    Trouble

2007's Trouble is the third full-length release from the Duluth, MN progressive bluegrass quartet Trampled By Turtles. Produced by Rich Mattson and mastered by Dave Gardner, Trouble finds the group challenging tradition with the inclusion of electric instrumentation, drums, violin and cello. Alongside more conventional bluegrass fare like "Valley," "Arming of Infants," Like An Empty House and "Stranger" are pop leaning numbers like Still In Love With You, the foreboding Salvation, and instrumental pieces "Ceiling Slide" "Tap the Kitchen Floor" and "Spoiler." The 11-song set also features guest appearances by violinist/cellist Jesse Greene and Retribution Gospel Choir drummer Eric Pollard.

    Trouble

The first thing you might notice about Hospitality's sophomore album
Trouble is what you don't hear. The process of completing Trouble
was, for the band, one of learning to accept silence, to let that empty
space exist no matter what it might awaken or evoke. You could catch
glimpses of these dark and unexplored places in the margins of
Hospitality's 2012 self-titled debut, but they are at the very heart of
Trouble. If you listen closely, you can hear a band pushing against their
own boundaries and limitations until they find the very air around
    them subtly but perceptibly changed.

In its lyrics and its musical construction, Trouble is an album that
wonders about the mysteries that lurk just beyond our field of vision.
Slyly and sympathetically, Papini ponders a Saturday afternoon fishing
trip as a wrenching interplay of life and death, the perfect blue sky at
an air show as a setting for a soured romance. Papini elaborates: "Most
of the songs are about everyday environments that arouse anxiety or
unease. The ocean isn't meant for people; we aren't supposed to be
there, and some of the animals that live there are much bigger and
faster than we are in the water. I think a lot of the songs deal with this
'out of place' kind of theme, feelings of unease and the questions of
what is under you or what surrounds you."

The album unfolds like a walk on the beach or a journey to a place
you didn't know you were going. Perhaps a darker sound overall, but
Trouble begins with the trademark Hospitality pop then unfurls to
reward the listener with the more expansive stripped-down
instrumentation of side B. And here, again, is that distinctively present
silence, creating a space where an undulating synthesizer feels as alive
and mysterious as a single voice in a room.

    Trouble

Ray LaMontagne emerged in 2004 from a secluded family life in Maine seemingly fully formed as a singer, songwriter and performer. His 2004 debut, Trouble, became one of that year's most acclaimed releases, spawning an instant classic single in the album's title track. He returned two years later with the stunning Till The Sun Turns Black, a deeply personal work haunted by a complex and compelling melancholy. The album proved both another popular and critical success, debuting in the top 30 on the Billboard charts and further marking Ray LaMontagne as a major American artist.

Now, these two classic albums that introduced Ray LaMontagne's lush, expansive soundscape and songwriting abilities are available here on 180g vinyl for the first time!

    Trouble Man

Marvin Gaye's classic soundtrack to the 1972 motion picture Trouble Man starring Robert Hooks, Paul Winfield and Ralph Waite. The album reached the top 20 of the Billboard 200, peaking at #12. The title track was released as a single in November 1972 and became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100,
peaking at #7. The song became one of Marvin's signature songs for the remainder of his life. More recently, the soundtrack was referenced positively in the 2014 film Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Falcon (Anthony Mackie) calling it the most important thing Captain America (Chris Evans) missed during his cryogenic slumber.

    Trouble Maker

Rancid as a band has always been imbued with a sense of place: the blue collar neighborhoods where they grew up in Berkley, California, their place as individuals within their band, their band as part of a movement and their evolving sense of place in relation to the world at large. This year Tim Armstrong (vocals, guitar), Matt Freeman (bass, vocals), Lars Frederiksen (vocals, guitar), and Branden Steineckert (drums) return with their ninth studio album Trouble Maker.

Born in the midst of the post-Reagan economic downturn in the San Francisco Bay Area, the East Bay region specifically, Rancid came to light as Armstrong and Freeman were moving forward after the first band they founded, Operation Ivy, reached a friendly demise. As Rancid, the band took up the torch of social commentary and the examination of the local scene and instantly inflamed the newly revived punk community, setting the stage for what was to come. After having seen the American dream dwindle and fade within their country, community, and homes, Rancid put their description of its aftermath into their songs. Each album served as a layer cementing Rancid's natural place in punk. Their lyrical themes established their identity in the punk rock world while musically they incorporated horns, rockabilly bass lines, reggae rhythms, rasp, and distortion. Balancing their personal tales of love, loss, and heartbreak with attitude, Rancid gave their listeners a community.

Over the past 2 decades, Rancid has shown awareness of their changing environment and have established their place in it, all while never losing sight of themselves as individuals or as a band.

