    Truckin' With Albert Collins

The Albert Collins/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Series Begins!

His Groundbreaking, Earth Shattering Debut, Early 60's Texas Blues Masterpiece!

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Presentation • Anniversary Edition

Texan Albert Collins was absolutely one of the most prolific and rhythmic pioneers on the American blues scene
ever. Recording his first 45's in the early sixties and rapidly becoming one of the most in demand bluesmen of his
time, Collins was truly an American legend on the worldwide blues circuit.

While recording a plethora of singles on cool blues labels like Kangaroo, Tracie and Hall-Way from 1962 to 1965,
TCF Records released Albert's first album The Cool Sounds Of Albert Collins a/k/a Truckin' With Albert Collins from a
bunch of these wonderful single sessions. The album quickly faded into obscurity until a chance meeting with Canned
Heat. The band convinced the man to make a move to California and the rest is rock and blues history.

Upon his arrival on the L.A. rock and blues market, he soon became one of the country's leading blues guitarist
with a ton of devotees like his fans Canned Heat, John Mayall, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Robert Cray whom were all
diggin' what the bluesman was laying down.

Blue Thumb Records soon re-released his stunning first album Truckin' With Albert Collins, and now thousands
of blues fans the world over were soon discovering the classic early sixties album which boasted his hit blues singles
like Frosty, Tremble and Frost Bite.

The dozen gems that make up this jumping blues event would go on to become some of his most famous tunes
including Frosty which was covered by numerous rock and blues artists over the years, plus even more terrific blues
rockers like of Sno-Cone II, Icy Blue and the rockin' Don't Lose Your Cool.

Friday Music is no stranger to the best in blues music, and it is with much honor to announce the first time 180
Gram Audiophile Vinyl Anniversary release of Albert Collins' debut masterpiece Truckin' With Albert Collins.

Impeccably mastered by Joe "Bluesman" Reagoso (John Lee Hooker/Canned Heat/Johnny Winter) from the
original Blue Thumb Records tapes, Albert Collins' classic Truckin' With Albert Collins will truly be one of the most
anticipated blues releases of this holiday season.

To make your limited edition listening experience all the more entertaining, we are also including the very rare
gatefold album cover graphics for the first time in four decades, including the stunning essay by the legendary Pete
Welding which will truly enhance the wonderful blues within by the late great and sorely missed Albert Collins.

    Soon Over Babaluna

LP Has Been Out Of Print For Over 30 Years

Can was founded in 1968 by Irmin Schmidt, Holger
Czukay, Michael Karoli and Jaki Liebezeit who formed
a group which would utilize and transcend all boundaries of
ethnic, electronic, experimental, and modern classical music.

Soon Over Babaluma is the sixth studio album by Can,
the band's first album without a lead vocalist who does not
play an instrument, following the departure of Damo Suzuki.
The vocals are taken care of by guitarist Michael Karoli and
keyboardist Irmin Schmidt. It is also their last album that
was created using a two-track recorder taking the ambient
style of Future Days and pushing it even further.

The band's powerful influence has never diminished, and
their indelible mark is apparent in the bands who freely
acknowledge their importance - from Portishead, James
Murphy, New Order, Factory Floor, Public Image Ltd, Mogwai,
Kanye West (who sampled 'Sing Swan Song') and Radiohead
    - as well as across other disciplines such as visual art and
    literature.

Dire Straits Stretch Out With Extended, Ambitious Arrangements And Moody Atmospherics: Love Over Gold Mesmerizes With Tension, Contrast, Interplay, And Craftsmanship

Mobile Fidelity 45RPM 2LP Set Of Love Over Gold Touts Unsurpassed Spaciousness, Imaging, And Transparency: Mastered From The Original Tapes, Music Emerges With New Details And Tones

Love Over Gold Includes The Epic Telegraph Road And Aching Private Investigations: Heartfelt Narrative Songs Steeped In Patience, Drama, Sadness, And Romance

Love Over Gold is all about contrast, tension, and crafty composition. Dire Straits' fourth album finds the band continuing to evolve by welcoming increasingly bold arrangements and exploring moody variations. Parts edgy and sharp, and part seductive and relaxed, the five lengthy songs on Love Over Gold sprawl out like a long, winding road cutting through a pastoral landscape. The addition of a new rhythm guitarist, Hal Lindes, encourages deeper atmospheric interplay while the presence of engineer Neil Dorfsman - his first appearance in what would be a long string of collaborations with Mark Knopfler - ensures stunning sonic properties that now come to life like never before.

Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180g 45RPM 2LP version of Love Over Gold teems with superb balances, front-to-back soundstages, and crystalline purity. The dead-quiet surfaces and extra-wide grooves bring forward previously obscured details, extra information, and mastering-studio-quality transients. The distinctive textures of a host of instruments - marimbas, acoustic and electric guitars, vibes, synthesizers - further enhance the ambitiousness of the 1982 album.

On this audiophile pressing, everything Knopfler does seemingly turn to gold. Gearheads will hear the unique characteristics afforded by his use of a Mesa Boogie Mark II guitar amplifier (soon again employed on Brothers in Arms) and carefully chosen selection of Schecter Stratocasters, 1937 National steel guitar, and Ovation six- and twelve-string models. Reference-level separation and lifelike imaging place Knopfler and company in your room, while tube-like warmth, spaciousness, and airiness causes the music to breathe anew. This LP will be in your rotation for months.

It doesn't take long to realize Love Over Gold is like no other Dire Straits album - and a staunch proclamation of independence from a band that continued to take longer creative strides with each successive project. Fearlessly extending over metaphoric hills, valleys, and plains for nearly 14-and-a-half minutes, the opening Telegraph Road is a guitar hero's dream and exhilarating showcase for Lindes' give-and-take capabilities. In tandem with keyboardist Alan Clark, Lindes provides the ideal foil for not only Knopfler but the long-time rhythm section of bassist John Illsley and drummer Pick Withers.

Taking its time to arrive at destinations, the quintet paints evocative musical and lyrical portraits steeped in patience, drama, and, often times, sadness. Desolate emotions color the sweeping Telegraph Road and barren Private Investigations, which finds Knopfler in the role of a tired private eye contemplating the emptiness and scars of his profession. Vocally, the Dire Straits leader remains in top form throughout, his whiskey-coated rasp conveying romantic ache, ongoing frustration, and what Rolling Stone beautifully deemed wracking schizophrenia between the heart and the heartless, the loving and the pain.

Called Dire Straits' prog-rock statement, Love Over Gold is a classic that defies labeling and avoids aging.

    Blues Breakers With Eric Clapton

Ranked 195/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

    Mono Edition

1966s seminal Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton marked John Mayalls emergence as a major recording artist, as well as his commercial breakthrough. The 12-song LP, considered by many to be the most influential British blues album of all time, marked the official introduction of Mayalls long-running, ever-evolving combo the Bluesbreakers. Mayall shares the spotlight here with soon-to-be-superstar guitarist Eric Clapton (who quit the Yardbirds in order to pursue his blues muse with Mayall), along with future Fleetwood Mac co-founder John McVie on bass and Hughie Flint on drums. Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton is generally acknowledged as a musical milestone for Clapton; his scorching playing and over-the-top tone dominates the entire album. With the groups punchy performances captured in straightforward style by noted producer Mike Vernon, the album offers a potent combination of Mayall originals and distinctive interpretations of songs by Ray Charles, Freddie King, Little Walter and Otis Rush.

    Maxinquaye

Around the time Tricky emerged as a solo artist, independent of the Massive Attack collective, he was asked to describe his music. If you want to dance to it, go ahead. If you want to sit in a darkened room and let it fill your head with strange thoughts, that's fine too.

Trip Hop, a term Tricky soon grew to despise, has become so omnipresent over the years, that it's easy to forget how outside the mainstream it once was. Tricky's 1995 debut 'Maxinquaye' is one of those albums that brought the music to the forefront, entering the UK charts at #2 on its release despite a shocking lack of airplay, and ending up topping many, many year-end lists.

