United NationsOriginally released in 2008, United Nations' eponymous debut
album was destined for commercial controversy from the
moment it was announced. The anticipation surrounding its
release was at a fever pitch as rumors circulated that the
enigmatic band's all-star lineup included members of Thursday,
Glassjaw, and Converge. When the album finally dropped, its
lawsuit-baiting artwork - essentially the originally cover of The
Beatles' Abbey Road album, with all of the Beatles engulfed in
flames - immediately forced at least one major mall retail chain
(rhymes with Not Tropic) to destroy all of the several thousands
of copies it had ordered. The album's entire pressing was then
recalled, destroyed, and repackaged with artwork presumably
less offensive to Sir Paul and Co. The vinyl has been out of print
ever since, and that original artwork has become more myth
United Nations has been remastered for this special deluxe vinyl
edition, and includes an infinite bonus track. The original
banned artwork has been restored to its litigious glory, now
expanded to include the previously unreleased panels to
complete the original triptych - all printed on a massive 12x36
full-color foldout poster. Not content to merely flirt with fire, we
have housed this infamous, inflammatory artwork inside a
custom embossed, numbered old-style gatefold jacket that is
curiously reminiscent of the original Beatles' White Album
Each album is stamped with a sequential number, in a limited
edition of however many it takes for United Nations to get sued.

Thee PhysicalSince the release of Dark Rift in the summer of 2009, Travis Egedy has been spreading his scuzzy, deeply sexual brand of '90s house and trance to become one of the most prominent figures in American DIY culture. Two years in the making, Thee Physical is a giant step forward for Pictureplane and is sure to be one of the most exciting releases of 2011.
Based in Denver, CO, Egedy resides in the notorious rave-punk-house Rhinoceropolis. Thanks in large part to Pictureplanes legendary shows at Rhino, his raging club night, Real is a Feeling, and his constant stream of mixtapes and remixes, Denvers vibrant DIY scene has started to morph into a national movement. Egedys growing influence can be felt in ways that are both trivial: he coined the ridiculous genre term Witch House in 2009 and significant: Pictureplanes punk rock-like approach to the production and dissemination of his work is democratizing electronic music the same way the Ramones, Minor Threat, and Black Flag liberated rock music in the '70s and '80s.
Produced and recorded by Egedy and mixed/co-produced by Jupiter Keyes of Health, Thee Physical is a celebration of human touch in a digital world. The album is also unquestionably Pictureplanes best and most assured record to date: his vocals are confident and unnervingly sexy, the instrumentation is at once both purely electronic and surprisingly human. Pictureplane has managed to make electronic music deeply emotive, a synthesis of the human and the machine both in lyrics and sound. Summer 2011 belongs to Pictureplane.1. Body Mod

Lowell Graham Conducts The National Symphonic Winds
Recorded To 2-Track, Half-Inch 30 Inch-Per-Second Tape Via Modified Studer Tape Deck
Selections From The Stage, Screen And Olympic Fanfare
New from Wilson Audiophile Recordings, Center Stage, featuring Lowell Graham conducting the National Symphonic Winds
These recordings were made in a historic concert hall on the campus of Hampton University in Hampton Roads, Va. The history of the hall parallels somewhat New York's Carnegie Hall. The musicians in the National Symphonic Winds come from the premier military bands of the United States as well as the Virginia Symphony Orchestra. The result was a superb mix of seasoned and assured professionals for this single, five-hour recording session.
Lowell Graham, a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, was also the first to be awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts degree in orchestral conducting from the Catholic University of America. He has led orchestras and bands in performances throughout the world, and he's the current conductor and commander of the United States Air Force Tactical Air Command Band.
Recorded with minimal miking (Sennheiser), directly to 2-track half-inch, 30 ips tape using arguably the finest 2-track analog recorder in the world - the Wilson Ultramaster - a highly-modified Studer tape deck with custom-designed electronics designed by John Curl. To accomplish this difficult, time pressure recording, the recording engineering skills of the renowned Bruce Leek were employed.
The extreme dynamic range of the music remains intact as well as the soundstage and timbre of the ensemble remaining completely natural. There is no added enhancement to the concert hall's natural reverberation. When raising the volume, be careful as these real world dynamics can be harmful to playback equipment if care is not taken.
The musical repertoire was chosen to be user-friendly, vivid, colorful and impactful. Selections from Tony-winning stage classics Barnum, West Side Story and Oklahoma are joined by compositions from John Williams, including Olympic Fanfare composed for the 1984 Olympic Games. Selections from the Walt Disney favorite Mary Poppins include Spoonful of Sugar, Chim Chim Cheree and more. These significant recordings hold a distinctive place in the audio and musical world.

