Features The Academy Award Winning Song My Heart Will Go On By Celine Dion
Titanic is a 1997 American epic romance-disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.
Upon its release on December 19, 1997, Titanic achieved critical and commercial success. Nominated for fourteen Academy Awards, it tied with All About Eve (1950) for the most Oscar nominations. It won eleven, including the awards for Best Picture and Best Director, tying Ben Hur (1959) for the most Oscars won by a single film.
Titanic: Music from the Motion Picture was composed, orchestrated and conducted by James Horner (Avatar, The Amazing Spider-Man, Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven). CÉline Dion, who was no stranger to movie songs in the 90s, sang My Heart Will Go On, the film's signature song written by James Horner and Will Jennings. The song became a worldwide smash hit, going to the top of the music charts around the world.
This special 20th anniversary edition of Titanic is pressed on transparent vinyl and strictly limited to 2,500 individually numbered copies worldwide.

Music Composed By James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, The Magnificent Seven)
First Time On Vinyl
For Avatar, James Cameron (Titanic, Aliens, The Terminator)hired long-time collaborator, James Horner, to provide the musical character for his sci-fi fantasy film.
The music had to match the images with its own power to transport us to a world of powerful emotions. It had to reach deep into your hearts, to allow us not only to see but to feel. The music is our key to the emotional understanding of this film.
James Horner knew when he took on the scoring of Avatar that it would be the challenge of a lifetime. The music is classic in its orchestral power but also connects us to the soul of the Na'vi through the use of indigenous rhythms and vocals.
During the theatrical run, the film broke several box office records and became the highest-grossing film of all time, surpassing Titanic (also directed by James Cameron), which had held those records for twelve years. Avatar was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, and won three, for Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.
This 2xLP album is packed in a gatefold sleeve with a 6-page insert and the first 5,000 copies are individually numbered and pressed on limited blue colored vinyl.

Yellow SubmarineSourced From the Original Master Tapes
Pressed on 180 gram vinyl
Cut at Abbey Road Studios
The soundtrack to The Beatles' animated film of the same name, Yellow Submarine presents four new Beatles tracks recorded between 1967 and early 1968. In addition, George Martin's score for the film rounds out the effort. While not considered a "proper" album, Yellow Submarine contains many memorable moments-George Harrison's psychedelic "Only a Northern Song," peppered with organ and candid sentiments, and "It's All Too Much," carried on the shoulders of a mesmerizing Mellotron, gigantic percussion, and titanic guitar feedback.
A team consisting of some of the best producers and engineers in the recording industry were brought together and would spend 4 long years mixing and mastering with some of the most state of the art recording equipment. Treating these records much like a science experiment, engineers ran extensive tests before copying the analog master tapes over into a digital format using 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and carefully removing clicks, vocal pops and poor edits. Titan: It's All Pop!From 1978-1981 the Titan label issued only eight records, but over the years their tiny catalog has crawled to the top of power-pop want lists worldwide and appeared on scads of bootleg cassettes, building a legacy to rival L.A.s Bomp or New Yorks Ork. Located in fly-over country, Titan was forced to start their own scene, import their own skinny ties, and scour Missouri for their own talent.
Their midwest AM bubblegum roots are apparent in the likes of Gary Charlson, the Secrets*, Arlis!, Gems, Millionaire At Midnight, the Boys, J.P. McClain & the Intruders, Bobby Sky, and Scott McCarl, but Titan was clearly influenced by the glam-punk spit being hocked from the 100 Club stage.

The Amazing Spider-Man SoundtrackOne of the big names in modern film music, James Horner, wrote the score having more than 100 to his credit. He is best know as the composer of the orchestral film soundtrack, Titanic, in 1997. He is the winner of two Academy Awards and two Golden Globes (in both cases Best Original Score for Titanic and Best Original Song for My Heart Will Go On in the same film), and gained eight further Academy Award nominations. His best-known work includes the soundtracks of such classics as Aliens (1986), Braveheart (1995), A Beautiful Mind (2001) and Avatar (2009). Horner's music underlines both the exciting action of the film and its personal, touching, romantic moments. Seeking a composer who could express both grandeur and intimacy, movie director Marc Webb felt that Horner was a genius at exactly that. I wanted to create a score that felt massive and huge but also intimate and small. (Webb).1. Main Title - Young Peter

ln Summer 2014, the world's most revered monster is reborn when the epic action adventure Godzilla is released. From visionary new director Gareth Edwards (Monsters) comes a powerful story of human courage and reconciliation in the face of titanic forces of nature, when the awe-inspiring Godzilla rises to restore balance as humanity stands defenceless.
Film composer Alexandre Desplat was hired to compose an original soundtrack for Godzilla. Desplat had not composed previously for a monster film, having worked on movies such as The King's Speech, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and the final two Harry Potter films. Desplat accepted the contract after being impressed with Edwards' Monsters. Desplat describes the soundtrack for Godzilla as non-stop fortissimo, with lots of brass, Japanese drums, and electric violin. The score is also conducted by Desplat.LP1

