    Please Come Home (Pink Vinyl)

    Pressed On Pink Colored Vinyl

It's a rare singer/songwriter that can credibly display dual sides of his musical personality - one who can quite thoroughly and convincingly operate in opposite realms of popular music.

With Please come Home, Dustin Kensrue joins those elite musical ranks. Indeed, with this batch of soul searching acoustic songs, which range from the dark, philosophical and introspective to the tender,k Kensrue in more likely to snare listeners more in tune with the work of Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello and Ryan Adams. Combining classic folk with earthy blues, melodic country and deep soul, Kensrue creates a unique aural landscape complementing his music versatility. 'A lot of the material is a little more down to earth, which is one of things that I tried to do with these songs,' says Kensrue. 'I get a little heady with the Thrice songs. And I like doing that - I think people like engaging in that but I wanted these to be more folky, in the sense that this is music coming from a natural place.'

To Be Everywhere Is To Be Nowhere

Thrice has been a staple in the alternative/modern-rock world for over fifteen years. A band known for effortlessly and continuously releasing groundbreaking records, their discography has sold over a 1.5 million copies, and they've toured the world with acts like The Deftones, Coheed & Cambria, Rise Against, Circa Survive and Brand New.

Thrice released their first proper full-length, Identity Crisis, in 2001 and quickly stormed to the forefront of the indie music scene as listeners rejoiced and formed what can only be described as a cult following. The band went on to release seven highly praised albums - fan favorites The Illusion Of Safety (2002), The Artist In The Ambulance (2003) and Vheissu (2005), the brilliant and eclectic four-part concept album The Alchemy Index: Fire and Water (2007) and Earth and Air (2008), the visceral and raw masterpiece, Beggars (2009), and a grunge-inspired follow-up album, Major/Minor (2011). After a three-year break from writing and touring, the Southern California quartet are back with their first studio album in almost five years.

    Carry The Fire

Singer, songwriter and guitarist DUSTIN KENSRUE will release his new album, CARRY THE FIRE. The new album is the long anticipated follow-up to his 2007 solo debut, Please Come Home. "Back to Back" is a tuneful, infectious song, a folk framework with a rock backbone. It's far from the heaviness of a Thrice song, but it once again proves there are two distinct sides to Kensrue's writing." Kensrue, known for his dynamic solo performances and as frontman for Southern California rock band Thrice, engineered and produced the record on his own while mixing duties were handled by Brian Eichelberger and the album was mastered by Howie Weinberg.

    Year Of The Snake

Los Angeles' SILVER SNAKES are back with their second full length, "Year of the Snake," the follow-up to their 2011 critically acclaimed debut, "Pictures
of a Floating World." "Year of the Snake," which was named one of Alternative Press' "Most Anticipated Albums of 2013," sees the band's vocalist,
guitarist and principle songwriter, Alex Estrada, whose "day job" is recording bands including Nails, TouchÉ Amore and Joyce Manor, stepping behind the
board to produce his own band. Roger Camaro, of No Motive, who co-produced "Pictures," worked with Estrada recording drums and basic tracks for the
record. After the recording process in LA, the tracks were sent to Salad Days Studios, in Baltimore, to be mixed by Brian McTernan, whose resume'
includes acts influential to SILVER SNAKES, such as, Cave In, Engine Down, Thrice, and Circa Survive. The resulting eleven songs see SILVER
SNAKES going in a darker direction than they had visited on "Pictures," and finds their dynamic range expanding; the band has grown louder and more
dissonant on tracks like "No Color," while getting quieter and more desolate on tracks like "Lock."

    Disillusion

O'Brother return with their sophomore studio album Disillusion, The band ventured out of their hometown of Atlanta, GA to the bitter cold of Long Island this past winter to hole up in the studio with engineer/producer Mike Sapone (Brand New, Public Enemy, Daytrader). The result is a heavier, refined follow-up to the band's critically acclaimed 2012 debut Garden Window which the Wall Street Journal's Jim Fusilli described as, " a brutalizing blend of
industrial rock, alt-metal and metal featuring a three-guitar attack ." In addition the album
had both Guitar World and Decibel comparing them to Radiohead and the Melvins and Consequence of Sound threw in Queens of the Stone Age and Tool comparisons, summing things up with " Garden Window feels really fucking loud, and does this really fucking well ."

After wrapping things in the studio, the band hit the road this spring with the legendary Alice In Chains for a stint of support dates and along the way, appeared at a number of festivals including
Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma. In the past three years, they have been on countless national tours, sharing the stage with Manchester Orchestra, The Dear Hunter, Cage the Elephant, Alice In Chains, Thrice, Caspian, and Circa Survive along with a handful of headlining tours. O'Brother is extremely excited to continue on the festival tip by making their first ever appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago this August just weeks before Disillusion is set to drop.

    New Masses For Squaw Peak

New Masses for Squaw Peak gifts unto us bold, surprising new textures and denser, cheekier ideas and themes. Its packed tight with style: gauze-flange experimentation; jazz-chord death-pop; shifty proto-prog; historical and personal mythologies weaved through its passages. Yet, claustrophobic it is not. New Masses for Squaw Peak is as wide-open of a landscape as its title may suggest. It is also a well-traveled collection of songs: laid to tape in the belly of an abandon Philadelphia textile factory; run through three mixing boards by three separate sets of hands; and ultimately sculpted into its final form by the gentlemen to conjured it in the first place. And oh joy, what conjuring.

Mystics Pharaohs (Masc. Pharaohs) begins with a big, fat wink to Enos Here Come the Warm Jets (a hallmark of Squaw Peak) before descending into its own purply blackhole of dark, dissonant whitefunk. A metallic sonic fog allows guitar stabs and squalls, and the pings of ringleader Nathan Pembertons vocal calls, to hit you twice then thrice, then unravel out into the cosmos. All players here (multi-instrumentalists Josh Martin and Brian Forfa; and drummer John Frank) are using both sides of the brain at every turn, the instinctual, tribal rhythm with which we are born and the semi-learned, nervy way we manipulate that instinct. The instinct that tells us to stay and play inside our comfort zone, and the secret instinct to see what lies just beyond its boundary. Cor-Du-Roi, another standout, is almost perpendicular to Mystics Pharoahs with its shambling, assured pace and melodies all tinny and distant. Its a risky number for Holiday Shores in its maturity and subtle composition. It also just might be their most inspired, beautiful piece to date. We find this kind of maturity and patience again with deep-cut Coming to Shores, an ambient-pop sci-fi wash that almost falls into the new classical phylum.

Pemberton and Martin prove time and again that they share more than just a keyboard table in the live setting; they share an endlessly searching, creative brain. Pembertons jazz keyboards are often interlocked with Martins plinkety-plankety lyrical guitar. On Shadie Spun Gold and in other spots, like pulsing leadoff track Airglow their separately played parts are hocketed to create the larger melody, with notes falling just left of where Steely Dan might drop them (which sounds awesome). Holiday Shores might be prog-rock in the way that Ariel Pink might be prog-rock. Its shape-shifting pop songcraft that will slip from your fingers like a sea cucumber the very second you think you have hold.
