    Wake Up Call

Recorded with producer Martin Terefe at London's Kensaltown Studios, WAKE UP CALL finds Theory - Tyler Connolly (lead vocals, lead guitar), David Brenner (rhythm guitar), Dean Back (bass), and Joey Dandeneau (drums) - extending themselves beyond the easy comforts of complacency to create an album that pushes the songwriting envelope with songs like Rx, which takes aim at the opioid epidemic impacting families across North America and PCH, which juxtaposes the nostalgia for seemingly endless nights with friends and the bitter realities of life.

    Hybrid Theory

When the first track from a band's debut album gets added to major rock stations four weeks before its official release, it must be something very special. That's the case with One Step Closer from Linkin Park's first album, Hybrid Theory. Built on an aggressive hard rock foundation, flavored with hip-hop vocal stylings and electronic fourishes, as melodic as it is confrontational, with a strong lyrical message, Linkin Park is diverse and unique. It's also one step closer to scoring an important debut album - and that's not just theory. Certified Multi-Platinum (8 times) by the RIAA. (4/02)

    The Shadow Theory

Kamelot are one of metal's most unique, influential and prestigious acts that blends symphonic
metal, prog, power metal and world music - so it comes as little surprise that the whole metal
world held its breath in anticipation of The Shadow Theory!

Deeply intrigued by analytical psychology, Kamelot spent the past year engineering a groundbreaking album leaning on
three pillars: The Shadow Empire (The global mind), The Shadow Key (The Resistance) and The
Shadow Wall (The veil that blinds us from the truth). A dystopian glimpse at the complexity of the
human mind and its place in an oppressive society - an obvious parallel to all of us, in the here
and now. And most of all a fascinating and eerie backdrop for thirteen lush and artsy songs that
boast Kamelot`s trademarks; yet the band steps out to add new and modern elements along with
bringing in some amazing emotions that harken back to their earlier days.

Produced by Sascha Paeth (Avantasia) and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, more), the theatrical and beautifully
dark The Shadow Theory is not only a new chapter in Kamelot`s illustrious career, it also is their
most thrilling and diverse effort so far!

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (commonly shortened to The 7 Day Theory or Don Killuminati and sometimes called Makaveli) is the fifth studio album by Tupac Shakur. Released under his new stage name Makaveli, it was his first studio album to be posthumously released.[9] The album was completely finished in a total of seven days during the first week of August 1996. The lyrics were written and recorded in only three days and mixing took an additional four days. These are among the very last songs Shakur recorded before his fatal shooting on September 7, 1996. The album was originally due for release in March 1997, but due to his death, Suge Knight released it four months earlier.

George Papa G Pryce, Former Head of Publicity for Death Row, claimed that Makaveli which we did was a sort of tongue-in-cheek, and it was not ready to come out, [but] after Tupac was murdered, it did come out... Before that, it was going to be a sort of an underground.

    The Truth Is...

The platinum-selling Vancouver quartet builds arena-ready hooks around hard rocking stories of good times, bad times and everything in between. "Lowlife, is a raucous anthem celebrating simple pleasures. Meanwhile, The Bitch Came Back gives a hilarious send-off to a bad ex with roaring guitars and flourishes of horns. Hurricane stirs up a storm of emotions over an orchestral hum of guitars and massive chorus. Then there's Head Above Water, which delivers an uplifting, contemplative message encased in mid-tempo rhythms. Theory of a Deadman are telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth, like it or not.

    Blaze Of Glory

    Translucent Pink Vinyl

Even before the world lost musician and author Scott Miller in 2013, the work he did with his band Game Theory had also been missing for decades. Omnivore Recordings is pleased to right that audio wrong with the first in a series of expanded reissues of the Davis, California group's classic catalog.

Blaze Of Glory, originally released in 1982, was the first music from Miller and company, after an album and EP fronting Alternate Learning. It showed the beginnings of the power-pop mixed with new-wave sensibilities the band would become known for and even hints at the upcoming Paisley Underground sound that would take California by storm.

Unavailable in its original form since its initial release (the material was remixed and re-recorded as part of a now out-of-print 1993 compilation that also commands top dollar in collector circles), the vinyl LP also sees its first reissue in over 3 decades. The first pressing on translucent pink vinyl (black to follow).

Mastered from the original tapes and featuring an 8 page booklet with rare photos, an essay from Game Theory tour manager (and set co-producer) Dan Vallor and remembrances from band members and colleagues, including The Dream Syndicate's Steve Wynn.

Packaging Includes Rare And Previously Unseen Photos From The Band's Photographer, Robert Toren

The Reissue Also Features Essays From Easter, Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star), And Franklin Bruno (The Village Voice, Salon.com)

Their final studio album - remastered and expanded! Following up 1987's Lolita Nation (whose reissue appeared on numerous year-end "best of" lists for 2016) would be no easy task for Game Theory. But, Scott Miller and company were certainly up for the task.

Re-teaming with producer Mitch Easter (R.E.M., Marshall Crenshaw, Velvet Crush), 2 Steps From The Middle Ages was released in 1988 and showed the band had no shortage of energy, experimentation, and excellent material.

