180 Gram Vinyl In Gatefold Jacket With Metallic 5th Color

A band with improvisational tendencies and a laid-back California vibe, ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) became a hit on the jam band circuit while enjoying a close association with superstar Jack Johnson. Members Zach Gill (keyboards/vocals), Steve Adams (bass/vocals), and Dan Lebowitz (guitars/vocals) had all known one another since their days at Saratoga High School, but it wasn't until their relocation to Santa Barbara that they decided to form a band. While studying at the University of California, the musicians were introduced to Jack Johnson and drummer David Brogan, the latter of whom joined ALO while they were using the name Django.

Numerous name changes, the addition (and subtraction) of a horn section, a number of lineup changes following Brogan's brief departure, and other problems plagued the band during its early years. Even though they were earning a loyal following around Santa Barbara, the band's instability convinced them to move back to their hometown of Saratoga. A couple more drummers came through the ranks before Brogan returned in 2002, and ALO's fortunes improved as the band began releasing material. An EP, Time Expander, and the band's debut album, Fly Between Falls, both appeared in 2005. Fly Between Falls was reissued a year later on Johnson's own Brushfire label, coinciding with ALO's high-profile tour as the opening act for the Dave Matthews Band.

Last Tangle In Paris - Live 2012 DeFiBrilLaTouR

Ministry's Last Tangle in Paris documents a time capsule in music history which
will never be repeated. In addition to Live Ministry performances, it also embodies
rare backstage footage and one-on-one interviews. Ministry founder and front man,
Al Jourgensen has no intention to tour Ministry ever again, and thus this documentary
is most certainly Jourgensen's last tangle in Paris.

The US leg of the DeFiBRilLaTouR was a four-city run in Denver, Los Angeles, New York,
with two shows in Chicago. The band then flew to Finland to embark on the seven
week European leg of the DeFiBRiLlaTouR that included festivals and club shows in Finland,
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Ireland, United Kingdom, Spain, Switzerland,
Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia. Legendary songs performed on the DVD include Psalm 69 and
New World Order. As a special bonus - the digipack version will include a Ministry tour retrospective double audio
album with live performances dating back to 2006.

In early 2014 Jourgensen underwent a closely-monitored detox, and as of this writing is sober and ready to
embark on a new chapter in his life.

    My Jug And I

This 1966 record is the first of two albums Percy Mayfield recorded for Ray Charles' Tangerine label. A masterful songwriter whose touching blues ballad Please Send Me Someone To Love was a #1 R&B hit in 1950, Mayfield was Ray Charles' favorite author during the '60s handing him such gems as Hit The Road Jack and At The Club and so was signed to the Genius' label.

A true master at expressing the innermost feelings, tangled with vulnerability and sensibility: Life Is Suicide and River's Invitation are two perfect examples of this, along with the wonderful title track, and both are included on this timeless classic. Here on 180 gram vinyl.

We Sing Loud, Sing Soft Tonight

Recorded last summer with Steve Albini at his Electrical Audio Studios, Sonna picks up where their critically adored but all-too-rare The Eventual Bow EP left off. Pretty songs come a dime a dozen, and simple beauty is not what makes Sonna so special. There is a complexity to their music, executed so seamlessly that it often goes unnoticed. It's that complexity that makes every song so memorable. Subtle changes in time signature and tempo creep in without jarring the listener. More often than not the guitars are playing in different time signatures simultaneously, yet never become the tangled mess one would expect. With the occasional hushed verse of vocals poking through in spots, the pieces are elevated to near pop song status, breathing angelic life into fragile, somnambulant compositions.

    Impossible Truth

Impossible Truth is William Tyler's debut album on Merge Records. Rooted in apocalyptic expectation and bittersweet nostalgia, Tyler describes the record as "my '70s singer-songwriter record; it just doesn't have any words."

Impossible Truth will challenge your ideas of what an instrumental guitar record can and should be. As his friend and tour mate M.C. Taylor from Hiss Golden Messenger puts it, "William will worry a phrase-some tangled chordal wormhole-until you are certain it's all that exists. He'll take you over the stiles, he'll love you up and down, and then he'll make you cry for the world and what we've done to it. I Care Because You Do

Aphex Twin's third studio album, originally released in 1995, is regarded as Richard D. James' greatest work under his Aphex Twin guise; whereas 'Selected Ambient Works Vol. II' consummated Aphex Twin's analogue era, '...I Care Because You Do' was the beginning of more intricate, lengthy, abstract digital compositions. Quite different to the previous, familiar sound of ambient music and techno.

