The ScientistsThe Scientists' 1981 wild debut bewildered Perth, Australia's punters with its charging anthems centered on themes of young love and alienation. Obvious in its rebellion yet more pop than punk, the self-titled Pink Album deftly embodied the tough-yet-danceable outsider aura of The Ramones, and its unheard of, feverish clip shook the shores of the geographically confined Swan Coastal Plain of down under. Recorded just as the lineup of guitarist-vocalist Kim Salmon (The Cheap Nasties), drummer James Baker (The Victims) and bassist Ian Sharples were breaking up, the album stands as a testament to the contagious chops of Perth's swelling pool of musical talent, and to the promise of Salmon's unwavering vision that would become one of the most celebrated acts of the Aussie underground.1. Stranger Heads PrevailGreen Colored Vinyl
New Jersey alt/prog connoisseurs, Thank You Scientist, have announced details of their brand new full-length, Stranger Heads Prevail that will be released via Evil Ink Records. The label is best known for being owned and ran by Coheed and Cambria lead singer, Claudio Sanchez.
Sanchez says of the band, "Thank You Scientist is a rare band that stretches the boundaries of the listener's expectation. Their compositions are a tornado of complexity and style that compel the audience to stay present for every note."
Following the breakout success of their debut label album, Maps Of Non-Existent Places, the band set to follow one simple but resolute goal: no expectations. Constantly writing and with an intense rehearsal schedule, the band began crafting Stranger Heads Prevail together in late 2014 under the watchful ear of guitarist/primary songwriter Tom Monda.
According to Monda, musically the band wanted to make a rock record with multiple layers of compartmentalized detail, a la The Beatles "Abbey Road" or Queens' "Night at the Opera". "This record has a lot of attention to detail, which will hopefully keep people coming back for more. We wanted to make something that held up to both surface listens as well as tailor to listeners who are listening with a microscope of sorts. With more listens, I feel the songs unveil themselves more and more."
Vocalist and lyricist Salvatore Marrano adds, "This is a deeply personal record for me, albeit positive, but I found myself continually needing to find the positive in all of the negative in our lives. We're all just trying to sift through the bullshit to find a bit of hope."1. Prologue: A Faint Applause

Maps Of Non-Existent PlacesClaudio Sanchez has officially launched his record label Evil Ink Records and his first signing is New Jersey's young experimental progressive rock septet
Thank You Scientist. The newly formed label, distributed by INgrooves, will be releasing a fully remixed and remastered version of the band's 2012 debut
full-length record, Maps of Non-Existent Places, in time for their run with Coheed and Cambria's "Neverender:IKSSE3 Tour."
Claudio Sanchez knows a little bit about progressive music. His career has spanned 12 years and 7 albums, likely encompassing the longest concept
album arc in the history of rock and roll. Now, in effort to further support and promote his beloved complex genre, he has launched a label dedicated to
sharing a wealth of future talent with the first signing being the extremely talented seven-piece band Thank You Scientist.
For the uninitiated, Thank You Scientist was forged from the music program at Montclair State University in New Jersey when guitarist Tom Monda met
saxophonist Ellis Jasenovic and trumpeter Andrew Digrius. The three bonded over their love for Frank Zappa, Mahavishnu Orchestra, The Beatles and
Harry Nilsson. Those influences would become the seeds for what Thank You Scientist would evolve into today.
With the addition of vocalist Salvatore Marrano, bassist Greg Colacino, drummer Odin Alvarez and violinist Ben Karas, Thank You Scientist's lineup of
virtuoso musicians was complete. The band would go on to self-release an EP, The Perils of Time Travel, in 2011 followed by their debut full-length, Maps
of Non-Existent Places, in 2012, which caught the ear of Sanchez, a fellow purveyor of progressive stylings, and led to his signing of the band.
To pinpoint Thank You Scientist's sound would be inconceivable. On Maps of Non-Existent Places they hold a virtual master class on musicianship,
fusing elements of progressive rock with jazz fusion, classical, metal, psychedelic and pop for a head spinning, mind-blowing listening experience. The
seven-piece band, who collectively play some 20 instruments, boasts a hyper-composed sound which is indebted to their experience and formal training
in both classical and jazz idioms.
A Frank Zappa for the indie generation? Incubus jamming with the Mahavishnu Orchestra? Mr. Bungle and Steely Dan joining forces to fight Godzilla?