Fifth Dimension (MONO)By 1966, the Byrds had powered up like a mammoth Atlas rocket boosting Astronauts into orbit around the Earth, with their third album, Fifth Dimension. This amped-up new soundimmediately dubbed raga-rock due to the Byrds newfound fascination with the music of Ravi Shankar and John Coltraneis best exemplified by Eight Miles High, yet another national pop smash, and 5D (Fifth Dimension), both swirling, multi-hued masses of sonic energy on an interplanetary scale. 5D is tethered to a generation newly interested in LSD mind-trips, while Eight Miles High details the Byrds' first transcontinental flight to the United Kingdom. Folk-rock, always a Byrds staple, appears in the luscious form of Wild Mountain Tyme and John Riley. Hey Joe, soon to become a standard of shaggy-haired garage rock nation, is a standout, while Mr. Spaceman, a brilliant, humorous blend of deep space and country-rock also scaled the national charts.
Unavailable for over 40 years, we're proud to present the first ever reissue of this monumental recording in its original, highly-sought-after mono incarnation, cut directly from the original Columbia Recordings analog mono masters, with perfect artwork restoration and meticulously faithful mastering.1. 5 D (Fifth Dimension)

Winds Of War & Peace (200 Gram Vinyl)200-Gram Vinyl Plated And Pressed At Quality Record Pressings
Mastered By Kevin Gray At Cohearent Audio
On Winds of War and Peace, conductor Lowell Graham takes the National Symphonic Winds ensemble through a program of stirring orchestrations and marches. Liberty Fanfare was composed for the centennial celebration of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. The fanfare set the stage for one of the most spectacular celebrations in America's history. Samuel Barber's Commando March composed in 1943, represents Barber's first band work. Written in a quadruple meter, this work utilizes the constant contrast of dotted and triplet rhythms. Roger Nixon's Festival Fanfare March, was recognized for superb composition by the American Bandmasters Association in 1973. It is a work that's technical, bright in color and effervescent in spirit. The album also includes Victory at Sea, El Camino Real, A Santa Cecilla and Symphonic Dance No. 3.
Graham, a native of Greeley, Colorado, has earned recognition as one of America's most talented young conductors. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. He was also the first person to be awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Orchestral Conducting from the Catholic University of America.
Graham has led orchestras and bands on record and in performance throughout the world. He is the current conductor and commander of the United States Air Force Tactical Air Command Band.

Cornell 5/8/77The Grateful Dead played more than 2,000 concerts, but none continues to spark interest and provoke discussion quite like the band's performance at Cornell University's Barton Hall on May 8, 1977. It is one of the most collected, traded, and debated concerts by any band ever, has topped numerous fan polls through the years, and was a favorite of the group's longtime archivist Dick Latvala, who stated: "Enough can't be said about this superb show." Even Uncle Sam got into the act in 2011 when the recording was "deemed so important to the history and culture of the United States" that a copy was added to the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry.
Cornell 5/8/77 was recorded live directly from the soundboards by Betty Cantor-Jackson. After several years the master tapes were seemingly lost for good, but that all changed at the end of 2016. The lost tapes, or lost "Betty boards" as they are commonly known, finally made their way back home to the Grateful Dead vault.LP 1

BounceBounce is the eighth studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi, originally released on October 8, 2002 through Island Records. Produced by Luke Ebbin, Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, the album was recorded at Sanctuary II Studio in New Jersey.
Bounce was heavily influenced by the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, owing in part to Jon Bon Jovi's proximity to New York. The title Bounce was a reference to New York City's and the United States' ability to bounce back from the World Trade Center attacks as a nation. The cover image for the album includes a stylized image of a radio telescope dish at the Very Large Array.
The album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, making it Bon Jovi's highest debut in the band's history at that time.1. Undivided

Rufus WainwrightRufus Wainwright is the eponymous debut studio album by Canadian-American singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, originally released in 1998. The album was produced by Jon Brion, except In My Arms was produced and mixed by Pierre Marchand, and Millbrook and Baby were produced by Brion and Van Dyke Parks. Lenny Waronker was the executive producer.
Wainwright was signed to the DreamWorks label in 1996 after Waronker heard the demo tape he recorded with Marchand. Over the course of two years, Wainwright and Brion recorded 56 songs on 62 rolls of tape at a cost that exceeded $700,000, which was then narrowed down to twelve tracks for the album. No singles were released from Rufus Wainwright, though Sophie Muller directed the music video for April Fools, which featured Wainwright in Los Angeles attempting to prevent the deaths of opera heroines. To support the album, Wainwright toured throughout the United States and Canada following its release.
Though the album failed to chart in any nations, Wainwright reached number 24 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart (which highlights sales by new and developing musical recording artists) and Rolling Stone named Wainwright the Best New Artist of 1998. Rufus Wainwright also earned him recognitions from the Gay & Lesbian American Music Awards, the GLAAD Media Awards and the Juno Awards.LP 1

