Featuring ''Red Red Wine'', ''I Got You Babe'' And ''Rat In Mi Kitchen''
Early 1980, UB40 scored their first success with ''Food For Thought'', reaching high in the charts. By the time they released their first album they were already so successful that they had signed off on unemployment benefit, leading to the stamped Signing Off featured on form 40, for the sleeve of their debut album. The first dub album ever to reach the album charts in the U.K. included ''One In Ten'' and ''Don't Slow Down''.
In 1983 the band put on a new project, boasting ten cover versions of Jamaican hits and, contrary to low expectations, it became a huge hit and the band's first number one album. Tracks included are ''Cherry Oh Baby'' and ''Please Don't Make Me Cry'' and ''Red Red Wine''. The latter was a rather poppy song and became the band's biggest-selling single ever, entailing their definitive worldwide breakthrough.
There have been lots of collaborations through the years and most of these became huge hit songs. Together with Chrissie Hynde UB40 recorded two singles: ''I Got You Babe'' (1985) and ''Breakfast In Bed'' (1988). They teamed up with Afrika Bambaataa for ''Reckless'' (1988) and with Robert Palmer the band released ''I'll Be Your Baby Tonight'' (1990), just to name a few.
UB40 - COLLECTED has captured all the different phases of the band in one complete album, from classic hits combined with the new!LP 1

I Will BeI Will Be is the debut full-length by the Dum Dum Girls. Recorded at home by Dee Dee and mixed with the help of Richard Gottehrer (Strangeloves, Voidoids, Blondie, The Go-Gos and, more recently, The Raveonettes), I Will Be is a decidedly medium-fi record. Just under 30 minutes with 11 songs, it's a short tribute to love, fun and the classic pop form of the '60s girl groups and early punk rockers.1. It Only Takes One Night

Present ArmsPresent Arms is the second album by UB40 and was released in 1981. Like their first album Signing Off, Present Arms contained many socially and politically charged lyrics, from the anti-militant title track to 'Sardonicus' which was linked to both President Ronald Regan and Risus sardonicus, an ironic smile on tetanus victims' faces, The UK top-ten hit One In Ten was an attack on Thatcherism. The album also touches on a subject very dear to UB40's heart: 'Lamb's Bread' and 'Don't Walk On The Grass' are written as part of the band's longstanding campaign for the legalization of cannabis. Musically, the album continued in the heavy, reverb-drenched, mellifluous style of the debut.1. Present Arms

Too TrueIn the summer of 2012, between tours supporting End of Daze, I
locked out the world and sat down in my apartment to write a new record
- clear view of the New York City sky through iron bars like a promise.
Like all compulsive minds, I was waiting to let the muse loose. And so
I spent the next week in a sparkling haze, and when I emerged from the
frenzy to go back on tour, indeed ten new songs came with. They were
bound together, not just by an overall sonic palette and new guitar pedal,
but by time, intention, and fervor. Do you hear Suede? Siouxie? Cold-wave
Patti? Madonna? Cure? Velvet and Paisley Undergrounds? Stone Roses?
Cuz I did.
Still later, in November 2012, I returned to Hollywood to record among
the lingering Pet Sounds at East West Studios, in pursuit of a bigger,
darker, more urgent sound. Sitting in the room with my favorite team of
regulars (Richard Gottehrer and Sune Rose Wagner producing, Alonzo
Vargas engineering), it was easy to add some flesh to my song skeletons.
But, unfortunately, the previous year of touring had reduced my voice
to a pale spectre of its former self. I left California with the heavy burden
of an unfinished album.
Truly one of those disguised blessings though - the extra time was a
gift. These songs weren't done at all! So I recorded vocals alone in my
bedroom studio, fueled by Rainer Maria Rilke, Anais Nin, Arthur Rimbaud,
Paul Verlaine, Charles Baudelaire, Sylvia Plath; the punk poet singers
Patti Smith and Lou Reed; and finally, an unhealthy obsession with the
Surrealists' manifesto of desire.
I write this now, many months later, on the up. So much of my life has
been defined, aided, and even saved by music. Too True is my best
attempt at joining the rock'n'roll ranks, of chasing pop into the dark,
and I am as ever, humbled that you listen.

is now back in print on vinyl, after more than a decade of fetching high
prices on the collectors market. To date, How It Feels has sold over
In 1997, Sub Pop approached Sunny Day's members for help in compiling
a rarities album. Because there were so few usable tracks, band
founders Jeremy Enigk and Dan Hoerner agreed to get together and write
some new material to augment the archival songs, but they wound up
crafting an entire new album in a matter of days.
Without Mendel, who remains with Foo Fighters to this day, Sunny Day
reunited to record How It Feels to Be Something On, which Sub Pop
released on Sept. 22, 1998. After 2000's The Rising Tide, the band split,
with Mendel continuing his work with the Foo Fighters, though Enigk,

808 State are an English electronic music group, formed in 1987 in Manchester, taking their name from the Roland TR-808 drum machine. 808 State's style has been labelled as techno and house, and the band are regarded as pioneers of the acid house sound.
Martin Price was the owner of a record store, Eastern Bloc, and was also the founder of the independent record label, Creed. Customers Graham Massey and Gerald Simpson joined Price to form a hip hop group called Hit Squad Manchester. Soon after, the band shifted to acid house, using the name 808 State for the first time.
Gorgeous is their fourth studio album. The album has some new wave influences; sampling Joy Division's track She's Lost Control in Contrique, Ian McCulloch as guest vocalist on Moses and 10 X 10 a gospel-house track built on the foundation of The Jam's Start!.
You will also find a reworking of UB40's One in Ten.
Furthermore the album features guest vocalists Barrington Stuart, Rachel McFarlane and Caroline Seaman.

On A Storytellers NightDeluxe 180 Gram Limited Edition Gatefold Red Vinyl
On a Storyteller's Night is the fifth studio album by British melodic rock band Magnum, released in 1985 on FM Records. The album is widely considered as Magnum's breakthrough album. This album features one of the Tony Clarkin's most thoughtful songs, "Les Mort Dansant" a simple song in that paints a picture of a man being executed by a firing squad. It is the way in which the song accomplishes this, with some very colorful and imaginative metaphors. Magnum had parted company with Jet Records in 1983, and Mark Stanway had departed to work with Phil Lynott's Grand Slam, and Kex Gorin had joined Robin George's band. In 1984 Keith Baker took over management, and the band recruited Drummer Jim Simpson and keyboard player Eddie George. Following a six-week tour of the UK, Tony Clarkin began writing new material. Mark Stanway would later return to the band, and the band recruited Kit Woolven, who has produced albums for Phil Lynott, David Gilmour and Thin Lizzy. The album was recorded at DEP International Studios, then known as The Abattoir Studios, home of UB40. Upon its release in May 1985, On a Storyteller's Night reached #24 in the UK charts and launched the band across Europe and is also notable for the stunning cover by fantasy illustrator Rodney Matthews. Two singles were released to promote the album, an alternate recording of "Just Like an Arrow" in March 1985 and "On a Storyteller's Night" in May 1985.Side A:
