You're Gonna Miss It AllPhiladelphia's Modern Baseball are a uniquely contemporary band. Their
quirky, tuneful songs convey how it feels to be young and hopeless in modern
America-a cracked cellphone clutched in one's hand, subconsciously refreshing
social media, hoping to get noticed by that girl at the party and ignored by
the ghosts from high school past. Calling on Say Anything's bravado, the Front
Bottoms' tongue-in-cheek quirk and the Weakerthans' literary misery, Modern
Baseball have made a record with remarkable depth and relate-ability.

Say AnythingLos Angeles rock band Say Anything's new self-titled, 12-song collection was produced by veteran producer/mixer/engineer Neal Avron, who has also worked with Weezer, The Wallflowers, Fall Out Boy, and Everclear, among others. The band, which is frontman Max Bemis, drummer Coby Linder, bassist Alex Kent, guitarists Jake Turner and Jeff Turner, and keyboardist Parker Case, recorded it in early 2009 at the Boat Studio in Los Angeles.
Say Anything is the first studio album from the band since its critically acclaimed 2007 In Defense of the Genre release, which Entertainment Weekly praised as an ambitious artistic statement and the Alternative Press called an opus that musicians more than twice Bemis age could only hope to create. Say Anything exploded onto the music scene with their 2004 Doghouse Records debut Is A Real Boy, which told the ultimate coming-of-age story in a swirling storm of sex, drugs, angst, and gut-wrenchingly honest rock & roll.1. If AnythingIf Anything, the rst full-length by Greys, is the young quartet's
own warped update of vintage post-punk; frenetic guitars
running against walls of noise, held together by sharp strands of
melody. Emerging from the vibrant Toronto punk scene, Greys
are economical in their swift punches of noise, anchoring short
bursts of mania with huge choruses. Each song exists in its own
space and represents different aspects of the things we like
about noisy, dissonant music," says singer/guitarist Shehzaad
Jiwani. "But instead of being built solely around riffs, they were
built with hooks in mind, too.
The 35-minute LP pulses with a manic urgency, as drummer
Braeden Craig and bassist Colin Gillespie's syncopated rhythms
punctuate guitarist Cam Graham's smothering dissonance.
Through exasperated shouts, Jiwani lets loose the fury that splits
open his songwriting. The lyrics went from outward frustration to
inward, he says. A lot of it takes place from within my own
head. Swinging between hard-driving punk and '90s indie
rifng, the respites on If Anything only underscore Greys' brute
force and anthemic inclinations.

Anarchy My Dear (Awaiting Repress)Say Anything has been making odd, unclassifiable indie-rock music since they were teenagers, playing strangely literate and loud rock, characterized by what one might imagine if Larry David fronted a Fugazi cover band with the members of Queen. Having been birthed from the indie/punk boom of the early 21st century, Say Anything rose to prominence with 2004's ...Is A Real Boy and broke the pretty boy punk mold with 2007's equally eclectic and lengthy In Defense of the Genre and their exceedingly unruly 2009 self-titled release. Mother's Milk1989's Mother's Milk is the album that broke the Red Hot Chili Peppers into the rock mainstream. Despite suffering the loss of drummer Jack Irons and guitarist Hillel Slovak a year earlier, founding members Anthony Kiedis and Flea found exceptional replacements in Chad Smith and John Frusciante. A cover of Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground and a tribute to Slovak, Knock Me Down, were both big MTV successes, as were such other highlights as Taste the Pain (featured prominently in the movie Say Anything), Good Time Boys, Subway to Venus, Magic Johnson and Sexy Mexican Maid.