Kind Of Blue (Awaiting Repress)Ranked 12/500 on Rolling Stone Magazine's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
High quality 180 gram Audiophile Vinyl
Replication of Original Artwork
Released August 17, 1959, on Columbia Records in the United States. Recording sessions for the album took place at Columbia's 30th Street Studio in New York City on March 2 and April 22, 1959. The sessions featured Davis's ensemble sextet, which consisted of pianist Bill Evans (Wynton Kelly on one track), drummer Jimmy Cobb, bassist Paul Chambers, and saxophonists John Coltrane and Julian "Cannonball" Adderley.
After the entry of Bill Evans into his sextet, Davis followed up on the modal experimentations of Milestones (1958) and 1958 Miles (1958) by basing the album entirely on modality, in contrast to his earlier work with the hard bop style of jazz. Though precise figures have been disputed, Kind of Blue has been described by many music writers not only as Davis's best-selling album, but as the best-selling jazz record of all time. On October 7, 2008, it was certified quadruple platinum in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It has been regarded by many critics as the greatest jazz album of all time and Davis's masterpiece. The album's influence on music, including jazz, rock, and classical music, has led music writers to acknowledge it as one of the most influential albums ever made. In 2002, it was one of fifty recordings chosen that year by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry. In 2003, the album was ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.1. So What

