Featuring The Hit Songs Lakini's Juice, Rattlesnake, Turn My Head And Freaks

Live spikes their third album Secret Samadhi with Eastern-tinged strings, sitars, and powerful guitars. It took its name from Samadhi, a state of Hindu meditation. The album is co-produced by the band and Jay Healy and debuted in 1997 at number one on the charts.

Secret Samadhi contains four modern rock hit singles including Lakini's Juice, Rattlesnake, Turn My Head and Freaks. The first hit Lakini's Juice opens with some abrasive staccato guitar and features an orchestra towards the end.

During the Worldwide Reunion Tour 2017 by Live, two of their in-demand albums will finally be made available on vinyl again. The 1997 double album Secret Samadhi and the 1999 album The Distance To Here [MOVLP1886] will follow-up the Throwing Copper [MOVLP414] release pressed in 2012 by Music On Vinyl.

Since the reunion is a special moment for the band and fans, Music On Vinyl believes there is no better way than celebrating the tour by repressing the two albums and making these epic releases for fans and listeners finally available on vinyl again.

the powerful medley of Traffic's Dealer & Santana's Spanish Rose. The
fantastic work also includes the drum tour de force Wham! , featuring
the all-star percussive line up of Graham Lear, Pete Escovedo, Armando
Pereza and Raul Rekow. All in all, Inner Secrets took the fans by storm,

    Secrets

Secrets (1976) is a Jazz-Funk fusion album by acclaimed keyboard player Herbie Hancock. Following up on his previous album Man-Child, the album again features Paul Jackson on bass, and reedist Bennie Maupin continued to provide most of the solos alongside Hancock. Man-Child had seen the addition of electric guitar to Hancock's sound, and Secrets saw the guitar's place in the arrangements rise to crucial importance throughout. The flamboyant rhythm guitar contributions of top Motown session musician Wah Wah Watson are a particularly notable feature of the album.

Where Man-Child was evenly divided between up-tempo and laid-back tracks, Secrets emphasised the more mellow, softly rounded mood. Even the more up-tempo tracks, Doin' It and Cantaloupe Island, are suffused with a relaxed Caribbean influence, and overall the album tends towards restrained, rolling grooves rather than overtly high-energy Funk. Appropriately, Hancock spent much of his time using the mellow tones of the Rhodes piano, and took advantage of the new polyphonic synthesizers to contribute thick pads, foreshadowing ambient music.

    Solar Secrets

    Limited Edition

Renowned producer, Tony Visconti, recorded, produced, and mixed the highly anticipated second album for psychedelic rock trio, Capsula. Solar Secrets is the follow up to the acclaimed release, In The Land of Silver Souls. Visonti's prowess at the board will mix seamlessly with Capsula's wild, energetic, and psychedelic garage rock rawness.

Capsula is a serious rock trio, possessed of great musicianship with songs destined to be evergreens, remarked Ton Visconti.

For two weeks Capsula recorded under the direction of Visconti at Lexington's Saint Claire Recording Studio on the heart of Kentucky. With Visconti at the helm, Capsula experimented with a variety of sonic influences ranging from South American garage rock and West Coast pyschedelics to Latin rhythms. Fans will recognize the trio's signature sound of blazing rock n' roll riffs, heart pounding drumbeats, and catchy vocal melodies.

    Secret Life

Toronto duo Moon King have crafted a raw, rapturous and emotional new record, which documents their ascent from an intimate conceptual project into a powerful live band. A first preview of the record comes with the chugging propulsion, soaring harmonies and cosmic haze of album opener 'Roswell'.

In 2013, Moon King, made up of songwriter Daniel Benjamin and singer/guitarist Maddy Wilde, played over 100 shows to support a pair of EPs, Obsession I and II, which were released on Fucked Up's One Big Silence label in North America and Tough Love in UK/Europe. After a year spent on the road, it became evident they should capture the energy of their live show while it was fresh. Following a performance at Iceland Airwaves, Daniel & Maddy relocated to a cottage in northern Ontario to record the album with a group of Toronto music scene luminaries, all of whom had played in various incarnations of the live band.

Most of the tracks on the album were recorded live off the floor, with little except the vocals added, put to tape by live sound engineer Noah Giffin (Owen Pallett, Austra, Diana). Though only five days of recording were booked, an ice storm prevented them from leaving, resulting in an extra couple of days work. The record was then mixed in New York with Jacob Portrait of Unknown Mortal Orchestra/Blouse.

The album's production introduces further nuance to the wall-of-sound approach of the EPs, stripping back dense layers to unearth spellbinding vocals and melodies. Daniel's lyrics focus on catharsis and the weight of emotional trauma, as well as dealing with the self-doubt that stands in the way of recovery.