The Survivors' SuiteThe Survivors' Suite, recorded in 1976, is the crowning achievement of Keith Jarrett's "American Quartet" with Dewey Redman, Charlie Haden and Paul Motian, and one of the all-time enduring masterpieces in the ECM catalogue. Melody Maker: "The Survivors' Suite is a brilliantly organized and full-blooded work which provides the perfect setting for all four talents. This is a very complete record. It creates its own universe and explores it thoroughly, leaving the listener awed and satisfied... An unashamedly ardent album, Jarrett's very finest." The Wire: "The labyrinthine composition seems to redefine 'intensity' each time it turns a corner. The drive toward the climax of Side Two is among the most moving in modern music, Dewey Redman absolutely titanic over the surging rhythms."

McCartney IIMastered from the Original Tapes at Abbey Road by Guy Massey and Co.: Same Team Responsible for Superb Beatles Reissues
Audiophile-Grade Gatefold-Packaged 180g 2LP Set Includes Rare and Previously Unreleased Tracks, Plus Download of Entire Record
Macca's 1980 Adventurous, Synth-Dominant Studio Set His First Post-Wings Solo Effort
McCartney Personally Supervised the Reissue: McCartney Also Available on 180g 2LP
Originally released in 1980 and the first album he released after disbanding Wings, McCartney II echoed back to Paul McCartney's titanic 1970 solo debut in that the former Beatle took a singular, do-it-yourself approach to its composition and creation. Eager to expand from the pop he'd been plying with Wings, the legendary singer-songwriter obsesses over synthesizer potential throughout the record's 11 tracks, all of which opt for a more electronic feel and experimental ambience.
Reaching #1 in the UK, and #3 in the U.S., McCartney II yielded myriad enduring classics such as Coming Up, Waterfalls, and Temporary Secretary. And as he did in 1970, McCartney calls on then-wife Linda McCartney to supply background vocals but handles everything else on his own. Clearly playing with something to prove, the boundless musician employs cutting-edge synthesizers to craft memorable arrangements and soundscapes, while his inimitable vocals provide unforgettable timbres and complimentary tones.
Part of the icon's ongoing Archive Collection, McCartney II has been remastered at Abbey Road from the original master tapes by the same engineering team responsible for the internationally acclaimed Beatles reissues. We assure you that this 1980 landmark has never sounded better, and the gatefold packaging looks stunning. In addition, McCartney has unlocked the vault and supplied rare and previously unreleased tracks to add to the album's overall enjoyment and context. Not surprisingly, Macca himself oversaw the entire reissue.
Pop fans and music connoisseurs, this is what is deemed essential. Grab McCartney II and its natural bookend McCartney on audiophile vinyl and immerse yourself in the sounds of the artist who's the most successful musician and composer in history.LP 1

