    Freak Out! (Awaiting Repress)

Since their breakout Fat Wreck Chords release They Came From The Shadows in 2009, Teenage Bottlerocket has been on a relentless (and successful) mission to bring their frenzied and fun-filled brand of music to the masses. From Adelaide to Zurich, TBR has amassed an army of zealous devotees and is now ready to deliver their latest pop punk manifesto, Freak Out! Right out of the gate the punch of the title track serves notice that the Bottlerocket guys aren't fucking around. All 14-tracks sustain such a balls-out level of energy it's impossible to sit still while listening!

From the hallmark breakneck down strumming and fleet rhythms on songs like Headbanger, In the Pit and Who Killed Sensei? to the heavy throttling chorus on Cruising Chicks, Freak Out! never stops to take a breath. Even the mid-tempo songs seem fast! Add to this TBR's uncanny ability to craft mesmerizing melodies, highlighted by Kody's impossibly high harmonies, and what you have is a pop punk masterpiece!

Often drawing comparisons to the legendary Ramones, Teenage Bottlerocket are certainly the modern flag bearers of the classic sound. Yet, on tracks like Go With the Flow and Never Gonna Tell You they manage to stretch the narrow boundaries of the three chord structure, while maintaining the authenticity of the genre. Freak Out! delivers the fun, fast, catchy punk-rock that TBR have built their reputation on, with the perfect amount of unexpected thrills to keep you pogoing for a long time to come. LP with digital download.

    Tales From Wyoming

Every now and then a band comes along and speaks to the hearts of kids everywhere, as the
true voice of their community. Teenage Bottlerocket is that band in the punk rock community
right now. The band's anthemic punk rock classics quickly catapulted them to the top of the
scene, and before long the bands who inspired them had become their peers. In an age when
overnight internet sensations are an everyday occurrence, it's hard to find a band that's grown
organically, the old fashioned way; by word of mouth and non-stop touring, while winning kids
over one show at a time. Since 2001, Teenage Bottlerocket have been busy touring the world
over with the likes of NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones,
as well as a stint on the Vans Warped Tour.

"Tales from Wyoming" is the band's 6th full-length album, and for this effort the band enlisted
Descendents drummer and punk rock legend, Bill Stevenson (Rise Against, NOFX, Black
Flag, Descendents) to produce. The result is easily the band's strongest material to date. "Tales
From Wyoming" is 14 fast, melodic, and catchy songs that will stay stuck in your head for
    months to come.

To support the release, Teenage Bottlerocket will be on tour with Pennywise, and will continue
to tour relentlessly throughout the release. Teenage Bottlerocket has found a way to both
progress, while also staying true to the sound that made them so exciting in the first place.

    Diary Of A Teenage Girl

Based on the acclaimed graphic novel by Phoebe Gloeckner,The Diary of a Teenage Girl recounts the coming-of-age adventures of Minnie Goetze, a San Francisco teenager growing up in the counterculture haze of the 1970s. Lonely and artistic, Minnie chronicles her trials through expressive drawings and painfully honest missives confided to a tape recorder. One fateful evening alone with her mother's boyfriend, Minnie is confronted with her burgeoning sexuality for the first time, and suddenly this precocious teen is in way over her head.

Songs From The Valley Of The Bored Teenager (1981-1984)

Remastered And On Vinyl For The First Time.

Earth Dies Burning was formed in 1981 in the San Fernando Valley by a group of friends ranging in age from 10 to 14: the Karlsen brothers (Jeff and
Matt), Brad Laner, and the Nachmann brothers (Guy and Ron). Their success in landing gigs at the time can be traced to Brad's precociousness (he had
sat in with Vox Pop, Nervous Gender and others), Matt's natural talent for promotion, and the extraordinary openness of the Los Angeles punk/postpunk "underground" scene at that time. It seems that only now has the time ripened, dear listener; let the sweet smell of singed terrestrial morbidity flow from the valley of the bored teenager to your ears.

Teenage Fanclub's Man-Made is part of the
Merge Records 25th anniversary reissue series.

Originally released in 2005, Man-Made is a classic Fanclub
record in tone and arrangement, and handsomely
demonstrates the "less is more" maxim--it is both airier and
more light of touch than it's immediate predecessors.
Teenage Fanclub made the record in Chicago with John
McEntire (Tortoise) at his Soma Electronic Music Studios.

