    The Slip (Awaiting Repress)

Nine Inch Nails' highly acclaimed new album, The Slip features 10 concise and immediate tracks performed by Trent Reznor, Josh Freese, Robin Finck and Alessandro Cortini. Incorporating the symphonic electronica remeniscient of 1999's The Fragile and the ambient mood pieces of Ghosts I-IV, The Slip easily ranks as one of Reznor's most satisfying endeavors to date. Highlights include the pounding Discipline and the spare, piano-driven Light in the Sky which showcases Reznor's famous brooding persona. This 180g gatefold vinyl version also contains a 24-page booklet.

Legendary NYC post-hardcore act Quicksand will be rereleasing a very special edition of their debut album, Slip via Shop Radio Cast. First official vinyl reissue of Quicksands major label debut ''Slip'' since its original pressing in 1993. Remastered and pressed on limited edition 180 Gram vinyl. Housed in a gatefold jacket and includes a Euro inner sleeve, never-before-seen photos, and a cover of The Smith's ''How Soon Is Now.''

Founded in 1990 by frontman Walter Schreifels, Quicksand rose to notoriety in the '90s, with many dubbing the band a key pioneer in New York City's post-hardcore scene. Along with a sophomore release, Slip launched the band on a series of North American and European tours in the '90s alongside the likes of Rage Against The Machine, Anthrax, and more. The band would eventually disband in 1999, but recently reunited for a one-night-only gig in June, 2012.

    Autumn Response

A spartan folk/pop record filled with tinderbox intimacies, composed of some of the shortest songs ever recorded by Youngs. Autumn Response is a singer-songwriter album; his fingers slip over the steel strings with little feet and whispery toes, his gently prophetic songs evoke Roger Waters, and the folk phase play is sure to appeal to fans of Animal Collective's Sung Tongs.

Revival is something of a fresh start for Gomez, both musically and personally. Taking more control over the album, with more writing credits and production oversight, the sound veers away from the bubblegum nature of her early work or the genre-hopping aspects of other releases. Instead, the album sticks pretty close to a club bangers-and-ballads mix with a couple of R&B-inspired jams thrown in.

Gomez sounds most at home on the uptempo dance tracks like Kill 'Em with Kindness or Me & the Rhythm, where the smoothness of her voice fits in with the vacant abandon of the beat. She also does a fine job on the tracks that slip outside the bounds of the formula, namely on the snappy, sassy Charli XCX-written Same Old Love or the steamy, tricked-out Latin beats and weird synthesizers in Body Heat. These tracks show at her best, dialing up her personality to match the wit and imagination shown in the arrangements.

    Let 'Em Roll

During the Blue Note 75th anniversary celebration the label released 100 essential Blue Note LPs and asked New York Times readers what titles they'd like to see make the list. This album is one of five new reissues that were hand-selected by Blue Note President, Don Was, based on New York Times reader recommendations.

In an unusual setting for a groove/soul jazz setting, B3 organist extraordinaire big John Patton creates a band around himself that includes Grant Green, drummer Otis Finch, and vibraphonist Bobby Hutcherson. It's truly weird to think of vibes on a groove date, but the way Patton's understated playing works, and the way Green is literally all things to all players, Hutcherson's role is not only a clearly defined one, but adds immeasurably to both depth and texture on this date.

What also makes this possible is the symbiotic relationship between Patton and Green. There is a double groove conscious swing happening on every track here, from the bluesed-out slip and slide of the title track which opens the record to a killer version of Hank Mobley's The Turnaround, which expands the blues vibe into solid soul territory because of Hutcherson's ability to play pianistically and slip into the funk groove whenever necessary. Green's deadly in his solo on the track, shimmering arpeggios through Patton's big fat chords and chunky hammering runs.

