    Tales Of Us

Goldfrapp's sixth album, 'Tales Of Us' is written and produced by band members Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and was recorded at their studio in
    the English countryside.

A sumptuous body of work, 'Tales Of Us' has been two years in the crafting and is their most narrative, cinematic and intimate recording so far. Nothing in
their accomplished back catalog has hinted at the new lyrical breadth that the band have introduced to 'Tales Of Us'. All the songs bar one are named
in the first person with a cast list of evocative character sketches, the contrary love affairs, the suspense, hallucinations, fairy tales and modern folklores documented and the traces of redemption they find in song take the poetry of Goldfrapp's delicately considered music somewhere brand new.

In 1967 four young musicians from Nottinghamshire, England formed Ten Years After. Alvin Lee, Chick Churchill, Ric Lee & Leo Lyons became one of the most explosive quartets on the world stage and cemented themselves as one of the biggest bands in Rock n Roll history.

The band scored eight Top 40 albums on the UK Albums Chart and twelve multimillion-selling albums on the US Billboard 200 between 1967 and 1974.

In 2014 founder members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill put Ten Years After back together with a new lineup. This new and exciting lineup features British Bass icon Colin Hodgkinson (Backdoor, Peter Green, Alexis Corner, Spencer Davis, Chris Rea, John Lord) and multi British Blues Award-winning guitarist and singer Marcus Bonfanti (Van Morrison, Ginger Baker, Ronnie Wood).

This new lineup has been touring extensively since 2013 with over 150 shows under their belt and has received rave reviews from all corners of the world as they continue to produce the high energy of a vintage Ten Years After show 50 years down the line.

To tie in with the bands 50th anniversary in 2017, Ten Years After have recorded a studio album of original material A Sting In The Tale due for worldwide release in September and are touring throughout the year to promote both the anniversary and new release.

    This Is No Fairy Tale

The band comments: We are very proud to reveal the seventh track of our upcoming album 'This Is No Fairytale', which will be released within a month! This song will give you more clues about the development of the story without giving away the plot in its entire form. Enjoy our next instalment of horror called 'Killed and Served by the Devil' and let us know, if you liked the meat!

CARACH ANGREN have previously released a video clip for the opening song of the album. There's No Place Like Home is streaming here. The band comments: We are very proud to present to you this beautiful piece of horror visualizing our song 'There's No Place Like Home'. For this video we have worked together with the extremely talented Costin Chioreanu. He was able to visually reproduce the terrifying atmosphere that we aimed for. 'There's No Place Like Home' is the opening track of our forthcoming album. We hope you will enjoy watching it... And remember... This Nightmare Was No Dream!

About There's No Place Like Home CARACH ANGREN already hinted: This song will reveal the first clue of the pitch black story which is told throughout the album, and it is definitely not for the faint hearted.
'This Is No Fairytale' was recorded by Patrick Damiani and CARACH ANGREN in June 2014. Song and album were mixed by Peter TÄgtgren and mastered by Jonas Kjellgren.

Visions Of Us On The Land

"Damien Jurado is every character in every Damien Jurado song. He is the gun, the purple anteater, the
paper wings, the avalanche, the air show disaster, Ohio, the ghost of his best friend's wife."

    - Father John Misty

Providing the ideal entry point for neophytes and an intoxicating aural high for the faithful, Damien
Jurado's new opus extends the hot streak ignited by 2012's Maraqopa and its 2014 follow-up Brothers and
Sisters of the Eternal Son. Cut once again with label-mate and super producer Richard Swift at the latter's
National Freedom recording facility in rural Oregon, Visions of Us On The Land completes the tale of an
individual who has had to disappear from society in order to discover some universal truths.

Late Night Tales: BADBADNOTGOOD (Unmixed) (Awaiting Repress)

Canadian quartet BadBadNotGood take on creating the ultimate "late night" selection of tracks from their record collections.

