    Return Of The Space Cowboy

Best selling sophomore albums are one of the music industry's rarest gems. One example of such a gem is Jamiroquai's second album Return Of The Space Cowboy. Improving on their infectious blend of funky R&B and Acid Jazz, Jamiroquai delivered Return Of The Space Cowboy in 1994, hitting the charts with a vengeance and amassing global recognition as THE leading Pop Funk band.

Incredibly groovy and tight, Jamiroquai expanded their compositions into the realms of Jazz and this was accompanied by a positive but critical message regarding human rights and environmental issues. The hits Space Cowboy and Light Years propelled Return Of The Space Cowboy into all-time favourite status among alternative Pop lovers all over the world. Now with enhanced, remastered audio.

    Beachwood Sparks

Back In Print On Blue Vinyl

The Beachwood Sparks are space cowboys -- although their self-titled debut most closely recalls the sound of vintage Laurel Canyon country-rock, its shimmering twang-pop melodies and gorgeous harmonies bask in a kind of interstellar psychedelia which lends the album an otherworldly glow. The hypnotically dreamlike instrumental passages which wind their way through luminous country-pop moments like Sister Rose, Something I Don't Recognize, and Old Sea Miner completely transform the album's chemical makeup. Rooted in the earth but reaching for the stars, the group realizes Gram Parsons' Cosmic American music aesthetic in its truest sense.

    Emergency On Planet Earth

    Import

Supercar lover and showman Jay Kay started Jamiroquai in Manchester during the early nineties, seeing their debut Emergency On Planet Earth receive massive amounts of critical and public acclaim.

Backed by an incredibly tight band, Jamiroquai delivered a Stevie Wonder-esque brand of highly infectious and addictive Funk with a capital F. So infectious in fact, it became a Pop staple almost overnight. Having amassed a huge fanbase in the UK, the popularity of this horde of planet savers spread worldwide over their subsequent two albums.

Music On Vinyl is proud to release these first three albums simultaneously, including follow-ups The Return Of The Space Cowboy and Travelling Without Moving. All three with remastered audio for maximum aural pleasure!

Kacey Musgraves presents her 4th album Golden Hour to be released on March 30th via MCA Nashville. The multiple Grammy-winning artist co-wrote and co-produced the album with Ian Fitchuk and Daniel Tashian.

Kacey reveals, "I had a different mindset this time, which was feeling rather than thinking - leading heart first." Her most intimate album to date, Golden Hour, is introduced with two key tracks, the captivating and melancholic "Space Cowboy," and the uplifting, dreamy "Butterflies."

Golden Hour follows the massive success of Kacey's critically-acclaimed albums Same Trailer Different Park, Pageant Material and A Very Kacey Christmas. Both Same Trailer Different Park and Pageant Material debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, with Kacey becoming the first solo female in 5 years to top the chart with a rookie release and only the seventh to do so in Nielsen SoundScan's 22-year history. Kacey has won 2 Grammy Awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Song ("Merry Go 'Round"), 2 CMA Awards for "New Artist of the Year" and "Song of the Year" ("Follow Your Arrow"), and an ACM Award for Album of the Year.

    Complete Albums Volume 1 (1968-1976)

Fifty Years After Steve Miller Band's First Two Capitol Records Albums Were Released In 1968, The Acclaimed Group's First Nine Studio Albums Have Been Remastered By Steve Miller And Kent Hertz For This New 180-Gram Vinyl Box Set

Steve Miller Band have announced the release of an unprecedented new vinyl box set collection, Complete Albums Volume 1 (1968-1976), which is set for release through Capitol/UMe.

Pressed on remastered 180g vinyl, the new box spans the band's first studio album Children Of The Future from 1968 through to 1976's multi-platinum masterpiece, Fly Like An Eagle. Also included in the box are Sailor, Brave New World, Your Saving Grace, Number 5, Rock Love, Recall The Beginning A Journey From Eden and The Joker.

One of the world's most commercially successful and acclaimed artist/bands in the history of popular music, Steve Miller was a mainstay of the San Francisco music scene that upended American culture in the late 60s. The Steve Miller Band released two LPs on Capitol Records in 1968: Children of the Future, and Sailor, which included 'Living In The USA', which became a staple on the new rock radio format. Next came Brave New World, the band's third album including the hit 'Space Cowboy,' and 'My Dark Hour,' which Miller recorded in London with fellow label-mate, Paul McCartney, who is credited as Paul Ramon.

After the band's next few albums, Your Saving Grace (1969), Rock Love (1971), Recall The Beginning (1972), and Number 5 (1970), Miller made some changes to the band, went to Los Angeles and produced his own record in 19 days. That album was The Joker. The title track became a Number One worldwide smash hit. Miller had crafted a brand of pure pop that was polished, exciting and irresistible that dominated radio in a way that few artists have ever managed.