TV En Français13 years and 3 albums in, We Are Scientists are back with album number 4.
The new long player was recorded in New York City over the last year with producer Chris Coady (Smith Westerns, Beach House, Gang Gang Dance, Blonde Redhead), and will land in the middle of the band's 5 month tour of Europe, America & Australia.
Asked to comment on the unusual title, bassist Chris Cain explains, It's in French, I think. At least some of the words.
Singer and guitarist Keith Murray elaborates: We wanted to get at the seemingly inevitable parallax that happens between two people in a relationship, that sense that you get the gist of what the other person needs and wants and how they feel about you, but only the gist - you're relying on these broad cues a lot of the time to tell you what the hell's going on.
We Are Scientists exploded onto the U.K. scene with one of 2005's iconic indie dance rock records, 'With Love & Squalor'. Years of touring followed, as did a second album, 'Brain Thrust Mastery', that spawned now-classic nightlife anthem 'After Hours' (a #11 charting single). Main stage slots at Reading & Leeds,
Glastonbury, T In The Park, and festivals all over Europe, as well as appearances on Later with Jools Holland, and their own series of comedic MTV shorts ('Steve Wants His Money'), followed by third album 'Barbara'. all served to cement and increase their legacy.
Now, after releasing a 7-inch and a 5-song EP in 2013, the band prepare to share their finest collection of songs to date.
According to Cain, The guy who was producing everything looked different from the one who did those other three records.
Murray further enthuses, Yeah, working for the first time with Chris Coady as producer had a huge effect - he has such a distinct and well-developed sense of what's cool and what sounds good, but he's also emphatic about keeping the rawness of the performances in there.
Drummer Andy Burrows, who also recorded 'Barbara' with W.A.S., relocated to New York for a year to work on the new album, and lends his world-class efforts behind the kit and elsewhere.

Honest To GoodnessHonest to Goodness is the solo work of Chad Stocker. He currently lives in Detroit and plays in the rock band The High Strung. The recordings he does under this moniker represent the many other musical sides of his personality. These songs are more textural, folk-drone experiments. Slowly expanding background textures boil over their scientist's aural beakers and spill electricity all over the gallery walls. Recorded live as he played through an ouroboros of patches, cables and the world's greatest amplifier. Limited to 300 copies on blue/orange swirl vinyl.

Jaga Jazzist '94-'14It's hard to believe that the Norwegian 8-piece band (founded on the Horntveth triumvirate - Lars, Martin and Line) is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, in 2014. Not that there aren't other groups that have lasted as long, but look for a group whose primary composer was just 14 when the whole thing began, find a band where five out of its eight current members were there when everything started in 1994, and scope out one that has managed to remain as stylistically enigmatic and impossible to categorise as... well, you get the idea.
And so we thought it fitting to mark the band's 20th year with a unique, limited edition vinyl box set featuring a special reissue of the landmark album 'A Livingroom Hush' (2004). The Cookbook (Pre-Order)With The Cookbook, the innovative Missy Elliott proves to the masses she is a musical mad scientist whose artistic abilities are unparalleled and without peer. Elliott is a quadruple threat: rapper, singer, songwriter and producer; add that to her woman-empowered lyrics and Missy's ability to be a musical and mental role model is inarguable. As a producer, Missy Elliott knows how to build a great project by incorporating the best talent available, an easy task since so many want to work with her. Not surprisingly, The Cookbook is filled with a world-class guest list.
That very large list includes American Idol winner Fantasia , cRunk&B queen Ciara , old-school rapper Slick Rick , dancehall sensation M.I.A. (on the drumline-heavy Bad Man) and the current queen of soul, Mary J. Blige . In a reversal of roles, My Struggles finds Missy singing Ya'll don't really know my life, y'all don't really know my struggles while Mary J. raps over a sample of herself from What's The 411. One unexpected surprise is Missy sings out more than on previous releases. The bare-bones Remember When is a definite standout, a 70's-inspired slow jam highlighted by her honest lyrics, sweet falsetto and jazz-affected tones. The beautiful melancholy of Teary Eyed is another standout, an amen-inducing testament to a relationship gone wrong and the beginning of the healing process.
To hear Missy sing with full rawness and no bravado is a further testament to her talents and will likely bring an even larger audience into her fold. - Denise Sheppard1. Joy