But despite its being a harbinger of one of the most prevalent music styles of the nineties, it exists outside of trends and time and still stands as a powerhouse of musical innovation almost twenty years on.

Vocalists Martina Topley-Bird and Goldfrapp work as modern day female Pied Pipers, luring you into Tricky's dark, menacing, haunting and overall disturbing world: a ghostly Hades painted in vivid imagery by Tricky's lisping and lilting flow on top of tantalizing beats.

    Elvis

Mastered by Joe Reagoso and Kevin Gray from the Original RCA Records Tapes

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the great depression into a poor family in Mississippi. They moved to Memphis during the early '50s, and as a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the career of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.

Elvis had the amazing ability to sing both R&B and country simultaneously. This with the persona and choreography of a Hollywood movie star on stage, the young Elvis Presley was soon touring, and over the year achieved a number of regional hit singles, electrifying audiences into frenzies wherever he performed.

The folks at RCA Victor knew that this young fellow named Elvis was destined for superstardom. They quickly bought out his contract and signed the legend to a long term deal, and his first RCA single Heartbreak Hotel forever etched 'The King Of Rock And Roll' trademark to his name. In 1956 after a chart topping debut LP, his second smash #1 album simply called Elvis truly proved once again that his career was unlike any other in music history.

Filled with more energy than a fireball, the Elvis album took off with the Little Richard classic rocker Rip It Up. Another chart topping single followed with the much revered Love Me, a song which he would perform well into the '70s. The album also featured more smash hits like the Otis Blackwell/Elvis Presley rocker Paralyzed, a blues belter Arthur Crudup revisit with Elvis interpretation of So Glad Youre Mine, and Red Foleys tender ballad about mans best friend Old Shep. In total, the album showcases twelve important Elvis Presley recordings which have truly stood the test of time.

In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the 'King Of Rock And Roll', Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Victor classic Elvis by Elvis Presley. Newport Uproar (Pure Pleasure)

The 1967 Newport Jazz Festival, fourteenth in a world-famous series, was inexplicably the first at which Lionel Hampton had ever appeared. Better late than never, the great vibist and bandleader came, played and conquered. As the crowd roars ecstatically at the end of this record, the awed but happy voice of producer George Wein is heard: »This hasn't happened since Duke « he begins, casting back in his mind to 1956 and the nearest comparable triumph.

There is nothing quite so effective as a big band at an outdoor jazz festival. So the 1967 Newport programme included those of Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Don Ellis and Lionel Hampton. Lionel knew the competition he had to face, and knew that in the festival's climatic spot - the last act on the last night - his performance would be compared with those of all the others. He prepared accordingly.
Members of his Inner Circle, the octet with which he normally works, would provide the nucleus for an orchestra largely composed of alumni from his earlier bands. When the call went out to the Old Guard, the response was magnificent, as a glance at the personnel will show. Top names in the profession came back to join him, to form one of the great all-star bands of all time. A two week engagement at The Metropole in New York, immediately before the festival, served as a prolonged dress rehearsal, where the ensembles were polished and new arrangements familiarized. Enthusiasm mounted night by night in the Seventh Avenue club, among musicians and public alike, until Newport and the evening of 3rd July were reached. Then, as you will hear, the spirit was willing and the flesh far, far from weak.

All these preparations ensured a good performance, but the spark, the magic necessary to make it a great one, had to come from the leader. Everybody knows that he is a kind of rhythmic dynamo-driving, full of energy, unsparing of himself. His commitment and conviction communicate rapidly with any audience, so that it is soon won over to his side. Yet in the long, ninety minute program, errors in pacing would have been easy, forgivable, but extremely damaging. A climax reached too soon would have led to anti-climax, and a flat feeling as the crowd left the ground. As it was, Lionel's long professional experience served him superbly, so that his program rose steadily and inexorably to the all-out, emotional frenzy of Flying Home. Like a good general, he never lost his grasp on the situation. He inspired his men by personal example on the vibes, reinforced the beat on a second set of drums, and finally brought up the reserves - Alan Dawson, Milt Buckner and Illinois Jacquet - at just the right time, and in the right spot, to secure an unforgettable triumph and a tumultuous ovation.

