    What Will Destroy You

First Pressing Of The Vinyl Limited To 1,000 Pieces On Creme Colored Wax

Kyle Morton, the lead singer of Portland's indie-orchestra Typhoon, releases his debut solo album. The
ten song album, What Will Destroy You, was recorded by Kyle and longtime Typhoon producer/collaborator
    Paul Laxer.

Of the album, Kyle says, Most of these songs were written in about a day, many of them while walking
aimlessly around Portland, others wrote themselves in the moments just before sleep. They were recorded and
mixed with the invaluable help of Paul Laxer from the inviolate comfort of his living room, mostly in the evenings
during the winter and early spring of 2015. At the outset there was no deliberate attempt at an overarching
concept, though once finished and lined up together the theme of my subconscious was revealed to me: this
was a record about love, more specifically (not devolving into platitudes just yet), the ambivalence of erotic
    love.

With a couple exceptions these songs are about kinds of love, from old fashioned heartache to acute
sadomasochism; some drawn from personal experience and others extrapolated from years of keen
    observation on the subject.

Leopold And His Fiction deliver soul-drenched, bare-bones rock 'n' roll that shakes with the power of '73-era Stooges seducing with the R&B of Motown. The album was produced by Chris "Frenchie" Smith (...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, Jet) and Vance Powell (Jack White, Arctic Monkeys). Destroyer: Resurrected

Ranked 496/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

This album has received recognition many years later.

In 1989, Kerrang! magazine listed the album at #36 among the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums of All Time.

In 2006, it was placed at #60 on Guitar World magazine's list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Albums of All Time.

The album was also featured in 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

This is KISS's 1976 multi-platinum, landmark album Destroyer: Resurrected, newly remixed from the original master tapes by the album's original producer, Bob Ezrin. Ezrin pulled the tapes from the vaults and painstakingly remixed the entire album, enhancing the sound and bringing out its rich texture and vibrancy, while keeping the integrity of the original recording intact. Destroyer: Resurrected will also include rare and unreleased recordings rediscovered during the remixing process, plus the originally intended cover artwork.

Hot on the heels of their breakthrough hit album Alive!, KISS released their fourth studio album Destroyer which is considered the most ambitious studio recording of KISS's '70s catalog. Bob Ezrin, who had previously worked with Alice Cooper, was brought in to produce the album and among the production flourishes Ezrin introduced to KISS were sound effects, strings, a children's choir, reversed drumming and the eerie, echoing sounds of screaming children over Gene Simmons' vocals on "God of Thunder." Upon its release, Destroyer reached the No. 11 position on the Billboard Top 200 and, with the help of the surprise top-10 hit "Beth," was their first album to go platinum.

Originally released as the B-side to the single "Detroit Rock City," "Beth,"-the heart-yearning ballad co-written and performed by drummer Peter Criss-was quickly picked up by radio nationwide and became the first top 10 for KISS, climbing all the way to the No. 7 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. While going through the original tapes, a forgotten vocal piece that was originally edited out in the final mix of "Beth" was discovered and now, for the first time, the complete original vocal recording has been restored and is included in the final mix. Other rediscovered gems include a complete, alternate guitar solo for the track "Sweet Pain," now heard for the first time since it was originally recorded. The newly remixed "Sweet Pain" with the original guitar solo will be included as a bonus track. In addition to the treasures found buried in the hours of recordings, KISS classics such as "Detroit Rock City," "Shout It Out Loud," "Do You Love Me?" and "God of Thunder" were painstakingly remixed by Ezrin as he fleshed out the drums and guitars, bringing out the bottom end to the bass, making his mixes tight and tough.

In addition, Destroyer: Resurrected will now be issued with the originally intended cover art thought too controversial for the time. Created by artist Ken Kelly, the "brown" cover depicts KISS dressed in their ALIVE! costumes and standing on rubble in front of a burning city in ruins. At the time, the record company thought it was too violent and settled for the tamer "blue" version known today. This release also marked the first time that a comic-book illustration of the band appeared on the cover, confirming that the band was transforming from hard rockers to superheroes.