For the first time since its original release in 1984, Wax Maniax is very proud to bring the essential debut album from NWOBHM cult-metal legends CLOVEN HOOF back to vinyl!
Originally formed in the heart of the industrial West Midlands, England in 1979, CLOVEN HOOF went through various line up changes until Spring 1982 when the band line up consisted of Lee Payne bass guitar, David Potter vocals, Steve Rounds lead guitar and Kevin Pountney drums. The band's first demo tape was given the thumbs up from no lesser than Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) who took a copy of the tape into national Radio One, and Rob Halford (Judas Priest) who got it played on a radio station in Phoenix, Arizona. The band self-released "The Opening Ritual", a four track mini album in July of 1982, and the EP stayed in the "Sounds" and "Kerrang!" heavy metal charts for six weeks peaking at number 18. Articles in "Kerrang!" and "Noise" magazine were followed by renkown Sounds writer and Kerrang! Magazine founder Geoff Barton putting the band atop his prestigious "Breaking through in '82" feature and play list.
"The Opening Ritual" attained extensive radio air play worldwide but it wasn't until Tommy Vance played tracks off the EP on his legendary "Friday Rock Show" program on Radio One in the UK that interest in Cloven Hoof began to soar. 1983 saw Cloven Hoof touring throughout the United Kingdom, earning themselves a sizeable underground cult following. Soon afterwards the group were taken under the wing of ex-Judas Priest manager David Hemmings and an offer to sign the band from CBS Records soon followed.
Personality conflicts within the band, followed by the untimely death of manager David Hemmings put a strain on relations with CBS and the offer was withdrawn. In order to keep the momentum built by the band's live appearances and radio play going, the band instead looked to leading UK independent heavy metal label Neat Records where a deal was quickly struck. The band entered the label's Impulse Studio with reknown producer Keith Nichol (Venom, Satan, Raven, etc..) to record their self-titled debut album which was met with great adulation by the heavy metal press. Shortly thereafter, frontman Dave Potter left the band to join French metal unit "H-Bomb". Cloven Hoof soldiered on, releasing a live album in 1986 with new frontman Rob Kendrick (Trapeze, Budgie) followed by a second studio album in 1988 featuring an all-new lineup including Russ North of post-Budgie group Tredegar on vocals. Three more full-length studio albums would follow, the most recent released in 2014. The band continues to soldier on to this day with Lee Payne at the helm, enjoying a strong cult following both young and old, ushered in by the internet age that has seen their 1984 debut album topping lists of the best and most influential heavy metal albums of all time.1. Bashed OutThis Is The Kit is the much beloved musical project of Kate Stables, born in England and based in Paris. Bashed Out is her band's third album, the result of an extended period collaboration with the record's producer Aaron Dessner (Sharon Van Etten, Local Natives). Dessner--the co-founder of the Brassland label--is best known for his work in The National. Indeed, the backing band he gathered for Bashed Out combines the talents of This Is The Kit's touring members (Rozi Plain, Jesse Vernon, Jamie Whitby-Coles), alongside a number of session players drawn from the Brooklyn music scene: Bryce Dessner, Thomas Bartlett (Doveman, The Gloaming), Matt Barrick (The Walkmen) and Ben Lanz (Beirut, The National) all made key instrumental contributions. This music is honest, human and humane-a folky-lovely slow-rumble. It's rock but of the hangover-friendly, stoner variety; it's folk but at a groovy speed. As notable as the music, however, is front woman Kate Stables, whose voice hearkens back to the classic singer-songwriter era--her distinctive, cutting vocals up front in the mix. It's a self-confidence gained since her previous album, 2011's Wriggle Out the Restless, which made her band a minor institution in the United Kingdom, especially on the radio which has embraced the group. This Is The Kit has received across the board support from BBC 6 DJs Lauren Laverne, Radcliffe & Maconie, Marc Riley, Cerys Matthews, and Mary Anne Hobbs--receiving further play from BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens, Jen & Ally, and Phil Taggart. Wonderful wonderful stuff, said DJ and Elbow frontman Guy Garvey, before arguing their last album should have made the Mercury Prize shortlist. The Line of Best Fit has already called This Is The Kit an essential fixture of British folk music for the past 10 years one of a handful of truly innovate songwriters working with the British folk template today. In America, however, the band is just building up to their breakout moment. Bruce Warren, program director at influential American AAA station WXPN has praised Stables' "warm and gorgeous voice" and we expect similar notices to come across on this new LP. From Kate's earliest year growing up in the UK town of Winchester, she learned that great art takes time. In some ways the place I grew up is defined by being a Roman Saxon medieval cathedral city, she explains. They started building the Winchester Cathedral a thousand years ago and they've been working on it ever since. It's an exciting moment to join This Is The Kit's continuing musical evolution into a synesthetic, shape-shifting entity-rooted in folk but encompassing elements of psychedelia, alternative rock, and electronic textures and sensibilities.1. The Sophtware SlumpThe Control Group is proud to release the first 3 albums by Grandaddy on vinyl. Under The Western Freeway has never been released on vinyl in the U S. and The Sophtware Slump and Sumday are both long out-of-print collectors gems.
Guided by Jason Lyttle's vision of spacey, mid-fi country-rock, Modesto, CA's Grandaddy unites a mess of guitar-based, late-90's fringe-music into coherent statements about humanity and technology that at times sounds a lot like OK Computer or a lower-fidelity Soft Bulletin.
Mixed in an unselfconscious manner, these influences underline Lyttle's desire to have the music convey the era's confusion. So the epic mid-tempo opener He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot recalls the stilted pace of Paranoid Android, Broken Household Appliance National Forest is a metaphorically lumbering rocker whose sounds spill over like punky stoners doing Black Sabbath, and Chartsengrafs rocks out in first-rate Vivadixie fashion. Every March 17 on St. Patrick's Day, New York City merely paints a green line down the center of its Fifth Avenue parade route-a stunt easily pulled off by any city-but only Chicago dyes an entire river the perfect shade of emerald green to honor Irish culture. Why green? Thanks to Ireland's lush vegetation, the island is often lovingly referred to as the Emerald Isle. To the Irish, a green display of pride is not to be taken lightly. In the United States, even those of non-Irish descent know to wear green clothing on St. Patrick's Day, or else be playfully pinched by an Irish friend or colleague! But it's one thing to don a green shirt or tie, another thing altogether to transform a 156-mile long river. Chicago's Stephen M. Bailey, the man who orchestrated the transformation, boasted that he'd turn the River Chicago into the River Shannon (Ireland's longest) for a day, and, eventually, he did.
