Remastered from the Original Analog Tapes by Kevin Grey at Acoustech and Pressed on 180g RTI vinyl! True Audiophile-Quality!

Van Morrison's 1968 release, Astral Weeks remains not only his masterpiece, but one of the greatest records ever made. The haunting, deeply personal collection of impressionistic folk styled epics was recorded with an all star jazz backing unit that included bassist Richard Davis and drummer Connie May and its absolutely awash in overwhelming emotional beauty. The poetic complexity of the material combined with Morrison's vocal dexterity and passion make it one of those rare albums for which the word timeless is not only appropriate but inescapable.

In 1967 four young musicians from Nottinghamshire, England formed Ten Years After. Alvin Lee, Chick Churchill, Ric Lee & Leo Lyons became one of the most explosive quartets on the world stage and cemented themselves as one of the biggest bands in Rock n Roll history.

The band scored eight Top 40 albums on the UK Albums Chart and twelve multimillion-selling albums on the US Billboard 200 between 1967 and 1974.

In 2014 founder members Ric Lee and Chick Churchill put Ten Years After back together with a new lineup. This new and exciting lineup features British Bass icon Colin Hodgkinson (Backdoor, Peter Green, Alexis Corner, Spencer Davis, Chris Rea, John Lord) and multi British Blues Award-winning guitarist and singer Marcus Bonfanti (Van Morrison, Ginger Baker, Ronnie Wood).

    Blowin' Your Mind

    Import

Blowin' Your Mind, the first album by Van Morrison, is generally regarded as the warming up round to Astral Weeks (1968), a critically acclaimed masterpiece by this Northern Irish blues singer. But Blowin' Your Mind really is a masterpiece in its own right, containing truly epic tracks such as the megahit Brown Eyed Girl, the somewhat funky Goodbye Baby (Baby Goodbye) and Midnight Special, a traditional with a contemporary groove and infectious bass line.

T.B. Sheets, one of the most real songs about death you'll ever hear, is a 10-minute organ packed blues jam about a dying girlfriend and one of the sweatiest and claustrophobic tunes to come out of the sixties. The latter song has been used to good effect as the sole soundtrack song to the highly recommended Nicholas Cage & Patricia Arquette movie Bringing Out The Dead (1999), and was also covered by John Lee Hooker.

    The Last Waltz

Mastered By Chris Bellman At Bernie Grundman Studios From The Original Analog Tapes And Pressed At RTI

On Thanksgiving Day 1976, The Band took the stage for the very last time at the Winterland Theatre in San Francisco for THE LAST WALTZ, which has gone on to become one of the most heralded performances of all time. Joining The Band on stage throughout the evening was an unprecedented group of pioneers in music including Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, and Neil Young, among others.

The Band, more than any other group, put rock and roll back in touch with its roots. With their ageless songs and solid grasp of musical idioms, the Band reached across the decades, making connections for a generation that was, as an era of violent cultural schisms wound down, in desperate search of them. They projected a sense of community in the turbulent late Sixties and early Seventies - a time when the fabric of community in the United States was fraying.

Guitarist Robbie Robertson drew from history in his evocative, cinematic story-songs, and the vocal triumvirate of bassist Rick Danko, drummer Levon Helm and keyboardist Richard Manuel joined in rustic harmony and traded lines in rich, conversational exchanges. Multi-instrumentalist Garth Hudson provided musical coloration in period styles that evoked everything from rural carnivals of the early 20th century to rock and roll revues of the Fifties. It's Too Late To Stop Now

Though he's released several fine live recordings over the course of his career, It's Too Late To Stop Now is the definitive live Van Morrison album. Van is backed here by a loose-but-funky, horn-driven band and the generous set list reaches as far back as his days with Them and continues up through his 1973 release Hard Nose Highway. Featured here are Van's wonderful re-interpretations of Muddy Waters (I Just Want To Make Love To You), Sonny Boy Williamson (Help Me) and Sam Cooke (Bring It On Home To Me) along with stunning versions of his classics Domino and Into The Mystic among others. Common One

Common One is the twelfth studio album by Northern Irish singer/songwriter Van Morrison - Originally released in 1980

Easily among Van Morrison's least successful albums, Common One is probably also his least understood. Arriving in the wake of the far more concise, focused Into the Music, this 1980 project found Morrison making a sweeping left turn toward the open-ended, jazz-fueled vamps and spiritual questing of his impressionistic classic, Astral Weeks, 12 years earlier. The LP contains only six songs, several woefully uneven, and fans of his tautly constructed, soul-inflected '70s work could only scratch their heads, yet the heightened horn colorations and pre-industrial imagery of the opener, In Haunts of Ancient Peace, are a signpost to Morrison's thematic preoccupations in the decade to follow. Even more seminal is Summertime in England, which sets sail for the Astral plane and stays largely on course thanks to the horn section of Mark Isham and Pee Wee Ellis, and Morrison's own hallucinatory incantation to his bardic precursors. Without these brave journeys, Morrison's soul-searching '80s trips would have sounded far different. --Sam Sutherland

