    Autographed By Matt Sorum

    First Time on Vinyl!

    Limited to 1000

    Pressed On Colored Vinyl

After a lifetime fueling some of the most volatile bands in hard rock history, Matt Sorum is stepping out from behind the drums with a candid and versatile solo project. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, who has manned the kit for Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver and the Cult, is unveiling sophomore solo album Stratosphere under the moniker Matt Sorum's Fierce Joy, and the name couldn't be more appropriate. Coined by none other than close friend and Motörhead legend Lemmy Kilmister, fierce joy is an intentional oxymoron, representing not only Sorum's newfound contentment, but his insatiable fire to build positive things on and off the stage.

That contentment is palpable on Stratosphere opener The Sea, a lush tale of spiritual awakening in which Sorum-who wrote the entire record and played acoustic guitar and piano-sings, and the music here is so good / I'd live with orcas if I could / they all sing like Billie Holiday / to make all the bad things go away. But the record's often relaxed Americana vibe belies Sorum's intense passion for animal and human rights. He's the driving force behind nonprofit Adopt the Arts, which is responsible for generous musical instrument donations and keeping the arts vital in school curriculums worldwide.

Their sound is woozy, evocative and blatantly in thrall to the kaleidoscopic sounds of Broadcast, The BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Mazzy Star and 60's Sci-Fi soundtracks. It's beautifully listenable; A veritable tapestry of warm sounds to soothe and refresh. Their previous records have been popular but this could send them into the stratosphere

"Here's my invitation, baby / Come feel my energy," Britney Spears sings in the opening track of her ninth album. On this gorgeously produced array of hypnotic after-hours jams and gleaming EDM, Britney's energy feels pretty damn confident. I Could Sleep For A Thousand Years

Although he'll be forever known as the leader of the legendary band Swervedriver, the third album by frontman Adam Franklin (and first with his long-time band Bolts of Melody) makes a convincing argument for the band's relevance on its' own accord. Following a successful tour with label mates The Church last summer, Franklin & his bandmates quickly entered into Stratosphere Sound in New York and bashed out 12 gems over the fall and early winter of 2009 and have already made several tracks from this collection a part of their live set.

Nestled somewhere between the feel of Big Star and Sonic Youth Sleep is a perfect balance of sweet harmonies and breezy guitars, that was prevelant on 2009's critically acclaimed Spent Bullets, but is by far Franklin's most accomplished work yet. All 12 tracks showcase a proper band that has found its niche and is not afraid to let it rip without warning but also is comfortable to just lay back and capture the essence of the moment. This album proves that this is no longer a solo project for Franklin but a proper band that has discovered it's own sound. With this being the first under a full band name, I Could Sleep For A Thousand Years, is a stunning debut.

Heady Nuggs 20 Years After Clouds Taste Metallic 1994-1997

Numbered, Limited Edition, 5 LP Box Set.

Clouds Taste Metallic, the band's seventh album, is considered one of The Lips' best and earned them much critical fanfare. All-Music called it a masterful collection that completesthe Flaming Lips' odyssey into the pop stratosphere and compared it to the Beach Boys' definitive album Pet Sounds. Released on September 19th, 1995, Clouds Taste Metallic is also the last Lips album to feature guitarist Ronald Jones.

Melodically, The Flaming Lips sound contains lush, multi-layered, psychedelic rock arrangements, but lyrically their compositions show elements of space rock, including unusual song and album titles-such as Psychiatric Explorations of the Fetus with Needles, Free Radicals (A Hallucination of the Christmas Skeleton Pleading with a Suicide Bomber) and Yeah, I Know It's a Drag... But Wastin' Pigs Is Still Radical.

They are also acclaimed for their elaborate live shows, which feature costumes, balloons, puppets, video projections, complex stage light configurations, giant hands, large amounts of confetti, and frontman Wayne Coyne's signature man-sized plastic bubble, in which he traverses the audience. In 2002, Q magazine named The Flaming Lips one of the 50 Bands to See Before You Die.