The album was self-recorded and self-produced in their home studio in Tyler, TX - the band's first time recording completely independently, which proved to be a rejuvinating and rewarding process.
The new album sees Eisley's signature tapestry of rich harmonies, delicately woven over the band's most intricate instrumentations yet. The relaxed, creative setting also allowed for the band's most collaborative effort to date, seeing more prominent bass and guitar lines than ever before, a song written and sung by lead guitarist Chauntelle DuPree-D'Agostino (her first ever full-song solo lead vocal performance), and guest performances from Merriment and Say Anything's Max Bemis.
"Currents is honestly the first time we've had total and complete free reign over the making of one of our records and it felt so liberating. We were able to dig deeper musically; There are lusher arrangements and more abstract themes. I feel like we really were able to experiment this time in the studio while still enjoying doing what we love which is essentially writing pop songs," explains vocalist/guitarist Sherri DuPree-Bemis.
"I think our fans have always appreciated that Eisley doesn't sound exactly like every other band and I think we've succeeded in taking that element a bit further on this record. We're more confident as a band than we have ever been. I think the people that have always loved the darker, whimsical side of our sound will be very pleased with the songs on this record while the people who have enjoyed what's melodic, simple and sweet about Eisley will be quite pleased as well. The title Currents, to me, is relevant to how we feel as a band at this point in our career. The current is constantly moving and flowing no matter what and that's what we've always done together and plan to keep doing."1. Currents

OST Of The Brand New 2016 Movie, Featuring Hailee Steinfeld & Woody Harrelson
Great Tracks By Santigold, Anderson Paak, Two Door Cinema Club, Aimee Mann, Miike Snow, Handsome Poets, Phantogram, Angus & Julia Stone, Birdy A.O.
The Edge of Seventeen is a new coming-of-age movie in the vein of Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club - an honest, candid, often hilarious look at what it's like to grow up as a young woman in today's modern world.
Everyone knows that growing up is hard, and life is no easier for high school junior Nadine (Hailee Steinfeld), who is already at peak awkwardness when her all-star older brother Darian starts dating her best friend Krista. All at once, Nadine feels more alone than ever, until the unexpected friendship of a thoughtful boy gives her a glimmer of hope that things just might not be so terrible after all.
The Edge of Seventeen marks the feature directorial debut of writer-director Kelly Fremon Craig, and is produced by Academy Award® winner James L. Brooks - the filmmaker behind big-screen, character-driven classics such as Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, Big, Say Anything, The Simpsons, Jerry Maguire and As Good as It Gets.
The film is getting plenty of comparisons to the John Hughes' The Breakfast Club, but it's mostly modern soundtrack helps set it apart from those 80s classics: Santigold's new rollicking Who I Thought You Were, a standout off this year's 99¢, opens the movie and a pivotal party scene is filled with tracks by festival favorites like Two Door Cinema Club and Anderson .Paak.
Furthermore the soundtrack of the film features a hearty and exciting mix of talents as diverse as Aimee Mann, Phantogram, Birdy, Handsome Poets, Miike Snow and others.LP 1

Stubborn Persistent IllusionsPressed On 2x 180-Gram Vinyl
Etching On Side 4 (No Music)
Includes 12 x 24 Art Print Poster
Do Make Say Think has been widely celebrated as one of the preeminent
instrumental rock bands of the 90s-00s. Stubborn Persistent Illusions is the
group's first album in eight years - and a stellar addition to one of the most
consistent, inventive, exuberant, satisfying, and critically acclaimed discographies
in the 'post-rock' canon.
Following Other Truths (2009), the five members of DMST pursued other creative
projects, while all continuing to stay firmly rooted in Toronto. An invite from
Heartland Festival and Constellation to play the label's 15th Anniversary shows in
Europe in fall 2012 brought DMST back to the stage in very fine form - the band
worked up a bevy of gems from their catalogue and absolutely killed live. A
rekindling was sparked, leading to new writing and recording sessions
throughout 2014-2016. Overdubbing, 'underdubbing', gestating and mixing
was helmed by band members Ohad Benchetrit, Charles Spearin and Justin
Small at Ohad's studio th'Schvitz: Stubborn Persistent Illusions is a reminder and
continuation of the group's DIY ethos, and the integral role played by their
singular self-production acumen and aesthetic.
Do Make Say Think has a well-earned reputation for imbuing their instrumental
music with soulful and emotive narrative power that doesn't rely on obvious
tropes or bombastic dynamics. Among the band's special strengths is an ineffable
naturalism that avoids anything too woolly, proggy, purist or clichÉd, while
remaining a fundamentally guitar-driven group whose ornate four- and six-string
interplay balances rockism, pastoralism and electronic-influenced postproduction
in a class of its own. Stubborn Persistent Illusions is built from this
distinctive toolkit, at once familiar and as fresh as anything DMST has committed
to tape. A short Bhuddist poem about boundlessness and recurrence informs this
profoundly imagistic listening experience, amplified by the beautiful
commissioned paintings of the deluxe gatefold album art.
Stubborn Persistent Illusions testifies to the idea that an honest conviction in the
communicative power of cerebral instrumental rock need not imply pretension,
escapism, faux naivetÉ or nostalgia. Do Make Say Think enter their third decade
with a new album that helps reaffirm the promise of genuinely emotive,
narrative, restorative and life-affirming instrumental rock music - and will surely
rank among their best. Thanks for listening.1. War On Torpor

