    The End

Live From The Genting Arena, Birmingham, 2017

Almost 50 years ago, the toll of a bell and rolling thunder marked the conception of an ear-splittingly monolithic riff. The End is a celebration of Black Sabbath's final hometown concert in Birmingham in Feb 2017. The End Of That

The End of That is Plants and Animals' third album, following their breakthrough debut, Parc Avenue, and 2010's La La Land. It showcases the band in an intimate, almost live-off-the-floor setting. While there's no shortage of catchy electric guitar riffs, as evidenced on lead single Lightshow, the album also showcases lead singer Warren C. Spicer on piano, and plenty of acoustic guitar, an early touchstone of the band that had been given a break on the last record.

Fans of Plants and Animals' early acoustic work will feel right at home with songs like Before, Song for Love and the title track while lovers of the band's multi-part excursions won't be disappointed either. Side A and B of the album end and begin with their own respective anthemic monsters in Crisis! and 2010. The End of That was engineered by Lionel Darrenne (Feist).

    After The End

First gaining notoriety with the LPs Children of Desire' (2012),
which Pitchfork hailed for its "glistening and emotive, ear-bleeding noise
pop", and then Totale Nite (2013), which NME likened to "a
cultural jump-start" , Merchandise continue their ascent with their
highly-anticipated new album, After The End out on 4AD.

Drawing from too many places to be classified punk, they've certainly
been informed by it's ethics, earning all they've achieved. Still self-recording and producing their music, this time over a six month period
in the house they share in Tampa, After The End is a real achievement in
showing what bands can achieve themselves. The only outside influence
this time came when they enlisted mixing help from Gareth Jones, the
man famed for his work on Depeche Mode's Berlin Trilogy of 'Construction Time Again,' 'Some Great Reward,' and 'Black Celebration,' and
more recently Interpol, These New Puritans and Grizzly Bear.

    Forever In The End

Hailing from Portland, OR, Atriarch features members of Graves At Sea, Trees, Final Conflict and Get Hustle. Vocalist Lenny Smith describes his Cascadian deathrock ensemble as a living entity comprised of four parts, offering catharsis through sonic ritual. Formed in 2009, Atriarch sought out to combine elements of goth and deathrock while making sure to keep it heavy. Their debut full-length for Seventh Rule Records, Forever the End, does just that and then some.

    Coke Bottle Clear Vinyl

    Limited To 1500 Copies

Clocking in at a taut nine songs in 39 minutes without a second of filler, The End Complete may be the definitive Obituary album. The band's third, it marks the return of lead guitarist Allen West and it also marks an impressive leap forward in production. The songwriting and playing on Obituary's past albums had been commendable, and The End Complete is no exception in that regard. Rather, it's the return of West and the remarkable production job by Scott Burns that sets this album apart from its predecessors. The return of West is important not only because his solos are one of the band's trademarks but also because he's an integral songwriter, here co-penning four of the nine songs. Burns' crystal-clear, in-your-face production is not to be underestimated, either. If anything had marred Obituary's past two albums, both of them otherwise excellent, it was the murkiness of the sound, especially the drums. That's not an issue here at all, however, as Obituary have never sounded this great. The guitar tones especially are downright vivid, particularly when West and rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres depart from one another such as during the solos (the title track is a great showcase for this, and so is Rotting Ways). You can practically feel the respective guitar tones buzzing through your head, they're so well recorded. And so are John Tardy's vocals, which are sometimes overdubbed to make them all the more potent and nuanced. They're so well recorded, in fact, you can actually understand some of the lyrics! Overall, there really isn't anything to complain about here. Sure, nine songs in a brisk 39 minutes might not be enough for those who can't get enough of Obituary's textbook style of death metal, but this is such a powerful album that even seasoned metalheads can get exhausted quickly. And besides, Obituary may be one of death metal's greatest bands ever, granted, but they're generally not the most varied or experimental. So too many more songs or too much more music, and the proceedings could begin to get increasingly monotonous, a problem that has plagued innumerable death metal albums over the years. But that's not an issue here, thankfully; the primary issue instead seems to be just how Obituary could top an album such as The End Complete. Its two predecessors, Slowly We Rot and Cause of Death, had been near perfect and were quickly deemed classics of the early death metal era. But here the band has done itself one better, bringing West back into the fold and getting a better production job from Burns, and the result is arguably the definitive Obituary album and, consequently, a prototypical death metal album. It don't get much better than this, folks.

