The Amazing Spider-Man SoundtrackOne of the big names in modern film music, James Horner, wrote the score having more than 100 to his credit. He is best know as the composer of the orchestral film soundtrack, Titanic, in 1997. He is the winner of two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes (in both cases Best Original Score for Titanic and Best Original Song for My Heart Will Go On in the same film), and gained eight further Academy Award nominations. His best-known work includes the soundtracks of such classics as Aliens (1986), Braveheart (1995), A Beautiful Mind (2001) and Avatar (2009). Horner's music underlines both the exciting action of the film and its personal, touching, romantic moments. Seeking a composer who could express both grandeur and intimacy, movie director Marc Webb felt that Horner was a genius at exactly that. I wanted to create a score that felt massive and huge but also intimate and small. (Webb).1. Main Title - Young Peter

BromstFusing the growing intensity of his live performances with his background in electro-acoustic composition, the result is a collection of pieces that are intense and epic, and at the same time, down to earth and welcoming. Unlike the completely electronic Spiderman Of The Rings, the instrumentation on Bromst is a mixture of acoustic and mechanical instruments, samples, and electronics. The intricate and complex parts are woven together into a rich, dense, and noisy dance pop that has become Deacon's signature sound.1. Build Voice

Gliss RifferDomino is proud to announce Gliss Riffer, the new album from Dan Deacon.
Gliss Riffer marks new territory for Deacon who, following up on the release of his large
ensemble-based recordings - 2009's Bromst and 2012's America - decided to return to
a simpler way of writing and recording, similar to that of 2007's Spiderman of the Rings,
which resulted in this self-produced album.
Despite being predominately electronic, Gliss Riffer's sonic palette is informed by his
post-Spiderman of the Rings material. The Disklavier, a MIDI-fed player piano first heard
on Bromst, is present here. Cross-rhythms suggestive of America's orchestral songs
and Deacon's art music work (including a Carnegie Hall performance and film score for
Francis Ford Coppola) are also in evidence. While Gliss Riffer contains all the instrumental
layering we've come to expect, the vocals are mixed with a prominence ("Feel the
Lightning," "Learning to Relax") and, at times, a clarity ("When I Was Done Dying") that
have never been heard on a Dan Deacon record before.
Gliss Riffer trades in exuberant, uncontained fun that is tempered by lyrics that yearn
and are set in defiance of life's nagging anxiety. The bliss on this record is well-earned.1. Feel the Lightning

The Theory Of EverythingThe Theory of Everything is the extraordinary and uplifting story of one of the world's greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, and of two people defying the steepest of odds through love. The film, based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen by Jane Hawking, is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (Man on Wire).
The score for The Theory of Everything is by Icelandic Composer Jóhann Jóhannsson who has composed music for many films including his recent work scoring director Denis Villeneuvue's film Prisoners and Josh C. Waller's McCanick. Jóhannsson's intricate compositions provide a stunning backdrop to the romantic drama about Stephen and Jane Hawking, portrayed in the film by Eddie Redmayne (Les MisÉrables) and Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2).
Jóhann has released several solo albums on the labels 4AD and Touch and is equally at home writing commissioned works for contemporary ensembles such as Bang On A Can and Theatre of Voices as he is collaborating with artists like Barry Adamson; Finnish electro band Pan Sonic, Marc Almond, The Hafler Trio, the nom de musique of English avant garde composer Andrew M. McKenzie, CAN drummer Jaki Liebezeit and Stephen O'Malley of the drone metal band Sunn O))).LP1

