180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl & Gatefold Jacket

The Allman Brothers Band's comeback album, and their best blues-based outing since Idlewild South that restored a lot of their reputation. With Tom Dowd running the session, and the group free to make the music they wanted to, they ended up producing this bold, rock-hard album, made up mostly of songs by Dickey Betts (with contributions by new keyboardman Johnny Neel and lead guitarist Warren Haynes), almost every one of them a winner. Apart from the rippling opening number, Good Clean Fun, which he co-authored, Gregg Allman's contribution is limited to singing and the organ, but the band seem more confident than ever, ripping through numbers like Low Down Dirty Mean, Shine It On, and Let Me Ride like they were inventing blues-rock here, and the Ornette Coleman-inspired True Gravity is their best instrumental since Jessica.

The Magnificent Seven is a remake of the 1960s western film, which in turn was a remake of the 1954 Japanese classic film, Seven Samurai.

As the town Rose Krick is put under the siege of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue, the residents enlist the help of seven outlaws. Headed by bounty hunter Sam Chisolm they ought to protect them while they prepare for the anticipated violent confrontation. However, upon meeting the town's residents, the Seven find themselves fighting for much more than money.

The film stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D'Onofrio, Lee Byung-hun, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier, Peter Sarsgaard and Haley Bennett.

Multiple Award Winning composer James Horner was asked to write the film's score but died on June 22, 2015. Nearly a month after his death movie director Antoine Fuqua learned that James Horner had already started working on music for the film before filming commenced. Horner's friend and score producer Simon Franglen co-composed the score after Horner's death. This score will be the final James Horner score to be released posthumously.

    The Desaturating Seven

Pressed On Clear Vinyl With Rainbow Splatter

Primus are excited to announce their ninth studio album The Desaturating Seven.

This is the first studio album of original material since 1995's Tales From The Punchbowl with the classic Primus line-up of Les Claypool (vocals, bass), Larry LaLonde (guitar) and Tim Alexander (drums). The Desaturating Seven is inspired by a 1970's children's book Claypool often read to his kids when they were growing up. The book tells a story of seven goblins one representing each color of the rainbow who simultaneously pull all of the color out of the world.

Many years ago when my children were little kidlets scurrying around the place wreaking havoc and whatnot till it was time for bed and book time, my wife turned them on to a book called 'The Rainbow Goblins' by Ul De Rico, Claypool explained. The dark imagery and beauty of the art struck me immediately and I thought, 'this would make good fodder for a piece of music.' The use of color and darkness both in the paintings and the writing was compelling and now, near two decades later, the metaphor of greed, gluttony and deceit vs unity of the masses is eerily relevant. I brought the notion to the Primus guys and they were all for it. Plus, I figured it's about time someone brought 'Goblin Rock' back to the fold.

In 1963, Miles Davis was at a transitional point in his career, without a regular group and wondering what his future musical direction would be. At the time he recorded the music heard on this disc, he was in the process of forming a new band, as can be seen from the personnel: tenor saxophonist George Coleman, Victor Feldman (who turned down the job) and Herbie Hancock on pianos, bassist Ron Carter, and Frank Butler and Tony Williams on drums. Recorded at two separate sessions, this set is highlighted by the classic Seven Steps To Heaven, Joshua and slow passionate versions of Basin Street Blues and Baby Won't You Please Come Home.

180 Gram Reissue of Bathorys Third Album.

Under the Sign of the Black Mark is the third album by Bathory. It had a major influence on the black metal genre, specifically the Norwegian black metal scene that emerged in the early 1990s. The song Woman of Dark Desires is a tribute to the band's namesake, Elizabeth Báthory, and has become one of their most recognized early tracks. Enter the Eternal Fire was the band's first epic, reaching nearly seven minutes in length, and presaged the turn towards what would become known as Viking metal which Bathory would take on their next three records.