FollowersKnown for their heart-stirring lyrics and chart-topping hit songs, Tenth Avenue North delivers once again with their brand new album, Followers. Lead singer, Mike Donehey, explains the album title saying, "When I search the gospels, I cannot find one place where Jesus asks anyone to be a leader. In fact, He doesn't even consider Himself a leader. He says, 'I don't do anything of my own accord. I just do what I see my Father in Heaven doing.' So if that's the case, there's one leader, and we're all followers." GospelDetroits Fireworks return with the Brian McTernan-produced full-length Gospel on Triple Crown Records. Since the release of their debut full length, All I Have To Offer Is My Own Confusion in 2009, the band has toured the world relentlessly with the likes of New Found Glory, Set Your Goals, Saves The Day, Hit The Lights and a successful headline tour in the fall of 10. The band has also made appearances on the Warped Tour, Bamboozle and a number of other festivals.
In speaking on the new album, guitarist Chris Mojan says, Gospel represents Fireworks better than anything we've done in the past. Here I AmMarquise Knox is a once-in-a-generation type of talent. And, man, are traditional blues lovers lucky he's decided to pursue straight-up real blues. Marquise has the voice, the songwriting talent, the guitar chops, the showmanship and the determination to very likely be a success in any number of styles of music. But for Marquise, it's nothing but the blues. Not the guitar hero, pyrotechnic licks blues. Not the gimmicky, tired, Sweet Home Chicago meets Mustang Sally predictable blues. No, Marquise almost seems to be literally channeling the certain-something energies and nuances of a Howlin' Wolf or Muddy Waters or Lightnin' Hopkins. In fact, when you listen to Marquise - 19 years old when he recorded this title - you get the sense that this is what those masters must have sounded like as young men. Marquise's blues are so transparent and bare. It's so easy to feel his music as totally legitimate. That's above all what makes it so appealing. That's what makes Marquise Knox special. He's the whole package. A throwback blues master on the rise. Anybody believe in reincarnation?
As you'd expect from somebody still so young, Marquise's talents have matured immeasurably since his 2009 APO debut, Man Child, recorded when he was 16. And that was a really good record. On Man Child, Marquise shared the guitar duties with Michael Burks, a fiercely explosive and powerful guitarist. For his new record, Marquise doesn't need the guitar help, and Here I Am doesn't want for even a little power and punch. Marquise's guitar skills have improved tenfold. Seriously. And his voice is, well, three years richer. To say that this record sounds unlike anything any other 19 year old is releasing in 2011 is indisputable. To say that it may be unlike anything anybody is releasing in 2011 might also be true.
When Man Child hit the market in 2009, blues lovers freaked out partly because of how young Marquise was to be sounding like such an aged veteran. Well, he's still awfully young, but this time around, the focus ought to be entirely on just how incredible a bluesman Marquise Knox is, age aside.