Stravinsky - Sacre du Printemps (Speakers Corner)
To be sure: no other 20th-century ballet music has ever created such a commotion as this ancient rite of spring: it began with a turmoil which developed into a full-scale brawl at the premiere performance in the concert hall, was sung hymns of praise and suffered devastating reviews by critics who tore the work apart, and led up to the musico-philosophical libel written in the Fifties by that self-acclaimed "chief enemy" of Stravinsky, W. A. Adorno.
This thrilling, epoch-making masterpiece remains fascinating to this very day thanks to its bloodcurdling rhythms, its secretive, intertwined melodies, and the boiling, seething, and lashing of the titanic instrumental forces. And Sir Georg Solti and his phenomenal orchestra certainly ensure that all this is brought over to the listener. The notes of the lyrical passages simply fly out of the loudspeakers with the lightness and airyness to which one is accustomed with DECCA recordings from this era. But one can still be astounded by this audiophile work of art: such a gentle, voluminous, lashing and pounding sound-storm is only normally heard live in the concert hall. And precisely because this recording sounds so marvellous, it tops the vinyl charts in the American specialist magazine The Absolute Sound.
- The Chicago Symphony Orchestra
- Sir Georg Solti (conductor)
Recording: May 1974 at Medinah Temple, Chicago (USA) by Kenneth Wilkinson and James Lock
Production: Ray Minshull
About Speakers Corner
At the beginning of the 90s, in the early days of audiophile vinyl re-releases, the situation was fairly straightforward. Companies such as DCC, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records and, of course, Speakers Corner all maintained a mutual, unwritten ethical code: we would only use analogue tapes to manufacture records.
During the course of the present vinyl hype, many others have jumped on the bandwagon in the hope of securing a corner of the market. Very often they are not so ethical and use every imaginable source to master from: CDs, LPs, digital files, MP3s - or employed existant tools from the 80s and 90s for manufacturing.
A digital delay is gladly used when cutting a lacquer disc because tape machines with an analogue delay have become quite rare and are therefore expensive. When cutting the lacquer, the audio signal is delayed by one LP revolution against the signal, which controls the cutter head, and for this a digital delay is very often employed. Of course, the resultant sound signal is completely digital and thus only as good as this delay.
We should like to emphasise that Speakers Corner Records on principle only uses the original master tape as the basis for the entirely analogue cutting of lacquer discs. In addition, the pressing tool is newly manufactured as a matter of principle. We have one digital recording in our catalogue (Alan Parsons / Eye In The Sky"), but even in this particular case we used the analogue tapes for cutting.
We only employ existing tools for manufacturing if an improved result is not forthcoming, e.g. the title Elvis Is Back, which was mastered by Steve Hoffman and Kevin Gray, or several titles from our Philips Classics series, which in any case Willem Makkee cut from the original masters at the Emil Berliner Studios in the 90s. It goes without saying that we only used the mother and that new tools were made for our production.
To put it in a nutshell: we can ensure you that our releases are free from any kind of digital effects - excluding the exception above - and that the lacquer discs are newly cut.

Killing MachineKilling Machine on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label
Smoking-Hot 1978 Set Released as Hell Bent For Leather in the United States
Produced by Pink Floyd The Wall Engineer James Guthrie: Uncompromising Album and Exacting Performances Remain Hard Rock and Metal Bedrocks
Marries Streetwise Aggression to Commercial Accessibility, Overflows With Confidence, Boldness, and Diversity
Includes Metal Standards Hell Bent for Leather, Evening Star, and Delivering the Goods
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI
Released the same year as the equally pivotal Stained Class, Killing Machine cemented Judas Priest's standing and reputation as the world's foremost metal band of the late 1970s. Further diversifying its music and sporting increased confidence, boldness, and full-bodied songwriting, the album managed a then-unprecedented task of appealing to mainstream tastes via its impeccably solid production, creative prowess, and staggering melodies. Known in the United States as Hell Bent for Leather, Killing Machine remains a titanic release no matter the name.
Mastered on Mobile Fidelity's world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI, this Silver Series numbered limited edition LP broadens the scope of the original production, helmed by none other than Pink Floyd The Wall producer James Guthrie. Besting those on all previous editions, the low-end thrust, high-frequency dynamics, and all-important midrange now come alive with unsurpassed detail and accuracy. Soundstaging and imaging positively explode before your eyes and ears, and instrumental separation allows insight into band's tight-fisted interplay.
Recognizing the era's potential and pushing to expand metal's horizons, Priest created music that at the time hadn't any peer. With proto-metal luminaries Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin experiencing career low points, and campy hard rockers following a softer path, the English quintet married street-bruising intensity to commercial accessibility without compromising any aggression, volatility, rawness, or ruggedness. Part of the success owes to Guthrie's expert hand. A majority, however, lies with the group's unrelenting ambition and variety-not to mention masterful performances.
Exemplified in the breakthrough "Hell Bent for Leather," as tough-as-nails resilient as any metal song and delivered by vocalist Rob Halford with a pronounced ruffian attitude as guitars blaze behind him, Killing Machine sparks with high-powered muscle and concise, exact rhythmic structures. Halford comes into his own throughout, sending his falsetto into another universe on the wide-open highway-driving anthem "Evening Star," evoking deep loss on the ballad "Before the Dawn," and attacking "Delivering the Goods" as if he's a mercenary. There's not a wasted note or moment of doubt on the album.
To author and metal expert Martin Popoff, music doesn't get any better. "To my mind, Killing Machine was the apex, the hallowed halls of heavy metal which Priest summarily occupied alone at this particular juncture in time," writes Popoff in his The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time. "The songs on this record sweat the corners and creases of all of metal's characteristics, Priest firing on and off all speeds, from quick and note-dense to positively glacial."