    The Bardo Story

The Bardo Story is the new album by Baltimore-based musician, film maker
and artist Michael Collins, AKA Salvia Plath; formerly known as Run DMT.
The latest in a series of off-centre pop perversions by Collins, The Bardo Story
follows on from low-key but much-loved releases under the Run DMT guise,
beginning in late 2009 with Bong Voyage, a collection of dank, ultra-vivid
textural vignettes that offered a glimpse into Collins's green-fingered deft
psychedelic touch and disorientating pop potential.

2011's Dreams followed, taking the palette of colours and textures mixed up
by its predecessor and daubing them on to more fully realised, cohesive song
structures. Coming across like hyperactive doodlings in the great American
song book, Dreams was easily one of the most imaginative and unashamedly
fun records of the year and served to cement Collins's status as one of the US
    underground's most singular characters.

Since then, Collins has drifted along in a classic itinerant artist's daydream,
spending time in, and taking inspiration from, Boston, New York, Baltimore,
Chicago and Los Angeles over the course of two years and writing and
recording a huge amount of new material - both alone and with numerous
collaborators - thirteen euphoric, extraordinary moments of which make up
    The Bardo Story.

Finding Collins' at the delirious peak of his peculiar craft, The Bardo Story is
a truly twisted joy-ride through the warped psych-pop canon, as indebted to
Monty Python and the Dukes of Stratosphere as it is Magical Mystery Tour.
The vision is focused, yet fried, with Collins and his band of cross-continental
loons skipping between sun-struck, fevered freeway sing-a-longs ripe with
coy mystery and arch humour. The result is a thrillingly engrossing, positively
filmic experience of a record replete with all the mystery, magic and delight
that life can harbour - as comfortable being effortlessly charming as it is
    spectacularly confounding.

    Bluebird

    "Musically she exists somewhere between
Feist and Townes Van Zandt, and her New
    York-by-way-of-Kentucky pluck is a refreshing
    antidote to schmaltzy neo-folk"
    - SPIN

"Dawn Landes' music sits neatly on the
fulcrum between Cat Power and Neko Case"
    - PASTE

" compelling mix of alternative folk with
    instrumental experimentation just the right
    hint of country"
    - NPR

" Landes is a haunting presence in the world
    of alt-folk experimentalism.
    - BLACKBOOK

Based in Brooklyn, but raised in Louisville, singer-songwriter Dawn Landes has been writing
songs for most of her life, and at 33 already has more than a decade of experience as a
professional producer and engineer. After leaving NYU where she studied psychology and
literature, Landes began honing her production and engineering skills, working at Stratosphere Sound
(owned by James Iha, Adam Schlesinger, and Andy Chase), and at Philip Glass'
personal recording studio, before launching Saltlands Studio in Brooklyn with partners Steve
    Salett and Gary Maurer.

Her new album Bluebird was produced in collaboration with good friend Thomas Bartlett
(known for his work with The National, Sharon Van Etten, Rufus Wainwright, Antony and the
Johnsons, and many others), and features contributions from Tony Scherr, Rob Moose, and
    Norah Jones.

Press coverage of Bluebird will understandably present this album as Dawn's answer to her
ex's divorce record. However, like any great songwriter, she's abstracting her personal
narratives enough to leave them open to interpretation and a larger meaning. Bartlett's
spartan production keeps the vibe intimate, making it easy to connect with these naked and
honest songs which manage to rise above the context in which they were written. In the end,
the fact that Bluebird is Landes' way of processing the overwhelming emotions she dealt
with after her divorce doesn't matter - there are two sides to every story, and this is hers.