Cryptocracy (Awaiting Repress)From the metal-hewn flatlands of Finland comes a dark new force in electronic music. Forged in the electrical fire of industrial; nurtured through the apocalyptic feedback of art-rock, experimental and all things disruptive; and championed by the most influential names in EDM and beyond, Huoratron is deeper, stranger and harder-core than whatever came before it.
Huoratron came to life in 2003, the brainchild of DJ/producer/mad 8-bit scientist Aku Raski. His sinister vision has taken form in just a few releases: some material for Finnish label New Judas, including the proactively aggressive Prevenge EP, containing angry blip-fest $$ Troopers and Corporate Occult, a slice of electro-house gone horribly awry. A set of remixes that changed H.I.M.'s In Venere Veritas from a jangly bit of radio rock to a doomed ride aboard a haunted 747 and M.I.A.'s Internet Connection from her usual minimal-funky hoedown to a sizzling nuclear rain storm.
After resigning to Last Gang in 2010, Raski hit the studio, emerging a year later with Cryptocracy, his first full-length album. To be blatantly honest I do not personally feel a close resemblance to many, if any artist within my scene, Raski explains. This is mostly because I'm driven by my own vigorous motivation and do what I do despite associations made by others. I mean no disrespect by this. It is simply a fact that I, as an artist am in the center of the storm and feel content there.
Cryptocracy is a journey of destruction, driven by chip synths, distortion and gut-punching bass. Recognizable sounds peak their heads out occasionally: a house riff on Transcendence, a dubstep pass on Sea of Meat, stripped-down techno on A699F. But they're swallowed up by an apocalyptic wave; the noises, textures and sonic sneak attacks that are Huoratron's signature, born more from a feeling than a particular genre focus.1. Cryptocracy

Slow DazzleIn 1975, mad scientist and Velvet Underground alum John Cale returned to the lab to record another experiment. Slow Dazzle, his fifth solo album and second collaboration with Roxy Music's Brian Eno and Phil Manzanera, dissects rock and avant-garde, hacks the limbs off of pop and jazz, and fuses the styles together into a limber, impassioned creation.
Back on domestic vinyl for the first time in decades, this RTI-pressed edition of Slow Dazzle is cut at Mobile Fidelity by in-house engineer Krieg Wunderlich and features stunning sonics. Quiet surfaces, faithful artwork, and the opportunity to hear Cale's incisive fare unfold amidst wide soundstages and black backgrounds-not to mention the emotionally unsettling content within-make this Wax Cathedral LP a must for music aficionados.
Sometimes jaunty and beer-soaked, sometimes maniacally spitting into the microphone about killing his wife's lover, sometimes despairing, sometimes sweet, Cale holds forth with schizophrenic authority. Manzanera's sordid guitar dirges ambidextrously switch to cheerful riffs as Eno's synthesizer rubber-bands its way through sunshine and smoke-machine fog. Chris Thomas, who recorded with the Beatles and engineered albums for Pink Floyd and the Sex Pistols, throws haunted violin and dissonant electric piano into the formula.
Whether he's heaping neon sleaze atop earnest surf harmonies in an ode to the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson (Mr. Wilson), lulling you into a blurred, easy-listening trance (Ski Patrol, I'm Not the Loving Kind), or growling a pre-goth era cover of Elvis' Heartbreak Hotel" with mascara-running intensity, Cale delivers an elastic range of artistry. Ditties like "Dirty Ass Rock 'N' Roll" and "Guts" place psychopath tendencies into the body of a catchy pop song, turn up the electricity, twitch, and grab.
By all means, Cale's experiment was a success. Slow Dazzle is alive.1. Mr. Wilson