Filles De KilimanjaroNumbered, Limited Edition
Davis' Self-Proclaimed "Directions in Music" March Begins Here
Mastered from the Original Master Tapes: Abundant Jazz, Funk, and Rock Textures Rotate Around a Luscious Tonal Center
Landmark 1968 Effort Recognized as Davis' Prelude Into Full-On Fusion: Exotic Suite-Like Album Beautiful, Intense, Adventurous
Miles Davis' move into full-on fusion starts here. Abandoning his bebop roots and chasing electric dreams, rock-based rhythms, and ostinato pulses, the icon gives life to new music forms on Filles de Kilimanjaro, a titanic release prized for its historical significance and lasting beauty. Grounded and focused, the five compositions unfold like a unified suite. Such peak lyricism, flourishes, and phrases are experienced in the highest-possible fidelity on Mobile Fidelity's 45RPM 2LP set.
Mastered from the original master tapes and pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, this collectable audiophile version of Filles de Kilimanjaro joins the ranks of eleven other essential Davis sets given supreme sonic and packaging treatment by Mobile Fidelity. Loaded with revealing signatures, the record takes on even greater import when heard the way Davis and his mates discerned it in the studio. Backgrounds are squid-ink black, pianissimo lines shimmer, and the electric piano emerges with tube-amp warmth.
Indeed, the exotic sound, touch, and feel of the songs on Filles de Kilimanjaro are as crucial as the melodies. To that extent, listeners can now enjoy the expressive tonalities and lush colors from each instrument in full-range glory. Voicings, harmonics, and pitches are rendered with exquisite detail. The manners in which the textures and phrases rotate what seems like a unified tonal center places you at the original recording sessions, executed in July and September 1968.
The final appearance of Davis' classic second quintet bears fruit on three of the record's cuts, including the title track and R&B-tinted "Frelon Brun." Sparked with restrained funk, driving grooves, and bluesy accents, Filles de Kilimanjaro maintains an instinctive flow and controlled fredom that permit Davis to oversee an innovative blending of alterations, improvisation, and cycles. Comprised of multiple sections, "Petits Machins" is a lesson in perfectly played melodic complexity, with chromatic riffs, dominant chords, syncopated progressions, and switching meters forming a singular mosaic.
Filles de Kilimanjaro also represents a jumping-off point for Davis' lineup. For the September sessions, Chick Corea replaced Herbie Hancock while Dave Holland relieved Ron Carter. The new additions speak a different albeit common language, fitting in with Davis' desire to draw from rock and weave funk into open-minded excursions filled with exoticism, soulfulness, and wonder.
More than 40 years ago, this record epitomized the future of jazz. Davis even announced such aspirations with the tagline "Directions in Music." With the jazz world still trying to wrap its collective mind around its genius, it still does.

Shangri LaBarely a year after his debut, in November 2013 Jake Bugg returns with its bar-raising follow-up, Shangri La. The album shares a title with the Malibu studio where it was made, once the 70s haven of Bob Dylan and The Band, now the creative hib of legendary producer Rick Rubin, the recording Titan whose jawdropping c.v. spans from Def Jam and Johnny Cash to Adele and Kanye West.
Rubin's assembled wrecking crew of Shangri La session regulars includes guitarist Matt Sweeney (Bonnie `Prince' Billy, Neil Diamond, Endless Boogie), bassist Jason Lader (The Mars Volta), and drummers Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Pete Thomas (Elvis Costello). Yet for all its stellar cast and production kudos, the real star of Shangri La is, unquestionably, Bugg himself.
Asked to compare Shangri La with its predecessor, Bugg concludes: 'My first album felt like a list of songs, whereas this one feels like a whole entity with something to say. Or if my first album was the colour of grey reality, this one's the colour of the sun'. The colour of our planet's nearest star. Or maybe the sound of a new star intensifying their musical colours. SkunkworksFirmly established as a
solo artist, Bruce could
easily have settled into
a cozy routine of pumping out sparky hard rock
albums every couple of years, and keeping his still
vast fanbase happy. Instead, he took a far more
daring route, embracing the cutting edge alt-rock
sound of the mid-'90s and conjuring the dark, gritty
Skunkworks album in 1996. Named in tribute to
the alias used by US aerospace titan Lockheed's
Advanced Development Programs, the source of
many legendary aircraft designs. "Skunkworks" was
originally to be the name of Bruce's new band, but
after concerns that the absence of the singer's name
would limit the new project's potential, it became the
album's title. Produced by underground rock legend
Jack Endino, Skunkworks has stood the test of time
incredibly well, Bruce's harnessing of less traditional
heavy tropes, the vibrant performances of his young
cohorts, and a generous sprinkling of sci-fi imagery,
combining to thrilling effect, particularly on album
highlights "Space Race," "Back From The Edge" and
"Inside The Machine."LP 1