I'm Just Like You: Sly's Stone Flower 1969-70

Compilation And Notes By Alec Palao

An Exclusive New Interview With Sly Stone Himself

In-depth Liner Notes With First-hand Reminiscences Of The Stone Flower Era From Many Of The Participants

Features All Five Stone Flower Produced Singles Plus Ten Previously Unissued Cuts From The Label Archives

All Tracks Newly Remastered From The Original Tapes

In 1970, The Family Stone were at the peak of their popularity, but the maestro Sly Stone had already moved his head to a completely different space. The first evidence of Sly's musical about-turn was revealed by the small catalog of his new label, Stone Flower: a pioneering, peculiar, minimal electro-funk sound that unfolded over just four seven-inch singles. Stone Flower's releases were credited to their individual artists, but each had Sly's design and musicianship stamped into the grooves-and the words "Written by Sylvester Stewart/Produced and arranged by Sly Stone" on the sticker.

Set up by Stone's manager David Kapralik with distribution by Atlantic Records, Stone Flower was, predictably, a family affair: the first release was by Little Sister, fronted by Stone's little sister Vaetta Stewart. It was short lived too-the imprint folded in 1971-but its influence was longer lasting. The sound Stone formulated while working on Stone Flower's output would shape the next phase in his own career as a recording artist: it was here he began experimenting with the brand new Maestro Rhythm King drum machine. In conjunction with languid, effected organ and guitar sounds and a distinctly lo-fi soundscape, Sly's productions for Stone Flower would inform the basis of his masterwork There's A Riot Goin' On.

The first 45 came in February 1970: Little Sister's dancefloor-ready "You're The One" hit Number 22 in the charts-the label's highest showing. The follow-up, "Stanga, also by Little Sister, made the wah pedal the star. The third release came from 6IX, a six-piece multi-racial rock group whose sole release, a super-slow version of The Family Stone's "Dynamite, featured only the lead singer and harmonica player from the group. Joe Hicks was the final Stone Flower stablemate; his pulsing, electronic Life And Death In G&A" is one of the bleakest moments Sly Stone ever created on disc (Hicks' prior single for Scepter, "Home Sweet Home," the first released Stone Flower production, is also included).

This long overdue compilation of Sly's Stone Flower era gathers each side of the five 45s plus ten previously unissued cuts from the label archives, all newly remastered from the original tapes. In these grooves you'll find the missing link between the rocky, soulful Sly Stone of Stand! and the dark, drum machine-punctuated, overdubbed sound of There's A Riot Going On. I'm Just Like You: Sly's Stone Flower 1969-70 opens up the mysteries of an obscure but monumental phase in Stone's career.

    World On Fire

WORLD ON FIRE is the new album from SLASH featuring Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, and it comes on full throttle and in-your-face, a hunk of
burning rock 'n' roll that takes no prisoners. Intensifying the band's sound and vision, it marks the follow-up to their succesful and acclaimed 2012 debut,
Apocalyptic Love, also released on SLASH's own indie Dik Hayd International label distributed through Caroline.

"We've been playing together for awhile and I think it's gotten to the point where everybody's comfortable in our own skins," says Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame guitarist SLASH, who has amassed album sales of over 100 million copies, with seven GRAMMY nominations, a GRAMMY award and countless
accolades. "It turned out to be a very easy process. We definitely had chemistry from the very first time we entered a room together. It was instantaneous
    magic."

WORLD ON FIRE represents that chemistry, as SLASH, vocalist MYLES KENNEDY, bassist TODD KERNS and drummer BRENT FITZ blaze through 17
songs that run the gamut of topics, some derived from tour bus conversations between the singer and guitarist. These range from the pointed sexual
politics of "Battleground," "Dirty Girl" and "Stone Blind," the anti-war sentiments of "Dissident" and the coming-of-age saga "Bent to Fly," to such charged
issues as elephant poaching ("Beneath the Savage Sun"), child abuse in the Catholic Church ("The Unholy"), addiction ("Wicked Stone") and the perils
faced by females of a certain age in show business ("Withered Delilah"). There's also a song inspired by Mad Men's Don Draper ("Shadow Life") and a
    rockin' instrumental ("Safari Inn").

    Be More Kind

Frank Turner has announced his seventh studio album, Be More Kind, which is set for release via Interscope Records. Months after the release of Songbook, a career-spanning retrospective which also saw reworked versions of tracks from across the past decade, Be More Kind represents a thematic and sonic line in the sand for the 36-year-old. The new album combines raw political and personal universal anthems with the intricate folk and punk roar trademarks of Turner's sound imbued with new, bold experimental shades.