    Trouble An' Blues

Louisiana-born singer and harmonica blower Sidney Maiden first made his mark in the blues world during the late Forties with Eclipse of the Sun, a number cut in Oakland with guitarist K.C. Douglas. Unlike many other Southern bluesmen who urbanized their styles after relocating to the West Coast, Maiden and Douglas stuck close to their rural roots. Maiden spent much of his career entertaining farm workers around Fresno, while Douglas became a favorite in Bay Area folkmusic circles. This 1961 reunion, recorded in Berkeley by Kenneth S. Goldstein and Chris Strachwitz, reveals that the two men had lost none of their old musical empathy and shows Maiden, in the words of annotator Larry Cohen, worthy of being mentioned along with the select few greats of the mouthharp.

    Trouble Is A Lonesome Town

THRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE is a revolving music collective devoted to paying homage to the
underdog records of years past. The debut album revisits Lee Hazlewood's 1963 lost classic Trouble
Is A Lonesome Town and features Pete Yorn, Frank Black (Pixies), Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse),
Courtney Taylor-Taylor (The Dandy Warhols), Eddie Argos (Art Brut), the late Larry Norman and more.

In 1963, Lee Hazlewood released his debut album Trouble is a Lonesome Town to little fanfare. It
was a collection of solo acoustic songs stitched together with a narrative that described life in a
fictional small town inhabited by outlaws, thieves, and down-and-out laborers. The album was hokey,
but hip. Corny, but cool. It evoked a bygone era of pastoral American towns and their sometimes seedy underbellies, somewhat like a darker version of the Andy Griffith Show or a more sinister
Prairie Home Companion. More importantly, it was a fully realized concept album that predated
the trend that is so common in today' s music world. Hazlewood had originally intended the songs
as demos for his publisher, in hopes that other artists might someday record them. A half century
later, the music collective known as THRIFTSTORE MASTERPIECE has done exactly that.

Producer I band leader Charles Normal explains I first came across the record around the turn of the
millennium while living in Oslo, Norway. I found it in a secondhand junk shop and it struck a nostalgic
note somewhere within me. It made me homesick for the panoply of Americana I had experienced
while slumming it in the Southwestern border towns and California desert whistle stops I drifted
through when I first started playing music on the road. The record didn't leave my turntable for
months. Years later, I started to envision the record as a more orchestrated statement and began
recording the basic tracks in my studio.

My brother, singer Larry Norman, lent his voice to a couple of the tracks, but when he passed away
from a heart attack in 2008 I fell into a deep funk and put the project on the back burner. I couldn't
bring myself to harmonize with his vocals ... it was just too emotional to deal with. It wasn't until much
later, prompted in part by Isaac Brock, that I dusted off the tapes and hard drives and began to finish
it. I went through my address book and started calling friends who happened to be in possession of
great voices to see if they were interested in joining in.

    Bridge Over Troubled Water

Ranked 51/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Bridge Over Troubled Water is the most enduring album in the beloved duo's catalog, boasting some of their finest vocal performances as well as some of Simon's most accomplished songwriting. The album spawned no less than four hit singles: The Boxer, Cecilia, El Condor Pasa and the iconic title track, which became an instant standard and which remains one of the most-covered songs in pop history. The album also features such beloved Simon and Garfunkel classics as Keep the Customer Satisfied, Baby Driver, The Only Living Boy in New York and So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright.

Capturing the contemplative mood of the end of a tumultuous decade, Bridge Over Troubled Water quickly became one of the most popular albums of its time, appealing to counterculture audiences as well as mainstream listeners. The album spent two-and-a-half months at the top of the charts, selling more than five million copies at the time of its original release; it has since sold over 25 million copies worldwide. It also won six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Now, four decades after its original release, Bridge Over Troubled Water is once again available in its original LP format utilizing Sundazed's exacting quality standards. Mastered from the original analog tapes, the album is pressed on high-quality, high-definition vinyl, with meticulously reproduced complete original cover art. It's the perfect way to re-experience this timeless classic.

Library Catalog Music Series: Music For Troubled Machinery

What started out as a total bummer--musical sketches and ideas hindered by
a conked out machine--actually turned into an album. What you are hearing
on Music for Troubled Machinery is the slow and unruly death of Leb Laze's
core production tool..the MPC 2000 (R.I.P). When this device begins to die
it randomly freezes at any given moment, often times wiping out anything
that has been created within its path. What is interesting though is when
an MPC freezes it begins to uncontrollably spit out all of the sounds that
are loaded within it in their raw and unedited form..over and over and
over. This occurrence is like nothing I have ever heard. The machine
begins to have a mind of its own.