Studio One Dub Volume 2Studio One Dub 2 is a second collection bringing together some of the finest dubs from the legendary Studio One Records, Kingston, Jamaica. Dub music was the creation of a generation of brilliant recording studio engineers in Jamaica. But although Clement Coxsone Dodd's Studio One is hailed as the greatest of the Jamaican recording labels, and although many talented engineers worked the board at Dodd's Brentford Road studio over the years (including Sylvan Morris, Syd Bucknor, Overton Scientist Brown and Dodd himself), Studio One was never typically known as a centre for dub. This is because for many fans the studio's commercial and stylistic heyday was in the 1960s, prior to the rise of dub as a distinct sub-genre of Jamaican music in the 1970s. By the 1970s, however, dub music was the rage in Jamaica's sound systems. Always the pioneer - and since Sylvan Morris had left the Studio One operation around 1972 - Coxsone supervised the dubs till leaving Jamaica at the end of the decade. This meant that for the most part, for example, the twelve Studio One dub albums released during the 1970s were mixed by Dodd himself, using the moniker Dub Specialist. Throughout the decade, the mixes became more sophisticated and atmospheric. Along with the first volume of Studio One Dub, the cuts here demonstrate that Studio One's contribution to the innovative musical form of dub was substantial, and go straight to the head of listeners who feel that the only centres for dub were studios such as King Tubby's, Lee Perry's Black Ark, Channel One, or Joe Gibbs's. The tracks on this compilation are taken from this period in the 1970s when dub was the cutting-edge of Jamaican music studio production. Most of them are the dub-version flip-sides of rare Jamaican 45s, and none have appeared on CD before. Michael E. Veal, author of Dub: Soundscapes and Shattered Songs in Jamaican Reggae (Wesleyan University Press, 2007).LP1

The Trials Of Van Occupanther (10th Anniversary Edition) (Awaiting Repress)10th Anniversary Edition On 180-Gram Gold Vinyl
Includes A B2 Pull-Out Poster, Handwritten Lyrics & Previously Unseen Photos
Comes With A Special Bonus 7 With 2 Unreleased Songs
Limited To Only 1000 Copies For North America
This Autumn Midlake will celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Trials of Van Occupanther with a deluxe reissue via Bella Union on 180g gold vinyl, complete with a B2 pull-out poster, handwritten lyrics and previously unseen photos. The cover artwork has been reimagined in a fittingly flushed, hallucinatory painting by neo-impressionist (and pavement-scorching skateboarder) Brian Lotti. The original album will be accompanied by a special bonus 7" featuring two previously unreleased tracks, the plaintive rolling lament of "The Fairest Way" and the revelatory psychedelic swirl of "Festival," two tracks recorded before original vocalist Tim Smith departed the band.
In 2006, Van Occupanther was hailed as an instant classic and over the course of the next year proved to be the band's commercial breakthrough. While their debut, 2004's Bamnan and Slivercork, had drawn acclaim alongside comparisons to Grandaddy and Radiohead, Midlake looked further afield and deeper within for the follow-up. Suffused with a romantic yearning for the simpler life, this was a record pitched between 1871, 1971 and somewhere out of time: between Henry David Thoreau and Neil Young's After the Gold Rush, between 1970s Laurel Canyon thinking and a longing for something more mysterious. Rich reserves of wistful melody, dreamy horns, rolling guitars and plaintive pianos reflect its elusive, idiosyncratic narratives: a couple long to be robbed by bandits so they can start anew, an outcast scientist ponders his pariah status, a woman chases a frisky deer, a river leads who knows where yet leaves you little choice but to follow
Famous admirers included Thom Yorke, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Paul Weller, James Dean Bradfield, St Vincent, actor/skateboarder Jason Lee and The Chemical Brothers, and the album went on to secure high placings in the end-of-year polls. Since then, their influence has perhaps been felt in the breakthrough of many a band or singer at one with the stuff of beards, bucolic yearning and blissful West Coast harmonies, from Fleet Foxes to Band of Horses, The Low Anthem, Jonathan Wilson, Matthew E White and beyond.
Not that Midlake stood still to lap up the praise: a band acutely attuned to nature's shifts, they embraced change. In 2010 they ventured into darker psych-folk thickets for The Courage of Others and backed John Grant on his celebrated breakthrough album, Queen of Denmark. When Tim Smith subsequently departed, guitarist/singer Eric Pulido stepped up to the lead vocal role for 2013's freshly exploratory Antiphon. Since then, Pulido and various Midlake members have embarked on a new musical project with a cast of all-stars including members of Grandaddy, Franz Ferdinand, Band of Horses and Travis, for an album due for release next year. All of this serves to remind us what fertile seeds were sown with The Trials of Van Occupanther: a modern classic, made of vintage craft and timeless magic.1. Roscoe

