4 is the fourth album released by American grunge rockers Stone Temple Pilots, released in 1999. The album was a return to the band's earlier Hard Rock roots, while also blending elements of Heavy Metal, Psychedelic Rock, and Alternative Rock.

Despite the lack of promotion due to singer Scott Weiland's one-year jail sentence shortly before the album's release, No. 4 was certified Platinum by the RIAA in 2000. The song Down was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the Grammy Awards. The album also produced one of STP's biggest hits, Sour Girl, which charted at #78 on the Hot 100, their only song to appear on that chart.

No.4 displays a deliberate effort by the band to return to a more Hard Rock-oriented sound featured on its first two albums. Allmusic cited the album as STP's hardest effort since Core, remarking that it's as if STP decided to compete directly with the new generation of alt-metal bands who prize aggression over hooks or riffs. Stephen Erlewine also wrote that No.4 consolidates all [of STP's] strengths.

    Stone Temple Pilots

Stone Temple Pilots have announced the vinyl version of its highly anticipated, new self-titled album, Stone Temple Pilots. This marks the band's first album with the new lead singer, Jeff Gutt.

Despite being one of the best-selling bands of the 1990s with platinum records and a Grammy to its credit, guitarist Dean DeLeo says, This new incarnation of STP is focused on what lies ahead. The best way for us to honor our past is to build on it and keep making new music.

The band does just that on Stone Temple Pilots. Straight-ahead rockers like the first single Meadow and Never Enough channels the gritty guitars and swaggering rhythms that STP perfected on Core (1992), Purple (1994), and No. 4 (1999). Roll Me Under glides along a nimble bass line before slamming hard into gear during the chorus, where Gutt's muscular baritone roars against a rage of power chords.

The third Stone Temple Pilots album received critical acclaim for its broad spectrum of sounds - it proved the Pilots are anything but a one-day fly and also their Grunge roots (although being accused of being too 'commercial' sounding for true Grunge standards) are still firmly in
    place.

Guitarist Dean DeLeo is a true master of hooks and his palette of chords and melodies seems endless. Singer Scott Weiland's out-of-this-world lyrics set him apart as a true showman.

By slightly accentuating their music with Pop influences, this very strategy allows STP to distinguish themselves from the pack of flannel wearing, long haired bands that were raiding the airwaves in the '90s.

AudioQuest is pleased to present Perch-a headphone
stand ideal for safely storing and displaying NightHawk,
NightOwl, and other headphones. With its heavy base
of die-cast zinc, tall strong steel frame, and curved
eco-leather headband support, Perch provides an
attractive, structurally sound foundation for any
headphone, regardless of earcup size, headband
    construction, or cable length.

    Many popular headphone stands
are designed a way that causes
    the accompanying headphone to
hang askew or forces the headband
    to open wide, thereby gradually
    misshaping the headpad and
    earpads, and placing undue tension
on the headband. Over time, such headphone stands
can actually harm their accompanying headphone,
straining the important ergonomic elements that
    contribute to comfort and wearability.

Perch, however, allows the headphone to rest naturally,
evenly distributing its weight across the entire headpad,
never placing stress on the band, and ultimately
    preserving the headphone's structural integrity.
Further, unlike other designs that require the owner
use two hands merely to place or remove headphones,
Perch's design allows for simple one-handed access.

Perch requires no assembly. Just add headphones.

The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders

Led by maverick folksters Peter Stampfel and Steve Weber, the Holy Modal Rounders were an eye-opening blend of Greenwich Village strum, Kentucky bluegrass and Appalachian drone-topped off with enough mind-altering chemicals to derail the Wabash Cannonball. The Rounders' 1968 masterpiece, The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders, spotlights The Bird Song, an infectious ditty used in the Easy Rider soundtrack, the squealing majesty of Werewolf and drug-addled ramblings like My Mind Capsized and The STP Song (it wasn't about that slippery engine oil). Sam Shepard, the Rounders drummer (and soon-to-be-acclaimed playwright), even muffs the words to the pledge of allegiance, transporting you to the era as surely as a truncheon to the head at the 1968 Democratic National Convention. Here's an exact High-Definition Vinyl repro of the hideously rare original LP - maybe the only folk album you'll ever own that will have your mom screaming, Turn that *&!!@#!! thing down!!

Shangri-La Dee Da is the fifth studio album by American Hard Rock band Stone Temple Pilots. It was produced by Brendan O'Brien and released in 2001. The album was certified Gold.

While recording the album, the band also worked on a documentary and coffee table book. Neither was released, however, and limited footage was made available through the band's official website in the form of live performance-based music videos.

The album's most successful song Days of the Week was only being performed at a handful of dates on the supporting tour for the album. However, the album's second single Hollywood Bitch has become a staple of the band's live set ever since their 2008 reunion. In 2011, the song Black Again was added to STP's setlist, and was performed for the majority of the tour. Bi-Polar Bear was also performed occasionally, after the band reunited in 2008.
