    Yours Dreamily

The Arcs' debut album, Yours, Dreamily, will be released Friday, September 4 on Nonesuch Records. In anticipation of the release, "Stay in My Corner" was premiered on June 9 at NPR Music. Of the song, NPR Music's Stephen Thompson praises, " it's got a slinky, timeless feel, propelled with alluring ease by Auerbach's falsetto and a lush instrumental backdrop befitting The Arcs' roster." The Arcs will be touring in support of the album; details will be announced soon.

The Arcs collaboratively wrote and recorded 13 tracks for Yours, Dreamily, with the musicians playing a large array of roles both vocally and instrumentally. Co-produced by Auerbach and Michels, the album was recorded in roughly two weeks through spontaneous, informal sessions across the country at the Sound Factory in Los Angeles, the Diamond Mine in Queens, Auerbach's Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, and in a lounge room at Electric Lady in Manhattan. Tchad Blake mixed the album on his horse farm in Wales.

In advance of Yours, Dreamily, The Arcs recently released a 7-inch single. Inspired by the Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao boxing match, the single includes the songs "Stay in My Corner" b/w "Tomato Can." "Outta My Mind," a second 7-inch and the first single being released to radio, will make its debut later in June of 2015.

    ADD VIOLENCE (Awaiting Repress)

Nine Inch Nails' new EP, ADD VIOLENCE, is set for release on vinyl via Capitol Records. The five-song collection is the second in a series of three related EPs. The first, Not The Actual Events, was released in December of 2016.

ADD VIOLENCE finds the band (Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross) becoming more accessible and impenetrable at the same time. The sonic palette expands significantly from Not The Actual Events, incorporating elements of beauty into the dark dissonance. The narrative arc linking the three records begins to emerge through the disassociated lyrics and the provocative and clue-filled cover artwork.

    Tell Me I'm Pretty

Tell Me I'm Pretty was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys & The Arcs. With this record, we wanted to be more transparent, said lead singer Matt Shultz. We wanted to capture the sentiment of each song, and whatever emotional response it provoked, to be really honest to that. The results are the band's most forceful and focused songs yet. They recorded most of the songs on the 10-song album on the first take, capturing the band's raw and frenetic onstage energy. Their last album, Melophobia, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album.

Arc Iris is the orchestral pop project of Jocie Adams, a former core member of The Low Anthem.
The singer and multi-instrumentalist formed the collective to present her ambitious new songs.
The band includes a collective of 4 musicians plus Jocie with additional players frequently
joining to expand the sound further, to create their wild exploration of all kinds of musical styles
    - jazz, prog rock, blues, country, folk, and classical styles.

Bob Boilen of NPR All Songs Considered calls the music "somewhat cabaret, somewhat orchestral folk, a bit of show tune and jazz band," while The Deli Magazine writes, "the five-piece
group had everything you could want in a live performance--intense energy, appreciation for
performing and incredible talent they are something akin to a soul/folk/jazz amalgamation."

Saintseneca, a young band from Columbus, Ohio led by singer-songwriter
and multi-instrumentalist Zac Little, release their ANTI- debut Dark Arc in 2014. While the group formed in Columbus, a majority of Saintseneca's
members, including songwriter Little, hail from the rural hills of Appalachia,
a landscape that has infused the group's evocative music with a deep sense
of introspection. Following in the footsteps of heartland bands who have
sought to twist the music of the old weird America into new shapes - from
the Violent Femmes to Neutral Milk Hotel - Saintseneca perform songs that
sound familiar and utterly strange, all at once. As an introduction to the band,
ANTI- released a 7" single featuring "Uppercutter" this fall, a haunting song
anchored by throbbing acoustic guitars, atmospheric piano and Little's soaring vocals, which quickly became a press and indie retail favorite. Now with
Dark Arc, Saintseneca deliver on Pitchfork's promise of "a sonic fullness
    Saintseneca only hinted at previously."

    Arc Of A Diver

Steve Winwood's voice has always granted him the advantage of instant recognition; add to this a musicianship that has been employed in dozens of sessions over the past four decades, and the result is a prodigious talent that runs like a vein of gold through rock music. Arc of a Diver, released at the end of 1980 after a long period of self-imposed retreat, is a triumphant resurgence for the musical genius. With the help of Viv Stanshall and Will Jennings, Winwood's faith in music was again restored and in just a few short years he would be among the top-selling vocalists in the world.

    Immunity

Jon Hopkins is to release Immunity, his fourth solo album, and second on Domino on June 4 following
    up on 2009's Insides.

A powerful, multi-faceted beast, packed with the most aggressively dancefloor-focused music
Hopkins has ever made, Immunity is about achieving euphoric states through music. Inspired by
the arc of an epic night out, the album peaks with Collider, a huge, apocalyptic, techno monster and
dissolves with the quiet, heartbreakingly beautiful closer, Immunity. The track featuring vocals from
King Creosote, which could sit comfortably alongside the gems of their 2011 Mercury-nominated
    collaboration, Diamond Mine.
Immunity is a confident, dramatic record defined by an acute sense of physicality and place. It feels
like the hypnotic accompaniment to a journey of creativity, a trip inside Hopkins' mind, using analog
synthesis alongside manipulations of physical, real-world sounds to make dance music that feels as
    natural and unforced as possible.

Immunity is the most human electronic album you'll hear this year.

30th Century Records Compilation Volume 1

In the summer of 2015, Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse) announced details about 30th Century Records, his imprint in collaboration with Columbia Records. The first release that comes from the world-renowned artist, songwriter, and producer is 30th Century Records Compilation Volume I, featuring eleven tracks of guitar-based brilliance.