CompanyAndy Burrows releases his stunning debut solo album, Company, co-produced by Burrows with Tim Baxter.
A supremely talented songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Andy Burrows first came to attention with Razorlight, joining as drummer in 2004 and going on to co-write some of the band's biggest hits, including the #1 single, America. Leaving Razorlight in 2009, Burrows joined We Are Scientists as a part-time member, before releasing the album Sun Comes Up Again under the moniker I Am Arrows in 2010. Sun Comes Up Again garnered righteous critical acclaim and massive radio airplay for its Green Grass single, and saw Burrows and his band tour extensively, with headline shows and festival dates, as well as stadium shows as guests of Muse.
What followed for Burrows was an incredibly prolific purple patch. First he joined up with long-time friend and Editors frontman Tom Smith as Smith & Burrows for 2011's Funny Looking Angels, an album of wintry vignettes and Christmas melancholy. Then, he agreed to decamp to New York to become a full-time Scientist. Amid all this, he has been hard at work on his own material, using a more straight-ahead approach than on his debut, all of it injected with Burrows' way with an earworming hook.
The result is an album that is Andy Burrows' truest yet. If the radiant Sun Comes Up Again was imbued with a deliberate contrary streak, then here he embraces a straight-ahead approach, building an album steeped in rock classicism and raw, melancholic melodies. Company is the sound of an artist who has thrown off the shackles and emerged as a bewilderingly creative tour-de-force.1. Company

SparksGrammy and Ivor Novello award winning recording artist Imogen Heap will release her highly anticipated 4th solo album Sparks in 2014 through RCA Records.
Sparks has been on a well traveled journey, one which Heap began at 6am 14 March 2011, with a live stream from her home studio in a small village on the outskirts of London, gathering 'sound seeds' from fans and weaving them together to form the first song (Lifeline). Fast forward, 4 continents later, a dozen related projects and 14 tracks, the album cover artwork was then completed by those who pre-ordered the limited edition, super deluxe box set by sending in their footprints! The stunning piece of artwork and packaging, designed and developed over the past three years by Imogen and her creative team with CSV (the company behind Radiohead's special packaging) it is the very first time that Imogen has released such a super deluxe package.
Says Heap, The album began with someone sending in the sound of striking a match for what became Lifeline in March 2011. I then dived into the most immense, intense creative 2 and a half years of my life that took me all over the planet, collaborating on so many projects with so many people and often totally spontaneously. The album is then in some ways for me grounded with fans' footprints bringing the finishing touch for the album art, as so many of them came along for the ride.
While working on Sparks, Heap turned songs into projects and projects into songs, to bring her out of her studio and 'let life in' rather than postponing things until her album was done. This fresh approach found Imogen collaborating with everyone from her fans to unsuspecting passers-by, gardeners to filmmakers, scientists to newspaper journalists and brings us her most diverse and daring body of work to date. From the River Thames (You Know Where To Find Me) to 5000 feet up in the Himalayas (Climb to Sakteng, Cycle Song), from her local community garden (Neglected Space) to 6 weeks in the Chinese metropolis of Hangzhou (Xizi She Knows), Heap was soaking it up, writing, developing, recording and producing. Sounds of a dishwasher door to a Bhutanese dranyen, the voice of a crumbling wall to 700 fans' becoming a spoken word chorus. Some of Heap's projects include her brilliant Mi.Mu Gloves, developed over this album period with an incredible team of scientists, engineers and artists (Me The Machine) and dabbled in generative and reactive music with music app developers RJDJ (Run-Time) connected to a jogging app. From the deeply personal love songs Propeller Seeds and Entanglement to the crowd sourced response to the Sendai earthquake (Lifeline), her trademark honesty runs through the album.LP 1