Australian Punk Rockabilly outfit The Living End had formed in 1994 in Melbourne by Chris Cheney on guitar and lead vocals, and Scott Owen on double bass and backing vocals. In 1996 they were joined by Travis Demsey on drums.

In 1997, they had achieved mainstream success with their EP Second Solution / Prisoner Of Society, peaking at No. 4 on the Australian Singles Chart. More singles followed, which can be found on their self titled 1998 debut: Prisoner of Society, Save the Day, All Torn Down, West End Riot and the US-only single Trapped.

The album reached No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and remained in the top 50 for 63 weeks. The Living End was certified 4× Platinum by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). As of today, it is the band's most successful album. The cover art, as described by front man Chris Cheney, is based on a photograph of a World War I all-female bomb factory.

    The Inevitable End

The Inevitable End is Röyksopp's most personal album to date and their second album release in the space of six months, following their critically
acclaimed mini album Do It Again with fellow Scandinavian legend Robyn.

"With 'The Inevitable End' we've moved into a darker subject matter, with emphasis on the lyrical content. This candid approach feels very both personal,
sincere and conclusive," says Svein. "With this album it became clear we wanted to make an album in a classical sense even if it's the last one we make,"
    adds Torbjørn.

Having now created five complete bodies of work, the pair feel like the future is open to being more experimental with how they share their music. "We
feel like this is a goodbye to the traditional album format," explains Svein. "In our consecutive run of albums, we have been able to say what we want to
say and do what we want to do with the LP. We're not going to stop making music, but the album format as such, this is the last thing from us."

Featuring significant contributions from his Soft Machine bandmate Elton Dean, amongst others, The End Of An Ear is one of the more adventurous titles in Robert Wyatt's catalog. It's an album much more in line with the electronic jazz experimentation of Miles Davis, and the avant-garde, than the singer-songwriter material Wyatt would later be known for. Despite being a very serious record, Wyatt's playful nature and sense of humor still shine through. The End Of An Ear is an absolutely essential piece of the Canterbury prog scene and Wyatt's canon, lovingly reissued here on LP by Cherry Red Phonograph.

Everything Will Be Alright In The End

Los Angeles, CA's Weezer will release their highly anticipated ninth album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End, on Republic Records. Produced by Ric Ocasek, who previously helmed production on the band's first and third records (''The Blue Album'' and ''The Green Album''), Everything Will Be Alright In The End is the band's first collection of new material in four years.

Since forming in 1992, Weezer has released a myriad of celebrated, chart-topping albums, selling over 13 million records worldwide. Following an intensely prolific couple years at the end of the aughts, the band chose to deliberately dial down the tempo in 2010, a move singer/guitarist Rivers Cuomo says allowed him to write at a slower pace, giving the songs he wanted to use for an album the time to gradually grow into their final forms. He started almost every song on the piano, eventually transferring them to the guitar before taking them to the band. When it came time to record the material, Weezer reunited with the man who helped them make some of their most iconic album-length work, Cars frontman Ric Ocasek. The resulting album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End, is a stand-out gem in Weezer's vast and varied catalogue, a reflection of a much-loved band at their very best. Organized thematically around three groups of songs, it is an album that utilizes that sound from the band's earliest days to tell new stories in 2014, creating some of the finest, most heartfelt songs Weezer has ever recorded.

The band wrote the album's songs in less than a month, drawing inspiration from their self-imposed isolation during the songwriting process, and crafted a more mature sound which drew from jazz and progressive rock influences, as well as elements of death metal and thrash metal. Top Ten Hits Of The End Of The World

It's 2012, and Prince Rama has made the Top Ten Hits of the End of the World. Conceived as a pseudo-compilation album, the Brooklyn duo invented ten different pop bands that died during the apocalypse, channeling the ghosts of each one to perform the various songs. Spanning genres and stylistic eras from across the globe, Top Ten Hits explores pop music's relationship to memory, nostalgia, and the spirit world.

Incorporating influences as disparate as cosmic disco, motorcycle rock, new-wave, grunge, tribal goth, Arabic pop, and ghost-modern glam, Prince Rama filters each sound through the destroyed lens of a post-apocalyptic future looking back at the wonders of its sonic past. Tracking began with Tim Koh in Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's studio and was then completed and mixed with producer Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Sun City Girls, Arcade Fire) at Gravelvoice in Seattle.

Top Ten Hits of the End of the World isn't just a pop album, it's a retrospective requiem of all pop albums ever made. Nothing like this has ever been attempted by a single band, and its residual echoes will continue to haunt this world and the next. LP comes with digital download card.