    Tunnel Blanket

Tunnel Blanket is the second long-player from the Texas four-piece This Will Destroy You and follow-up to the band's well-received eponymous 2008 debut. Tunnel Blanket delivers the epic-in-scope soundscapes that followers of its makers previous recordings are accustomed to, but presents them in new lights, where once the sun shone down bright upon immediate tropes and traits, now their work is better suited to distant starlight, casting changeable shadows across vistas of inspired, ambitious ampli cation. This is not an album to pick through in search of bold hooks and instant melodies. It is an ever-shifting, always moving work, which seems to evolve before the listener, spidery guitar lines feeling their way forth like vines scrambling up trunks in time-lapse photography.

    Another Language

Since 2004, This Will Destroy You has been forging some of the world's most brutal, dynamic, and precariously visceral instrumental rock. In addition to a vigorous tour schedule, their celebrated discography and critically renowned soundtrack work for feature films and documentaries have earned them a sizable and fervent international following. Another Language, TWDY's fourth full length LP, marks their euphonious return from a prolonged vacuous dark period that threatened to break both the band and the members themselves. Rather than be stifled by their experience TWDY were atomized and subsequently made anew, emerging with a revived energy and reinforced sense of solidarity. As a result, Another Language captures the band at its most potent, honed, and utterly powerful form yet, displaying an edified unity and graduated sense of song-writing, tonal complexity, and studio prowess.

Ramming Speed have signed to Prosthetic Records, and, surprisingly enough, crafted the follow-up to 2008s Brainwreck full-length.

Titled Doomed To Destroy, Destined To Die and tracked by Converge studio wizard Kurt Ballou, Ramming Speed's second will catapult them from cult, from-the-corner thrash act to recognized purveyors of NWOBHM/grind hybrid. If you haven't heard the Beantown beatnuts, picture DRI covering Napalm Death (early) or Repulsion doing Iron Maiden (early) interpretive runs. Playing music together for over 20 years has given the Bell brothers plenty of time to learn how to build off of one another's strengths as they write, record, and tour. During the three years Michael and Jared spent writing and recording their new album Symbolyst, they spent more time apart than they ever had. After several years of steady touring in support of two full-length releases and an ep with This Will Destroy You, the brothers found themselves on opposite sides of the globe, with Michael living in Japan and Jared studying graphic design in Brooklyn.

    Special Victim

From swirling, tumultuous outbursts to pummeling destruction, the controlled chaos that is Future Death is ready to be unleashed in 2014. Stripping everything to the bone, the band's creative process is heavily linked to impulse as they capture their feelings organically and in the moment while leaving little room for conceptualization. The Austin-based band formed in 2012 as Alton Jenkins and Bill Kenny began writing and recording what later evolved into their debut EP, which was self-released in the summer of 2013. They added bassist Jeremy Humphries to the lineup and vocalist Angie Kang found them later after months of writing. Special Victim, their forthcoming debut full-length on Bloodmoss Records, was recorded and mixed by This Will Destroy You's Alex Bhore in a funeral-home-turned-studio owned by producer John Congleton. With the creative tools at hand, Future Death took a bright, explosive approach on Special Victim. Like the band's overall creative process, the concept of impulse is apparent throughout album itself. There's not much time to breathe, and that's exactly why it is such a thrilling and powerful listen.

Written and recorded in ChambÉry, France, in the heart of the Alps

The Morning is a short, precise, and undeniably groovy love

    With Love

Prize Country click together perfectly. For the last 3 years it's if the only time they're not on tour is to write songs and record them. Having dished out a full length, a few EPs, and a bunch of splits they took some time to hone the songs that would comprise With Love, their second full length and debut for Hex Records. These four road dogs create music that is rooted in early 90's post-hardcore dynamics of sound, texture, and a good deal of heaviness that brings to mind Quicksand, Drive Like Jehu, Fugazi, as well as later-era Snapcase and then cranks the volume to obscene levels so as to destroy audiences right after they knock their socks off with their energy and musicianship. Prize Country will be tour throughout the Fall, covering these United States before embarking on a European tour in the Winter. After that, who knows? More than likely either back on the road or writing more songs in their never-ending quest for the perfect riff.

    Party Of One

Rounder Records announces the first-ever solo album release from legendary guitarist/vocalist George Thorogood, titled PARTY OF ONE. The album will feature 14 cuts of traditional blues, classics, and modern blues songs, from John Lee Hooker's One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer to Hank Williams' Pictures From Life's Other Side, and The Rolling Stones' No Expectations.