There was no specific recipe for successfully dyeing a river. A bit of trial and error was required. Initially, over 100 pounds of dye was used, and the river stayed green for a week! In the second year, 50 pounds of dye kept the river green for three full days. In the third year, it was found that using 25 pounds of dye would turn the river green for a single day. Two years later, environmental concerns led to the formation of a new vegetable-based dye that produces a perfect sea of green and lasts for four or five hours-40 pounds of the stuff does the trick. Following suit across the nation, major canals, minor creeks, city blocks, drinking fountains, and even the Presidential Fountain at the White House are dyed green for St. Patrick's Day-all thanks to the wonderful example set in Chicago.
SOLID LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Chicago's solid Long-Grain Copper allows a smoother and clearer sound than cables using regular OFHC (Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity) copper. OFHC is a general metal industry specification regarding "loss" without any concern for distortion. LGC has fewer oxides within the conducting material, less impurities, less grain boundaries, and definitively better performance.
NITROGEN-INJECTED HARD-CELL FOAM INSULATION: Nitrogen-Injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation is used exclusively in most of AudioQuest's video and digital audio cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is nitrogen-injected to create air pockets. 'Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the conductors in the cable to maintain the same relationship with each other along the full length of the cable, thus ensuring that the characteristic impedance of the cable is consistent.
METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Noise-Dissipation System prevents a significant amount of RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.
DOUBLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY: Two ideal audio conductors separate from the cable's shield. Not only does this prevent the shield from being used as an inferior audio path, but it further optimizes sound quality by only grounding the shield at one end, reducing system ground-plane modulation.
COLD-WELDED GOLD-PLATED PLUGS: This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.$74.95Analog-Audio Interconnect Cable (Pair) - Multiple Lengths Available Buy Now
Dead Language (Awaiting Repress)If you spent every minute, every penny of your adult life on the road, you might make a record like Dead Language.
There's something that happens when four people have been playing music together, day in and day out, for ten years. In every basement, every colossal concert hall, every small European nation that would have them, the same four people playing the same four instruments. A full decade of plane tickets and van repairs and hangovers and fast food. At some point, the interaction between instruments, between members, transcends the brotherly love of most touring bands and enters the terrifying realm of twin telepathy. The Flatliners aren't just four dudes banging out riffs five hundred miles from home every night. They're four dudes banging out riffs in the hallways of the Overlook Hotel just like the unsettling twin girls in the The Shining. You see what I'm getting at yet?
It's been three years since Cavalcade (2010), The Flatliners' most successful album to date. A behemoth of a record, it brought famous friends like A Wilhelm Scream and Dillinger Four into the fold for huge songs like "Shithawks" and "Bleed."
Which is why Dead Language is the perfect response - it's the brutally crisp sound of four people in a room, the sonic payoff of a decade of learning how to play as one fierce unit. Its strength doesn't come from racks of guitars or bass drops, but from its sparse precision. The band's songwriting chops are as honed as their playing, allowing them the freedom to bang out their point quickly ("Young Professionals") or take their time to make an impact ("Ashes Away").
The Flatliners' records have always been an accurate, honest portrait of where the band lived, from the youthful explosion of Destroy to Create (2005) to the nuance of blooming adulthood on The Great Awake (2007), Which is why Dead Language, the band's most direct and vital record to date, is the monument to the honesty of ten years in the trenches that it has to be.1. PlanetarioFrom their humble start, file-sharing musical ideas and producing their first album in separate countries during the dawn of the internet, Novalima is now a live musical force revered worldwide for breaking boundaries and uniting seemingly irreconcilable genres, communities, and generations. They have created an inspiring movement and revolutionized the music scene in their native Peru by bridging a longstanding divide between the mainstream and the minority Afro-Peruvian community, who have struggled against discrimination and cultural dissolution for generations. Over the last two years, Novalima created their newest offering, Planetario to be released June 16th on Wonderwheel Recordings. The album's name signals Novalima's musical growth and international connections - much of the album was recorded on tour when they collaborated with top local and international musicians. There is a strong connection to Colombia created through a remarkable recording session in Bogota organized by members of La-33 including Sidestepper vocalist Eka Muñoz, Pernett and La Mamba Negra. The album also has offerings from global artists such as Marc de Clive Lowe (UK/NZ), Panko from Ojos de Brujo (Spain), and Kumar (Cuban rapper based in Barcelona). The album's debut single, "Como Yo" (to be released May 19th on digital single and 7" vinyl) honors the legendary Peruvian percussionist and longtime band member Mangue Vasquez who passed away in 2014. Not one for sentimentality, Mangue implored his friends to celebrate his life with song and dance when he passed rather than shed any tears. The life affirming lyrics are underscored by rolling percussion, twinkling synths, and a celebratory sing-song chant chorus: Gozen la vida como yo - Enjoy life, like I do. Novalima has garnered worldwide critical acclaim from mainstream (NPR, UK Guardian, Wall Street Journal, La Presse, Metro, Billboard) and underground media (Giant Step, Remezcla, Nat Geo) alike, delivered legendary performances around the world at festivals such as Roskilde, WOMAD, Pirineos Sur, NYC Central Park, Montreal Jazz Festival and Chicago's Millennium Park, earned a Latin Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Album, and were featured in cult filmmaker Robert Rodriguez's hit Mexploitation movie Machete. For their upcoming year of international touring Novalima has designed a brand new live show that will debut in Lima at the Grand Teatro National on May 28th as part of the country's celebration of 100 years of Afro-Peruvian culture.