The original trio of Matthew Tavares, Alex Sowinski and Chester Hansen formed while studying music at Toronto's Humber College (they've recently added Leland Whitty to the line-up). A shared appreciation of hip hop and instrumental covers of Gucci Mane and Earl Sweatshirt suggested a worldly outlook and reciprocated love from Tyler The Creator and Ghostface Killah, with whom they made 2015's Sour Soul. Their last album, the critically-acclaimed IV, turned heads and their collaborators continue to multiply: Snoop Dogg, Kaytranada and Kendrick Lamar among them.

"We were really excited to have the chance to put together a LateNightTales compilation, it's a great organisation. We decided to use it as a vehicle to show everyone all the amazing music we have gotten to experience by touring and meeting new people.

Every track on this comp was either shown to us by an incredible person or made by one of our friends. We also included a little cover of a song by one of our favourite current musicians, Andy Shauf. These artists, as well as many, many others, have influenced us to create, and kept our deep love of music alive. This mix will keep you company on a quiet night by yourself or with friends. You can check it out on the plane, the bus, a long walk, or any situation where you want a soundtrack for reflection and meditation."

    - BADBADNOTGOOD May 2017

You can even hear little bits of BadBadNotGood through this mix, as though they are transmitting parts of themselves through the music they select. Perhaps the keys on Admas' hilariously expensive 'Anchi Bale Game', maybe, or the arrangements on Delegation's mighty Britsoul tune 'Oh Honey' or the groove from 'Vida Antiga', Erasmo Carlos' Brazilian classic. As Janis almost sang, take another little piece of my art.

This is an international effort: Velly Joonas' Estonian version of 'Feel Like Makin' Love', Kiki Gyan, Admas and Francis Bebey representing Africa (Ghana, Ethiopia and Cameroon respectively), Les Prospection from France, Scots' Boards Of Canada and fellow Canucks River Tiber and Charlotte Day Wilson.

Finally, there's the no-small-matter of the Late Night Tales cover version, in which BadBadNotGood take on Andy Shauf's 'To You' is turned into a mournful delight. while the Queen Of Siam herself, Lydia Lunch, delivers a sexual sermon involving only you, her and Jim Beam.

Badbad, indeed: so good they said it twice.

Silent Reign Of Heroes (Awaiting Repress)

This Lynyrd Skynyrd-style, blues rock outfit emerged from the US deep south. The name derived from a tale of a woman in seventeenth-century Salem who beheaded her lovers with an axe after sleeping with them. The initial line-up comprised Dave Hlubek (guitar), Steve Holland (guitar), Duane Roland (guitar), Banner Thomas (bass), Danny Joe Brown (vocals) and Bruce Crump (drums). Their 1978 debut album, produced by Tom Werman (of Cheap Trick and Ted Nugent fame), was an instant success, with its three-pronged guitar onslaught and gut-wrenching vocals. The band then achieved a US Top 20 placing with their second album, Flirtin` With Disaster. Brown was replaced by Jimmy Farrar in 1980, before the recording of the band`s third album, Beatin` The Odds. Farrar`s vocals were less distinctive than Brown`s, and an element of their identity was lost during the time that Farrar fronted the band. Nevertheless, commercial success continued, with both Beatin` The Odds and Take No Prisoners peaking on the Billboard album chart at numbers 25 and 36, respectively. In 1982, Danny Joe Brown rejoined the band in place of the departed Farrar, while Thomas and Crump were replaced by Riff West and B.B. Borden respectively. No Guts ... No Glory emerged and marked a return to the band`s roots: explosive guitar duels, heart-stopping vocals and steadfast rock `n` roll. Surprisingly, the album flopped and Hlubek insisted on a radical change in direction. Steve Holland quit and drummer Crump returned, while keyboard player John Galvin (from the Danny Joe Brown Band) was recruited for the recording of The Deed Is Done. This was a lightweight pop rock album, largely devoid of Molly Hatchet`s former trademarks. Following its release, the band retired temporarily to lick their wounds and reassess their future. In 1985, Double Trouble Live was unveiled, with a return to former styles. It included versions of their best-known songs, plus a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute in the form of `Freebird`. Founder member Dave Hlubek subsequently departed, to be replaced by Bobby Ingram. The band signed a new recording contract with Capitol Records and returned with 1989`s Lightning Strikes Twice. This leaned away from their southern roots towards highly polished AOR. Featuring cover versions of Paul Stanley`s `Hide Your Heart` and `There Goes The Neighborhood`, the album was poorly received by fans and critics alike. A number of line-up changes ensued in the early 90s, leaving Brown as the only remaining original member. During this period he was continually plagued by illness as a result of diabetes. and eventually left Molly Hatchet in 1996 as they embarked on another recording comeback. The line-up that recorded Devil`s Canyon comprised Bobby Ingram, John Galvin, Phil McCormack (vocals), Bryan Bassett (guitar), Andy McKinney (bass) and Mac Crawford (drums). The revived band, with additional keyboard player Tim Donovan, then completed 1998`s Silent Reign Of Heroes. Further line-up changes saw mainstays Ingram, Galvin and McCormack joined by a regularly rotating cast list of musicians, as the band continued to tour and record with great success. Original guitarist Hlubek rejoined the line-up in early 2005 shortly before his former colleague Danny Joe Brown succumbed to diabetes.