Frequent show-opener "Apocalypse" begins with the confession "somehow I feel no release when I'm alone with anyone else / somehow I fall to pieces when I wake up to nothing where you should be" and builds intensity and speed until overflowing in a rush of noise, an oddly structured pop song with no repeating sections. "It's impossible / you've been run through with fear / love's a landfill / just another burning spear" chants the soaring chorus of 'Impossible'. The ultimatum at the climax of "Golden Age" - "all I want is to be wanted" channels an honest and tangible fear not common in today's pop landscape.

This sense of loss and longing permeates the album throughout, each song carrying with it both a weight and a sense of urgency.

    The Secret Sisters

The Alabama-reared siblings, Laura and Lydia Rogers, whose new album is steeped in the familial camaraderie and mesmerizing harmonies braced by their Mussel Shoals roots, recorded their inaugural musical effort at Nashville's renowned Blackbird Studio. Produced by revered county knob-turner Dave Cobb (Waylon Jennings and Jamey Johnson), and executive-produced by T-Bone Burnett, The Secret Sisters' sound captured on their debut has been described by Burnett as as close to pure as it gets, and I've been doing this for forty years.

Recorded in a marathon two-week recording session, the producers also brought in vintage analog recording equipment and vintage microphones, determined to properly capture the sisters' magical harmonizing and stunning vocal power. Their signature sound is evident on songs such as Why Don't Ya Love Me, Why Baby Why, and the lifting anthem Tennessee Me, among others.

The Secret Sisters co-wrote several of the songs on the new album and reworked found treasures, including the Frank Sinatra classic Something Stupid. They also enlisted the support of legendary country musicians such as pedal steel great Robbie Turner and piano legend Pig Robbins, among others.

    Secret Walls EP

The Fresh & Onlys have had an unusually prolific past couple of years. On the heels of their critically acclaimed album Play It Strange, the band returns with a bold creative leap forward on their new EP Secret Walls. The cavernous opening sounds of Secret Walls reveal the strong threads of hazy post-punk melancholy that have been woven throughout the bands catalog and have now fully matured. Tim Cohens crooning baritone is more confident and commanding than ever as it is sewn into the dizzying tapestry of the melody, while the guitar sounds of Wymond Miles often suggest the dynamic interplay of Verlaine/Lloyd. Long in the works, this EP was recorded in guitarist Miles San Francisco studio and properly captures their ambience while bringing forward Kyle Gibsons lock-step drumming and the unique melodic play of bassist Shayde Sartin. It is the next logical step for the F&Os and their moody, jangly guitar pop.

    Keep It Like A Secret

    Import

Keep It Like A Secret is the fourth full-length album released by Indie Rock band Built To Spill, originally released in 1999. With their first major label release Perfect From Now On in 1997, Built to To Spill became one of the United States' most recognizable Indie Rock bands. With Keep It Like A Secret, Built To Spill not only continued critical success, but also for the first time, significant commercial success.

During the recordings of Keep It Like A Secret, the band embraced the sounds of a big studio and focused their sound without sacrificing their fractured Indie Rock aesthetic. In a certain way, this is Built To Spill's Pop album: every song is direct and clean, without the long, cerebral jamming that characterized their earlier albums. The songwriting may be streamlined, but Doug Martsch now packs all of his twists, turns, and detours into dense, three-minute blasts.

The album spawned two EPs: Carry The Zero and Center Of The Universe. Pitchfork ranked the album at #41 on their Top Albums of the 90s list.

The strangest thing about Pavement? Not that there were ever many non-strange things about Pavement? Even though they made their era's finest rock albums, the albums only told half their story. Pavement also made some of the Nineties' best albums that *never* happened. Until now.

Pavement made five proper album-as-albums: Slanted and Enchanted (1992), Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain (1994), Wowee Zowee (1995), Brighten The Corners (1997) and Terror Twilight (1999). Each has its own sound. Each has its own legend. But each of their official albums has a shadow album-and it's usually as strong as the album that actually *did* come out. It's time for the world to hear the albums Pavement could have made, if they'd been a little less ambitious about music and a little more ambitious about the music business. If they'd been the kind of band to sweat the legacy. But if they were that kind of band, would they have written so many great songs? Much less *these* great songs? No.

Matador is finally releasing a series of these shadow albums. The first, naturally, is *The Secret History Vol. 1*, collecting the songs that got away during the era of Slanted and Enchanted, which Stephen Malkmus, Scott Kannberg and Gary Young recorded on the cheaper-than-cheap in January 1991. *Secret Slanted History* collects gems from Peel Sessions ("Kentucky Cocktail," "Circa 1762") and seven-inches ("Baptist Blacktick") as well as live slop from the first European tours, with Mark Ibold and Bob Nastanovich in the fold. Some are outtakes from *Slanted*-imagine leaving these tunes off your first album, when as far as you know or imagine, it's your *only* album. These tracks (some of which had never been rumored among Pavement freaks) came out on the 2002 *Slanted and Enchanted* reissue. But they've never been separately available as an album in their own right, and many of them have never been on vinyl before.