AutomatonGossamer is Evan Reiner-the producer, guitarist, synthesizer scientist and
urban-spelunking field recorder whose full-length debut Automaton dissolves
the genre-breaking electronica of Autechre and Boards of Canada into a
bottomless sea of found sound and ambient atmosphere. It's less an album than
an environment all its own, or a journey into the unexplored. And whether it's
inspiring a trip deep into the discography of Steve Reich or into California's
beautifully desolate Ansel Adams Wilderness, it's that fearless spirit of
exploration that brought Automaton to life.
Reiner grew up in the L.A. neighborhood of Eagle Rock with a father telling war
stories about seeing Black Flag and the Germs play and with a set of cousins
who'd get him started listening to hip-hop. (Especially instrumentals by
iconoclastic producers like Premier, RZA and New York's crushing DITC crew,
Reiner remembers.) As he turned 16, he was playing guitar "religiously," he says,
as well as listening intently to Slayer and Cannibal Corpse on the way to
ferocious hardcore shows on the fringes of Los Angeles.
By the time he graduated high school, he was a hardcore kid with a heavy
grounding in hip-hop who'd developed so tremendously as a guitarist that he
was practicing notoriously formidable Django Reinhardt songs for fun. The
connection might not seem obvious, but it was there nonetheless-these were
three distinct musical forms equally dedicated to passion, individual technique
and total commitment to expression.
He won admission to the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston, where
his first semesters in the fall of 2009 were everything he'd hoped. But the more
he studied, the clearer it became that he'd need to strike out on his own: "So
many professors would tell their students what the right thing to do was in a
creative setting," he says now. "There is no right way."
He'd once used his computer just to help with his composition homework, but
now he was restless. So he began to focus on the potential of electronic music:
"I realized it was like having every component of a band at your fingertips," he
says. "It felt free and genuine with no distractions." He'd begun to make his own
field recordings, too, capturing the sounds of Boston at sunrise and stirring
them into his beat experiments. Intense study of movie sound and foley artistry,
like pouring sand across drum cymbals or using spent shells from a gun range
for percussion, gave him a whole new vocabulary, and he found further
inspiration in artists from Ai Weiwei to Maya Duren to Stanley Kubrick to Delia
Derbyshire-people who blew open the boundaries of their own disciplines.
Then in July 2013, he began to make what would become his first full-length
album as Gossamer. He'd rent an armful of microphones and hike to the tunnels
under Pasadena's eerie Devil's Gate Dam, site of suicides and barely-thwarted
summonings in the tradition of Aleister Crowley. ("The echo is crazy," he says.)
During a month in Japan, he recorded "terrifying trains" and cicadas and the
squeals of a rusting bicycle. He'd record himself smashing trash under a bridge
in downtown L.A., or knocking rebar against rotting wood 8,000 feet above sea
level in California's Ansel Adams Wilderness Area. Then he'd come
home-whether "home" at that particular moment was his own studio, a capsule
hotel in Japan, a friend's place in Boston or a temporary space in New York-and
"make accidents happen," he says, with recorders and samplers and guitar and
(this time) a stable of analog synthesizers.
The result was Gossamer's Automaton, a precise and gentle dreamscape of
experimental electronica, where the ambient atmosphere of Gas drifts across
the fractured beats of Autechre or Boards of Canada. It starts with its own
sunrise on "Thoughtform," where birdsong melts into ghostly vocals and waves
of synthesizer, and then shifts into the haunting "Print," which transplants the
sci-fi sensibilities of Vangelis to some desolate and wild new world. His "Okuma"
is like a Tortoise song that never touches solid ground, while tracks like and
recall the Brian Eno of Fourth World, somehow ancient and futuristic at
once. When the crickets start chirping on closer "-;- ", it's a signal that the
day-and the journey-are both coming to an end. It's might be his first album,
but it's also a first step towards something new.
"Automaton is me," Reiner explains. "It's my process. It's a symbol of having
accepted that there is a difference between being alone and being lonely. It's a
coping mechanism for the struggle to realize and balance what I am and am not
in control of in my life. It reminds me of playing Bioshock and watching Blade
Runner at the same time while naked in the jungle on another planet. It makes
me think of watching an old home video of myself and seeing Neptune right
outside my window. The list goes on and on-I could go forever."1. Thoughtform