Bound By The Blues (Awaiting Repress)

Sonny Landreth's new album Bound By The Blues marks a return to the slide
guitarist's musical roots. It presents a bold, big-sounding collection of
recordings that climb to stratospheric heights of jazz informed improvisation,
the best of classic rock, and inevitably remain deeply attached to the elemental
emotional and compositional structures that are at the blues' historic core.
Bound By The Blues is a powerful tribute to the durability and flexibility of the
genre, and to his own creative vision. Sonny name-checks Jimi Hendrix, Muddy
Waters and some of Landreth's other musical heroes along the way. He also
pays homage to fellow slide guitarist Johnny Winter, with the instrumental
"Firebird Blues." He recreates some amazing covers "Walkin' Blues" by Robert
Johnson, and "Dust My Broom" by Elmore James.

Landreth continues to develop his vision and his musical voice, growing
increasingly original and distinctively diverse sounds expanding from blues,
zydeco, folk, country and jazz, making bound by the blues one of his most

    Ten Years After

A Premium RTI Pressing, From The Original U.K. Mono Masters

Ten Years After's self-titled debut hit the British blues scene with the subtlety and precision of a wrecking ball in 1967, serving notice that what had once been confined to steamy haunts in London was now there for the world to hear. And by the time the band electrified half a million hippies at Woodstock two years later, the world was roaring its approval. Cut live with vocals overdubbed later, Ten Years After is an impressive debut, showing off a tight band steeped not only in blues, but rockabilly, jazz, folk and even occasionally psychedelia. They rival Cream on a powerful cover of "Spoonful," which sports a heavy rhythm drive also evident on their extended jam version of "Help Me" that builds and builds to stratospheric heights. The latter allows Alvin Lee to cut loose with the fast licks for which he would become best known, but he was also capable of subtler, more impressionistic soloing on a stellar remake of the Blues Project's "I Can't Keep From Crying, Sometimes." If those three aren't enough evidence of the band's ability, then a spruced-up "I Want to Know," first done by Eric Clapton and the Powerhouse on the legendary What's Shakin' comp (also reissued by Sundazed), certainly seals the deal. But even at this early stage, Ten Years After was no cover act - throwing originals like the Robert Johnson-inspired "Love Until I Die," the country acoustic blues of "Don't Want You Woman" and the swingin' boogie of "Feel It for Me" into the mix. It was no one-man show, either - as organist Chick Churchill takes the lead on "Adventures of a Young Organ" and buttresses "Losing the Dogs" with some rollicking Jerry Lee Lewis piano. And beneath it all, there was the metronomic telepathy of the Ric Lee/Leo Lyons rhythm section. The best way to hear this classic album is in its punchier mono mix, available on vinyl for the first time in 50 years and faithfully packaged with all of the original iridescent psychedelic cover art intact.

Now Sundazed proudly presents the searing guitar of Alvin Lee & Chick Churchill's haunting organ textures as they were meant to be heard, from the original U.K. MONO masters and pressed on premium RTI vinyl!

The marvelous title track alone, with Eddie Kendricks gliding into the stratosphere, made this an instant winner. There were several fine songs that weren't hits, such as Not Now, I'll Tell You Later and I've Been Good to You, and there sure wasn't anything wrong with powerhouse cuts like Ain't Too Proud to Beg. The Temptations would score four straight number one hits in the mid-'60s, each one an unforgettable classic.

    E.S.P.

    Numbered, Limited Edition

    Pressed At RTI

A landmark recording and masterful symphony of performance, composition, and execution, Miles Davis' E.S.P. established the template jazz would follow for the following decade. The 1965 record splits the gap between accessible hard-bop and the cutting-edge approach Davis increasingly pursued into the 1970s. Adventurous, sophisticated, and yet altogether cohesive, E.S.P. stands out not only due to its elastic compositions but via its chemistry, interplay, and feeling attained by the instrumentalists. The first album Davis' classic second quintet made together, it's also very arguably the group's best. Never before has the effort been experienced in such transformational sound.