    Musicians:

    • Lionel Hampton (vibraphone, piano, drums)

    • Illinois Jacquet (tenor saxophone)

    About Pure Pleasure

At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.

During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.

A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.

We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.

We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.

To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Ben Webster's final American recording was one of his greatest. At 55, the tenor saxophonist was still very much in his prime but considered out of style in the U.S. and would soon permanently move to Europe. Joining Webster on this fine quartet set is Hank Jones and Roger Kellaway on piano, bassist Richard Davis and drummer Osie Johnson. Webster's tone has rarely sounded more beautiful than on Someone to Watch Over Me and Our Love Is Here to Stay.

    The Fabulous Little Richard

By the time this album was finally released in 1959, Little Richard had been out of show business for over a year, having since returned to the church and gospel music. In fact, his first gospel album came out soon after the release of The Fabulous Little Richard. Recorded in 1958 for Specialty, this album is a series of outtakes and studio tracks, many of which feature the backing vocals of The Stewart Sisters, which apparently were added at Little Richards request in an attempt to give the album a more gospel feel.

    Great Is Our Sin

Having delivered five killer albums boasting some of the most potent, technical and abrasive metal unleashed over the last decade, it would be easy for Revocation to sit back and rest upon their laurels. However, with their constant drive to push their sound ever forward and refusal to compromise their integrity, this could never be the case - and Great Is Our Sin is their most dynamic, boundary-pushing and weighty release to date.

Reuniting with producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Bleeding Through), who also helmed Deathless and 2012's Teratogenesis EP, the record packs the requisite punch, yet retains the organic feel with which it was conceived. Known for their technical prowess, the band remained dedicated to upping the ante without ever losing sight of the importance of good songwriting.

Opener "Arbiters Of The Apocalypse" makes this abundantly clear, blending together breakneck thrash, crunching death metal flavors, plenty of visceral fret abuse as well as compelling yet unforced melodies. While the songs come together to make for a cohesive record that is engaging from front to back, they are further united by the lyrical concept. To this end, REVOCATION tackles issues such as political corruption and the buying and selling of lawmakers on "Only The Spineless Survive", while on "Theatre Of Horror" reflects on the place of public execution in Medieval times, and the manner in which it was supposed to shock and entertain the populace.

Regardless of the state of the world, nothing is going to slow Revocation down any time soon. Whilst the lineup has changed over the ten years the band has been in existence, Davidson's passion has never waned, and they are arguably sounding better than ever as they look toward the future.

"We can't wait to bring these songs out on the road and perform them for different audiences all over the world. 'Great Is Our Sin' is a new chapter for the band, and collectively we feel that it is our defining record to date."