PARTY OF ONE was produced by Grammy-winner Jim Gaines (John Lee Hooker, Luther Allison, and Stevie Ray Vaughan), who reunites with Thorogood on the debut solo project, having produced several of Thorogood's biggest albums to date (RIDE 'TIL I DIE, THE HARD STUFF, THE DIRTY DOZEN). The album's primarily acoustic instrumentation - including slide, Dobro, and harmonica - is performed entirely by Thorogood, raw and stripped down, with an intimate one-on-one feel.

Says Thorogood: I think this is a project that's long overdue. Maybe it should have been the very first album I ever made. After playing with the band for all these years, I had to kind of reverse my hands and my head in order to do this thing justice. Thorogood continues, But I think Destroyers fans - and hardcore blues fans, too - are ready for the unexpected. My whole career, I've always said, 'Just give them what you are, and they're either going to dig it or not.' This record is what I was, what I am, and what I always will be.

PARTY OF ONE is Thorogood's return to Rounder Records, the roots label with which he first signed in 1976 to record the three hit albums that launched his recording career, beginning with his debut, GEORGE THOROGOOD AND THE DESTROYERS. Says Rounder co-founder Ken Irwin: George's coming back is a nice completing of the circle. This record shows his talent as a storyteller in a very different setting, with all the emotion in his guitar and vocals. It's a really intimate record, but it's unmistakably a George Thorogood record, too.

Co-founder Marian Levy adds, You'd think it would be almost impossible to recapture, but there's immediacy to this record that harks back to the radicalism of the early Destroyers. In many ways, I think this record is a summation of George's career.

Rounder Records Vice President of A&R Scott Billington, also the album's executive producer, says: This wasn't an easy record for George to make. He had to viscerally reconnect with a time in his life when he was discovering who he was. But as you listen to these songs, you realize that he is, and always has been, an authentic blues player. This album is George Thorogood claiming his legacy.

Over the course of the last four decades, George Thorogood, with his longtime legendary band, The Destroyers, has sold more than 15 million albums, released 16 studio albums - including six gold and two platinum discs - and performed more than 8,000 live shows. George Thorogood and the Destroyers' catalog of hits include: Who Do You Love?, I Drink Alone, One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer, Move It On Over, Get A Haircut, and the anthemic Bad To The Bone.

    Arisen New Era (Awaiting Repress)

    Blue And White Colored Vinyl

Unique Leader Records confirms that French death metal legion, KRONOS, will drop their Arisen New Era long player upon the masses. Recorded, mixed and mastered by David Potvin at Dome Studios (Lyzanxia, Arcania, Under The Abyss etc.) in Angers, France, the band's latest slab of audio menace features nine scalding tracks of unrelenting barbarity adorned in the distinctive cover art of Pierre Alain (Withering Soul, Silentlie, Cyrax etc.).

A name derived from the Greek god of time, Kronos (or Cronus), father of Zeus, KRONOSwas forged over fifteen years ago and quickly established a name for themselves based solely on their musical unity of harmony and violence. Featuring a continuous textual reference to the gods of ancient civilizations, KRONOS punctures ears with a heightened level of dynamics accomplished by only by a select number of bands. It all began in a small town in the Northeastern province of Alsace-Lorraine. Following various lineup shifts and musical experimentation, the pandemonium squad recorded their first demo in 2000. One year later, KRONOS would unleash their Titan's Awakening debut. Produced entirely by the band, the lethal creation lead to a union with French imprint Warpath Records. By the end of 2001, Titan's Awakening was expelled once again into the world, this time with a brand new cover designed by Deather (Gurkkhas, Vital Remains, Angel Corpse) as well as a visually disquieting booklet.

KRONOS later joined forces with Spanish label Xtreem Music run by Avulsed's Dave Rotten, for the unleashing of their next two full-lengths. Second offering, Colossal Titan Strife was discharged in 2004 to the applause of underground critics in the proverbial know. Metal Crypt commended the band's "diversified guitar work intricate drum patterns wicked guitar solos and.. good number of catchy yet non-compromising hooks," further insisting, "This French outfit is definitely worth checking out," while Sputnik Music championed, "an impressive album that shows off the capabilities of death metal done right. KRONOSmanaged to pack a metric ton of creativity into each song and you will barely hear the same riff twice." Added Last Rites simply, "worth your time if you need some solid, well-produced death metal." Third offspring, The Hellenic Terror, emerged in April 2007 and served as an attestation of the band's enormous capacity for skilled execution and originality. Said Metal Crypt in a near perfect review of the release, "The Hellenic Terrorcontains more melodic sections than Colossal Titan Strife, but still possesses almost as much brutality . KRONOS is one of the few death metal bands that manage to be melodic, brutal and still remain catchy as hell in their riffs and solos. This is definitely a must-have for fans of death metal."

