    Pressed On Red Colored Vinyl

Released less than a year after The Idiot, Lust For Life is a return to the sloppy, sleazy, bluesy swagger of the Stooges. Though the record is, again produced by David Bowie, he takes much more of a backseat musically, allowing for Iggy Pop to take center stage in his return to form. His best solo album and an absolute classic from this legend. Reissued on red vinyl.

    The Idiot

Originally released in 1977, this was the first album Iggy Pop made after the dissolution of the Stooges, several jailings and a self-imposed stay in a mental institution. Produced by David Bowie, and including music written almost entirely by him, this is Iggys most introspective and heavy work. Much more mechanical than the sleazy proto-punk of the Stooges, The Idiot was a huge influence on the post-punk sound of folks like Joy Division and Magazine. An absolute classic on 180g vinyl.

    The Idiot (Awaiting Repress)

The Idiot is the debut solo album by American rock singer Iggy Pop. It was the first of two LPs released in 1977 which Pop wrote and recorded in collaboration with David Bowie. Sessions for the album were begun prior to the recording of the first installment in Bowie's Berlin Trilogy, Low (1977), and The Idiot has thus been called the unofficial beginning of Bowie's Berlin period. Drawing on the electronic sounds of German groups such as Kraftwerk, The Idiot is a departure from the hard rock of Pop's former band the Stooges and has been compared to Bowie's contemporaneous albums in its treated instrument sounds and introspective atmosphere.

The album is regarded by critics as one of Pop's best works but is not generally considered representative of his output. Its title was inspired by Dostoyevsky's novel The Idiot, three of the participants in the recording-Bowie, Pop and Tony Visconti-being familiar with the book. The album has been characterized as a major influence on subsequent post-punk, industrial, and gothic artists.

Recorded At Mantra Studios In Chicago - March 28th, 1977

This release, taken from a live radio broadcast of an in-house set recorded at Mantra Studios in Chicago, captures Iggy and Bowie alongside their touring band; during what was essentially a radio session, but one which captures superbly the essence of the tour they were undertaking at the time. Recorded just 10 days after the release of The Idiot on 28th March 1977, this recording reveals a truly legendary occasion for fans, unlikely as they are to have previously heard this rare set.

Secondhand Daylight is the second studio album by English post-Punk band Magazine, released in 1979. One single, Rhythm of Cruelty, was released from the album.

The new Magazine lineup was stable until mid-1980 and consisted of Howard Devoto (vocals), John McGeoch (guitar and saxophone), Barry Adamson (bass), Dave Formula (keyboards) and newly recruited drummer John Doyle. The first release with Doyle had been the Give Me Everything single from November 1978.

The album was produced and engineered by Colin Thurston. The album was Thurston's first production job; significantly, he had worked as an engineer for David Bowie's Heroes and Iggy Pop's The Idiot and would later produce The Party's Over by Talk Talk.

    L.A. Confidential

    Limited Edition Red Colored Vinyl

L.A. Confidential contains a treasure trove of unreleased outtakes from the sessions that were initially recorded in 1979 and 1980 by Bomp mastermind Greg Shaw. After the initial break up of the Dead Boys, nihilistic front man extraordinaire Stiv Bators recorded material for Disconnected and several singles for Bomp. The music took a decidedly different approach, bypassing punk chutzpuh like Caught With the Meat in Your Mouth for '60s-derived garage pop abandon. Upon release, Dead Boys fans were less than enthused. Even so, this material stands on its own and continues to be rediscovered by a new audience much like Iggy's post-Stooges discs The Idiot and Lust for Life. The 18 tracks are all remastered from the original tapes, including alternate mixes of The Last Year, It's Cold Outside, Not That Way Anymore, Circumstantial Evidence, I'll Be Alright, a demo version of I'll Stand Accused, a rehearsal of the Damned's Neat, Neat, Neat, and Morrison Rant (recorded live at the Ritz in 1980), which is pure throwaway fun.

    Post Pop Depression

A lot of geezers my age don't work out of their comfort zone anymore because once you become legendary you don't want people challenging you." - Iggy Pop

Post Pop Depression is IGGY POP's new, studio album, produced by Joshua Homme (Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death Metal). The 17th Iggy Pop album, and a worthy addition to the 22 album legacy spawned with the immortal trilogy of The Stooges, Fun House and Raw Power, spanning massively influential solo outings including 1977's opening 1-2 combo of The Idiot and Lust For Life, and 1990's gold-certified Brick By Brick.