Pressed at RTI, Mobile Fidelity's 180g 45RPM 2LP set of E.S.P. treats each phrase and every note as sacred communication. This meticulously restored audiophile version renders the music's dynamics, pitch, colors, and textures with lifelike realism and proper scale. Reference-caliber separation, wall-to-wall soundstages, and distinct images magnify the intensity and beauty of Davis and Co.'s creations. Whether it's the distinctive snap of Tony Williams' drum sticks against the snare head, air moving through Davis' trumpet, acoustic thrum of Ron Carter's bass, or upper register of Herbie Hancock's piano, the sound is better than you'd even hear in the most intimate jazz clubs. Prepare to be swayed on every level.

For many, E.S.P. looms among the decade's best albums if only because of the significance of Davis' lineup. While Hancock, Williams, and Carter are holdovers that began playing with one another on 1963's Seven Steps to Heaven, Wayne Shorter functions as the secret weapon and key addition responsible for this ensemble hitting a new peak. Indeed, the saxophonist helped pen two of the seven compositions here - notably, E.S.P. is entirely comprised originals and clocked in as one of the longest-running jazz LPs issued at the time - and, more importantly, grants Davis the confidence and leeway necessary for the eruption of enigma, steadiness, and tension.

As he did with John Coltrane year earlier, Davis hangs back and picks his moments to solo, with Shorter stepping up to supply the churn. Their bandmates respond in kind, itching to take off into new stratospheres all the while keeping their improvisations grounded and connected to the piece at hand. Guided by Davis' visions and inspired by current boundary-pushing works by the likes of Ornette Coleman, Cecil Taylor, and Coltrane, the magnificent results spark with variation, harmony, emotion, energy, and brilliant movement.

Interlocking lines drive Little One, alternating rhythms pulse through the funky Eighty-One, melodies soar on the balladic Iris, the aptly titled Mood broods over minor-key structures, and Agitation - goosed by a two-minute percussive introduction by Williams - delivers on its promise. No record - and no group of musicians - have ever balanced coherent themes and exploratory playing in better fashion than Davis' quintet on E.S.P. It's the avant-garde record even jazz traditionalists love, and essential on every level.

    Quilt

Listening to their self-titled debut, it's no surprise that the members of Quilt came together out of a shared love of visual art. While their music is steeped in timeless qualities like the gorgeous harmonies on Milo or the twinkling guitar on Utopian Canyon, the entire record is full of expansive, cinematic moments. Each song can be enjoyed independently, but taken as a whole, the record becomes a world of its own: guitars drift languidly, keys sparkle in and out, often following their own threads into the stratosphere, with vocals that are at once powerful and intimate.

Jimi Hendrix's show at the Community Theater in Berkeley on May 30, 1970 has always been the stuff of legends. Although much of the performance has been bootlegged to within an inch of its life, it wasn't until 2003 that the second show of the evening was officially released.

His signature songs Hey Joe, Foxy Lady, Purple Haze and Voodoo Child sound absolutely stunning, but it's Jimi's solo on Stone Free and the tracks I Don't Live Today and Machine Gun that take you into the stratosphere.

    Dance To The Music

Sly & the Family Stone came into their own with their second album, Dance to the Music, released in 1968. It contains the Top Ten hit single of the same name. This seminal album helped lay the groundwork for the development of Funk music.

This is such exuberant music, bursting with joy and invention, it's easy to get sucked into the freewheeling spirit and cavalier virtuosity of the group. Prior to this record no one, not even the Family Stone, treated Soul as a psychedelic sun splash, filled with bright melodies, kaleidoscopic arrangements, inextricably intertwined interplay, and deft, fast rhythms.

Dance to the Music peaked at #8 in The Billboard Hot 100, and reached 9th place in the R&B Singles of 1968. The song propelled Sly & The Family Stone into the stratosphere.

    Turnstiles (Awaiting Repress)

By 1976, Billy Joel had proven his merit as an auteur of California-based singer-songwriter pop-rock. On Turnstiles, the legend focuses his attention on more ambitious matters: Making an album whose scope and range dwarf that of his previous work, and shot his star into the stratosphere. Encompassing everything from urgent rock to soft pop and saloon fare, Turnstiles is a classic of major proportions.