Metallica Through The Never
Black, Red, & White Colored Vinyl
Award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal (Predators, Kontroll) creates a groundbreaking 3-D motion picture event, Metallica Through the Never. The music-driven feature film combines a bold narrative and spectacular live-performance footage of one of the most popular and influential rock bands in history to produce a bracing, raw and visceral cinematic experience. Emerging young star Dane DeHaan (The Place Beyond the Pines, Kill Your Darlings, The Amazing Spider-Man 2) portrays Trip, a young roadie sent on an urgent mission during Metallica's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena audience.
Metallica Through The Never is written and directed by Nimród Antal and produced by Charlotte Huggins (Journey to the Center of the Earth). The film was released by Picture house in North America on September 27, 2013, exclusively in over 300 IMAX® 3-D theaters, and expanded into additional theaters on October 4, 2013.
Recorded live at Rexell Place, Edmonton, Alberta on August 17 & 18, 2012 and at Rogers Arena, Vancouver, British Columbia on August 24, 25 and 27, 2012, the soundtrack consists of 15 classic Metallica songs - from their early work (Hit The Lights) to the more recent (Cyanide).
In true Metallica concrert tradition, the album kicks off with Ennio Morricone's The Ecstasy of Gold from the film, The Good The Bad, And The Ugly.
Metallica is easily one of the best, most influential heavy metal band of the '80s. Responsible for bringing the genre back to Earth, the bandmates looked and talked like they were from the street, shunning the usual rockstar games of metal musicians during the early '80s. They expanded the limits of thrash, using speed and volume not for their own sake, but to enhance their intricately structured compositions.LP 1

The single Bother, which was featured on the Spider-Man soundtrack (credited only to Taylor), peaked at number 2 on the Mainstream Rock Chart as well as number 4 on the Modern Rock Tracks and 56 on the Billboard Hot 100. Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Original Broadway Cast Recording)Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, produced by Jason Howland and Steve Sidwell with Kurt Deutsch serving as executive producer, was recorded Feb. 17.
The musical's score comprises songs Carole King penned with Gerry Goffin as well as tunes Barry Mann wrote with Cynthia Weil.
Based on King's life and music, Beautiful had its world premiere earlier this season at San Francisco's Curran Theatre. The Broadway production began previews Nov. 21, 2013, prior to an official opening Jan. 12 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Paul Blake and Sony/ATV Music Publishing produce the musical that features a book by Academy Award nominee Douglas McGrath, who collaborated with Woody Allen on the screenplay for Bullets Over Broadway. He also penned Infamous and Emma.
Marc Bruni (Pipe Dream, Ordinary Days, Old Jews Telling Jokes) stages the production with choreography by Josh Prince and musical direction by Jason Howland.
Tony Award nominee Mueller (Mystery of Edwin Drood, On a Clear Day, Nice Work If You Can Get It) stars as King. Appearing as her musical collaborators are Jake Epstein (Degrassi, Spider-Man) as Gerry Goffin, Anika Larsen (Xanadu, Avenue Q) as Cynthia Weil and Jarrod Spector (Jersey Boys) as Barry Mann. Principal casting also includes Jeb Brown as producer/publisher Don Kirshner and Liz Larsen as King's mother, Genie Klein.
The ensemble features Ashley Blanchet, E. Clayton Cornelious, Joshua Davis, Alysha Deslorieux, Kevin Duda, James Harkness, Carly Hughes, Sara King, Rebecca LaChance, Douglas Lyons, Chris Peluso, Gabrielle Reid, Rashidra Scott, Sara Sheperd, Yasmeen Sulieman, Daniel Torres, Melvin Tunstall and Alan Wiggins.
The complete creative team includes Derek McLane (set design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), Brian Ronan (sound design), Charles G. LaPointe (wig and hair design), Steve Sidwell (orchestrations and music arrangements), Jason Howland (music supervision) and John Miller (music coordination).
Here's how the creators bill the musical: Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, Brooklyn girl with passion and chutzpah. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock 'n' roll. But it wasn't until her personal life began to crack that she finally managed to find her true voice. Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.
Beautiful is produced by Paul Blake, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, Jeffrey A. Sine, Richard A. Smith, Mike Bosner, Harriet N. Leve/Elaine Krauss, Terry Schnuck, Orin Wolf, Patty Baker/Good Productions, Roger Faxon, Larry Magid, Kit Seidel, Lawrence S.