Now that this Gallic Titan has blossomed into a powerful entity, they're ready to vanquish and destroy the world with musical bloodlust and the diabolic wares of Arisen New Era.

The Parallax II: The Further Sequence (Awaiting Repress)

Double gatefold marbled 2LP pressing with 2 x 4-color inserts from Metal Blade Records.

Between the Buried and Me have not made a name for themselves through playing it safe. Pushing the envelope of heavy music with each successive release, they have continually evolved in thrilling new directions while maintaining the honesty and integrity that has connected with so many listeners. With The Parallax II: Future Sequence, the first concept album of their career, the North Carolina based unit have delivered their most complex, ambitious, and accomplished work to date. "We're certainly not the average metal band, we write what we want to write, and we've never really tried to fit in anywhere," states guitarist Paul Waggoner. "With this record we held nothing back. We were excited to experiment and see where it took us, and working with a concept was a really interesting new challenge."

The concept was first introduced to the band's fans with 2011's The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues EP, which established the narrative's two characters, Prospect I and Prospect II, the story commencing with the events of Parallax II. Separated by millions of light years, the two men exist in ignorance of the other yet are intrinsically connected by a shared soul, which ultimately brings them together. "Both men exist in isolation, one because he runs away from the life that is his and the other when he leaves his dying planet in the hope of creating new life elsewhere, through the planting of souls," explains vocalist Tommy Rogers.

"As the story progresses you realize they are actually the same person, and at the end of the journey they're responsible for destroying all life as they know it, reinforcing the idea that humanity is a destructive species, and that there's some kind of innate flaw about us that causes us to destroy everything we touch." While the story is very much based in fiction and grounded in the imagination of Rogers, it was important that the vocalist was able to emotionally connect with it, and relate it to his own life, thereby making it relatable for listeners. "That was probably the hardest thing for me, making sure I could find that connection. The main thing that these characters go through is confusion and isolation, and I think that's something every person deals with in their lives at some point. As a musician you spend a lot of time with your own thoughts, so despite the science fiction of it all it is still a very personal record."

Produced by the band, which is rounded out by guitarist Dustie Waring, bassist Dan Briggs, and drummer Blake Richardson, alongside longtime collaborator Jamie King, the recording process was smooth, though labor intensive, if for no other reason than the sheer amount of material that had to be tracked. Stepping back from it, the band are proud of everything they have achieved. "This whole process was a lot of work, and it's definitely the most rewarding piece of music we've ever written," states Rogers. "It's a very coherent record, and I think nowadays records are getting thrown out there without much thought put into them. I like that what we've done is kind of bring back the whole album feel, which was really important once but doesn't seem to be any more." With plans to play Parallax II in its entirety on forthcoming tours, the band hope this album introduces new fans to their music, yet they maintain the humble aspirations that have always driven them.

"I'm a firm believer that if you create something that's unique and different there's always going to be a niche market for that. Our mentality is to keep doing what we're doing, writing music that challenges both us and the listener, and to keep playing to everyone who wants to see us," Waggoner states. Rogers concurs with this, adding "I think what we do speaks loudly to people. We're a very genuine band, we do what we want because we love doing it, and I think that's what people want. They want honesty in their music, and they want music that comes from the heart rather than comes from a computer, or that is made by people motivated by making money. We're just going to keep writing the best songs we can and with that continue to grow, and hopefully through doing that more and more people will find us.

Top Ten Hits Of The End Of The World

It's 2012, and Prince Rama has made the Top Ten Hits of the End of the World. Conceived as a pseudo-compilation album, the Brooklyn duo invented ten different pop bands that died during the apocalypse, channeling the ghosts of each one to perform the various songs. Spanning genres and stylistic eras from across the globe, Top Ten Hits explores pop music's relationship to memory, nostalgia, and the spirit world.

Incorporating influences as disparate as cosmic disco, motorcycle rock, new-wave, grunge, tribal goth, Arabic pop, and ghost-modern glam, Prince Rama filters each sound through the destroyed lens of a post-apocalyptic future looking back at the wonders of its sonic past. Tracking began with Tim Koh in Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's studio and was then completed and mixed with producer Scott Colburn (Animal Collective, Sun City Girls, Arcade Fire) at Gravelvoice in Seattle.