A musical legacy that began in Hawthorne, California and went on to conquer the world. Analogue Productions presents the ultimate pressings of 14 essential Beach Boys albums! Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in old school Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals!

The Beach Boy's Holland, the group's 19th studio album, was recorded in Baambrugge, Netherlands in the summer of 1972 and released in January 1973. Our Analogue Productions reissue also includes a bonus 12-inch EP: Mount Vernon and Fairway (A Fairy Tale). Plus the restoration of We Got Love, eliminated from original U.S. copies of the album!

By mid-1972, with Wilson's focus waning from the Beach Boys to other creative outlets, and his personal and health-related issues mounting, Wilson was producing less music for the band than ever before. They decamped for the Netherlands hoping to jump-start Brian's creative energies.

Wilson contributed little to the album, concentrating his musical efforts on Mount Vernon and Fairway, a 10-minute long musical fairy tale eventually included with the album as a bonus EP.

The title of the bonus EP was named after the intersection where the Love family lived in Los Angeles, and where the Wilsons and Loves would gather for family celebrations back in the 1940s and '50s when Brian, Mike, Carl and Dennis were all growing up. As a concept for a Beach Boys track, Mount Vernon and Fairway initially received a less than enthusiastic response from the other band members when Brian first presented the idea to the group, and this only fueled Brian's steadily worsening depression. Eventually, Carl stepped in to produce the recording for Brian, and the decision was made to include the fairy tale in the album package as a separate EP. Brian himself designed the EP's picture sleeve.

Although Mount Vernon and Fairway (A Fairy Tale) was narrated by Jack Rieley, the voice of the Pied Piper was supplied by Brian in a slightly grainier-sounding cartoon voice.

The instrumental tracks for Mount Vernon and Fairway (A Fairy Tale) were later released on Good Vibrations: Thirty years of The Beach Boys as Fairy Tale Music.

Upon the band's return from the Netherlands in the fall, Holland was rejected by Reprise Records for not having a potential hit single. Added to the track list was an unfinished Brian Wilson song Sail On, Sailor, that he'd originally co-written with Ray Kennedy, and finally completed with the help of Van Dyke Parks, Jack Reiley and Tandyn Almer. It would ultimately become Holland's most famous track. A casualty of the album's tracklist reshuffling was another Fataar/Chaplin tune, written with Mike Love, called We Got Love. A live version was included on the group's 1973 release The Beach Boys In Concert.

Early test pressings of Holland, made in the U.S. and U.K. featured We Got Love, as did a few hundred copies pressed and sold in Germany. Early French and Canadian pressings of Holland mention We Got Love on the jacket, but the song is not on those albums. For this Holland reissue Acoustic Sounds/Analogue Productions has brought back We Got Love as a bonus track!

