Greatest Hits Volume IIFrom 1978 through 1988, Journey was undisputedly one of the most popular and successful bands in the US. Their original studio albums were massive sellers, with more than 30 singles reaching Billboards Top 100 charts. Journeys success grew with each release, selling out stadiums across the U.S., and for all intents and purposes inventing the AOR radio format (Album Oriented Rock).
During the bands hiatus in 1988, the Greatest Hits album was issued, surveying tracks from the bands 7 albums. Over the years, Journeys music has been used in films and recently in several high-profile TV shows (particularly the song Dont Stop Believin). Now 16x Platinum in the U.S., Journeys Greatest Hits has truly taken on a life of its own.
But as successful as Greatest Hits is, its only a part of the Journey story. Several Top 40 and Top 20 singles were not included such as Stone In Love, Anytime and Feeling That Way, as well as songs near and dear to principal songwriters Steve Perry, Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain. For those who love the Greatest Hits and want more, Columbia/Legacy is proud to release Greatest Hits 2.LP 1

One WorldOne World is a 1977 album by John Martyn. One of his more experimental works, it features atmospheric, reggae influenced rhythms and free-flowing, jazzy arrangements. Acclaimed for its collaborative spirit, the album includes contributions from Lee Perry on Big Muff, and Steve Winwood (keyboards). Contemporary reviews were positive, with the NME declaring the album mean, moody and magnificent.1. Dealer

RevelationDub reggae legend Lee Scratch Perry delivers a second follow-up to his Grammy-nominated collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Steve Marshall and producer John Saxon. Perry continues to create unique, category-defying music. For the uninitiated, Lee Scratch Perry is one of the most important figures in the history of reggae music. Not only did he help develop the early reggae sound captured in a number of important recordings, but as an engineer, producer, songwriter, and performer he pioneered a number of innovations, including dub reggae. Lee Perry again draws his narrative from his spirituality and today's global events. Very special guests Keith Richards and George Clinton again join Marshall, with Duncan & Green, Tim Hill, Dr Sleepy, Alec Hay, elodieO & Abi Browning, and David Stewart Jones also featured.1. Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me SoundtrackHonored in 2012 with the GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award, Country Music Hall of Fame member Glen Campbell has recorded his last song.
I'm Not Gonna Miss You was written by Campbell and Julian Raymond specifically for a new documentary titled GLEN CAMPBELL: I LL BE ME. Produced by Raymond, the song was recorded in the Los Angeles-based Sunset Sound Factory and East West Recording Studios.
With a mere handful of piano chords, then a swell of harmonies, I m Not Gonna Miss You opens into the poignant, yet clear-eyed revelation of the things Alzheimer s steals. Almost lumbering through the melody, Campbell s weathered tenor confesses the painful truths of what is lost, the cost and the reality that it will all be lost to him, the man who can t remember. Pedal steel weeps, strings bathe the melody that rises against drums and an electric guitar that mirrors the unbreakable passage of life and time.
GLEN CAMPBELL: I LL BE ME is an epic human drama that intimately showcases the man and his music throughout Campbell s struggle with Alzheimer s. Chronicling the story of love, laughter, resilience and power of song, this film shows how against all odds, America s greatest country star would not give up. Directed and produced by James Keach (producer of Walk The Line) and produced by Trevor Albert (Groundhog Day).
Big Machine Records will proudly release a soundtrack for the film that also features The Band Perry, who previously paid tribute to Campbell during the 2012 GRAMMY Awards. The project also features Campbell s daughter Ashley who performs an original song.
We are so honored to not only release Glen Campbell s final recording, but to be associated with such a profound film that will help raise awareness of those suffering from Alzheimer s and spotlight the important role of those who care for them, remarked Big Machine Label Group President & CEO Scott Borchetta who serves as the project s Executive Producer with Keach.
Additionally, several of today s biggest musical stars appear in the film to pay tribute to the legend including Bruce Springsteen, Bill Clinton, The Edge (from U2), Paul McCartney, Jay Leno, Vince Gill, Jimmy Webb, Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Steve Martin, Chad Smith, and The Band Perry.1. Silk Degrees (Pure Pleasure)Boz Scaggs is a unique and marvellous singer. His soulful voice can be, in turn, silky-smooth and sensual or funky and upbeat, depending on the material, but it is always compelling. This voice comes through superbly on the ten great tunes featured on Silk Degrees.
Scaggs, a solid composer in its own right, wrote three tracks on his own, co-wrote five more with David Paich. Paich contributed the delightful Love Me Tomorrow by himself while the remaining tune is a cover of Allen Toussaint's excellent What Do You Want the Girl To Do.
Stylistically, the compositions are a nice blend of Philly soul influenced pop and rock. The production is very slick and sophisticated thanks to the arrangements by future Toto's keyboardist David Paich, to the orchestral direction (strings and brass) by Sid Sharp, to the soulful back-up vocals and to the sheer artistry of all the musicians involved. A classic of elegant, well crafted music.

About Pure Pleasure
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Pure Pleasure all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existent tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasize that Pure Pleasure Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.1. What Can I Say

Thom Chacon (Out Of Stock)Thom Chacon could well be the subject for one of his own evocative songs. On his self-titled sophomore album on the Pie label, the Durango, CO, singer-songwriter takes on the "American Dream" in no uncertain terms. Recorded at producer Perry Margouleff's famed Pie Studios in Glen Cove, N.Y., with Bob Dylan's rhythm section of drummer George Receli and bassist Tony Garnier, Thom Chacon offers a series of compelling narratives that focus on the forgotten members of society.
Singer/songwriter Thom Chacon delivers hardscrapple tales in a voice well-suited to the task that will immediately remind you of what's his name? Maybe John Prine, or John Mellencamp, or Steve Earle or Bruce or Guy Clark or?
But after a spell you'll just hear Chacon. His storytelling is as direct as his vocals. His melodies are serviceable and well-drawn, but not yet instantly memorable. It took a few plays to hear past the obvious influences but after that, this album makes for a consistently entertaining spin.
If you're looking for allegory look elsewhere because Chacon's words are to be taken literally. His stories are of the wrongly convicted, the hunted illegal, the wanted, the indebted living the American Dream worth more dead cause baby I owe, the hooked on alcohol (etc.). If you're looking for happy tunes, you've come to the wrong place, not that Chacon's characters complain. They are mostly defiant, heroic and stoic.
The action mostly takes place on the Southwestern American border and the parched-throated Chacon sounds as if he's not had water in days. He's playing guitar and harmonica recorded live in the studio and backed by, among others, Dylan's rhythm section of drummer George Recile and bassist Tony Garnier who keep the proceedings moving smoothly, yet turbulently throughout.
The live-in-the-studio production by Perry Margouleff engineered by William Wittman at Margouleff's Pie Studio was recorded and mixed in our favored analog domain and mastered that way by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound so can you guess how this LP pressed at Quality Record Pressings sounds?
I'll put it to you this way: if Ain't Gonna Take Us Alive, with its 12 string electric doesn't deliver the chills on your stereo, your stereo needs work.
The sound is immediate, unprocessed, three-dimensional and as deep and honest as Chacon's songwriting and singing. The dynamics and instrumental textures are as good as you will hear on a record-or live for that matter. The bass line erupts in a way you may have thought was extinct on modern recordings. Why can't everything sound this good?