Our whole entire team is excited to announce the release of my next album "UNLIMITED" - this is a collection of music which represents the vastly eclectic musical tastes & creative ideas of both myself and many friends & collaborators who joined the project to build something unique and heartfelt. This is a very deep release for me, with much more downtempo than usual, and a lot of concepts I have wanted to finish for a long time finally coming to fruition. The general theme of this album is the unlimited combinations of sound & ideas within the creative process; treating music like a sonic collage, exploring multiple simultaneous possibilities at once and wandering through the interplay between all the various layers and options. Every song has multiple versions and special hidden meaning, and alternate endings. And each song was created with you in mind as part of an unwritten soundtrack to a future experience where your body and mind can lose themselves in the molecules, and the sound waves, and the energy : )
I feel like I am introducing you to 15 new friends: hopefully these songs will find their way into your lives at the right time, and serve the right purpose, or enrich your journey somehow. I of course want to thank all of my creative partners & collaborators, as well as all of the extended team and the behind-the-scenes mad scientists who work around the clock to run the label, and plan the tours, and run the shows which fuel the spark that this community is built around. Thank you all for being a part of it, your passion & enthusiasm is the ultimate reflection : )

Consider this simple fact: Even the smallest flowers crack concrete. It's enough to make one wonder what might happen if the Earth were freed from humankind's influence and simply left to its own devices-to regenerate, blossom, and grow wild. What wonders might spring from its soil? Scientists speculate that it would take only a century or two to wipe away the plants, crops, and animal species so carefully fashioned by humankind's industrious hand. In a few thousand years, the world might look exactly as it did before humanity came along: a wilderness. Take, for instance, New York City, considered by many the greatest city on Earth. Without humankind's interference, the repeated thawing and freezing of spring and winter would, within a decade, shatter the city's cement skin, allowing water to seep deep into the fertile ground below. Cracks would widen, deepen, and provide the soil from which exotic plant species, such as New York's prolific Chinese ailanthus tree, would grow. Within as little as five years, ailanthus roots would heave up the sidewalks and course through the sewers, while native Virginia creeper and poison ivy would adorn the city's skyscrapers. Within two decades, the water-soaked steel columns that support the street above the city's vast subway tunnels would give way, quickly transforming Lexington Avenue into a mighty river. Coyotes would find shelter in Central Park, to be soon followed by deer, bears, and wolves. Large oak trees would cover the land, while hawks and falcons would soar through the skies.
But let's not forget: We are also a product of Earth's rich soil, sharing even the most majestic creature's ability to strengthen, diversify, and cultivate the land; to create a world fit for work and play, where we can share happiness and nurture life. Indeed, Earth is a reservoir of such life, a treasure chest overflowing with the elements-the rocks, metals, clay, and other ingredients-with which we build our villages and cities, our most modest shelters and most breathtaking monuments: the skyscrapers that part the highest clouds, tunnels that connect the farthest lands, and bridges that cross the widest rivers. That the smallest flower can display as much strength as the tallest skyscraper is not an indictment against humanity. Instead, it is a testament to humankind's vast potential: to engineer a beauty rivaled only by Earth's natural magnificence.
SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+ (PSC+) CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors prevent both strand-to-strand contacts and magnetic interaction, major sources of distortion. Surface quality is critical because a conductor can be considered as a rail-guide for both the electric fields within a conductor, and for the magnetic fields outside the conductor. The astonishingly smooth and pure surface of all AudioQuest's Perfect-Surface metals nearly eliminates harshness and greatly increases clarity compared to all other premium coppers. The extreme purity of PSC+ further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries, which exist within any metal conductor.
DIELECTRIC-BIAS SYSTEM (DBS, US Pat #S 7,126,055 & 7,872,195 B1): Creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This dramatically reduces dielectric induced smearing of the signal, letting sound emerge from a "black" background.
CARBON-BASED 6-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION (NDS): Shields-the-shield, reducing RFI contamination of the equipment ground plane.
FEP AIR-TUBES (FEP IS A NOTABLY INERT FLUORO-POLYMER): Almost no contact between conductors and insulation reduces smearing and preserves dynamics.
TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: Proper ground-reference conductor prevents using the shield as an inferior ground-reference conductor.