    Beautiful Vision

Beautiful Vision is the thirteenth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison - Originally released in February 1982

This 1982 album captures Van Morrison banking the fires of his more urgent, R&B-flavored '70s classics to sculpt a quieter, contemplative synthesis laced with Celtic flourishes, minimalist synthesizers, and the skeletal horn charts of saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis and trumpeter-synthesist Mark Isham. Neither as expansive as the pastoral jazz meditations of the underrated Common One nor as limpid as the glossier, sometimes gloomier confessional pop that dominates his later-'80s albums, Beautiful Vision hews to ballads and loping, midtempo songs that allow Morrison gentle foils for his unmistakable vocal melismas. On its best tracks, Dweller on the Threshold, Cleaning Windows, Vanlose Stairway, and She Gives Me Religion, he alchemizes soul, gospel, and his own Irish roots in a balance he would often pursue from this point forward. --Sam Sutherland

    In The Right Place

Dr. John, or Mac Rebennack as known to friends and family, is universally celebrated as the living embodiment of the rich musical heritage exclusive to New Orleans. His very colorful musical career began in the 1950s when he wrote and played guitar on some of the greatest records to come out of the Crescent City, including recordings by Professor Longhair, Art Neville, Joe Tex and Frankie Ford. A notorious gun incident forced the artist to give up the guitar and concentrate on organ and piano. Further trouble at home sent Dr. John west in the 1960s, where he continued to be in demand as a session musician, playing on records by Sonny and Cher, Van Morrison and Aretha Franklin to name a few. He also launched his solo career, developing the charismatic persona of Dr. John The Night Tripper. Adorned with voodoo charms and regalia, a legend was born with his breakthrough 1968 album Gris-gris, which established his unique blend of voodoo mysticism, funk, rhythm & blues, psychedelic rock and Creole roots. Several of his many career highlights include the masterful album Sun, Moon and Herbs in 1971 which included cameos from Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger and 1973's In The Right Place, which contained the chart hits Right Place Wrong Time and Such A Night.

    Song For Juli

The former Youngbloods lead singer's 1972 solo masterpiece... over one year on the Billboard Album chart!

While lead singer of The Youngbloods, Jesse Colin Young's legendary rock band took the nation by storm when their single Get Together became a worldwide #1 hit and a prominent soundtrack for peace. After seven albums with the group, Jesse released more than 15 celebrated solo albums including Song for Juli a work many critics agree is his solo masterpiece.

Although it was his fourth solo album, Song for Juli was Young's first full-fledged effort under his own name. Jesse organized a versatile backup band in which piano, violin, and horns complemented his beautiful tenor voice in arrangements that recalled Van Morrison's Caledonia Soul Orchestra and featured familiar blues, country, and Cajun elements. In his lyrics, Young hewed closely to the current back-to-the-land philosophy, celebrating his family life (Juli is his daughter) and his Ridgetop retreat in Marin County, CA.

Young's fans responded strongly to Song for Juli, giving it a higher chart placing than any album The Youngbloods ever made and keeping it in the charts longer than any album he ever made.

This is 70's California pop at it's best and the album is enjoyable from the first note to the last and shows the breadth of Young's stylistic talents. Solid songs, solid rhythm section, brilliant solos, perfect piano parts and one of the most distinctive voices in pop music. There are no disconcerting interludes here. You've got rock, jazz, country, and Cajun all smoothly rolled into one.

The last studio album completed by the untouchable Ray Charles before his death. Charles sings a dozen duets with a dazzling array of guest artists from virtually every genre. »We cover it all,« Charles said, »from country to R&B, pop, rock and blues. I've never let them put me in a little box, and this (record) expresses that open feeling. A beautiful song is a beautiful song - and to sing with so many beautiful singers is a blessing from God.« Genius Loves Company stands as a remarkable hallmark in a remarkable career, including duets with Norah Jones, Elton John, Van Morrison, Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Willie Nelson, Michael McDonald, B.B. King, Gladys Knight and Johnny Mathis.

Mastered for Pure Audiophile Records by Stan Ricker from half-inch analog tape at 30 inches per second.

Never Get Out Of These Blues Alive

    Import

The unparalleled John Lee Hooker recorded Never Get Out Of These Blues Alive within two days in 1971, working together with young Blues stars Van Morrison and Steve Miller, among others. John takes centre stage delivering the hard edged Blues he's known for, whilst giving his fellow musicians enough space to jam along. Stellar performances by Charlie Musselwhite on blues harp and Miller & Elvin Bishop on guitar top off the album.

The title track is simply what Blues is all about: mournful, depressed and loose - epic stuff. Noteworthy is Hooker's laidback rendition of Van Morrison's "T.B. Sheets", of which the original is found on Morrison's debut album Blowin' Your Mind.