Also notable are Patton's own tunes, the most beautiful of which is Latona, a floating Latin number with a killer salsa rhythm in 6/8. As Patton vamps through the chorus, Green slips in one of his gnarliest solos ever. It begins with a groove like run in the hard bop blues and then shoves itself into overdrive, capturing the cold sweat of a Bola Sete or Wes Montgomery in his groove years. But when Green goes for the harmonic edges, all bets are off: Hutcherson lays out, and he and Patton go running to the bridge and bring the melody back just in time to take it out.

This is one of the least appreciated of Patton's records, and there's no reason for it; it is great.

    Alright Again!

One of the most satisfying contemporary Brown [albums] of all for the discerning blues fan. Nothing but swinging, horn-abetted blues adorn this album, as Gate pays tribute to an influence and a protege by covering T-Bone Walker's Strollin' with Bones and Albert Collins's Frosty. Brown's jauntily revives Junior Parker's I Feel Alright Again and Percy Mayfield's Give Me Time to Explain, while his own numbers -- a funky Dollar Got the Blues, the luxurious blues Sometimes I Slip -- are truly brilliant.

After studying at the Art Institute of New York City's culinary program, Action went on to join the restaurant business as a chef. He slipped in the kitchen breaking his leg, was out of work, and decided to become a rapper. In the summer of 2014, No Doubt s Tony Kanal [bass], Tom Dumont [guitar], and Adrian Young [drums] and singer Davey Havok [AFI, Blakq Audio] began writing and demoing music together. Without telling a soul outside of their significant others, the four musicians clandestinely moved into a cramped downtown Los Angeles rehearsal spot and revved up what would become DREAMCAR. The result of this collaboration is their self-titled debut album, DREAMCAR, produced by Tim Pagnotta [Neon Trees], with whom the band found a kindred spirit.

The band's name actually reflects their ambitions. DREAMCAR speaks to a nostalgia, but as much as it speaks to the past, it also speaks to the present and the future, singer Davey Havok says. It mirrors hopes, aspirations, and attaining the unattainable. I would hope the songs do the same thing. Rife with shimmering guitar tones, percussive slap bass, bombastic drums, and a neon-lit dancefloor dreaminess, DREAMCAR gleefully nods to the decade of Boy George and Back to the Future through a kaleidoscope of wisdom earned from three decades creating and connecting with fans worldwide.

The first single Kill For Candy instantly enchants with its upbeat energy and sweet, saccharine chant punctuated by a twisting and turning guitar and driving rhythms. The album swings between the Frankie Goes To Hollywood-style risquÉ spoken narrative of On The Charts to the delicate longing of the synth-washed Slip On The Moon where Havok pleads, Just look for me, I will look for you. Born To Lie builds from a breathy verse into an expansive refrain, while the opener After I Confess sees his hypnotic and haunting vocal soar over airy and open soundscapes. Ultimately, it's that combination of delectable and dangerous which will leave listeners everywhere satisfied. This is a big moment for us, Kanal leaves off. It's a new beginning. We can't wait to perform the songs live.

Sometimes stars emerge. Sometimes stars are thrust upon us. And sometimes stars simply slip into the atmosphere as if propelled by something otherworldly. It is into this last category that the astonishing presence, voice, look and feel of Lana Del Rey falls. Musical stardom is not an option with Ms Del Rey. It is her vocation. She calls herself the 'gangsta Nancy Sinatra' and defines her genre as 'Hollywood pop/sadcore,' a dramatic new loop for pop music. Her look she describes as 'Lolita got lost in the hood.' Get used to it all. This isn't just soundbite, it's Lana's reality.

The EP's lead single is Ride, a downtempo pop ballad produced by Rick Rubin and co-written by Video Games author Justin Parker. The video for Ride premiered at a promotional event in Santa Monica on October 10, airing online two days later. A cover of the popular 1950s track, Blue Velvet, and an original track, Burning Desire, were included on the EP as promotional singles. An ancillary music video for Blue Velvet was used in a commercial for clothing line H&M to help promote the EP. For the 2012 Paris Motor Show, Del Rey served as a model for the Jaguar F-Type luxury automobile and performed Burning Desire as another avenue of promotion. Burning Desire also serves as the soundtrack for an eponymously titled short film starring Damian Lewis scheduled for a 2013 release. A teaser trailer was released to Del Rey's official YouTube channel with snippets of each song featured on the EP. Even before its release, the song Cola received media attention due to the controversial nature of its lyrics. The track was confirmed to be the EP's second single several days after its release. Music videos for Ride, Blue Velvet, and Bel Air were posted to VEVO and YouTube to help promote the EP.