Be More Kind was produced by Charlie Hugall (Florence And The Machine, Halsey) and White Denim's Austin Jenkins and Joshua Block. "I wanted to try and get out of my comfort zone and do something different," says Turner. Originally, he contacted Jenkins and Block at their Niles City Sound studio in Fort Worth, Texas with the idea of recording a soul album in the vein of Dexys Midnight Runners. He found they were equally enthusiastic when he changed his mind and decided he wanted to record a more rock-led album with tints of electronic pop. "I have an obscure corner of my music taste where I'm into glitch electronic music and Warp Records," says Turner. "It's not an electronic record but I got into arpeggiator synths." While 2015's Positive Songs for Negative People was cut in nine intense days, Be More Kind was made over a period of seven months giving Turner the opportunity to turn songs on their head, try different versions, and shake up the dynamics within his band.

Turner was halfway through writing a very different sort of album, a concept record about women from history who had been ignored, when he was reading a collection of Clive James's poetry and one particular line compelled him to re-think his direction. The line, from a poem called Leçons Des TÉnèbres, reads: "I should have been more kind. It is my fate / To find this out, but find it out too late." "It devastated me the first time I read it," Turner says. "A lot of older, wiser people tend to say things like that, that the things that come out in the wash at the end of a human life are the way you treated the people around you. In the modern world, that's a lesson that all of us, myself included, could do to learn."

Turner and his band, The Sleeping Souls, were touring America in 2016 "when the world decided to go collectively nuts" and the songs that make up Be More Kind started to come together. "Somewhere in the record, there's a convergence of the ideas of personal and political, which is a central theme of the album," Turner says. One of the other driving themes of the album is empathy, even for your enemy. "You should at least be able to inhabit the mental universe of the people you disagree with. If you can't do that, then how do you communicate with people other than through force of arms, which is something we all agree is a bad idea."

The first track to be released from Be More Kind is "1933", a clattering, state-of-the-nation anthem. Furious and direct, it's inspired by articles Turner saw that suggested the alt-right was punk rock. "That filled me with a mixture of incredulity and anger," says Turner. "The idea that Breitbart or Steve Bannon think they have anything to do with punk rock makes me extremely angry." The other theme in the track is summed up by the line, "If I was one of the greatest generation / I'd be pissed / I'd be screaming at my grandkids / that we already did this." "These ideas are surfacing again that collectively as a species we've already shot down," says Turner.

    Drug For The Modern Age

Kopecky are thrilled to announce their second album, Drug for the Modern Age, set to be released via

    Quiet Nights

Originally released in 2009, Diana Krall's 12th album, Quiet Nights, is an intimate recording of ballads and Bossa Novas from the team that brought you her best-selling Grammy-Award-winning album The Look of Love. Accompanied by her quartet and orchestra, Diana turns her sensual vocals and consummate piano skills to 'The Boy From Ipanema', 'Walk on By' and other classic tunes.

    Let It Wander (Pre-Order)

LET IT WANDER signals a new beginning for the band as they move beyond their original musical mandate of evoking the spirit of the Dead and fully embrace their own personality. "More than anything, what you hear on this album is a band growing into its own sound," Casal says.

The songs on LET IT WANDER are focused and filled with imaginative musical turns. Horne and Levy form a veritable groove machine that knows intuitively when to tighten up and when to stretch out. They expand and collapse the rhythmic pocket around Casal and MacDougall, who pass melodies back and forth in an elaborate game of musical tag as they take turns adding color and shade from a seemingly endless kaleidoscope of cosmic sounds.

    Simulacrenfield

The last time we heard from Parlour was in 2005 with their Hives Fives EP. They gave us their first taste of an expanded 7-piece lineup that included founder and original sole member Tim Furnish on guitar, plus another guitar, bass guitar, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, keyboards and drums. It was a wild and exuberant live display, watching and listening to a small army turn a confined space into a boundless playground. And then, nothing for five years; no new recordings and fewer than a dozen live performances. We now realize they werent inactive, they were just scheming.