The rarities collected here could have been-or maybe even should have been-cobbled together into a quickie stopgap album, a Slantedsequel.

    Keep It Like A Secret

Doug Martsch is enough of a guitar god to fill Keep It Like a Secret, one of indie rock's strongest 1999 major-label releases, with blazing solos. He's also ambivalent about the whole thing, which allows him to highlight the album with You Were Right, a despairing litany of classic-rock lyrical hooks.

Most guitar heroes make their mark by doing something extravagant, like playing with their teeth or with their instrument in flames. Doug Martsch of Boise, Idaho's Built to Spill has acquired his guru status by simpler means--he combines his trippy, meandering guitar style with classic pop structures. Doug Martsch also wins points for singing about small-scale moments as well as huge moral abstractions, from watching TV to contemplating the center of the universe. By subtly balancing the forest of dense guitars with Doug Martsch's oddly prosaic yet uncannily beautiful singing, Built to Spill hold the rare achievement of making music that's rooted yet allows you to fly. Time Trap begins with a harplike guitar line floating above a heavy wave of distortion, drifts into a reggae pattern, and eventually rises to the high step of musical theater. The charming and funny You Were Right decides once and for all which of the classic-rock clichÉs ring true. You were wrong when you said, 'Everything's going to be all right' / You were right when you said, 'We're all just bricks in the wall.' It is a richly deserved analysis from alt rock's heroic Everyman.

The Secret Life of Pets is a 2016 American 3D computer-animated buddy adventure comedy film. It is directed by Chris Renaud and Yarrow Cheney (Despicable Me 1&2)and written by Brian Lynch, Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio. The film stars American comedians Louis C.K. (terrier Max) and Kevin Hart (white rabbit Snowball) as voice actors. The film tells the story about Max's quiet life in his Manhattan apartment, which is disrupted when his owner Katie adopts a stray dog Duke. What follows is a hilarious rollercoaster of events in the sewers of Manhattan, a love interest and friendship.

The Secret Life of Pets premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on June 16, 2016. Upon release, it received positive critical reviews and became the highest grossing non-Disney original animated film of all time.

The film's score was composed by French film composer Alexandre Desplat, who has won an Academy Award for his score to the film The Grand Budapest Hotel. Secret Treaties (Speakers Corner) (Awaiting Repress)

Back in the days of hard rock and surrounded by fierce competitors with such great names as the Doors, Black Sabbath and the Rolling Stones, a band had to attract attention with far more than histrionic pathos, biker boogie, an adept lead guitarist and a sharp-tongued singer. The band Blue Öyster Cult, founded on Long Island in 1971, possessed all this and much more, relating short scenarios in their lyrics, which conjured up people's imagination. Rolling Stone magazine enthused that it was »like listenin' to Hitchcock and Kubrick swap stories about their wet dreams«, and that the group »mix aesthetics and ass-kicking rock to such good advantage«.

In their third studio album Secret Treaties, BÖC reached the pinnacle of their musical evolution with such memorable songs as Career Of Evil, Subhuman and Astronomy. The lyrics have literary value but are certainly not intended for sensitive souls - the phrases are direct and intentionally drily articulated. The music is as blatant and extroverted as the lyrics: the guitar sound is steely and straightforward, occasionally padded out with a see-sawing Hammond groove, and topped again and again by wonderfully rough string solos that speak the language of hard, merciless and full-bodied rock.

    Musicians:

    • Eric Bloom (guitar, keyboards, vocal)

    • Allen Lanier (keyboards, guitar, synthesizer)

    • Donald 'Buck Dharma' Roeser (guitar, vocal)

    • Joe Bouchard (bass, vocal)

    • Albert Bouchard (drums, vocal)

Recording: 1974 by Tim Geelan and Jerry Smith

Production: Murray Krugman and Sandy Pearlman

    About Speakers Corner

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

The Secret Cinematic Sounds of Jimmy Urine

For over a decade, Mindless Self Indulgence, a four-member outfit based out of New York City featuring frontman Jimmy Urine, have been whipping crowds of eager fans in to furious riots with their heart-pounding electro-punk and death-defying stage antics. Over the years, they developed a devoted following, spawned bidding wars between major labels, and earned a reputation as a tough live act to follow, from clubs to arenas.

With MSI currently on hiatus, Jimmy Urine is extending his creative palette in movie soundtracks and video game music including 'Metronomicon', 'I Want To Be Human', 'The Hive' and more. He has now collected all those songs and is releasing them as one compilation album that will be out on vinyl via The End Records.

In addition to this album, Jimmy Urine is also appearing in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. II movie.