Where Were You Then?Further was a decidedly west coast indie rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1991 by brothers Darren and Brent Rademaker, Josh Schwartz and Kevin Fitzgerald. The Rademaker brothers along with Josh went on to form Beachwood Sparks and The Tyde respectively, Kevin Fitzgerald became the drummer for the Circle Jerks and the west coast lo-fi California indie rock sound actually became a thing with the kids. Overdosing on Weed, Surfing and Dinosaur Jrs You're Living All Over Me as well as flat out turning down major label offers, Further was fuelled by DIY spirit and their music tested the boundaries from the lowest of fidelity to the indie-est of rock...with re-leases on Bongload Records (home of Beck's Loser 12), their own Christmas Records, Ball Product (Creation Records), Fierce Panda and many more. Further received acclaim from the UK press including a 9 out of 10 review in the NME as well as Peel Session from long time fan John Peel. Further were a permanent fixtures on the LA indie scene where they shared bills with eve-ryone from the likes of Pavement, Beck, Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, Royal Trux, Urge Overkill, Archers of Loaf, Codiene...real indie-rock, you get the picture? Out Of The Garden180-Gram Clear Teal Vinyl
Out of the Garden is a mission statement that underscores the
"power" in power-pop and is punctuated by lyrics as razor-sharp as
Written over a two-year period during a break from touring,
the album's emphasis on re-defining feminine expectations was
shaped by primary songwriter Jess Abbott's experiences living in
Minneapolis and working at a liquor store in a rough part of town.
"I learned how to speak up when I needed to and how to truly be
myself without reservation," Abbott recalls. "I felt afraid walking
home at night, and after a couple of months I just got sick of it and
started getting into self-defense and self-empowerment as a means
of coping. Finding my own strength changed everything."
After writing and tracking every song in her apartment, Abbott (also
of beloved Minneapolis trio Now, Now) enlisted Kevin Medina and
Terrence Vitali to add drums and bass to her demos. The band then
traveled to LA to record with OFF! bassist Steven McDonald and
That Dog vocalist/guitarist Anna Waronker.
Abbott's fearlessness to discuss personal topics is referenced in
the album's title, an allusion to exiting Eden and leaving behind all
the restrictive cultural norms engrained in the Biblical "paradise":
tradition, purity, holiness, binary gender, heterosexuality, and the idea
that anything is forbidden (especially for women).
Says Abbott, "Out of the Garden represents doing what you want,
what you need, without letting anything or anyone stop you - and
smiling while you do it."1. Bed Case