Johanna Warren is a songwriter based Portland, Oregon. Her new album, nmn, will be released worldwide on Team Love Records May 19, 2015. In Johanna's words, "This album is dedicated to the moon: by honoring her phases, I am restoring balance to my body and making peace with the cycles of all natural things; and to the divine feminine: by collectively cultivating her, may we restore balance to our world. Although Warren has lent her vocal talents to artists like Natalie Merchant and Iron & Wine, she identifies primarily as a songwriter. An intuitively self-taught guitarist, she channels powerful songs in weird time signatures and melancholic open tunings, weaving adept finger-picking with acrobatic vocal lines and carefully crafted poetry, in reverence of her patron songwriting saints Elliott Smith, Joni Mitchell and Nick Drake. God has his plans, but I've got mine, and little good will come to those who stand in line" - Johanna Warren, Noise. Approaching music as a potent healing modality, Warren cultivates and honors the physically healing properties of sound and the spiritually healing powers of artistic expression. One cold winter evening in the waning weeks of 2014, Johanna and her touring partner Mitski (Double Double Whammy) passed through the Team Love gallery space in New Paltz, NY. Johanna invited the crowd to sit down on the gallery floor for her set. She requested the lights be dimmed as she lit a white candle and burned some sage. With only the candlelight to illuminate her face and separate her from the audience, she opened herself to a crowd that was swiftly transformed from unsure and vaguely uncomfortable to enraptured and mesmerized. These moments are the signature of Johanna's live performances, in which she consciously strives to provide listeners with a portal to an alternate realm in which healing can occur. Sound and light, scent, physical space, and the web of subtle energies created by a room full of human bodies are all elements of the universe that Johanna controls and shapes. She performs the same delicate manipulations within the world of nmn, an oceanic voyage from dark to light and back that is rich in sensual language, riveting self-reflective candor and surreal sonic landscapes (created entirely with acoustic instruments and found objects played by Johanna and her engineer Bella Blasko in an empty apartment unit). However, despite stepping into the role of High Priestess for the sake of creating art and facilitating group experiences, she warns us not to attach to any divisive illusions: You say I emanate some strange magnetic power, but don't be drawn to me-I may be here today, but soon black moss will cover over my dead body. Whether singing about her own mortality (Black Moss), updating the tedium of the party that Patti Smith first told us about (This Is Why) or daring one to imagine a world that transcends our notions of "the duality of wrong and right" (True Colors), Johanna Warren is a songwriter of daring vision. Her forthcoming album nmn flies into timeless space, focusing our gaze deep into the vastness of the heavens.

    Carolina Chocolate Drops/Luminescent Orch. EP

On The Carolina Chocolate Drops' Nonesuch debut, Genuine Negro Jig, this youthful trio explored what Sing Out! magazine called the virtually hidden tradition of black string band music, reaching far back into the last century to trace its lineage from the Piedmont region of North Carolina to the British isles and Africa. Multi-instrumentalists and singers Dom Flemons, Rhiannon Giddens, and Justin Robinson transformed their findings into lively tracks that deftly blended the timeless with the modern. Near-forgotten musical history came resoundingly back to life.

On this new four-song EP, the Drops find an instant connection to the Romanian gypsy punk music of their recent tour-mates, the Brooklyn-based Luminescent Orchestrii, a five-piece group about whom the Scotsman says The balancing of frenzy and finesse is evidently a trademark displayed to its utmost in the insanely frenetic dance tunes. Human beatboxer Adam Matta also joined the two bands for this short collection: a brilliant and absolutely live-in-the-studio, no overdubs, mashup of sounds, cultures and repertoire.

These nine kindred souls seamlessly combine material already popularized by the Drops (their ingenious reworking of Blu Cantrell's brazen R&B anthem, Hit 'Em Up Style) with original material from the Orchestrii (Knockin'). They split their session time between Brooklyn and Winston-Salem, NC, but make everything sound like part of one thrillingly virtuosic jam. Instrumentation includes fiddles, banjo, harmonica and bass, plus lots of hand-clapping, free-style rapping and human beat-boxing. These tracks were recorded with such immediacy and clarity, and with such a palpable sense of fun and friendship, that listening is almost like being there, hootin' and hollerin' along with them on a makeshift dance floor. And, as with any great party, the disc feels like it's over much too soon.

Beat-Club was a German music program that ran from September of 1965 through December of 1972. It was broadcast from Bremen, Germany and is notable for being the first German show to be based around popular music, featuring artists like The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner, The Who, Black Sabbath, The Bee Gees, The Beach Boys and Kraftwerk in its seven-year run.

Rory Gallagher was one of the shows most frequent visitors performing four times in the space of just over two years. His first appearance on the program was with his band Taste in 1970 and he returned soon after with his own solo work. This 2-LP set features 12 classic versions of Rory's early solo material from three separate performances circa 1971-72. 180g double vinyl reissue from Rock Classics Records.

    Seekers And Finders

Seekers and Finders is just a very magical and playful record for us, says frontman Eugene HÜtz of renowned gypsy punk band GOGOL BORDELLO about their new album, the seventh in their wide-ranging oeuvre. It just feels quite complete in capturing the Gogol familia transcontinental lifestyle, every side of it the Good, The Bad, and the Snugly.