Top Ten Hits of the End of the World isn't just a pop album, it's a retrospective requiem of all pop albums ever made. Nothing like this has ever been attempted by a single band, and its residual echoes will continue to haunt this world and the next. LP comes with digital download card.

Earth To Echo Soundtrack (Colored Vinyl)

Limited Pressing On Transparent Blue Colored Vinyl, Black Vinyl Pressing Thereafter

Earth To Echo is a heartwarming 2014 summer family adventure movie, telling the story of a bunch of young teenage friends whose lives are about to change. Their neighborhood is being destroyed by a highway construction project that is forcing their families to move away. But just two days before they must part ways, the boys begin receiving a strange series of signals on their phones.

Convinced something bigger is going on, they team set out to look for the source of their phone signals. What they discover is something beyond their wildest imaginations: a small alien who has become stranded on Earth. In need of their help, the four friends come together to protect the alien and help him find his way home. This journey, full of wonder and adventure, is their story, and their secret.

Echo is one of the most adorable characters you're going to see this year, with oodles of personality. The film has been shot in 'found footage' visual photography. From phones (which act as the robots eyes) to camcorders, all are utilised here with magnificent effect. The movie's young cast (Teo Halm, Astro and Resse Hartwig) are superb and with a solid chemistry between them and incredibly likeable personas, they will keep audiences stuck to their chairs.

A Meeting By The River (200 Gram Vinyl)

1994 Grammy Winner For Best World Music Album

Included In Tom Moon's 2008 Book 1,000 Recordings To Hear Before You Die

The sound is about as good as it gets, with almost no sense of recording gear between the listener and musicians, who are laid out in a solid horizontal line. The remarkable air and tangible 'thereness' will take your breath away. - Wayne Garcia, The Absolute Sound, August 2008

As spontaneous as music-making gets, this East meets West improv session between two masters of slide-based stringed instruments is like eating at the most exotic Indian restaurant that adds Tex-Mex flavors to its dishes. The sound is very natural, almost achingly beautiful. - Playback, June 2008

This record is a must-have for fans of Ry Cooder's explorations into global sounds. The playing is out of this world, and, on these cuts, it has less of a world music feel, and is almost bluesy at times. With the original sessions captured at 15 i.p.s. on all custom deParavicini gear, this is the ultimate stereo test record. The sound is as real, open and airy as it gets; not one more molecule of tone could possibly be put onto these black discs! - Jeff Dorgay, Tone Audio, No. 15, 2008

Passionate, mysterious, intricate, earthy, ethereal, moody and mystical, the rich musical improvisations on this recording defy categorization The recording is as astonishing as the music: a harmonically complex, three-dimensional, two-microphone purist production that will easily take its place at the top of the sonic heap in your record collection and that's a guarantee this is among the most spacious, convincing three-dimensional recordings you will ever hear An essential record in any 21st-century vinyl collection. Music = 11/11; Sound = 11/11 - Michael Fremer, Music Angle, www.musicangle.com

The quintessential 2 mic Blumlein recording, a musical extravaganza - on 45rpm it destroys the early '90s CD! - Danny Kaey, Positive-Feedback Online

Astonishingly, the four conversational yet adventurous tracks captured on A Meeting by the River were unrehearsed jams between the two masters, who had met only minutes before the session. The lesson is that Cooder and Bhatt not only knew how to play but how to listen. - Daniel Durchholz, Stereophile, February 2007

American composer, musicologist and guitar legend Ry Cooder teams with North Indian musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt to create an exquisite musical realm, with both musicians playing exceptional slide guitar. Their collaboration evokes musical elements from many cultures and styles. Percussion by Sukhvindar Singh on tabla and Cooder's 14-year-old son Joachim on dumbek. This recording won a Grammy Award in 1994 for Best World Album.

    Up In Arms (Awaiting Repress)

We work hard, and we have a lot to say. Look around the planet - people are fed up with the corrupt ruling class. They destroy the planet and kill millions for profit, and the formula for our response is simple: Anger + applied knowledge = results. Don't just bitch. Change it.

    - JOHN JOSEPH

At its purest, there is little that can match the visceral thrill and empowering spirit of hardcore. As frontman of New York City hardcore kings Cro-Mags, this is something John Joseph knows very well, and with Up In Arms, he and his Bloodclot compatriots deliver a furious collection that hits hard on every level. "In this band we're doing what each of us have always done: give it our all," he states plainly.