Anagrams for tracks titles ('The Waxen Pith', 'Wet Tip Hen Ax', 'Next Heap With' etc.); in-jokes and innuendos; samples of dialogue from pornographic films and other eccentric production nuances fold into distorted hip-hop style beats and tangled drum loops. '.... I Care Because You Do' captures a new era of bracing sonic experimentation (a self portrait on the cover appears to endorse this change), yet maintaining levels of familiar melancholy and aggression in an equal measure.

Off The Grid - Doin' It Dylan

Back when Charlie Daniels was a working musician and not a star, he played on three albums by Bob Dylan -- he played guitar and bass on the sessions that became Nashville Skyline, Self Portrait, and New Morning (which means he also shows up on the acclaimed 2013 archival release, Another Self Portrait (1969-1971)) -- so his decision to cut an album devoted to Dylan is not out of the blue. What is surprising is that Off the Grid: Doin' It Dylan isn't one of Daniels' tossed-off latter-day albums, but rather a record where Charlie really digs in, savoring the interplay of his band as well as how the words feel in his mouth. Daniels does indeed choose a few of Bob's densely written songs -- Mr. Tambourine Man, A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall, and Just Like a Woman are here, none of them seeming like easy fits on paper, but each carried with conviction by Charlie -- along with country-rockers that are sure bets: the rollicking ditty Country Pie, I'll Be Your Baby Tonight, and Tangled Up in Blue, whose narrative gets trimmed down and sped up without losing its power. That impassioned reworking of Tangled Up in Blue -- which finds a counterpart in a nicely raucous back porch rendition of Quinn the Eskimo -- goes a long way toward explaining what's so joyous about Off the Grid. Daniels enjoys not the words of Dylan so much as the melodies and music, using these songs not as ruminative reflection but full-bore celebration. Even the ballads -- and there are a few here -- are played for keeps and if that music-first emphasis is a relative rarity among Dylan tributes, it's also true that it's been a long time since Daniels has sounded as engaged on a record as he is here.

    Ride Your Heart

On the heels of three well-received singles comes Ride Your Heart, the bombastic debut album by LA band Bleached. Sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin match their ability to blend a mix of freewheeling '77 punk with vintage sunny Southern California melodic rock and roll; creating blindingly bright hooks and dark heartfelt lyrics about love, loss, and the crazy fun moments in between. That's the goal: the sugary and sour, repurposed by two aggressively harmonic musicians and songwriters. Their first single Next Stop epitomizes this movement - fun, raw, adventurous and free. Tossing you out onto the dance floor, hair mussed from make-outs, cigarette still dangling from your fingertips.

As a whole, the twelve tracks on Ride Your Heart reveal the many facets of Bleached's music in a delicious vortex of playful harmonies, tangled guitars, and golden noise. Each song brings a new element, while also imbibing the classic moods of bands as varied and iconic in nature as The Ramones and The Cars to The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac. From the syncopated backbeat and two-part chorus of Dead In Your Head,, the rolling riffs and sparkling melodies of Searching Through The Past and the pulsating energy and urgency of Dreaming Without You and Outta My Mind, Bleached take you on a sweeping emotional roller coaster that churns and burns. Ride Your Heart is a thrilling, beating, glorious wall of sound strong enough to withstand its own impact.

    Being Elastic

In 2014 Each Other will release their first LP,
Being Elastic, on Lefse Records. Recorded to tape in their
home-built studio in Montreal between tours across
Canada, Europe and the U.S., Being Elastic is a document
of a band always trying to move further out in terms
of songwriting and production. Initial recordings were
shelved in favor of starting over, as new songs piled up
and intra-band shreddery intensified. The restless energy
that defines their work habits shows up everywhere in
    their music.

The songs have a solid foundation in avant-rock-pop traditions but are thwarted from sounding
like any kind of reverent tribute to what's come before
by being adventurous and exploratory. Surprise breaks,
abrupt left-turns, tangled riffage, sidelong-glancing lyrics
and Space Echo murk all punctuate the full-throated
harmonies, artful melody and bright, ringing tone
that makes up the core of these songs. At every turn,
this is a record that sounds forward-looking but not
futuristic, meticulously constructed but not formulaic
or predictable. It's the sound of three people working
hard on their own terms, without a promo budget or
obnoxious social media hustling, to make a record that
    speaks for itself.

    Panther In The Dollhouse

On this new album, Whitehorse takes a place of wholesome, conventional life and sets loose a wild animal to stalk, shred and smash its way through ideals of adult life and social conditioning. Whitehorse turns a microscope on domestic life to reveal a writhing, tangled biota of dreams and desire, despair and degradation.