The highlights (of Holland are) Carl's 'The Trader,' Brian's 'Sail on, Sailor' and 'Funky Pretty' ... Al Jardine and Mike Love's three-part 'California Saga' shows the effects of their environmentalist spirituality ...(the conclusion, 'California,' is a solid return to the harmony-laden sun-and-surf '60s). 'Only with You' is yet another tender Dennis Wilson ballad, (a rare songwriting collaboration with Mike Love), given an excellent reading by Carl. - AllMusic.com

    The Living & The Dead

The Living and the Dead, Jolie Holland's new album, is quite simply a breakthrough, the album her adoring fans have been waiting for. With a vocal style hailed by the Village Voice as sultry and sweet, despairing and lonely, Jolie has experimented in the past with various settings for her unique, jazzâ€inflected voice; this time, working with collaborators like M. Ward and Marc Ribot, Ms. Holland has embraced both the rocking side of her roots and the compositional possibilities of the recording studio, multiâ€tracking her voice extensively for the first time. The results have intensified the evocative moodiness that has always existed in Holland's music, but also brought out a rollicking looseness that serves her tales of love and loss perfectly. An artist who transcends genres and demographics, Jolie Holland offers us an invite into her own warm, welcoming world.

    Import

    25th Anniversary Edition

First Pressing Of 2,000 Copies On Purple Colored Vinyl, Black Vinyl Thereafter

'La Sexorcisto : Devil Music Volume 1' was both a critical and commercial success for White Zombie, climbing up the charts in the US and gaining massive MTV video airplay and mainstream rock radio airplay with Thunder Kiss '65 and Black Sunshine. The album's sound is a mix of groove metal and funk metal with lots of B-movie samples. Tactless and continuously shocking, lyricist Rob Zombie reveals blatant tales of muscle cars, sleazy encounters, and Fangoria-mustered fantasy, clearly paying homage to vintage trash culture.

Rob Zombie explained he wanted to keep a groovable dance element in the music, a trait which is often absent in metal music. Weak appetites for raunchy, tongue-in-cheek decadence need not apply!

    From Wisdom To Baked

CANNABIS CORPSE was formed by MUNICIPAL WASTE bassist LandPhil Hall (bass/vocals) and his brother Josh Hallhammer Hall (drums) out of a mutual love of brutal Floridian death metal (CANNIBAL CORPSE, MORBID ANGEL, DEICIDE, OBITUARY) and weed. The band's earliest recordings (2006's Blunted At Birth and 2008's Tube of the Resinated) are primal homages to their influences; where relentless, jackhammer beats and sick, guttural vocals lay the foundation for twisted tales of crazed weed mayhem. Time has seen the band tour the world over, and grow into a more evolved harbinger of brutal US death. CANNABIS CORPSE' new album 'From Wisdom to Baked' will undoubtedly see the death metal powerhouse step to the forefront of the worldwide extreme scene.

    Carrie & Lowell (Awaiting Repress)

Carrie & Lowell sounds like memory: it spans decades yet does not trade on pastiche or nostalgia. Stevens's gauzy double-tracked vocals wash across the dashboard of long-finned, drop-top Americana, yet as we race towards the coast we are reminded that sunshine leads to shadow, for this is a landscape of terminal roads, unsteady bridges, traumatic video stores, and unhappy beds that provide the scenery for tales of jackknifed cars, funerals, and forgiveness for the dead. Each track in this collection of eleven songs begins with a fragile melody that gathers steam until it becomes nothing less than a modern hymn. Sufjan recounts the indignities of our world, of technological distraction and sad sex, of an age without neither myths nor miracle-and this time around, his voice carries the burden of wisdom. Carrie & Lowell accomplishes the rare thing that any art should achieve, particularly in these noisy and fragmented days: By seeking to understand, Sufjan makes us feel less alone.