Written over an extended time on three different continents, Seekers and Finders finds the nine-piece multi-cultural band in top form - an aural party of violins, accordions, trumpet, marimba amongst the standard rock basics of guitars, drum and bass. I was still bouncing between Latin America and Eastern Europe when songs were emerging, but finally, as soon as I moved back to New York, it all came into focus as it always did for me here, he explains.

    Brothers and Sisters

1973 Affair Introduces Southern Rock to Popular Parlance

Dickey Betts Leads Group Through Mellower Country Rock, Pairs With Pianist Chuck Leavell

Chart-Topping Album Includes Smash "Ramblin' Man" and Favorites "Jessica" and "Southbound"

Brothers and Sisters is significant for myriad reasons. It's the first album the Allman Brothers Band made in its entirety after Duane Allman's death. It also came after bassist Berry Oakley's spookily similar passing, yet he appears on two of the songs. The 1973 set also marks the emergence of guitarist Dickey Betts as the collective's leader. And pianist Chuck Leavell's arrival. But for than anything else, the record remains noteworthy for its incredible soulfulness and completeness.

Having stayed at the top of the Billboard charts for five consecutive weeks, Brothers and Sisters constitutes the Allman Brothers Band's biggest commercial triumph. Given the circumstances surrounding its creation, such an accomplishment hardly seemed possible. Fresh from licking their wounds over Duane's tragic motorcycle accident, the group experienced dÉjà vu when Oakley met the same fate just blocks away from where his mate was killed. Rather than collapse, the Allman Brothers Band tightened up and mellowed out, inviting Leavell to join instead of recruiting another guitarist.

What the sextet gets in return for its troubles is music that marks the concrete beginnings of a form that soon become known as Southern rock. Leavell and Betts exchange notes as if the pair has been trading ideas since they were children. Slide guitars still tread over greasy grooves, yet the Allman Brothers Band digs deeper into country dirt, parlaying a twang anchored by Betts' picking and abetted by Gregg's organic, shot-of-blues vocals. The laidback vibe manifests on the signature "Ramblin' Man," a hit evocative of the record's breezy melodies and friendly interplay.

The cover art further reveals the Allman Brothers Band's mindset. Golden, tranquil, idyllic, Southern, loving: It's a paradise-longing view that would soon come crashing down in the group's lives but one that, for the duration and existence of Brothers and Sisters, remains gloriously undisturbed.

Celebrating 5 Decades Of His Biggest Soundtrack Ever!

Elvis Presley's Historic #1 Chart Topping Masterpiece Blue Hawaii

180 Gram Audiophile Translucent Blue Vinyl And Gatefold Album Cover Presentation

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso. Pressed at R.T.I

Elvis Aaron Presley was born during the Great Depression into a poor family in Mississippi. As a struggling young truck driver, he cut some demos at Sun Studios as a gift for his beloved mother Gladys. These initial songs, of which he had only paid a few dollars to record, would become the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar unlike the world has ever known.

Over the next three decades, Elvis Presley would release dozens of hit albums and tons of smash singles, spend time in the Army, star in over 35 top charting films, as well as sell out concert tours around the states and Canada making him the most successful solo artist of all time.

In 1961, his career ignited even further thanks to his highly successful Blue Hawaii movie and companion multi-million selling soundtrack album. Already gaining popularity in thanks to two chart single smashes Can't Help Falling in Love and Rock-A-Hula Baby , this masterwork soundtrack album also included a treasure trove of Elvis Presley tracks that captured a very great time in the musical history of this iconic legend. As the movie would become a major box office smash, The King kept his audience wanting more as the LP would go on to become the biggest soundtrack album of his career and one of the biggest soundtracks of the sixties. Even more hits abound with the sensational classic Hawaiian Wedding Song , the blues rocker Beach Boy Blues , and the powerful title track Blue Hawaii.