The results reflect the roots and passions of the individual members. Danzig/Murphy's Law guitarist Todd Youth was the first piece of the puzzle. "We've always talked about doing this record together, Todd had songs written and I had notebooks full of lyrics. In late September 2015, I went out to LA to do a triathlon and injured my calf muscle, so I couldn't race, and Todd said he could get some studio time. So, we went in and cut the demo. While there are things we may perceive as a negative in our lives, in fact the universe has a bigger plan, and that experience ultimately resulted in the record." Having been friends with Queens Of The Stone Age and Danzig powerhouse drummer Joey Castillo for three decades, the two musicians had long admired each other's work, and their collaboration has been a long time coming. Following Castillo's suggestion of bringing in Nick Oliveri (Queens Of The Stone Age/The Dwarves) to handle bass duties, the lineup was complete. The songs that comprise Up In Arms manifested after the quartet plugged in and let the music speak for them. "We didn't decide to try to play anything, these are the songs that happened when we started jamming, and I love this band because there are no egos involved. Our goal is to make the best music possible, period. I love it when those guys contribute with melodies, etc., and I've even helped with some of the arrangements. Because we all think alike, our lyrics deal with the issues of the day, and that makes for better songs."

Every track on Up In Arms lives up to the rallying cry of the album's title - the bursts of high energy hardcore act as the perfect accompaniment to Joseph setting his sights on injustice and the seemingly endless flaws of the contemporary world. The breakneck thrashing of "Slow Kill Genocide" is an anthem for everyone sickened by those responsible for "killing the planet and all its inhabitants through industry and war. They're fucking maniacs and must be stopped." The suitably titled "Manic" attacks with bared fangs, Joseph making it clear that you can only push someone so far before they will react with violence - a call to arms for the disenfranchised who want tomorrow's world to be better than today's. Tracked at NRG in Los Angeles, the raw, old-school production that leaps out from the speaker comes courtesy of producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Revocation), and the record was mixed by Kyle McAulay at NRG. From the moment the opening title track explodes to life, it's clear that everyone involved is having a blast and playing from the heart, and that this is no frills / no bullshit music at its most passionate - every song evoking mental images of utter chaos in a heaving mosh pit.

For anyone approaching the album for the first time, Joseph has only this to say: "Turn the volume way the fuck up!" And with plans to tour everywhere, Bloodclot will be getting in a lot of faces in 2017 and beyond. "We are already writing material and the next album is in the works. But, for now, all we want is to hit the stage to support 'Up in Arms', and every single night leave every ounce of ourselves up there."

    BLOODCLOT is:

    John Joseph (Cro-Mags) - Vocals
    Todd Youth (ex-Murphy's Law, ex-Danzig) - Guitars

    Shadowed By Vultures

Polar have been teasing us for 'Shadowed By Vultures' since the release of 'Glass Cutter' in October and 'Mountain Throne' earlier this week and it still isn't enough. This early on it is clear that 'Shadowed By Vultures' is one of the best things to come from 2014 already, Polar are always reliable for epic pit inducing, crowd chanting tracks but this full length has taken it to the next level. Polar have matured and developed bringing depth, musicianship and ingenuity to create a inspirational and remarkable album that will form an iconic place in their discography.

'Shadowed By Vultures' opens with 'First Breath' which immerses the listener in, calling them out with a dominating and prevalent riff heaving them to the forefront of the album. In 52 seconds we have already had all our attention drawn out by a tyrannical Polar calling card that preludes what is unleashed throughout the entire album. And they continue to dominate our ears with 'Blood Lines' pulling Woodford's vocals forward in an anthemic chorus, his vocals are one of Polar's unique points that through every rasp, growl and shout there is nothing but clarity, you can hear every word and shout it back.

First single 'Glass Cutter' premiered on Radio 1 in October and still stands out as one of the most influential tracks from 'Shadowed By Vultures'. The track ignites crowds and echoes out venues with 'I am the water that fills your lungs' and spurs images of people climbing over each other in frantic Polar induced fits. However, 'Before The Storm' then brings the full length to a hauntingly unexpected halt, the female vocals juxtaposing Woodford's rawr into an eloquent and fragile track that delves deeper into anything we could have expected. A longing, fervent track that commands notice among the destructive album as we go into the second single 'Mountain Throne'.