His next two albums, Fly Like An Eagle (1976) and Book Of Dreams (1977), both went multi-platinum, and the hits they generated are among the most recognizable songs in pop music history. Hit followed hit in what seemed like an endless flow: 'Take The Money And Run,' 'Rock'n Me,' 'Fly Like An Eagle,' 'Jet Airliner,' 'Jungle Love,' and 'Swingtown,' to name a few. In 1978, Capitol released Greatest Hits 1974-78, which has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide. Miller's had a worldwide hit with 'Abracadabra,' the title track of his 1982 album and in 1986, a #1 Billboard Rock Album Track with 'I Want To Make The World Turn Around.' To this day, his songs are instantly recognizable when they come on the radio. Their hooks are the very definition of indelible.

    Expect The Best

Hamilton and Thomas excel at setting heartbroken lyrics to addictively catchy melodies. - All Music

....this two-person country-tinged-dream-pop band have a steady, velvety sound that you just want to wander over to on a lazy weekend. - GQ

Seven years in, Widowspeak remain purveyors of mood. They're an outfit ever preoccupied with the influence of place and the passage of time on personal experience: the way vivid memories can feel like movies or dreams. Existing In a sonic overlap of somber indie rock, dream pop, downtrodden shoegaze,slow-core and invented cowboy grunge, Widowspeak use familiar aesthetics as a narrative device, a purposeful nostalgic backdrop for songs that ask,How Did we get here? Expect the Best, their fourth for Brooklyn's Captured Tracks, sees Widowspeak finding balance between opposing forces: darkness and light, quiet and loud, tension and calm.

Written while singer and songwriter Molly Hamilton and lead guitarist Robert Earl Thomas were living in Tacoma, WA after previous stints in upstate New York and Brooklyn, so much moving around -- specifically the move back to the place she grew up -- was the catalyst for a record concerned with self examination and the sense of dread that comes from feeling adrift (Dog).Whether navigating the anxieties of the digital age (Expect the Best), struggling for motivation (When I Tried), or critiquing wanderlust and aspiration(The Dream), the songs recognize there's no going back in time. Hamilton's Lyrics explore the space between regret and anticipation, reconciling the desire to dwell with a need to expect the best, even as the best seems unlikely.

Although Widowspeak's previous two records -- Almanac (2013) and All Yours(2015) -- were conceived as a duo, Expect the Best finds them playing to the specific strengths of their current touring incarnation. The album exhibits a palpable energy that reflects the band's live shows.. The band navigates dynamic changes with subtlety and restraint; the nine tracks brim with both wide-eyed optimism and resigned melancholy. Their usual palette of dusty guitars and angular twang are still front and center, but now with a 90s homage, even if abstractly. It's their heaviest record to date, but never loses the sense of intimacy Widowspeak is known for.

    Emmaar

    Contains CD Of Full Album

The desert is a place of hardship and subtle beauty, a stark world that reveals its secrets slowly and carefully. For the renowned Saharan band TINARIWEN, the desert is their home, their hypnotic and electrifying guitar rock reflecting the complex realities of their homebase in North West Africa. The band releases their new album Emmaar in 2014.

Emmaar is the follow up to the group's 2011 album Tassili, recorded in the Algerian desert with an esteemed cadre of musicians including Wilco's Nels Cline and TV on the Radio's Tunde Adebimpe and Kyp Malone - the album won a Grammy for Best World Music.

But due to political instability in their homeland, TINARIWEN recorded the new record in another desert: Joshua Tree, California. Created over three weeks in the region known for spaced-out rock 'n' roll and psychedelic cowboy folk, Emmaar showcases an organic feel from the rolling hand drums and meandering guitars of album opener "Toumast Tincha" chants to the galloping beats of the forward-marching "Chaghaybou." "We were not in a proper studio or outside in the desert like Tassili," Ag Leche says, "we built a studio in a big house in Joshua Tree. Everybody in the same room, with no separation. We wanted something which sounded natural and live."

Along with the original members who founded the group in the 1980s (vocalists and guitarists Ibrahim Ag Alhabib, Abdallah Ag Alhousseyni, and Alhassane Ag Touhami) and the younger generation who grew up listening to the band and joined in the 1990s (multi-instrumentalist Eyadou Ag Leche, guitarist Elaga Ag Hamid, and percussionist Said Ag Ayad), a group of American musicians appear on the album. Accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer, Matt Sweeney from Chavez, Nashville fiddler Fats Kaplin, and poet Saul Williams, Emmaar (mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, The Dead Weather ) is a richly layered listen solidified by atmospheric textures and gritty guitar-work.