A psychedelic mosaic with international scope, 30th Century Records Compilation Volume I, touches both future and classic sounds from the sun-drenched shores of Brazil to to the murky depths of Glasgow. Dan Auerbach's blistering riffage in The Arcs, and Autolux's arty experimentalism are featured alongside Sam Cohen's rough-hewn authenticity and emotive rockers from newcomers like Nine Pound Shadow and Waterstrider. Compiled by Danger Mouse, this album finds guitar music alive and well from the garage to the depths of space.

The compilation will also feature a brand new track from Autolux, who will release their forthcoming album via 30th Century Records in 2016, as well as an exclusive new track from Dan Auerbach's project, The Arcs.

    Shriek

Jenn Wasner and Andy Stack of Wye Oak have spent most of their
lives in Baltimore, Maryland. But after two years of constant touring
with Civilian, their highly lauded 2011 album, they landed on opposite
sides of the country with an unforeseeable future ahead. Despite this
newfound uncertainty, the two bandmates embraced their physical
distance, passing ideas back and forth, allowing new work to evolve in
their respective solitudes. Shriek is Wye Oak's fourth full-length and the
culmination of their intent to express the emotional and
intuitive self by acting out animalistic exclamations through cathartic
release. It is their most personal and confident declaration yet.

Newly inspired by playing bass, Jenn took up songwriting in a setting
where the guitar did not dictate harmonic boundaries or require a
call-and-response relationship with her voice, a hallmark of
previous Wye Oak records. With her phrasing freed, now it is often
Andy who interacts with Jenn's vocals, playing syncopated and
meditative keyboard parts, and the duo's collaborative arrangements
provide a backdrop in which both the arcs of melodies and the new
    rhythmic elements flourish.

To engineer, mix, and co-produce, they brought in Nicolas
Vernhes of the Rare Book Room in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, whose inventive and forward-thinking approaches to production complemented
their new direction. The result is a record of indisputable humanity.
Shriek is a complete narrative of disorientation, loss, renewal, and
    empowerment.

    Sun

Sun is the first album of original material from Cat Power since her critically acclaimed 2006 album The Greatest and follow-up to her second covers album Jukebox which was released in 2008. In addition to the lead single Ruin, the 11-song set is highlighted by the New York City homage "Manhattan" and the 11-minute epic "Nothing But Time" which features backing vocals by Iggy Pop.

Chan Marshall has moved on from her collaborative forays into Memphis soul and Delta blues. She wrote, played, recorded and produced the entirety of SUN by herself, a statement of complete control that is echoed in the songs' themes. The narrative arc of the record is deeply American in its spaciousness and optimism, but the music itself is defiantly modern and global.

    Talking Back To The Night

Talking Back to the Night is Steve Winwood's third solo album, released less than two years after the top-3 hit Arc of a Diver. Valerie was a minor hit in 1982, but when it was re-recorded and re-released in 1987 for Chronicles, the newer version became a top-10 hit. In addition, the album tracks Help Me Angel and Talking Back to the Night were also re-recorded for Chronicles. The latter was then released for the first time as a single.

    Life Like

LP Includes 12-page 12 x 12 Full Color Collage Book & Album Download

Life Like is Joan of Arc distilled down to/embracing its rock essence. Gone from the bands music (for now) are the electronics and layers upon layers of tracks. Gone from their liner notes are an extensive list of musicians and instruments. Instead, Life Like is the result of four men adhering to Thoreaus famous principle, Simplify, simplify, simplify!

Life Like is the first Joan of Arc to feature Victor Villarreal (Capn Jazz, Owls) as a member. The album was recorded at Chicagos Electrical Audio with Steve Albini (who has previously engineered records for two other Kinsella projects: Owls and Make Believe).

    Flowers

Despite being written over the course of a year in four different sessions with four different lineups (but always with frontman Tim Kinsella at the helm), the first listen
reveals the songs on Flowers as a more cohesive unit than those on its predecessor, last year's Boo Human. This experience encapsulates the spirit of Joan of Arc, a mentality that embraces contradictions and tears apart common musical structures, only to rebuild them without a blueprint. Joan of Arc continues to succeed in doing what many strive for with a new album, creating an obscure combination of familiar, obvious ideas while sticking with the notion that if it feels good, do it.

    Alone

The Pretenders are set to release their first album in eight years, Alone, via BMG. Recorded in Nashville and originally intended as a solo follow-up to 2014's 'Stockholm', it soon became obvious that those driving guitars, ragged but righteous arrangements, tough yet tender lyrics delivered by the most beautifully distinctive voice of a generation, sounded fantastically familiar. The Pretenders were back. 36 years after their remarkable first album, 'Alone' could be the older, wiser, badder sister to that exhilarating debut.

Chrissie Hynde recorded the album in Nashville with Dan Auerbach, from The Black Keys, who stood as captain, producer and multi-instrumentalist on the record, an album which sees Chrissie at her searingly honest, most incisive best.

The full band joining Chrissie and Dan on the album features Johnny Cash's former bass player Dave Roe and country rocker Kenny Vaughan on guitar plus sundry members of Dan Auerbach's side project The Arcs: Richard Swift, drums, Leon Michels, keyboards and Russ Pahl providing sly curlicues of pedal steel. The album was mixed by Tchad Blake (Arctic Monkeys, Peter Gabriel, Elvis Costello). Duane Eddy also features on the punchy 'Never Be Together'.

Of the new album Chrissie Hynde said the following: "This record is what I love the most - real people playing real music. I sang and recorded every vocal in a 48 hour period - 48 hours to sing them, 40 years of preparation!"