The first Iggy Pop album co-created with producer Homme, Post Pop Depression began with a succinctly worded text from Iggy to Joshua, and was realized in seclusion with Homme's enlisted aid of his Queens Of The Stone Age bandmate and Dead Weather-man Dean Fertitia and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

Post Pop Depression is a singular work that stands proudly alongside the best works of either of its principles, from The Stooges to Queens Of The Stone Age, bearing its creators' undeniable sonic DNA while sounding like nothing they've done before. It's a record that wouldn't exist without either Pop or Homme-and one that probably shouldn't in theory if you really think about it-but it does, and we and rock n roll are all the better for it.

King Kong: Jean-Luc Ponty Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa

In 1969, the legendary Frank Zappa introduced the rock music world to the stellar electric violin and keyboard work of Jean-Luc Ponty with the collaborative masterwork King Kong: Jean Luc Ponty Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa. Featuring a handful of Zappa's earlier classics like Idiot Bastard Son, as well as the exceptional orchestral piece Music for Electric Violin and Low Budget Orchestra, King Kong surely has become a progressive rock/jazz masterpiece. Circles

In the years since [Soul Coughing's] 1999 breakup, [Mike Doughty] has re-emerged as a top-notch singer-songwriter, seemingly eager to shed the ghosts of his past. So ultimately, it was a nice surprise when, earlier this year, he announced he was going to do an album of re-imagined versions of tracks he originally recorded with Soul Coughing. If you've listened to any one of the band's albums, you probably can understand why there has been a little cult following built behind their work.

On "Circles Super Bon Bon " Doughty reclaims the songs and, most likely, delivers them in ways he had originally imagined. In interviews, he has discussed how he would have to fight for songs to sound a certain way. Sometimes, he would have to concede. So one could look at this album as a revisionist exercise. How his former bandmates feel about this is unknown. But, the big surprise is he actually improves and/or nicely compliments the vast majority of these cuts.

Much of the record is given more of a pop sheen than one probably would expect. The effect works. Sure, some of the songs were hits in their original form (like "Super Bon Bon" and "Circles," for instance) but the collection's revelatory moments generally stem from the songs that didn't get airplay.

"The Idiot Kings," in its original form, had a brooding, heavy, driving quality. The version here is infinitely brighter, thanks to a choice key change and a well-used drum loop.

"True Dreams of Wichita" was originally an upright-bass driven lament. In its new form, it loses no intensity while it ends up sounding like a more complete cousin to Primitive Radio Gods' 1996 hit, "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand."

In fact, the album on the whole seems celebratory. Doughty is aiming these songs at an audience willing to dance. "How Many Cans" and "Sleepless," which were originally both slow-building, almost meditative dirges packed with an underlying sense of menace, now bounce around with newly reinforced backbones.

This album demonstrates that Soul Coughing really should've had more hits and Doughty deserves respect as one of his generation's keenest songwriters. While Doughty, himself, was probably exorcising personal demons by re-imagining these songs, in the process, he has given them a second life.

Any fan of Soul Coughing should find this album, at the very least, to be a fascinating companion-piece to the original takes. In this surprising move, Doughty does his legacy proud. While some favorites may have not made the track list, this album, nevertheless, is a reminder of these songs' lasting endurance. This is Doughty's well-earned victory lap.

Ranked 309/500 On Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

Although Jane's Addiction's 1987 self-titled debut was an intriguing release (few alternative bands at the time had the courage to mix modern rock, prog rock, and heavy metal together), it paled in comparison to their now classic major-label release one year later, Nothing's Shocking. Produced by Dave Jerden and Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell, the album was more focused and packed more of a sonic wallop than its predecessor; the fiery performances often create an amazing sense that it could all fall apart at any second, creating a fantastic musical tension. Such tracks as Up the Beach, Ocean Size, and one of alt-rock's greatest anthems, Mountain Song, contain the spaciousness created by the band's two biggest influences, Led Zeppelin and the Cure. Elsewhere, Ted, Just Admit It... (about serial killer Ted Bundy) and the haunting yet gorgeous Summertime Rolls stretched to epic proportions, making great use of changing moods and dynamics (something most alt-rock bands of the time were oblivious to). An incredibly consistent and challenging album, other highlights included the rockers Had a Dad and Pigs in Zen, the horn-driven Idiots Rule, the jazz instrumental Thank You Boys, and the up-tempo Standing in the Shower...Thinking. Like most great bands, it was not a single member whose contribution was greater: Perry Farrell's unique voice and lyrics, Dave Navarro's guitar riffs and wailing leads, Eric Avery's sturdy basslines, and one of rock's greatest and most powerful drummers, Stephen Perkins. Nothing's Shocking is a must-have for lovers of cutting-edge, influential, and timeless hard rock.