The first pressing of this LP reissue, on vinyl for the first time since its initial release, comes on translucent orange colored vinyl. Packaging includes rare and previously unseen photos from the band's photographer, Robert Toren, as well as essays from Easter, Ken Stringfellow (The Posies, Big Star), and Franklin Bruno (The Village Voice, Salon.com).

The band's drummer, Gil Ray, who was involved in all aspects of the Game Theory reissue series including this title, sadly passed away earlier this year. This reissue is lovingly dedicated to him.

    Meteora

Linkin Park's second studio effort (not counting the 2002 remix album Reanimation) overflows with glossy production values and Big Rock oomph, fully embracing the pop instincts of their Hybrid Theory debut. For many, Theory sounded inexcusably corporate, from its too-timely rap-rock sound to the long list of product endorsements included in the liner notes. Meteora will only amplify those complaints, but this album is actually truer to the band's nature. It's still impossible not to hear strains of Limp Bizkit, Korn, Rage Against the Machine, and the like. None of those acts, however, would try something as blatantly anthemic as Easier to Run, which would sound fine to a Def Leppard fan, or as borderline danceable as Breaking the Habit and Session. Linkin Park is what Trent Reznor was always afraid of becoming, but if you ever wished he would drop the pretenses and just make a hair-metal record, you'll find Meteora to your liking. - Matthew Cooke

    Deluxe Gatefold Sleeve

    2x Clear LP

    Two Bonus Tracks

Never before pressed on vinyl, IBM 1401, A User's Manual, is one of Jóhann Jóhannsson's most-loved works. Originally released in 2006, the decade since its release has seen Jóhann establish himself as one of the most important composers in the world, notably scoring movies such as Arrival, Blade Runner 2049, Sicario and The Theory of Everything. Johann's scores have been nominated for two Academy Awards®, two Golden Globes®, a Grammy® and three BAFTA® awards. He was awarded the Golden Globe® for Best Original Score for The Theory Of Everything.

Inspired by the work his father did in the sixties when chief maintenance engineer of one of Iceland's first computers, Jóhann originally wrote IBM 1401, A User's Manual to accompany a dance piece by long-standing collaborator and friend, Erna Ómarsdóttir. For the album release, he rewrote the piece for a sixty-piece string orchestra, with a new final movement (built around a poem by Dorothy Parker) and incorporating both electronics and reel-to-reel recordings made by his father and friends in 1971 of the IBM 1401 mainframe computer singing the hymn Ísland Ögrum Skorið by Sigvaldi Kaldalóns as it was being decommissioned.

The first ever pressing of IBM 1401, A User's Manual comes in a deluxe gatefold sleeve, reworked by Chris Bigg (v23) from his original design. Pressed on clear vinyl, two live tracks recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra have also been added.

    Not Available

While there are a million stories about The Residents, one of the more intriguing concerns the recording of their second LP, Not Available. Early in the career of the band, the theory of obscurity was introduced to them by the German avant-guardist, N. Senada. The plan called for the creation of complete projects that were literally not intended to be heard by anyone other than its creators. The Residents realized the truth in this ideal: that music really was difficult to record without considering the audience. They thought the experience gained by completing such a project would prove worthwhile toward achieving an independent attitude toward music. Not Available was completed in 1974 and stored. Several years later, in 1978, The Residents were severely over schedule on their opus, Eskimo. The record company pulled Not Available from the masters room and released it. Surprisingly, The Residents were not upset by this fact since it in no way violated their original intent.

UUVVWWZ is an avant-blues quartet from Lincoln Nebraska, comprised of Teal Gardner, Jim Schroeder, Dustin Wilbourn, and David Ozinga. They have been playing as UU for five years and have put out one album previously, a self-titled record that was screech-cronky, clubbier, and babier than our current work, the trusted language.

They took two years to write this album, and in the trusted language they aspire to braid music theory with experimental poetry, which functions as a conduit toward a schizo-cultural critique and embodied project. From their previous record to the trusted language listeners will note a development, a shift resulting in an exceedingly unified perspective that is more acutely political and cohesive sounding.

    Lanterns

Equal parts producer and composer, Son Lux (aka Ryan Lott) bridges an unusual
gap between old-world music theory and next-level experimentation. Meditative
but heaving with energy, "Lanterns" nds a peculiar congruency between
futuristic soul and ancient sentiment. Driving orchestral electronica (Lost It To
Trying, No Crimes) is placed alongside creepy minimalism (Pyre), often starkly
juxtaposing densely layered arrangements with Lott's fragile voice.

In recent past Son Lux has gained notoriety both for his s/s/s project (with
Sufjan Stevens and Serengeti), and from being named NPR's "Best New Artist of
the Year". His third full-length album, and his rst for Joyful Noise (Kishi Bashi,
Sebadoh, etc.), positions Son Lux at the helm of an impressive ensemble of
instrumentalists and singers, including Chris Thile (The Punch Brothers), Peter
Silberman (The Antlers), DM Stith, Lily & Madeleine, Darren King (Mutemath),
Ieva Berberian (Gem Club) and yMusic (Dirty Projectors, Bon Iver).