Leb Laze began to record and embrace these freakouts, using them as a
basis for the majority of the songs on this album..adding to them,
enhancing them and/or sculpting around them. Two shorter pieces,
Revelations and Dial In/Dial Out were actually created entirely from these
freakouts. Think of this record and, most importantly, these two tracks,
as my MPC's last words--a testament to the idea that the nonliving world
    is actually very much alive.

    Trouble, Shaken Etc.

Sian Alice Group, a collective of UK musicians Sian Ahern, Rupert Clervaux and Ben Crook, amongst other collaborators - are back with their sophomore album, Troubled, Shaken Etc. The band hones in on a genre-busting combination of organic improvisation, process-driven experimentation and the focused strength earned from a year of extensive traveling and touring the world together. You get your minimalist trances, electronic experimentation, techno thump, jazz motifs and Eastern music tropes in a joyous and complete listening experience.

    Hit It Or Quit It

25th Anniversary Reissue Of Girl Trouble's 1988 Debut LP

Featuring Two Bonus Tracks Exclusive To This Release, "White Lightning" And "Shakin' All Over."

Hit It Or Quit It Was Originally A Co-Release Between K And Sub Pop, And It Was The First Full-length That Sub Pop Ever Released.

Tacoma, Washington, 1988: A town where hazardous waste and
pulp mill fumes smelled like a breath of fresh air, old buildings were
being leveled in order to revitalize a dying downtown, forests and
farmlands were giving way to industrial parks and shopping malls, a
cultural event was wrestling at the Tacoma Dome, and Girl Trouble
could be found practicing with their plywood speaker cabinets and a
drum set purchased for $70 from the Sears surplus store in a shed
beside Bon and Kahuna's parent's house, where they still practice
    today.

This reissue of Girl Trouble's debut album, Hit It Or Quit It [KLP229],
includes eleven original songs, one Northwest classic (Steppin'
Out by Paul Revere & The Raiders), and two bonus tracks. To keep
the energy level up and the over-production level down, these songs
were recorded live with only an occasional added guitar or vocal
track. With the minimal pounding of Bon's drums, the steady cool of
Dale on bass, the buzzsaw scream from Kahuna's Ouija guitar, and
the rabid rock 'n' roll stylings of K.P. Kendall, Girl Trouble continues
playing throughout the Northwest, 30-plus years on.

So that's the story, kids. Use it or lose it. It's my way or the highway. Eat
it or wear it. Hit It or Quit It!

    1 Hopeful Rd

Over the past few years, Vintage Trouble have wowed audiences across the globe by opening for The Rolling Stones in London's Hyde Park, touring with legends like The Who and AC/DC, and playing sold-out headline shows worldwide. Now, on their first album for Blue Note Records, the Los Angeles-based foursome - singer Ty Taylor, guitarist Nalle Colt, bassist Rick Barrio Dill, and drummer Richard Danielson channel the vitality and passion of their live show into a fresh and urgent take on guitar-powered rhythm & blues. Produced by Blue Note president and three-time Grammy Award-winner Don Was, 1 Hopeful Rd. finds Vintage Trouble building off the groove-fueled sound that Yahoo! once painted as ''James Brown singing lead for Led Zeppelin'' and blending blues, soul, and riff-heavy rock & roll with joyfully gritty abandon. As heard on lead single ''Run Like the River,'' 1 Hopeful Rd. matches Vintage Trouble's emotional intensity with a raw yet sophisticated musicianship that's prompted the New York Times to name the band modern-day answer to Otis Redding and BBC Radio 6 to anoint them ''the heirs of rhythm and blues.''

    Rookie

I'm here to tell you it's definitely a piece of work to get excited about...the entire album is a standout... - Indie Shuffle

"Equally fuelled by dissonance and shivers as by soaring melodies and handclaps, Rookie wrenches alt.rock from its indie daydream and tosses it into a well-informed blend that make the kids look more like the connoisseur than the novice." - Drum Media

"It's his voice and those lyrics that are going to lunge The Trouble With Templeton into "something special" territory." - Album of the Week, Herald Sun

"The deeper you go into this full-length LP, the richer the colour and the detail." **** - Album of the Week, Courier Mail

Bella Union are thrilled to announce the signing of acclaimed Australian quintet The Trouble With Templeton whose debut album is titled Rookie.

Already a huge success in Australia, The Trouble With Templeton is the creation of singer/songwriter Thomas Calder, a 23-year-old wunderkind who formed the band in 2011. The following year saw TTWT expand to a 5-piece, the new members complimenting Calder's emotive vocals and songwriting with a collaborative, self-assured sound.

