Love from the Philadelphia soundtrack.LP 1

'Lovers Rock' is the 5th studio album by the English singer Sade (born Helen Folasade Adu), released on 14 November 2000 by Epic Records. The album reached number eighteen on the UK Albums Chart and number 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200. it has since been certified triple platinum by the RIAA. 'Lovers Rock' earned Sade the Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album. She is the most successful solo female artist in the UK, having sold over 50 million albums.
From the early 80's on Sade and her band produced a string of hit albums, from debut album Diamond Life in 1984 up to Lovers Rock in 2000 (a new album is released in February 2010). Changing a winning team never was a good plan and Sade, accompanied by longtime associates Stuart Matthewman, Andrew Hale and Paul Denman, managed to deliver an elegant, smooth-yet-not-too-slick-sounding album. Pioneering the Nu Soul genre roughly 10 years before her US colleagues, Sade is definitely one of a kind!
Worthy of a 10th anniversary audiophile pressing, we gave 'Lovers Rock' the 180 grams vinyl treatment, for your aural pleasure!Side A

Soldier Of LoveImport
Music On Vinyl has already released two classic Sade albums; 1992's Love Deluxe and Lovers Rock from 2000, so it only makes sense to release their latest album Soldier Of Love from 2010.
This album is again filled with minimal arrangements that encapsulate Sade Adu's fragile singing, and yet there is a strength that shines through her voice that we haven't seen from her for a while. The album is filled with love, hurt, and abandonment, but there is an anger and a defiance here that we haven't seen before. Sade's lyrics are, as ever, poetic, demand our attention, and are a lot darker than we're used to.
This was Sade's first album with original work in 10 years, and was much anticipated by press and public alike. Luckily for us, in the words of fellow Neo-Soul singer Maxwell: it's so monolithic it'll shake you in your shoes!

UNIM-BLU-6715xRobert Glasper Experiment
Black RadioThe Robert Glasper Experiment's Blue Note Records/EMI release Black Radio is a future landmark recording that boldly stakes out new musical territory and transcends any notion of genre, drawing from jazz hip-hop, R&B and rock, but refusing to be pinned down by any one tag.
The first full-length album from the Grammy-nominated keyboardist's electric Experiment band (Casey Benjamin/sax & vocoderist, Derrick Hodge/bass and Chris Dave/drummer) also features many of Glasper's famous friends from the spectrum of urban music, seamlessly incorporating appearances from a jaw-dropping roll call of special guests including Erykah Badu, Bilal, Lupe Fiasco, Lalah Hathaway, Shafiq Husayn, KING, Ledisi, Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, Meshell Ndegeocello, Stokley Williams and Mos Def.
Throughout, the Experiment wears its eclecticism on its sleeve, presenting new collaborative originals and surprising cover songs. They transform the Afro-Cuban standard Afro Blue with Badu, Sade's Cherish The Day with Hathaway, David Bowie's Letter to Hermione with Bilal and Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit with Benjamin's vocoder vocal.1. Sade is back!
2010's Soldier Of Love proved her to be the queen of British NuSoul, and now Music On Vinyl is re-releasing one of her other gems: Love Deluxe. The album, recorded in 1992, proves how far ahead she was of her American counterparts Angie Stone and Erykah Badu. Her calm, oh-so-cool and yet fragile vocals are reinforced by the minimal arrangements, so we are able to focus on her engaging lyrics filled with love, heartbreak and compassion.
Love Deluxe will be released on high standard 180 grams audiophile vinyl, and includes Grammy-winning 'No Ordinary Love' and hit-single 'Cherish The Day'.

Fresh Air (Out Of Stock)Born in the bleak isolation of the secluded prairie city of Edmonton, Canada, Homeshake's Peter Sagar worked with friends in a number of local bands before picking up and moving to Montreal in 2011 to begin recording under the Homeshake moniker. Following two self-released cassettes (The Homeshake Tapes and Dynamic Meditation) and two acclaimed full-lengths (In The Shower and Midnight Snack), Sagar cracks a window open with his third album for Sinderlyn - Fresh Air.
Started immediately following the recording of Midnight Snack, Fresh Air continues Sagar's exploration of dreamy, downtempo bedroom R&B and draws inspiration from such disparate artists like Sade, The Band, Broadcast, Prince, and Angelo Badalamenti. As the title Fresh Air suggests, Sagar's songs were created to clear his listeners' minds of negativity. Full of smoky, laid back love songs and airy productions, Sagar's decidedly stoned sound is a breath of fresh air.1. Hello Welcome