Sunflower is considered by most fans - and some of the Beach Boys themselves - to be their finest work after Pet Sounds. More so than any other Beach Boys album, it's a true group collaboration, with Carl Wilson overseeing the production and mixdowns. Brian Wilson himself was very involved in the creation of this album, which includes one of his most enduring compositions, This Whole World, as well as an expansion of a fragment from the Smile sessions, Cool Cool Water, featuring some of the band's most intricate and playful interlocking vocal parts. Sunflower is also the home of some of Dennis Wilson's most enduring work, including the uptempo album opener Slip On Through, and the classic Beach Boys ballad Forever.

Sunflower, originally titled Add Some Music (after the group's initial single for Warners, Add Some Music To Your Day, which failed to garner enough airplay to become a hit), underwent several lineup revisions before its eventual release in the late summer of 1970. The album, hailed by the U.K. music press as The Beach Boys' Sgt. Pepper, failed to sell, despite glowing reviews and wide acclaim for its rich sonic texture (due in no small part to the efforts of Beach Boys' engineer Stephen Desper, a noted pioneer in quadrophonic and surround sound technologies).

    The Evening Descends

This wholly demented ensemble from Norman, OK dabbles in glam, slips in a little funk and soul, drinks the psychedelic Kool-Aid, blasts the synths, cranks up the guitars, and wraps it all up with a dose of pop smarts. Picking up where their 2006 debut So Gone left off, Evangelicals leave behind much of their ADD-addled approach, instead taking their wealth of great ideas and harnessing them for good. The hyperactive, overdriven pop is still here, but is balanced with restraint. Josh Jones' wild narratives and propulsive pop songs are anchored with the right balance of stoicism and wit by the bass and drums.

Box Set Features 7x Albums Across 10x 180-Gram Vinyl

Includes The First Vinyl Pressing Of Live From The Royal Albert Hall, Recorded Live At The Historic Venue In July Of 2009 As A Box Set Exclusive

Includes A Slip Mat Featuring The "K" From The Band's Logo And Inspired By The Vintage Lights Of The Las Vegas Strip

No other band has soundtracked the 2000s more than Vegas rockers The Killers and now their nearly 15 years-long discography will be celebrated in one place with a seven-volume Killers Career Vinyl Box through Island/UMe.

The career-spanning collection will be available on 180-gram black vinyl and include a slip mat featuring the "K" from the band's logo and inspired by the vintage lights of the Las Vegas Strip

This career retrospective vinyl box marks the first time that all seven of the band's albums have been collected in one complete box set including: Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Sawdust, Day & Age, Battle Born, Wonderful Wonderful and for the first time on vinyl, Live From The Royal Albert Hall.

Originally released in November 2009 as a live DVD, this double live album captures the kinetic energy of their historic lives shows at the Royal Hall in 2009 and is now available as a double LP and is exclusive to the Career Vinyl Box. It also includes their mid-career compilation album, Sawdust, which contains B-sides, covers and remixes, as well as an outtake from Sam's Town, and 'Tranquilize', featuring a guest appearance by Lou Reed.

As arguably the biggest indie-pop stars on the planet, their indie days are well behind them, selling out stadiums and playing tributes at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And yet it seems just like yesterday that every 20-something in skinny jeans was blaring the indie disco staple 'Mr Brightside' from The Killers' three-times-platinum 2004 debut album, Hot Fuss. Even 14 years later, the band's most enduring single remains firmly in the charts, having just its 200th week in the Billboard top 100.