Within days of the video being posted fans have begged for the lyrics so they can sing them back. As guitars rise up and haul us through every breaking breath of the track you can see why 'Mountain Throne' has swept up fans all over the internet sitting behind their screens desperate to shout 'We are, we are condemned to be criminals!'. And Polar do not cease there as they rip into the neck breaking 'Vipers' which finds itself as another example of Polar's outstanding song writing before title track 'Shadowed By Vultures' that never relents. The track falls on intricate, resilient and winding riffs that form around unrelenting percussion. As instruments rile up in pauses into incessant uproars before piano keys fall in and we seamlessly find ourselves in 'Paradise' . The articulate and delicate track forms the most beautiful breather in such a hefty album allowing a moment of recollection before 'Create'.

If you didn't know 'Create' from their previous EP 'Inspire Create Destroy' then you don't know what Polar excellence you have been missing. Although they have clearly developed from their previous work 'Create' still commands every second of savage attention it deserves. If Polar don't have you chanting 'Inspire! Create! Destroy!' by the end of their set, you are definitely in the wrong place, or they have already broken you. As the album closes on 'Our Legacy' Polar unleash a rasping raw space before strings wind us into a frenzy that leaves us desperate to play the album again. Twangs and stomps winding down a diverse and prodigious album that will be splitting our headphones for years to come.

    Calendar Girl

    Import

Jazz critic Will Friedwald has stated that Julie London's records were so popular in the 1950s mainly because she looked so drop-dead gorgeous on the album covers. The marketing hook behind Calendar Girl may just be the main example for those critical of London's musical career, since its sleeve has made it a prized collector's item. The famous wraparound cover depicts cheesecake shots of London posed for every month of the year, while original issues of the album included a more-than-suggestive insert photo of the singer stretched out in bed. While Friedwald's correct about London's physical beauty, he's wrong in suggesting that the vocalist didn't have the talent to go along with her looks. Like Chet Baker, Julie London had an extremely limited vocal range but she did the most with what she had, possessing a special knack for torch songs that cast her in the role of a woman constantly being destroyed by love in general and by men in particular. The cover concept of Calendar Girl is carried over from the concept album, which features a narrative of romance lost and found for each month of the year before ending with one final tune called The Thirteenth Month (which is illustrated by that insert picture of London in bed). Since there aren't quality standards for every month of the year, one of Calendar Girl's pleasures can be found in the numbers written especially for the album, particularly those penned by Bobby Troup, London's husband. The jazz-oriented Troup hit pay dirt with such fine compositions as Route 66, Daddy, and The Meaning of the Blues, but too few of his smart, witty songs have been widely recorded. Calendar Girl is a fun, if often bittersweet, ride and a must-have for fans of classic vocal pop and lounge music.

    180g Audiophile Vinyl Reissue

Remastered To High Definition 192kHz/24-bit Audio For Maximum Fidelity

Celebrating four decades of decibels, KISS, Mercury Records and UMe proudly announce reissuing the legendary KISS albums on 180g audiophile vinyl. Remastered to high definition 192kHz/24-bit audio for maximum fidelity, these albums have never sounded so amazing and now
vinyl collectors will get what they've been demanding. All posters, sleeve art, stickers, etc that appeared in the original LP release where applicable have
been faithfully reproduced for the KISS Army.

With the massive success of their previous album, the experimental Bob Ezrin-produced Destroyer (which contained the surprise ballad hit Beth), Kiss could have taken the safe route and continued in that direction -- or return to the raw hard rock of their first four albums. They chose the latter. Hooking back up with Eddie Kramer, the producer of their 1975 breakthrough release Alive! and their very first demo, Kiss rented out the Nanuet Star Theater in upstate New York to record their next album, Rock and Roll Over. With a more direct, in-your-face production, Rock and Roll Over is one of Kiss' most consistent records. Two of the album's best tracks became hit singles -- the sleazy hard rocker Calling Dr. Love and an acoustic ballad that was originally intended for Rod Stewart, Hard Luck Woman (later covered by country star Garth Brooks). But like all other classic rock albums, the lesser-known material is often just as strong -- I Want You and Makin' Love became concert staples over the years, while Mr. Speed is one of the most underrated songs in Kiss' catalogue. Also included are the fan favorites Take Me, Ladies Room, Love 'Em and Leave 'Em, and the original version of See You in Your Dreams, which was later re-recorded for Gene Simmons' 1978 solo album.