Adventurous, eccentric and stunningly melodic, Rookie is an album that leaves a distinct musical impression. With their debut release The Trouble With Templeton have crafted a record full of warmth and heart, whilst displaying a willingness to make music that's not afraid to affect or surprise. "The only prerequisite we had going in was that if we loved the song and we believe in it, then we were going to record it," says Thomas. "The element of surprise is something we really enjoy in music, something we're always shooting for. You don't want to know where a song is going from the first two lines."As a result, the album is a whirling dervish of moods and colours, of tempos and genres, melodies and layers, tackling concepts behind relationships and the way unique human narratives emerge from different viewpoints.

Musically, defining Rookie beyond a happily all-encapsulating idea like 'intelligent melodic alt-pop' isn't worth the hassle. It's an album that demands listening to in order to be understood. "It's held together by something undefinable," reckons Thomas. "For me it's a whole kaleidoscope of sounds and genres, but there's something holding it together, and that's us as a band."

    Green Lanes

"Green Lanes" is the second album from London-based band Ultimate Painting. Formed as a loose collaboration by Jack Cooper (Mazes) & James Hoare (Veronica Falls) the project quickly turned into a full-fledged band in 2014 with the release of their s/t debut album on Trouble In Mind. That album received praise worldwide from NME, Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound and more, and with "Green Lanes" the band is poised for more accolades. The album is focused & cohesive, the result of two voices becoming one and each member's songs complimenting the other.

    Parts Primitive

"Parts Primitive" is the debut album from London-based band Primitive Parts; consisting of Sauna Youth, Monotony and Male Bonding alumni Lindsay Corstorphine (guitar / voice) Kevin Hendrick (guitar) and Robin Christian (drums). After signing to Trouble in Mind earlier this year they immediately bought a Tascam 388 multitrack tape device & set to record their debut. "Parts Primitive" consists of ten close-knit and succinct songs that aim to evoke a sonic space that could be an imagined 1970s. 'Miracle Skin', 'Signal', 'Rented Housing' and 'Troubles' are influenced equally by the dynamic Australian garage rock of The UV Race, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Total Control as they are by the pop sensibilities and British charm of early Eno, The Kinks and Blur. Parts Primitive was recorded by the band directly onto two 7 reels of quarter inch tape, mixed by Mark Jasper at Soundsavers and mastered by Mikey Young overseas. Primitive Parts have shared stages with Twerps, Franz Ferdinand, The Homosexuals and Juan Wauters. Having recently bought a car, they are due to embark on a full UK tour in Autumn.

    Negative Scanner

Negative Scanner have been destroying rooms in Chicago's vibrant DIY since 2012, earning well-deserved accolades as one of the cities best live bands. Their electrifying debut album finds the band taking on all comers; guitarist/vocalist Rebecca Valeriano-Flores' gutteral howl & lyrics have gained confidence over the course of the band's previous two singles in 2014 (their debut on Trouble In Mind & it 's follow-up on Tall Pat Records). The band (guitarist Matt Revers, bassist Nathan Beaudoin & drummer Tom Cassling) have evolved into a lurching, post-punk tornado furiously spinning into near-chaos but never leaving the band's capable control. The album's opener "Ivy League Asshole" sets the tone - feral & ragged guitars chug over the rhythm section & Flores' manic yelp spits out lyrics borne out of confusion, agression, domination & submission to life, living, lovers & beyond. The album's eleven tracks in 28 minutes fly by the lsitener, threatening whiplash but begging to be replayed. Negative Scanner 's s/t debut was recorded by the band themselves in their practice space, mixed by Mike Lust 's Phantom Mobile Unit & mastered by Australian legend Mikey Young (Total Control/Eddy Current Suppression Ring).

    Pridjevi

Pridjevi is the recording project of Dino Santaleza , Ivana Picek & Nina Romic; a trio of Croatian songwriters who formed the band on a lark, trading ideas & songs over email until birthing what would become Pridjevi's debut album. After releasing it via Bandcamp in the spring of 2014 as a digital-only release, the album caught the ears of Trouble In Mind who present it here in the vinyl & compact disc format. Pridjevi's s/t debut is a dizzyingly psychedelic magnum-opus & a stunning debut, stitching together a seemingly disparate range of inspirations such as psychedelia, acid rock, baroque pop, Tropicalia, and Eastern ragas into an addictivel listenable whole. The band sings entirely in Croation, but the melodies & songs carry the entire weight of the album, holding the listener's attention until the last note is struck. Pridjevi's tunes feel almost like rock devotionals to a higher spirit; heavy, hypnotic & wholly unique. The band has evolved into a fully functional live unit, playing shows & festivals in Europe, building a solid fanbase, particularly in their native country, where the band has already been featured in Rolling Stone & beyond.