Summer SkinSummer Skin, the new album from Amy Cook is set for release on Roothouse Records/Thirty Tigers. The 12-songs on Summer Skin feature an all-star band, special cameos and Cook's strongest songwriting and recording to date. Cook successfully achieves the perfect balance between intelligent, thoughtful singer/songwriter and strong rock chick. Rolling Stone desribes Cook as "a brassier, dusty Deborah Harry."
Summer Skin represents a new plateau for Cook as an artist. "This is the happiest I've ever been with anything I've ever recorded," says Cook, "I was working with people who really were able to get into my mind and help me let go of my expectations, instead of worrying 'is this gonna rock hard enough or be rootsy enough or be smart enough.'"
Those people begin with producer Craig Street, whose long list of credits includes Norah Jones, Cassandra Wilson, Joe Henry and K.D. Lang. Then comes an all-star band, featuring David Garza (guitar), Me'Shell N'Degeocello (bass), Chris Bruce (guitar) and Jonathan Wilson (drums).
Cook had a few other friends make some special contributions to Summer Skin. BushSnoop Dogg's new album is BUSH. The album is entirely produced by friend, fellow-innovator, and Grammy Award-winner Pharrell Williams, and is the latest offering from one of music's most prolific and revered trendsetters.
The historic pairing between longtime friends Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams came after multiple successful collaborations in the studio, which started over a decade ago. As noted by Snoop Dogg, the duo made a pact with each other to restore the 'missing' vibe in today's music by creating songs dedicated to a better present and an ideal future.
Channeling retro-futuristic funk topped with a feel-good mix of R&B and pop, BUSH blossoms with a funkadelic glow, says Snoop Dogg, totally different than anything either of us has ever done. Anchored by Pharrell's effervescent production and Snoop's smooth vocals and delivery, the album features a number of surprise collaborations.
Snoop Dogg has sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, reigning for more than two decades as one of the most recognizable giants in music. lullaby and... The Ceaseless RoarRobert Plant's new album, lullaby and The Ceaseless Roar, will be released on Nonesuch/Warner Bros. Records. Produced by Plant, the album is his label debut and features 11 new recordings, nine of which are original songs written by Plant with his band, The Sensational Space Shifters-Justin Adams: bendirs, djembe, guitars, tehardant, background vocals; John Baggott: keyboards, loops, moog bass, piano, tabal, background vocals; Juldeh Camara: kologo, ritti, Fulani vocals; Billy Fuller: bass, drum programming, omnichord, upright bass; Dave Smith: drum set; and Liam "Skin" Tyson: banjo, guitar, background vocals.
lullaby and The Ceaseless Roar is Plant's first record since 2010's Band of Joy, which followed 2007's six-time Grammy Award-winning collaboration with Alison Krauss, Raising Sand. Justin Adams and John Baggott of The Sensational Space Shifters appeared on Plant's 2002 release Dreamland, while all but Camara and Smith appeared on 2005's Mighty Rearranger. The new-album line-up recently toured the world before recording lullaby and The Ceaseless Roar at Helium Studios in Wiltshire and Real World Studios in Bath, UK. The track "Rainbow" was recorded in Contino Rooms in London. Tchad Blake mixed all but three tracks on the album.
"It's really a celebratory record, powerful, gritty, African, Trance meets Zep," Plant says. "The whole impetus of my life as a singer has to be driven by a good brotherhood. I am very lucky to work with The Sensational Space Shifters. They come from exciting areas of contemporary music I have been around awhile and I ask myself, do I have anything to say? Is there a song still inside me? In my heart? I see life and what's happening to me. Live In LondonLive In London is the first live recording and concert film from acclaimed artist Regina Spektor. Captured mainly at London's famed Hammersmith Apollo Theatre, Live In London features 22 remarkable performances that span Spektor's brilliant catalog of music, including three new songs that have only been performed live (Silly Eye-Color Generalizations, Bobbing For Apples and Love, You're A Whore). Live In London was recorded during Regina's UK tour in support of her latest album, Far, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200.
An artist praised for her remarkable originality, inspired storytelling and enthralling performances, Rolling Stone raves Spektor put on one of the most intensely joyful rock shows we've seen all year. The Philadelphia Inquirer adds, Everything she did was greeted with thunderous applause ... the audience could not get enough. Perhaps what was most remarkable about Regina's performance, aside from hearing Spektor's gorgeous vocals in person, was her ability to enrapture the crowd. Spektor's passion, vitality and sheer musical talent transformed the Electric Factory into a world of intimacy. The Boston Globe simply says, multitalented Spektor is capable of anything and it shows on stage.1. On The Radio

Something Else (Awaiting Repress)After achieving his highest-charting release with 2011's All 6's And 7's (#4 Billboard), Strange Music general Tech N9ne tackles the most ambitious album of his career with Something Else. The Kansas City emcee kept fans busy in 2012 with the release of three consecutive Top 3 rap EP releases - KLUSTERFUK, E.B.A.H., and Boiling Point.
With demand at a fever pitch, Tech N9ne aims to give listeners an untouched piece of his life while cementing his place among rap's elite.
The beats sound nothing like anything you've ever heard me on, say Tech. The features that I'm going for are something you would never imagine. All I can say about it now is that it's a very human album. What I mean by that is that it's contradictory. On one song I say, 'The saint is ours', like we're in the saint's corner and then I have another song called 'I'm Not A Saint'. It's so beautiful because the King, the Clown, and the G are still present on this album.
There are no apologies in what I'm saying. I don't mind that it contradicts itself because that's what people do. The album is everywhere. It feels like it's Hell, Purgatory and Heaven all over again. I'm telling stories that I've never told - that I was afraid to tell on some songs. It's super personal and I've got a big chip on my shoulder again. It's always been there, but it's getting bigger having to prove to fans and critics that we ain't going nowhere.
Album Features: Kendrick Lamar, The Doors, B.O.B., Wiz Kalifah, Cee Lo Green, Serge (System Of The Down), Game, Danny Brown, Big K.R.I.T., Krizz Kaliko, Mayday and others.1. News with Mark Alford (skit)