    Yonder Is The Clock

The Felice Brothers (Simone, Ian, and James) and their long time friends and band mates Greg Farley and Christmas Clapton, come to us from the Catskill Mountains, where a homegrown sound has been working its way through the bloodlines for generations. Titled with a phrase drawn from the pages of Mark Twain, Yonder Is The Clock is a nod to all of the American ghosts that lend their narrative and characters to the Felice BrothersÆ forthcoming release. Their studio was built from the remains of an abandoned chicken coop and it was there over the summer and fall of 2008 that they wrote and recorded this new collection of songs. Yonder Is The Clock is teaming with tales of love, death, betrayal, baseball, train stations, phantoms, pandemics, jail cells, rolling rivers and frozen winter nights. This is music that hasnÆt lost sight of the history of the land from which it came, and that quality alone makes The Felice Brothers the next great American band.

    Rudy Soundtrack

    Colored Vinyl

Almost a decade after their first sports-themed collaboration, the basketball classic Hoosiers, composer Jerry Goldsmith reunited with director David Anspaugh for 1993's Rudy, the inspirational true-life tale of Daniel Ruettiger, a walk-on football player who beats the odds to earn a spot on the Notre Dame roster. Goldsmith's score effortlessly communicates the commitment and will that drive Rudy to succeed, and what would no doubt seem mawkish and sentimental in the hands of a lesser composer proves genuinely rousing here. Themes like Take Us Out capture the power and glory of the gridiron in vivid detail.

There Is No Love In Fluorescent Light

STARS have made their career telling the tales we keep in the darkest, and most
hopeful parts of our souls. Delivering the hard and soft edges of life and love as
only this band can, they returned with two new tracks Privilege and We Called
    It Love.

From the reflective beauty of Amy Millan's vocal in Privilege "never got what you
want, never got it" to Torquil Campbell's contemplative and contrary, "I don't believe
that people change but I've changed" on We Called It Love, Stars return
time and again to comfort and reassure us that within the experience of failure
and fucking up is the path to a life well lived.

A collective band statement notes, "We're back! We have a new album. It was
recorded in Montreal and Connecticut with the great producer, Peter Katis. We
love him and thank him for being there for us. It's our first with our friends at Last
Gang. We made this record for ourselves, for our kids, and for you. And we are
so happy and grateful that you're still listening to our music."

With approaching 20 years as a band and a storied album catalog spanning
2001's Nightsongs, the romantic upheaval of 2003's Heart and 2004's Set Yourself
On Fire, 2007's In Our Bedroom After the War, the downcast elegies of 2010's
The Five Ghosts, the rejuvenation of 2012's The North and sub-base, dance club
infused No One Is Lost in 2014, Stars continue to prove themselves some of the
finest musical storytellers in the country, moving through life with their fans.

    Going Out In Style

DKM come out swinging with their sixth studio album; a collection of tales about family, loyalty, and remembering where you came from. It contains all the best elements of the band's sound: a complex distillation of classic punk rock, Celtic folk, and American rock 'n' roll. It puts the band's diversity, intensity, and sincerity on full display. Consolidating strong sales history with digital single sales of 250,000 for I'm Shipping Up To Boston, which was the title track in Martin Scorcese's Academy Award winning film, The Departed. For fans of The Pogues, The Clash, Stiff Little Fingers, AC/DC, Bruce Springsteen.

So what if I threw a party & all my friends were there? So goes a line from the title song of Dropkick Murphy's seventh studio album Going Out In Style. From the meanest of times to the best of times DKM want to lift your spirits during these tough times with the party to end all parties blasting from your speakers. The Murphy's know how to turn a wake in to a party.

Now in their 15th year; with a Scorsese soundtrack hit, a US top 20 album, a lifetime membership to every Boston sports team and a sound owing as much to Springsteen and The Pogues as to the Clash, DKM have come a long way from the days of Bostonâs Rathskeller.

Dropkick Murphys are not your typical punk band, they are Boston's biggest rock band, a band that plays Irish music with punk roots. A band with enormous families and armies of friends. They roll deep. DKM's music is so fierce and furious, their stage presence so explosive, and their commitment to their fans so ironclad, one can't help but be moved. They are the AC/DC of Celtic punk rock.