    River

River was a looser and rootsier affair than Terry Reid's first records, taken from a sprawl of sessions in London and California that generated enough material for several albums. The very looseness that gives the effort some charm is the same quality, however, that keeps it from being a major work. The songs mostly sound unfinished, as if they're friendly jams in which Reid and the musicians (including, most notably, David Lindley on half the album and percussionist Willie Bobo on the title track) are working out some song ideas or twisting around some riffs. It often brings to mind those parts of songs where the likes of Van Morrison, Tim Buckley, or Robert Plant sing-scat improvised-sounding vocal passages. The difference is that, for the most part, those singers used such sections to embellish solid songs. On River, the quasi-stream-of-consciousness vocal ramblings are the songs. The first four of the seven songs are very much in a funky, laid-back blues-rock groove, prominently featuring Lindley on steel, slide, and electric guitars. Reid, and the album itself, really begin to find more of an individual voice on 'River,' where beguiling Latin-Brazilian elements are introduced in the guitar, melody, and rhythm. The final two cuts, 'Dream' and 'Milestones,' back Reid's vocals only with acoustic guitar, and have a romantic melancholy that likewise makes them highlights of this highly personal but uneven record.

    The Grace EP's (Box Set)

180 Gram 5 LP Box Set

Includes a Full Color Jacket, A Double Sided Full Color Insert and a 12mm Spined Outer Sleeve.

Music On Vinyl is proudly re-releasing The Jeff Buckley Grace EPs on vinyl. This unique package contains 5 180g 12 vinyl records each in their own full colour jacket, a double sided full colour insert and a 12mm spined outer sleeve.

In the space of one studio album, and a number of recorded live performances, Jeff Buckley managed to carve out a global cult following. With so little studio output available, fans of Jeff Buckley have inevitably been drawn back time and time again to the masterpiece that is Grace, becoming familiar with every detail of every song.

The five discs that make up The Grace EPs are a collection of live performances and a few studio versions from songs that appeared on Buckley's seminal debut album. A few b-sides are also included. Indeed two of these (Peyote Radio Theatre and So Real) were promotional-only releases that weren't commercially available. The others were rare imports: Last Goodbye came out in Japan, Live From the Bataclan in France, and The Grace EP in Australia.

Jeff Buckley toured the globe extensively, performing countless shows in support of his music.
The Grace EPs capture some of the majesty of his stage presence. So what of the music contained here? First of all this is no skimpy collection - adding up to more than two hours even though there are just three to five songs on each disc. The perfect supplement to the Grace album, it contains live versions (sometimes more than one) of five songs from that record, as well as a few edit versions, a Nag Champa Mix of Dream Brother, and a 13- minute live 'Chocolate Version' of Mojo Pin.

Perhaps more interesting to collectors will be a few cover tunes not on Grace: a whopping 12-minute version of Van Morrison's The Way Young Lovers Do, a medley of Je N'En Connais Pas la Fin/Hymne A l'Amour, Hank Williams's Lost Highway, and a 14-minute take on Alex Chilton's Kanga-Roo. And there is, finally, a bonus track added to the The Grace EP (the only song in the package not on the original EPs), Tongue, a spooky ambient 11-minute studio instrumental.

If you're a devoted Buckley-phile, this set is for you. It's beautifully put together, with crisp sound quality in the live performances, and captures Buckley's tremendous flair for stage improvisation.

    50th Anniversary Edition

First Time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Presentation Of His Groundbreaking, Earth Shattering, Iconic 1963 Masterpiece

Mastered Impeccably By Joe Reagoso From The Original ATCO Records Tapes

John Lee Hooker was absolutely one of the most prolific and rhythmic pioneers of the blues scene for most of his life. Recording his first 78's in the forties and rapidly becoming one of the most in demand bluesmen of his time, Hooker was truly an American legend of our modern times.

With hundreds of songs and an untold amount of recordings and live performances throughout his
lifetime, John Lee Hooker was also one of the most revered and interpreted songwriters. Major recording acts like Canned Heat, Johnny Winter, Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, George Thorogood were all champions of this sorely missed icon.

Fifty years ago, ATCO Records released one of the most important albums of his career with Don't Turn Me From Your Door - John Lee Hooker Sings His Blues. The dozen gems that make up this rural blues event would go on to become some of his most famous tunes including the title track which was covered by numerous rock and blues artists over the years like Savoy Brown and the terrific blues wailing of Drifting Blues, the rockin' Real Real Gone and of course another brilliant standard with My Baby Don't Love Me.

The award winning giant of the blues continues with even more hard rockin' blues like Guitar Lovin' Man,
Wobbling Baby and his fan favorite Stuttering Blues.

Friday Music is no stranger to the artistry of the late great John Lee Hooker, and it is with much honor to announce the first time 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl 50th Anniversary release of his masterpiece Don't Turn Me From Your Door.

Impeccably mastered by Joe "Bluesman" Reagoso (John Lee Hooker/Canned Heat/Johnny Winter) from
the original ATCO Records tapes, John Lee Hooker's classic Don't Turn Me From Your Door will truly be one of the most anticipated blues releases of the year.

To make your limited edition listening experience all the more entertaining, we are also including the very rare album cover graphics for the first time in fifty years, which will truly enhance the wonderful blues within by the legendary John Lee Hooker.