...Little Broken HeartsMastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio from the original source recordings!
200-gram audiophile vinyl double-LP pressing by Quality Record Pressings. Gatefold, tip-on jackets on heavy cardboard stock, deluxe high quality!
Part of Analogue Productions' reissue of the Norah Jones' solo catalog, featuring the individual albums Come Away With Me, Feels Like Home, Not Too Late, The Fall and Little Broken Hearts. Each album will also be featured in an exclusive LP box set to come that will include Norah's Covers album!
Norah Jones' Little Broken Hearts was created in collaboration with producer Brian Danger Mouse Burton, best known as the producing ace for Gnarls Barkley with singer Cee Lo Green. Jones and Danger Mouse wrote all of the material for the album together at the producer's studio in Los Angeles, and the duo performed all of the instruments themselves. This is their second time working together - Jones previously appeared as a vocalist on Rome, Danger Mouse's collaboration with Italian composer Daniele Luppi. Though Little Broken Hearts is the result of a partnership between Jones and Danger Mouse, the record will be credited only to her.
The album's sound ranges from experimental chamber serenades to stark, electronic-embellished confessions. It's obviously very different than anything Norah's ever done, Burton says. I don't know what people will think - I hope they like it, and she doesn't lose a bunch of fans.
I'd never gone in with nothing and wrote songs from scratch, and I'd never played bass before on a record, Jones told Rolling Stone. I was out of my comfort zone - but I was comfortable because we're friends.
Adds Burton, The best thing was having just the two of us on those first sessions, not a whole band. Norah had as many, if not more, great ideas than I did.
One of the boldest departures is Take It Back, which features fuzzed-out guitars and spooky, distorted vocals. I never knew how to get weird sounds, Jones says. It was all about finding a balance between those effects and making sure my voice was clear and sounded like me.
In its own quiet way, Little Broken Hearts hews closer to heartbreak classics like Marvin Gaye's Here, My Dear than to anything in Jones' back catalog, Rolling Stone reports, This time, I've been way less concerned with self-editing, Jones says. I'm not sad, but there's a lot of hurt in there. And it felt great to say what I felt and put it down on tape. Doing that made me so happy! This album is all about saying things that needed to be said.

Storm Corrosion (Awaiting Repress)Import
Storm Corrosion is the long-discussed and highly anticipated collaboration between two of the modern progressive rock scene's most innovative and multi-talented artists: Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson and Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth. The pair will release their self-titled debut album via Roadrunner Records.
The sound of Storm Corrosion can best be described as enchanting, orchestral, ambient, epic (half the album's tracks clock in around the 10-minute mark) and nothing short of surprising to the new ear. However, the musicians' respective fanbases will be primed to appreciate the new output, with Wilson's recent solo album, Grace for Drowning, and Opeth's Heritage having brought them to a logical place to understand Storm Corrosion. This eponymous collection is almost viewed as one side of a musical triangle.
Says Wilson, "If you'd asked me three months ago about the music, I would have said, 'Expect the last thing you would expect.' But actually, now that Heritage and Grace for Drowning have come out, I don't think it's going to be that much of a shock to people, because it's almost like a third part of the trilogy, in a way. If anything, it's even more orchestral, even more stripped down, even more dark, twisted and melancholic, but it certainly feels like it comes from the same place as Heritage and Grace for Drowning, which indeed it does because it was written during the same period."
"Some of the music on this record I think is the most beautiful music I have participated in ever," adds Åkerfeldt. "There's some magical sections on there. Musically I think we've created something earthy, a bit frightening, exhausting, profound and rather intense. All at the same time. I can safely say I don't know any other band or artist that sounds anything like Storm Corrosion. I guess that was also one of our goals, so to speak."1. Drag Ropes