    Occult Architecture Vol. 1

Meaning all things magick and supernatural, the root of the word occult is that which is hidden, concealed, beyond the limits of our minds. If this is occult, then the Occult Architecture of Moon Duo's fourth album - a psychedelic opus in two separate volumes released in 2017 - is an intricately woven hymn to the invisible structures found in the cycle of seasons and the journey of day into night, dark into light. Offering a cosmic glimpse into the hidden patterning embedded in everything, Occult Architecture reflects the harmonious duality of these light and dark energies through the Chinese theory of Yin and Yang. In Chinese, Yin means the shady side of the hill and is associated with the feminine, darkness, night, earth. Following this logic, Vol. 1 embraces and embodies Moon Duo's darker qualities - released appropriately, in the heart of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

    Release Date: July 27, 2018*

Michael Romeo is best known as the guitarist, chief songwriter and all-around main man behind the progressive rock titans Symphony X, whose daring mix of neoclassical shred, orchestral textures and wildly elaborate concept pieces has placed the band at the forefront of new metal thrill seekers.

The release of his new solo album, War of the Worlds, Part I, should further his reputation as one of the world's preeminent guitarists and composers of adventurous prog-rock. An ambitious 10-song disc, it blends bracing classic metal with textures that pay homage to film score giants Bernard Hermann and John Williams. For fans of Symphony X who have been waiting two decades for an honest to goodness Michael Romeo solo album (not counting his 1994 demo recording, The Dark Chapter, which was released in several countries), the arrival of War of the Worlds, Part I will be cause for celebration.

War Of The Worlds, Part 1 will be released worldwide on Mascot Label Group's prog imprint Music Theories Recordings.

    The Source

While Ayreon's 'Forever/Planet Y' saga seemed to have reached its conclusion
with the album 01011001, it's clear that Arjen Lucassen's creative muses
had other plans. The new Ayreon album the source revisits the forever saga,
adding a whole new chapter to Lucassen's impressive body of work. With its
top-flight cast of singers and musicians, compelling songs, overwhelming
sound, and intriguing story, The Source offers everything that has gained
Lucassen dedicated fans worldwide since he laid the foundations of Ayreon
    back in the mid-90's.

Just as on his previous albums, The Source has Arjen Lucassen playing a wide
variety of instruments, while the inimitable Ed Warby (O.A. Elegy, Gorefest,
Hail of Bullets) once again masterfully handles the drums, and features vocal
contributions from renowned artists like James Labrie (Dream Theater),

    The North (Awaiting Repress)

For more than a decade now, Stars have been winning over audiences with their sensitive, dreamy indie pop tunes. On September 4, the band will release their latest full-length offering, The North, via their own Soft Revolution Records imprint in Canada and via ATO Records south of the border. For fans who just can't wait until the disc is in stores, you can hear the whole thing now on Exclaim.ca.

The 12-song album was co-produced by Stars along with Marcus Paquin (Arcade Fire, Little Scream) and Graham Lessard (Plants & Animals, Young Galaxy) at RCA Victor Studios in Montreal. It is Stars' sixth album overall and follows 2010's The Five Ghosts.

Fans of Stars' past work are sure to find more material to enjoy here, since tracks like The Theory of Relativity and Hold On When You Get Love and Let Go When You Give It show the band at their most dreamy and pop-oriented, while the charging Backlines is slightly more rocking but will all Stars' signature sweetness.

    Jessie Jones

In 2013, Jessie Jones gave up her possessions, vanished into the nothingness of farm country, and found herself on interstellar overdrive - far away from her Disneyfied home in Orange County. For three years, she had fronted Burger Records' Feeding People, OC's answer to Black Sabbath. The teenage byproduct of gloomy acid trips and gospel choirs, Feeding People released two albums, got signed to Innovative Leisure in 2011, and played Low End Theory with Radiohead's Thom Yorke . The 19-year-old Jones, with her bluesy growl and whimsical melodies, was being compared to Jefferson Airplane's Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, and Screaming Females' Marissa Paternoster. In 2014, her voice returned to her with primal intent - like the caterwauling echoes of coyotes deep in the Hollywood hills. Earlier this year, Jones began singing with paranormal proto-punk outfit Death Valley Girls, which allowed her to release her demons and find salvation during what Jones describes as the most cosmically ordained project of her life. Reveling in the quantum wobble of her own alternative reality, Jones is now releasing her self-titled debut on Burger Records by channeling the voices in her head; not quite the sanitarium blues of Roky Erickson, but a mÉlange of Jim Morrison mysticism; a more stripped-down MGMT meets early-Grouplove; and Syd Barrett reverie. Under the guidance of producer Bobby Harlow (The Go) and Burger's Studio B, Jones' debut this summer will include guest appearances by drummer Duke Mushroom, violinist Hannah Glass, and Studio B regular King Tuff.