If You Wait
"Longing, loving, leaving: Those are the boundaries of the impeccable
pop universe that London Grammar has built for itself."
- The New York Times
"A stylish debut that demonstrates both their immense
talent and impressive instincts."
THE NEXT BIG THING. Such a label serves at once as a curse and a blessing, for messianic crowns come studded with thorns, and chalices emblazoned with this inscription are often tainted with poison. Custodians of the title can implode under the weight of expectation, or fail to bottle further the magic of that first hit single.
Not so for English art-rock trio London Grammar. Hannah Reid, Dot Major and Dan Rothman have been careful to avoid the dangers of over-exposure in the nine months since first single "Hey Now" seared itself into the collective consciousness of the blogosphere, instead releasing work after work of gradually escalating beauty from the safety of the shadows.
That was until Disclosure dropped their album Settle, at which point London Grammar vocalist Hannah Reid came to wider attention on sweeping album closer "Help Me Lose My Mind," where her spine-tingling soulful singing combined with the wash of swooning synths and downbeat 80's percussion. It will come as no surprise to fans of this track to learn that Reid's magnificent vocals are integral to London Grammar's sound, serving as the perfect accompaniment to the band's discreet production and minimalist instrumentation.
The same words will be used ceaselessly to describe Reid's vocals in coming weeks - "haunting", "brooding", "ethereal". Yet none of these terms adequately conveys the way her voice melts and evolves to suit the temperament and melody of each song on If You Wait, flowing like molten gold on "Interlude", or acquiring the varied textures of a vast swathe of satin and silk on "Nightcall". Her vocal is always underscored by an enduring brittle beauty and an underlying otherworldliness, as if she honed her craft singing amidst the forests of Lothlórien, or some far-flung corner of Westeros.
Though her voice may be otherworldly, the thematic concerns of the album are very much rooted in this world - youth's timeless preoccupation with finding not only love but the nature of ourselves. These soundscapes and the lyrics that populate them are characterised by broken hearts, fractured dreams and people falling in and out of love. Perhaps the most telling lyric of all is on "Wasting My Young Years", with the heart-breaking concession of "I've heard it takes some time to get it right".
The album's first single and opening track "Hey Now" has lost none of its grandeur and remains as devastatingly beautiful as it did when released at the tail-end of 2012. It's the main track on If You Wait that justifies the comparisons with The XX - especially in terms of how the band forges the space and atmosphere from reverb-tinged percussion and Rothman's discreet, almost-spectral guitars. "Wasting My Young Years" further showcases how perfectly the band balance the interplay between Reid's vocal and the twinkling keys and subtle instrumentation that floats around it, allowing it to drive the song and dictate proceedings but never once to feel overbearing.
Latest single "Strong" mirrors the intricately weaved threadwork of sounds and elaborately crafted sense of space showcased on the opening track, but utilises a more hypnotic vocal from Reid that manages to sound simultaneously heart-rending and inspiring. Elsewhere "Interlude" is as refined a paean to love and devotion as you will hear all year, matching dual melancholic piano lines and subtly building percussion to Reid's sublime wistful singing.
There is not a single weak track, but amongst the many highlights is a spellbinding cover of French house artist Kavinsky's "Nightcall". There's a particularly gorgeous moment around the two-minute-thirty-second mark when the instrumentation is peeled away and, for a few seconds, you think the song will end - before Reid's dazzling vocal is re-introduced amidst a haze of swirling keys. It's nothing short of transcendent. Also, the flawless sequencing leads to an album that begs you to drink in its beauty by listening to it from beginning to end.
This is an enthralling, stunning, deeply emotive album that perfectly marries understated electronica to sublime vocals and melodies. In a year dominated by titanic LPs, London Grammar have not only made the most perfectly formed debut album of the year - they've made one of the best LPs, period. [A-]