With Panther In The Dollhouse, the duo's songwriting makes a clean break from autobiography to fully embrace cinematic fiction in sleek, stylized collages of neo-noir drama and high-gloss showmanship. From the grindhouse ballad of "Die Alone" to the peroxide burn of "Trophy Wife," the new songs are full of flawed characters, foiled plans and anti-fairytales.

To make this record, Whitehorse expanded their studio team with the addition of Likeminds, a pair of hip-hop/r&b producers and musicians. The beat-makers joined the returning crew of Gus Van Go and Werner F, who produced the band's previous album, Leave No Bridge Unburned. The results bring vintage drum machines, samplers, and analog synths into duo's space twang sound.

    409

Purple play pop music. Messy, dirty, raucous, grit-spitting, tequila-glugging pop music. They do not apologise for this. They have a big streak of it running skunk-like up their backs and through urgent tunes full of indie-punk snarl and piss and vinegar, but driven by grooves deep enough to rival any hop-hop classics. They are wrestling pop away from the world of vocoders, slick dance routines and coquettish airheads and bringing back to where it belongs: to the beach, to the house party, dancing on the table in that bar you need a fake ID to get into. They like to bare flesh and play until they bleed. Good things followed: a huge local following, two managers and endless touring.

'(409)' is the name of the area code for their East Texas neighbour and the name of Purple's debut album produced by Chris 'Frenchie' Smith (...Trail Of Dead, Jet ). Recorded in El Paso, '(409)' is an album that's borne out of endless jams and no shortage of live shows where Purple offer a combination of the explosive and the celebratory. Instruments are abused and crowds are surfed; their shows are somewhere between the wild, fleshy abandonment of early White Stripes. "We're positive people," shrugs Busby. "We're always looking for the party somewhere. Or maybe we are the party."

Pop is there in the 60s garage-influenced brilliance of 'Beach Buddy', a song propelled by a dual girl/boy vocal and the same endless summer joie de vivre of Ramones, Black Lips and Weezer . The chorus is an earworm that burrows deep. It's there too in 'Wallflower', a joyously uplifting song that flips the usual script and sees a girl ardently - some might say aggressively - pursuing an admirer through the upended bottles, overflowing ashtrays and tangled limbs of a party: "I'm a girl - you're supposed to be chasing me!" With definite shades of Bikini Kill and No Doubt it's the best femme-punk song we've heard in an aeon. 'Head On The Floor' meanwhile is a proto-grunge song that swings like early Hole and has a whole of soul.

'(409)' is certainly an album with sand in its shoes and a rocket up its ass. It transports you to a better place. Listening to Purple quickens your pulse. Gives you the sweats. Has you reaching for a cold one. And then another. And then ten more. They make you feel alive. They are good for you.

Bob Dylan was at several crossroads in the mid-1970s. Artistically, he was largely written off as being past his prime. Emotionally, he was suffering through a painful divorce from his then-wife Sara Lowndes. Creatively, he appeared at a stalemate, his previous decades unprecedented run of transformational brilliance finished. Then came Blood on the Tracks.

A start-to-finish cycle that documents a lovers pursuit of, entanglement with, and loss of a woman, the bracingly intimate 1975 effort remains one of the most encompassing break-up albums ever made and ranks as the most personal statement of the Bards career. To hear it is to experience the agony, frustration, trauma, highs, lows, confusion, sadness, and, ultimately, requisite redemption associated with intimate relationships gone astray. Dylan maintains its a work of fiction, but its evident close-vested autobiographical premise is what helps make it universal: Its the icon singing through tears, going out of his mind, battling hallowing emptiness, firing shots across the bow, and accepting culpability. It is, in short, a consummate expression of loves darker sides and the consequences of what happens when dreams unravel.

As part of its Bob Dylan catalog restoration series, Mobile Fidelity is thoroughly humbled to have the privilege of mastering the iconic LP from the original master tapes and pressing it on dead-quiet LPs at RTI. The end result is the very finest, most transparent analog edition of Blood on the Tracks ever producedand the first-ever proper analog reissue. Fantastically presenting both the solo acoustic and band-supported songs with the utmost clarity, dynamics, presence, immediacy, spaciousness, imaging, and balance, this version shines a high-powered light on the fluid vocal phrasing, timbral shifts, functional rhythms, and inward-looking strumming that contribute to every song here serving as a wound-exposing confessional.