Simulacrenfield rearranges the vision set forth in previous Parlour releases, utilizing the septet for all its worth. The songs are tighter, heavier, and more melodically complex than ever before, no doubt partly contributed to the addition of Jon Cook (Crain, Rodan) on drums, and Breck Pipes (Cerebellum) on guitar. Furnish, Cook and Pipes, along with longtime Parlour member Steve Good (The Web, Sapat), have a rich and storied musical history, having played in bands together in their hometown of Louisville, KY since the late 1980s. That familiarity and inherent musical dialogue with one another can be heard throughout Simulacrenfield; the rhythm section in a tight pocket while the guitars, keyboards and brass section trade sharp melodies and chugging riffs. Imagine a heavier, more disturbing Neu! with more unexpected twists and turns (and thats just the jumping-off point).

Live At St. Pancras Old Church

In October 2013 Melora Creager and Daniel from Rasputina arrived in London to join us and multi-instrumentalist, Neil Walsh, on a small tour of English churches and halls. With only a day to practice we were all a little apprehensive as we unpacked our instruments and set up some amps in our kitchen but after a few moments as the strings, voices and guitars filled the room we knew the shows ahead were going to turn out just fine.

Melora's and Daniel's cellos and Neil's viola provided new textures and direction to our old songs and it was a tour that left us very grateful for the opportunity to play with such talented friends, to attentive audiences in some spectacular, historical places.

The last night of the tour was recorded in St Pancras Old Church, London and we will be releasing it as a limited edition LP album. The sleeve is hand-drawn and the record will be pressed on heavyweight vinyl.

In the six years since Smoke Fairies first entered a recording studio, they have made three critically acclaimed albums, supported the likes of Bryan Ferry, Laura Marling, Seasick Steve and Richard Hawley, and were the first UK act to be flown to the states to record a single with Jack White for his Third Man Records label.

Jessica Davies and Katherine Blamire met at school in Chichester, West Sussex and have been inseperable ever since, travelling to tour their music across the world.

Having earned a reputation for impressive live performances, for harmonies and intricate guitar playing.

Tell Me How You Really Feel

The Grammy and Brit nominated Courtney Barnett returns with her second album - 'Tell Me How You Really Feel.' It follows her critically acclaimed 2015 debut album 'Sometimes I Sit And Think And Sometimes I Just Sit', and a recent top 10 collaborative record, 'Lotta Sea Lice', with Kurt Vile.

One of the most distinctive voices in music, Courtney is known for mixing witty observations with unflinching self-assessment - fast forward to now and although all of the cleaver turns of phrase and an eye for story telling are still there; this new collection of songs see a more serious and outwardly tone capturing the current social landscape yet still retaining moments of intimacy and warmth. As the world becomes more familiar with Courtney Barnett these songs feel comforting and emphatic yet that raw energy and the ability to make the listener think still remain.

    Controversy

Prince's Smash 1981 LP Back on Vinyl for First Time in Ages: Provacateur Turns More Sultry and Political, Increases Synthesizers and Sonic Range

Mastered from the Original Tapes: Lacquers Cut by Bernie Grundman at Bernie Grundman Mastering

Pressed at RTI and Features Complete Reproduction of Original Packaging: Comes With Collectable Poster

Continuing on with the pioneering directions he began pursuing on Dirty Mind, Prince again comes up roses on 1981's Controversy, an enterprising record on which he turns more political and furher assimilates keyboards and synthesizers into arrangements. Dirty Mind is also home to the piano ballad and chart smash Do Me, Baby, a sensitive song that's considered by many as his finest vocal effort. Given that we're talking Prince, that's saying something.

As had already become customary, Prince again handles all production, arrangements and composition duties, using Controversy, Annie Christian, and the unsparingly direct Ronnie, Talk to Russia as potent sociopolitical statements during an era which responsibility had lapsed and conservatism set in. Willing to stir it up, Prince injects contagious grooves, melodies, and refrains into arrangements that mix new wave, rock, funk, and pop, all serving to heighten the immediacy of the lyrics. And he knows how to have fun. Saucy, stylized, and sexy, Jack U Off and Let's Work are tailor-made for getting the opposite sex between the sheets.

After more than two decades of being out of print, Controversy is finally back on vinyl--and how. Mastered from the original tapes, with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, and pressed at RTI on 180g vinyl, this is the very best version you'll ever hope to hear. No longer will you have to settle for the slightly compressed original or nearly unlistenable CD versions. Rhino's analog reissue also boasts replicate original packaging and comes with the poster that accompanied the first-generation pressings.