Back To The FrontExplaining the relevance and influence of ENTOMBED is probably as superfluous as pointing out why Slayer rule, Lemmy is bigger than God and Dio the greatest loss in metal history. A legend is a legend. Fullstop. F**k off!
If you still require a proper explanation that is less shot from the hip, well let us start with this: The Swedish Death Metal forefathers and genre innovators have inspired tons of bands all around the globe with their invincible trademark sound. However, as the band's last album "Serpent Saints - The Ten Amendments" dates back to 2007, there is definitely more than a good reason for a bit of catch-up and ask why it took so long to finish the band's superb 10th opus, programmatically titled "Back To the Front", vocalist extraordinaire L-G Petrov states:
""Serpents " was a fairly good album but a little weak compared to previous works and the distribution wasn't that great yet we continued playing shows throughout the past years but never really got going with new songs. At some point we decided that it was time for a new album, so we sat down and played riffs that we had from before as well as many new riffs and started putting them together which really sparked our motivation. That really gave us a push! We feel that this is the best album so far in many years and I think you can hear it on the album!"
Thematically, the will and determination to back up such words with fantastic songs is reflected in the powerful album title and part of the concept of the record as guitarist Nico Elgstrand describes:
"A lot of the album is about being at war in different ways and struggles/shortcomings of mankind, so we felt that "Back To The Front" fitted really well. It has a military reference obviously and we also feel like a platoon (ha ha, a small platoon) that has been behind the frontlines for a long time anxious to get back into battle. Not mean and lean but rather fat and bored and really keen on getting back to what we do best, which of course is to kill! Metaphorically speaking needless to say, ha ha. Also it is a very direct way of saying we've been away for way too long, we know and that we will now aim to stay at the front until the friggin' battle is won! The cavalry has finally arrived if you will (without horses though, ha ha)!"
Well spoken, Sir, yet expectations will be incredibly high on this one as ENTOMBED's roots and legacy goes way back into the year 1987 when they formed under the name NIHILIST. In 1989 the formation changed its name to ENTOMBED and together with Morbid (for whom singer LG played drums), Treblinka/Tiamat, Grave and Dismember, ENTOMBED/NIHILIST established themselves among the earliest bands to forge the immortal Swedish death metal sound that became really popular and unique due to its punkish roots and especially that chainsaw guitar sound, today inseparably linked to terms like "Skogsberg", "Sunlight Studio" or just "Stockholm sound". Inspired by such diverse acts as Autopsy, Motörhead, Discharge or Kiss, over the years ENTOMBED did not shy away from thinking outside of the coffin resulting in a style some fans called Death'n'Roll but in the end it was, is and will be just a band with a style and impact entirely their own.
So, what awaits the listener on "Back To The Front"? Produced by Roberto Laghi (In Flames, Hardcore Superstar) at Studio Bohus (Abba, Europe) in KunÄlv, it's 666% true to the ENTOMBED everybody loves. While not falling for total regression back to the early classics "Left Hand Path" or "Clandestine", it is a total bone-crushing opus that will have fans of all periods cry tears of joy and even the most stubborn fan of the early days join in shame. "The goal was to have riffs that felt fresh and exciting, to make an album that felt old school as well as fresh and up to date, showing who ENTOMBED are today," L-G puts it quite simply and Nico continues: "I thoroughly enjoy the fact that I find it super hard to pick 2 or 3 songs as the best of it, because i really like 'em all. I think that they all have something new and fresh yet it feels very old school in some way. "Kill To Live" with its surprising ENTOMBED-intro turned out very cool and the track also has an almost cinematic yet classic metal feel to it, dunno why, but it just invigorates me. "Second To None" kinda makes me wanna drive a tank while listening, and that to me is how proper metal should sound! It makes you wanna do mighty things so to speak!"
From the morbid, pissed-off lyrics over detuned, massive riffs to the inimitable brick-heavy groove and LG Petrov's titanic roar, "Back To The Front" not only musically but also visually with its stunning painting by Necropolitus Cracoviensis Zbgniew Bielak II (Watain, Ghost, Vader) seems to send a respectful nod to the old school as L-G confirms: "The skull will always be a part of ENTOMBED. I totally agree, we have taken away some of the rock parts and gone with more metal, and I think fans new and old will appreciate that."
With European touring under way in December with label mates and black metal genre leaders WATAIN - vocalist Erik actually penned lyrics for the song "Carnage" (from "When In Sodom" EP, 2006) - and former band member Nicke Andersson contributed parts to the new song "Vulture And The Traitor", the Swedish metal platoon ENTOMBED anno 2013 has all its weapons polished and reloaded and is ready to shatter the entire music scene with an uncompromising full frontal assault. So, let us all enjoy "Back To The Front" and celebrate the fact that the legend called ENTOMBED has finally returned. Goddamn!1. Kill To Live