Bob Dylan: The Bootleg Series, Vols. 1-3

Bob Dylan has always been incredibly prolific, only releasing a fraction of what he records. Such a policy has made him a prime target for bootleggers over the years, finally prompting this sanctioned 1991 dive into the Dylan vaults. It consists of rare tracks, unreleased outtakes, early versions of classics (Times They Are a-Changin', Like a Rolling Stone, I Shall Be Released), and alternate versions that sometimes cut the originals (Idiot Wind). A measure of Dylan's depth is his list of discarded songs (She's Your Lover Now, Blind Willie McTell, Series of Dreams) that would be the crown jewels of most catalogs. These tracks serve as a shadow history of one of our most important artists. - Ben Edmonds

    Moonlight

Engine-revving dose of filthy, leather-clad blues.
    - NME

A shit-kicking garage greaser with badass hooks.
    - SPIN

Stripped- down garage rock with crunching guitars
    and kiss-off cockiness.
    - GQ

This is desert-burned blues rock boosted by punk,
    soul and hip-hop
    - ROLLING STONE

On his 2011 debut Will The Guns Come Out, Hanni El Khatib tried
    something he'd never tried before-making a bedroom-style
recording of his then stripped-to-the-skeleton guitar-and-drums
rock 'n' roll mostly for the sheer joy of making it. For his ferocious
2013 follow-up Head In The Dirt, he tried something new again,
showing up at producer Dan Auerbach's analog-dreamland
Nashville studio with nothing but the clothes on his back and an
    open mind.

But after Head In The Dirt's release and almost a year of relentless
touring, Hanni knew he needed to go past 'unpredictable' all the
way to 'unprecedented.' He needed isolation, time and the chance
to experiment. So after 30 days locked in hand-picked L.A. studio
The Lair, the result is the album Moonlight-the rarest and most
welcome kind of album, made at that perfect point in life where
confidence, experience, and technique unite to help an artist do
    anything they want.

That's why it starts with a song that sounds like a Mobb Deep beat
under a Suicide-style synth drone and ends with an
ESG-meets-LCD Soundsystem gone italo-disco song about life and
death. That's why it collides crushing crate-digger drumbeats
that'd be right at home on a Can LP or an Eddie Bo 45 with
bleeding distorto guitar, bent and broken barroom piano and
hallucinatory analog flourishes. (In fact, some smart producer is
going to sample the drums from this album and complete the circle
of life.) And that's also why Moonlight feels like the album he's
always wanted to make: "What would it sound like if RZA got in the
studio with Iggy Pop and Tom Waits?" he asks. "I don't know! That
    was my approach on everything."

It's a personal album in the most primal sense, put together in any
way that worked. Iggy Pop and David Bowie did this kind of thing
on The Idiot, the Wu-Tang Clan did it on 36 Chambers and the
Clash did it three times over on Sandinista. And now it's Hanni's
turn, across 11 new lightning-struck songs, each written and
recorded in its own flash of inspiration. It sounds like an album
made by an endless list of collaborators, but really Moonlight was
more like the first do-it-almost-all-yourself music Hanni ever made,
except after six years recording and touring, he'd learned to do so
    much more.

    21st Century Breakdown

Green Days long-awaited eighth studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, is the trios first studio release since 2004s Grammy-winning Best Rock Album American Idiot, which debuted at #1, spawned five hit singles, and sold more than 12 million copies worldwide. Divided into three acts; Heroes And Cons, Charlatans And Saints, and Horseshoes And Handgrenades, the songs follow a young couple, Christian and Gloria, as they experience the disappointment and promise of the new millennium.