Mobile Fidelity has gone back to the original master tapes to present Joels encompassing music the way it was always intended to be experienced: Intimate, detailed, expressive, warm. The records widescreen sonics are at last properly cinematic, flush with colors, textures, and atmosphere.

Progressing away from sensitivity, Joel casts his eye towards broader horizons. For him, that meant moving from the West Coast back to his native New York and embracing the citys doo-wop, Broadway, and R&B heritage. Joels diversity comes through in a spectacle of memorable tunes, including the infectious All You Wanna Do Is Dance, acerbic Angry Young Man, and gorgeous Ive Loved These Days.

Still, no song better illustrates the allureand breadthof Turnstiles more than Say Goodbye to Hollywood, bathed in the sort of fabulous Phil Spector sound, huge drum echoes, and Brill Building orchestral sweep that Joel grew up on. Similarly, the sprawling ballad New York State of Mind clearly states the singers vision and mood. On the definitive track, Joel luxuriates in full string accompaniment and soulful saxophone playing that gives the pop standard its foundation. Not for nothing did Joel insist on keeping his touring band for the album, a decision that resulted in the firing of the records original producer.

Supported by talents such as arranger Kenny Ascher, guitarist James Herb Smith, and percussionist Mingo Lewis, Joel succeeds in wrapping his head around a rich swath of American pop music, stopping by way of New Orleans, Kansas City, Memphis, Chicago, and other cities on his way from California back to the Garden State. While lacking the fame of the subsequent The Stranger and 52nd Street, Turnstiles is in every way their equal.

Finally, the delicate nuances of Joels phrasing, pregnant pauses, and introspective emotion can be experienced in three-dimensional fidelity. In addition, the spectrum of the orchestras power and finesse, ravishing poignancy of the lyrics, and bittersweet qualities of the melodies bloom with unforced immediacy. The previous veiled sonic character and stultifying dryness have been corrected, presenting Joel and his crack band with illuminating precision and feeling.

Turnstiles has never sounded betterand it never will.

Float Into the Ether: Gorgeous 1969 Experimental Treasure Among the Most Atmospheric Jazz Albums Ever Recorded

Delicate, Immersing, Dynamic: Mobile Fidelity Reissue Magnifies the Bold Textures, Soothing Ambience, and Transcendent Moods

Davis First Fusion Album Features John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Joe Zawinul, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, and Tony Williams

Sketches of Spain, Kind of Blue, Milestones, Round About Midnight, and Four & More Also Available from Mobile Fidelity

Shhh. The command to be quiet is no just part of the title of one of the two sprawling compositions on this pioneering album. Its also an apt metaphor for the relaxed hypnotism and spaced-out atmosphere that define In a Silent Way, a record that pushes the boundaries of studio possibilities, artist-producer relationships, and rock-jazz chasms. Recognized as Miles Davis first full-on fusion effort and part of his electric era, the 1969 landmark claims a Whos Who lineup that sends the music into an ethereal stratosphere.

Part of Mobile Fidelitys Miles Davis catalog restoration series, In a Silent Way now immerses the listener in linoleate landscapes starlit by the intuition, suspension, and paradoxes wrought by a once-in-a-lifetime collective. Half-speed mastered from the original master tapes and pressed at RTI, this unsurpassed 180g LP edition lifts the veil on the cutting-edge assembly process that created the pair of lengthy suites. Helmed by three electric instruments, the beveled compositions melt away all preconceived notions of jazz, rock, and ambience, following a loose theory Davis dubbed New Directions.

Few albums are so delicately textured. And on Mobile Fidelitys meticulous analog reissue, such sulcate elements pour over ink-black backgrounds on a canyon-wide soundstage. In particular, Tony Williams inventive percussive touch he causes the cymbals to shimmer as a pieces of silver tend to do when exposed to sunlight is broadcast with lifelike three-dimensional qualities, the panoramic view extending to Davis nocturnal trumpet, Wayne Shorter's ribbon-unfurling saxophone, Dave Hollands extrapolative bass, and the mosaic of keys.