Though McEntire's production is subtle, his unique
aesthetics are definitely apparent on Man-Made as odd
keyboards and sundry other inevitably electronic
apparatuses bubble and bleep just below the surface of
fuzzed-out guitars, chugging basslines, and layered vocals.

Teenage Fanclub's Shadows is part of the
Merge Records 25th anniversary reissue series.

Originally released in 2010, Shadows picks up on the
introspective, world-weary quality of Man-Made but also
delivers a bit of the classic bright pop the band is known
for. Where Man-Made found the band struggling with
feeling like life was an illusion on the dogged "It's All in My
Mind," here you get Love's breezy baroque pop statement
of purpose "Sometimes I Don't Need to Believe in
Anything," with its chorus of layered synth, strings, flutes,
    and sundry wind instruments.

Similarly, Blake's leadoff single "Baby Lee" is a romantic
'60s-styled folk-rocker that veritably shimmers with
positive vibes. Elsewhere, Love's "Into the City" is a
sunshine pop/country-rock love letter to urban days in the
sun and McGinley's "Today Never Ends" is slow-burn
psychedelic country-rock rumination on the past, the
present, and a perfect day that never ends. If the day is as
sun-drenched and relaxed as the songs on Shadows implies,
then may it and Teenage Fanclub go on and on

As ever, song-wise the Fanclub present a textbook representation of democracy in action, the record offering four each by Norman Blake, Gerard Love, and Raymond McGinley. From the almighty chime of opener "I'm In Love" through the ecstatic soul-search of "The First Sight" and the paean to unerring friendship "With You," Here is a collection of twelve songs about the only things that truly matter: life and

As is befitting of a record that took its time to arrive, Here uses reflective space to dazzling effect. "Steady State," with its gorgeous ebb and flow, has echoes of The Notorious Byrd Brothers' astral jangle, while "I Was Beautiful When I Was Alive" unexpectedly curves off from dreamlike beginnings into a semi-acoustic/motorik outro, sonically replacing the steady beat of the German autobahn with the vast open skies of the Pacific Coast Highway.

Not for one second is Here the sound of procrastination or headscratching. It's the effortless work of a band entirely confident in their own craft-the consolidation of nearly three decades of peerless songwriting and almost telepathic musicianship. Here is a record that embraces maturity and experience and hugs them close.

Two legends, together again. Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake and Half Japanese's Jad Fair have teamed up to bring you their new magnum opus, "Yes". Encompassing all the songwriting eccentricities that have made
these guys famous, this new collaborative album also features some of the most genteel, engagingly catchy, and downright adorable music in recent memory.

Norman Blake and Jad Fair originally collaborated over a decade ago on the Teenage Fanclub and Jad Fair album "Words of Wisdom and Hope" (Domino/Alternative Tentacles). Unlike the simple, aggressive style of
Half Japanese, the 13 new tracks on "Yes" feature refined, guitar-laden power-pop and saccharin-sweet melodies, accompanied by backup singers and layered horn arrangements. Fair's characteristically-manic vocal style is still present, but when coupled with the head-bopping, articulately-layered arrangements of Norman Blake, the result is a potently earnest album that is brimming with positivity.

Their debut full-length, Future Self, was produced by John Goodmanson (Blonde Redhead, Death Cab for Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, etc) and promises to be one of the best rock records of 2011.

    Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Unknown Mortal Orchestra have officially signed to Fat Possum for this, their self-titled debut LP. UMO was initially conceived by New Zealand native, Ruban, to release some tracks via a Bandcamp page to promote his limited edition vinyl in 2010. He pieced a band together, with skilled producer, Jake on bass and a brilliant teenage drummer named Julian to fill out the band. Based in Portland, Oregon, their debut brings break-beats together with '70s harmonies and a minimal Krautrock rhythm section.

Music for heathens, both primitive and sophisticated, The K-Holes emergered from guttural rock n rollers Golden Triangle and the Black Lips, so there is no doubt that these five New Yorker's know what they are doing. Sexy and sinsister escapism, Dismania, the band's sophmore release, takes the distortion, feedback, and saxophone of the Stooges' Funhouse and drives it hard, head on, into Teenage Jesus and the Jerk's car. Rock n roll should never be safe! The K-Holes are rock n roll.