For all the melancholic pain, unresolved questions, shattered memories, wasted times, unrequited dialogs, and weary regret within, Blood on the Tracks remains as daring as it is reflective. Rather than follow for a monotone caustic vibe, Dylans songs burrow into the subconscious for the manners in which they are even-keeled, mellow, and occasionally, even peaceful. Dignity, honor, poignancy, and fairnessall traits uncommon in any situation in which partners dissolve histories, change hearts, and attribute blameinstill the record with equilibrium on par with the consistency of the flowing melodies.

Throughout, tunes come on and proceed as if they could continue forever, Dylan spinning poetic verses and conversations amidst finely tied knots of acoustic notes, chords, and fills, the deceivingly simple architecture conjuring the intertwined refractions of a bezeled jewel, various angles, colors, and textures conjoining into a gorgeously inseparable whole. Backed by Tony Browns flexible albeit subtle bass, Buddy Cages country-streaked pedal-steel guitar, and Paul Griffins soul-baring organan instrument used to shadow, tuckpoint, and illuminate here as effectively as any time in rock historyDylan pours soulful emotion, open his veins, and bleeds.

Ranked 16 on Rolling Stones list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, and replete with existential thought, piercing directness, raw singing, and majestic arrangements,

Given the sonic and artistic merit of this album, we anticipate huge demand.

Coin Coin Chapter Three: River Run Thee

"Roberts is carving out her own aesthetic space, startling in its originality and gripping in its historic and social power." - Peter Margasak

"Primarily interrogating her own sense of identity as an African American woman, Roberts calls upon numerous other voices - from her family's history, her culture's mythology - to create living artifacts of collective cultural memory: simultaneously disorienting and exhilarating in their chaotic multiplicity." - The Quietus

"Roberts is a major talent." - The Wire

Matana Roberts is one of the most acclaimed, socio-politically conscious and aesthetically intrepid composers, band leaders, horn players and experimental sound practitioners of the past decade. Her multi-chapter Coin Coin work, which Constellation began documenting in 2011, has placed her at the forefront of stylistic
innovation and radicalization, transcending jazz - or any other genre boundaries - while confirming the deep substance and soul that guides her compositional agenda. Following the critical accolades that the first two Coin Coin chapters have thus far received, the past year has been marked by further career-defining
recognition for her body of iconoclastic work: Roberts was a recipient of both the Herb Alpert Award in the Arts and the Doris Duke Impact Award in 2014.

Roberts has long employed the phrase "panoramic sound quilting" to describe the
process surrounding her Coin Coin work. The third chapter in her Coin Coin series
finds Roberts implementing this metaphor most explicitly, constructing a sound art
tapestry from field recordings, loop and effects pedals, and spoken word recitations,
alongside her saxophone and singing voices. Coin Coin Chapter Three: river run thee
could arguably be considered first and foremost a vocal work, and notwithstanding
its experimental and esoteric structure, a deeply narrative work as well. Not unlike
2013's Coin Coin Chapter Two: Mississippi Moonchile, the new chapter unfolds as an
uninterrupted album-length flow, this time in what Roberts calls "a fever dream" of
sonic material, woven in surrealist fashion. Fragments of traditional song act as the
main touchstones on the album, with Roberts' singing voice riding atop waves of
radiophonic texture, layered spoken word and an often dislocated, wandering horn

Working once again with engineer Radwan Ghazi Moumneh, and returning again to
Montreal's Hotel2Tango studio (the location for her Chapter One recording in 2010),
Roberts ran the river run thee tape back multiple times, adding new layers in real
time, from start to finish (as opposed to calculated, isolated overdubs). The result is
a visceral audio document that combines structure and improvisation in the fullest
sense: not just in the playing and performing, but in the very marrow of the work's
compositional DNA. It is also, for the first time in the Coin Coin cycle, a solo work,
emerging from a lengthy solitary road trip Roberts took through the American South
in early 2014, amassing historical and documentary information through interviews,
    site visits and field recordings.

Coin Coin Chapter Three: river run thee signals yet another highly adventurous and
socially engaged definition of what Jazz can mean in this day and age, and a
fascinating extension of the Coin Coin cycle, where rather than surfacing and
reactivating through the group dynamics of a musical ensemble, history is inhaled
and exhaled through a solitary practice seeking to evoke and echo its tangled
    thicket of febrile strands.

    Diamond Eyes

Diamond Eyes was recorded after Deftones' bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November of 2008 and the newfound sense of purpose is readily apparent througout. The tangle of Stephen Carpenter's woozy, undulating guitar work and Moreno's soaring then secretive vocal style is the bittersweet dynamic behind each of Deftones' records, including Diamond Eyes.