If the records only accomplishment is its introduction of guitarist John McLaughlin to the world, it alone would be enough. Yet In a Silent Way continues to bedazzle, puzzle, and inspire for myriad reasons not the least of which is the seemingly telepathic communicative methods employed by the groups members. The lineup is great on paper, but, if its even possible, the octet sounds even better in practice, with the instruments and tonalities conjoining in avant-garde communion like hyper-sensitive tentacles exploring the stippled landscapes of an undiscovered planet.

Diverting from expectation, tubular grooves twist, turn, and spin, sometimes piling atop of each other, always shying away from structure and melody. Ellipsoidal solos provide hesitant guidance, ranging from Chick Corea's Fender Rhodes phrases to Davis decorative spirals. And as color is the primary unit of currency on Davis Sketches of Spain, laidback episodes, geometric spaces, and quiet sensuality reign here, with the sets maverick reputation attained via musings on solitude rather than explosions of noise.

Controversial for the period, the heavily edited production of In a Silent Way blew open the once-locked doors on what producers could attempt and how artists could assist them. Knitted together as one would construct a cross-hatched quilt, songs contain grafts of repeat passages that provide unifying structure and experimental continuity. What a statement.

There's A Riot Goin' On (45 RPM) (Awaiting Repress)

Ranked 99/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Sly And The Family Stone There's A Riot Goin' On 180 gram 45RPM 2LP from ORG Music

Inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 1999 & Ranked #99 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time!

More than four decades after they first stormed the Pop and R&B charts in the winter of 1968 with "Dance To the Music" - a groundbreaking jam that has the distinction of being chosen for the Grammy Hall Of Fame, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame's 500 Songs That Shaped Rock, and Rolling Stone magazine's 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time - the music of Sly and the Family Stone is more vital than ever.

The band's catalog (every single composition penned by Sylvester Stewart aka Sly Stone) includes their three career-defining RIAA gold Billboard #1 Pop/ #1 R&B smashes, "Everyday People," "Thank You (Falletinme Be Mice Elf Again)" and "Family Affair," and their signature Top 40 hits that began with "Dance To the Music" and went on to include "Stand!," "Hot Fun In the Summertime," "Runnin' Away," "If You Want Me To Stay," "Time For Livin', and more.

Those songs not only inspired an era of youthful rebellion and independence, but also had a potent effect on the course of modern music in general. A dazzling fusion of psychedelic rock, soul, gospel, jazz, and Latin flavors, Sly's music brought the next step - funk - to a disparate populace of hip artists. From Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, to the halls of Motown and George Clinton's P-Funk, from Michael Jackson and Curtis Mayfield, down the line to Bob Marley, the Isley Brothers, Prince, Public Enemy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arrested Development, the Black Eyed Peas, the Roots, OutKast and on and on, Sly's DNA is traceable to every cell of the musical stratosphere.

Since it took almost two years to make, the fifth album by bonafide superstars Sly and the Family Stone had everyone salivating in anticipation. Needless to say, Sly did not disappoint! 1971's There's A Riot Goin' On finds the Bay Area-based genius getting funkier than ever before, even as his artistic vision becomes progressively darker. Some may have been disappointed that Sly didn't simply re-create the chart successes of earlier singles, but who can argue with the flat-out brilliance of turning recent big hit Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin) on its head to create the mind-boggling Thank You For Talkin' To Me Africa.

Two of this hypnotic album's best tunes Family Affair and Runnin' Away were gigantic chart hits, and There's A Riot Goin' On hit #1 Pop/ #1 R&B within a few weeks of its release in November, proving beyond any shadow of a doubt that Sly Stone could totally deliver the goods! A transformative masterpiece, There's A Riot Goin' On was inducted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame in 1999, and is ranked #99 on Rolling Stone magazine's '500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.'