    Symmetry In Black

First time available on vinyl - Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Crowbar with the release of Symmetry in Black

In a genre as prone to flights of fancy as heavy metal, Crowbar have always felt like a grounding presence, anchored to reality with their seemingly impossible heaviness. Keeping up their good works, the New Orleans sludge metal masters return with their tenth album, Symmetry in Black, an exercise in consistency that proves the band is still up to the task after 25 years of brooding sonic devastation. The album finds the band shifting gears from the pummeling assault of 2011's excellent Sever the Wicked Hand to something slower (though with Crowbar that's a fairly relative term).

Some things haven't changed, however, namely the powerful playing and singing of Kirk Windstein, whose anguished bellows and penchant for lumbering riffs continue to act as Crowbar's bellwether. While this consistency has been key to their longevity, what really makes Crowbar special is their relatability. When other bands are off telling tales of demons and black rituals, Windstein and company take on earthly woes like addiction and fearing our own mortality. Despite their delivery over a brooding, glacially paced riff, lines like Reject the thought of losing what is mine/Ascend above your own demise, from Reflection of Deceit, feel like they're meant to empower listeners rather than bring them down. Symmetry in Black is an album that shows us we don't have to waste our time fighting imaginary enemies, because the real world is plenty full of darkness that, much like Crowbar themselves, is always there.

    Lighthouse

Lighthouse is an intimate, stripped-down set that highlights David Crosbys instantly recognizable voice, incisive songwriting, and incomparable guitar work. The palpable joy in the 9-song collection captures the iconic artist in an unexpected burst of inspiration.

For Lighthouse, Crosby received an able assist from Michael League, the bandleader/bassist for Snarky Puppy who executive produced and co-wrote much of the album with Crosby.

Lighthouse features a rare economy of sound, filled primarily by David Crosbys voice and guitars, and Michael Leagues bass. Theres a sparse, unvarnished quality to the tracks that allows the songs breathing room and for the full emotional weight of the lyrics to emerge, unencumbered by extraneous instrumentation.

On album opener, Things We Do For Love, written for his wife Jan, Davids vocals reflect a poetic tenderness. On Paint You A Picture, a cinematic tale of romantic regret co-written with Marc Cohn (Walking In Memphis), they are filled with remorseful resignation.

The longtime social activist lands his political punches as he bitingly condemns the craven politicians who send other peoples children to war on Somebody Other Than You, and compassionately reminds us that we are all the same on Look In Their Eyes, a poignant tale about the Syrian refugee crisis.

Particularly striking on Lighthouse is Davids piquant guitar playing, which is as inventive as always, but never flashy. By turns gentle and caustic, his work here surprised even him as he discovered new tones.

    Nuclear Soul

"...Lionize might just be one of today's most successfully original rock acts." - Classic Rock

"A mighty funk n roll rumble." - Metal Hammer

"Tight beats and infectious riffs." - Powerplay

Over six albums Lionize have streamlined their blend of funky riffs, cyborg tales and reggae sensibilities into an original, more-ish rock whole; culminating with the propulsive Jetpack Soundtrack in 2014. Now, with seventh LP Nuclear Soul, they're raising the bar again with their most fearless, expansive-sounding songs yet. Assinger/guitarist Nate Bergman tells us: "It [the music] has elements of bands like Clutch and Deep Purple, but its not quite that - it's something all its own. I think the beauty of the band right now is that all these elements touch on something familiar, but also sound new."

In writing and road testing Nuclear Soul the band aimed to redefine what it means to be a classic sounding rock'n'roll band. Thematically, they also harnessed the present political climate to powerful effect.

"We had no rules or ideals," he continues. "We just wanted to take people on a musical journey that excited them, and showed how emotionally moving the band could be."

Ultimately this is Lionize at their most stadium-ready - without compromising on soul, sass or substance. It's that wonderful space where vintage style and contemporary fire collide.