Meet Me At The End Of The World

Vinyl pressing of this EP from the New York-based singer/songwriter. Malin is best known as the frontman for alt-rock outfit D-Generation. Malin began his music career at the age of 12, as the frontman for the seminal New York City hardcore band Heart Attack. The band auditioned at CBGBs but were denied because they wouldn't bring in a drinking crowd to the bar. Following the demise of that band in 1984, Jesse worked on several other projects, including the band Hope, before joining glam punk band D Generation for which he was the lead singer for eight years. As one of New York City's most noted bands of the 1990s, D Generation released three albums, including No Lunch, before eventually disbanding in April 1999. Malin has since carved out a critically successful solo career.

Thanks to widely lauded albums like 2005's epoch-shredding The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand, 2011's ante-raising, ultra-brutal Beast and 2016's acclaimed career peak Trust No One, the band led by vocalist Dez Fafara (ex-Coal Chamber) are firmly established as one of the most consistent and best-loved bands in modern metal. But in 2018, expectations are about to be torched in the mother of all campfires!

A monstrous collection of savage and slamming metal interpretations of Dez and his comrades' favorite outlaw country songs, Outlaws 'Til The End is both a startling curveball and a ferocious statement of individuality from a band with cojones to spare. "The blues and outlaw country are what made rock'n'roll. They were around before rock'n'roll...and in my head, I've always heard these songs heavy", explains Dez.

From the opening seconds of DevilDriver's face-flaying version of Hank III's 'Country Heroes' (featuring the man himself on guest vocals) onwards, Outlaws 'Til The End is simply one of the most vicious records the band have made yet. More importantly, these evocative, irresistible songs have all been wholly rebuilt from the ground up, powered by the classic DevilDriver sound and embellished with Dez's unmistakable feral roar.

Completing this unprecedented project is a host of metal and country luminaries providing unforgettable cameos: Wednesday 13, Brock Lindow (36 Crazyfists) Burton C. Bell (Fear Factory), Lee Ving (Fear), Randy Blythe and Mark Morton (Lamb Of God) and none other than John Cash Jr, son of Johnny Cash. The perfect marriage of badass country grit and neck-wrecking groove metal supremacy, it's a pistol-packing game-changer delivered by true heavy metal outlaws.

    Tides End

"Tides End" is the second Minks album, but you could say it's a world away from the first. Moving out of New York City to try and cure a bout of writer's block, frontman/songwriter Sonny Kilfoyle wound up in the East End of Long Island. Surrounded by water on three sides, it's the same place that drew Warhol, Pollock, de Kooning, Steinbeck and more to escape the constant barrage of information of the urban landscape.

The result is not just a romantic trip into isolation, but a melodic and warm experience to immerse yourself in. It's a pop record, with all the hooks and harmonies you'd expect from that, delivered with experience, depth and hope.

The escapist mentality of the location directly and literally affected "Tides End," as the LP is named for a beachfront estate Sonny had wandered upon one day while out for a drive. Occupied by one family for generations, who after financial decline, are now forced to sell all they own. The experience of seeing old East Coast wealth, surrounded by beautiful Rococo paintings yet no modern appliances was the initial spark to record the LP. Kilfoyle
himself purchased a portrait "Margot," which inspired and named one of the LP's catchiest tracks.Visions of sipping gin and lemonade's on the dunes with their future in peril could be something clearly reflected in the choruses of "Everything's Fine" and "Playboys of the Western World." Themes of affluence, decadence and eventual decay in spite of the outside world are everywhere, even by the skull and shells amidst an explosion of color in the Everest Hall painting that graces the cover. This is "Tides End," indeed.

Armed with a new arsenal of material, Sonny connected with producer and engineer, Mark Verbos, who had moved to New York from Berlin after a prolific career in techno and electronic music. The entire album was recorded at Mark's studio, a former electric room in the base of the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge. "It was actually a very uninspiring and uncreative but it forced us to use our imagination and find new ways to work together,"says Kilfoyle. So when they encountered a creative impasse they would consult The KLF's
"manual" or Verbos would choose a card from Brian Eno's "Oblique Strategies." To clear the cobwebs of influence, the producer chose to only allow Sonny to listen to Seal, Simply Red, Enigma, and early Chicago house music during the recording process. This helped build texture and depth in a recording that blended ambiance and immediacy to the established foundation of all the of Minks' previous work.