All in all, thirteen huge Presley smash recordings, all on one sensational album. In honor of the Man, the Music, the Legend, the King of Rock and Roll, Friday Music is very proud and honored to announce the first time limited edition 180 Gram Translucent Audiophile Vinyl release of the RCA Records classic Blue Hawaii by Elvis Presley.

    The Divine One (Pure Pleasure)

Recorded just after Sarah Vaughan joined the Roulette label in 1960, The Divine One found her in exactly the right circumstances to suit her excellent talents. Arranged by Jimmy Jones, who also sits in on piano, the setting was a small group that included one strong voice to accentuate hers -- and no less a strong and clear voice than trumpeter Harry Sweets Edison (the perfect accompaniment for Vaughan). The Divine One is mostly a ballads collection, and it includes a few songs that were new to her repertoire -- good choices like Have You Met Miss Jones? (aka Old Jones), When Your Lover Has Gone, Wrap Your Troubles In Dreams, and Jump for Joy. One great left-field choice is Ain't No Use, the R&B song taken as a slow torch song that Big Maybelle had first recorded (Nina Simone didn't record it until several years later). Roulette would soon push Vaughan in many different directions -- releasing over a dozen LPs in just a few short years -- but this small-group date is a gem.

    Recording: October 1960

    Production: Jimmy Jones

    Wait Don't Wait

Wait Don't Wait is the band's second full-length album - and their first release via Tender Loving Empire. Joy as an act of revolutionary defiance in the face of oppression is the name of their game, and it sounds too damn good to ignore. On the New Wave by way of Progressive Jazz banger, "Sleepy Eyes", an imposing kick and warping synth take o like a supersonic jet. In an 'I mean Serious Business' manner, Westman declares, "When the time is right I will take you home oh oh oh / When the feeling's right I will let you know," and it is clear that this is her call to make. The bounce continues, and - out of nowhere - the dancefloor falls into space and soothing jazz chords float over the classic puttering of a Roland CompuRhythm CR-78.

Just as suddenly, the four-on-the-floor beat returns, and soon saxophone, flute, guitar, and synth stabs pop in and out. Not since Beasties Boys' Paul's Boutique have such abrupt changes within one song felt so damn right. "Let Me Go", another knockout, begins with a grimy bassline and a classic hip hop clap with Westman and Vait trading verses, asking those universal questions of love and love lost. On a dime, the song transforms to near power ballad - soaring upward and lifting the listener out of the muck of the day with the refrain "Home is where I'd be if my heart could just decide", and in the same way all pop masterpieces do, it seems to end too soon - a serious 'back button' burner. With the release of Wait Don't Wait, SISTERS are not only presenting a pop record full of bangers that demands repeat listens, they are also methodically working toward creating a world that is safe for everyone. SISTERS deliver unrestrained joy, and it is desperately needed right now. The world has been waiting, but it needs wait no more.

If ever there was a "band that launched a thousand bands," it would be the Ventures. Founded in Tacoma, WA in 1958, their guitar-based instrumental sound would prove hugely influential, inspiring countless followers to pick up a guitar, bass or set of drumsticks and try to emulate their heroes. As these musical neophytes would soon learn, it wasn't as easy as it initially appeared. The Ventures were masters of tone and technique, deftly arranging their instruments in a seamless approach that was instantly recognizable.

Because they were an instrumental group, their songs needed no translation, which resulted in a huge worldwide following. While many rock bands have claimed to be "big in Japan" over the years, the Ventures were the country's first rock superstars and they maintain a devoted worldwide following to this day. With over 100 million records sold, they are the best-selling instrumental group of all time!

Sundazed is proud to rightfully address the magnificent Ventures' catalog, each title has been sourced from the original Dolton and Liberty Records' reels and painstakingly mastered to sound and feel like they were originally intended. Along with precise artwork restoration on each vinyl LP title, these new Sundazed editions stand as the definitive re-releases of these monumentally important albums!

1966's Wild Things features instrumental covers of such classics as Wild Thing, Summer in the City and The Work Song, alongside Ventures originals like Wild Trip, Fuzzy and Wild, Wildcat and How Now Wild Cow.