After Hot Fuss ushered in their signature post-New Wave sound with massive hooks, they continued on their course of amassing hit after hit of transcendent anthems from 'All These Things That I've Done' and to the Springsteen-eque singalong 'When You Were Young' off their sophomore album Sam's Town.

With his stylish swagger and crooning tenor, frontman Brandon Flowers could turn his sardonic streak on songs like "Smile Like You Mean It," and 'Somebody Told Me' into chart gold. With each album, the group flexed their versatility, from the garage rock-pop of Hot Fuss to electro-clash energy of Day & Age to the stadium rocker of Battle Born and most recently 2017's funk-infused Wonderful Wonderful, which snagged the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

    Pattern of Excel

What moves faster than the internet? OK, maybe light. But besides that, it's hard to find something more fleeting, rapidly changing and dynamic as the voice of the online community, which ultimately shapes the contemporary creative landscape both on and off the screen. As it happens, sometimes the artists who are most celebrated by the collective interweb are the same ones who later are in the throes of its fickleness. In the case of Lee Bannon, he's managed to slip into the elite of so many disparate (yet all discerning) scenes that even the speediest of hype surfers can't seem to keep up with his sonic shapeshifting. After an initial rise in the world of hip-hop (self-releasing beat tapes, collaborating with rap royalty like Souls of Mischief and Hieroglyphics and producing and DJing for Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era crew), Lee Bannon turned his attention to a more ambitious, unconventional and decidedly anti-fad cause: taking influence from Goldie, Aphex Twin and the legacy of drum & bass and jungle to craft his debut LP Alternate/Endings. The album, released in January 2014 on Ninja Tune, was percussively dense, somehow both raw and razor-sharp, and featured enough peaks and plummets to blow the snapback right off the expectant hip-hop head's skull. Despite (or perhaps because of) the bold shift from previous work, the album was released to critical acclaim with words of praise coming from Rolling Stone, Resident Advisor, FACT, Pitchfork, The Guardian and more. Never one to stagnate, Lee Bannon has spent the subsequent months further honing his skills as a hotly-tipped collaborator (working more with Joey Bada$$, Wiki and producing Mick Jenkins' newest single, as well as more credits to come later this year), touring extensively (including a run with Trash Talk and Ratking in North America) and turning his attention once more to the studio for solo work. His sophomore LP on Ninja Tune, Pattern of Excel, again signals a movement away from the ground he's already covered and toward his own vision of the leftfield future. Gone are the rapidfire breaks and growling b-lines of his debut, replaced instead by a considered exploration of ambient soundscapes and drone influences. Though less immediately demanding of the listener's attention, Pattern of Excel shines in its quietude: the bokeh which filters through Artificial Stasis, the distant but steady build of Memory 6, the strings sadly quavering into a melody on Disneµ Girls. Rather than a departure, Pattern of Excel can only be considered a continuation of Lee Bannon's proven flexibility and commitment to innovation and progression.

Straight From The Heart (Awaiting Repress)

Ann Peebles' climb up the career ladder was rather more conventional than spectacular in the tough, rough days of rhythm and blues. She was first discovered when she appeared in Memphis nightclubs, was given a break by the big-band leader Gene 'Bowlegs' Miller, and landed her first top hit with the celebrated song I Can't Stand The Rain.

Towards the end of the Seventies she made a well-timed retreat just before the outbreak of the highly commercialised disco wave, only to return many years later with a revival of her old songs. Her album from 1972 has certainly not mellowed with age. Her singing is sharp and soulful, and comes right from the heart (Slipped, Tripped And Fell In Love). The beat is powerful, throbbing, young and fresh (What You Laid On Me) or surging and groovy (How Strong Is A Woman?). The arrangements come across as sophisticated and well balanced, yet do not baulk at harsh attacks from the winds nor from the use of Hammond and Hohner keyboards, which were so popular at that time. Melody, singers and big band are airy and finely interwoven (Somebody's On Your Case), while a fusion of soft swing and snappy acerbity (I Pity The Fool) rounds off this album which is filled with pure emotion, heart and soul.
