    Walks For Motorists

White Hills are proponents of psychedelia as transformation. The music made by Dave W. and Ego Sensation is risky and cutting edge, rooted in dystopian futurism and hyperconscious of society's constant desire for a new and better drug. That progressive aesthetic is at the heart of White Hills' newest album Walks For Motorists, a radically stripped-down record that emphasizes rhythm and groove. The album bursts forth with a new kind of intensity, one born out of laser-focused precision and detail-oriented songwriting. Possibly surprising to fans familiar with the Hawkwindian guitar squall of earlier albums, the songs on Walks For Motorists began as a keyboard melody or bass line, and several songs on the album don't even feature guitar at all. This is propulsive, open music, surreal to its core but made to inspire people to get out of their seats and move.

Pressed On 180 Gram Vinyl With Gatefold Sleeve

Death Walks Behind You is the second studio album by British rock band Atomic Rooster. It is commonly thought of as the archetypal Atomic Rooster album, recorded by the 'classic' line-up of Vincent Crane, John Du Cann and Paul Hammond.

It is, critically and commercially, their most successful album and often hailed as a classic of the progressive rock genre. It also produced the hit single Tomorrow Night (UK #11), which became one of the band's best-known songs. The album's cover features the William Blake monotype Nebuchadnezzar.

The title track was covered on record in 1992 by Paradise Lost, in 2000 by Bigelf (on their album Money Machine) and in 2012 by Swedish death metal band NonExist.

A repackaging and remastering job restores the original artwork in all its gatefold glory.

    Original Sun Singles '55-'58

To hear Johnny Cashs swaggering Sun Records-era material is to marvel at one of the primal source-streams of what was fast becoming the headwaters of rock n roll. Cashs craggy, lunch-bucket vocals on gleaming original versions of songs like Cry! Cry! Cry!, Get Rhythm, Big River, and I Walk the Line, backed by the signature guitar style of Luther Perkins and Marshall Grants steady bass, are really just the tip of the iceberg corralled on this stunning collection. Folsom Prison Blues, Hey Porter, and So Doggone Lonesomeand plenty more just as exciting offer still more rock-solid cornerstones of the Johnny Cash legend, an edifice that will stand as long as the pharaohs pyramids.

    Johnny Cash Sings Hank Williams

Originally released June 15, 1960, Johnny Cash Sings Hank Williams is not quite an accurate title. Only four of the album's twelve tracks are Hank Williams' songs with all but one of the remaining tracks composed by Cash. Whatever the title, this is a fantastic collection of early tracks from Sun, including "Straight A's in Love," "I Walk the Line" and "Folsom Prison Blues." Including 16 classic tracks recorded at Sam Phillips' legendary Sun Studios in Memphis, TN, this set provides a quick and concise fly-over of the genre-defining music Phillips put together in the late 1950s, although naturally there's a lot more to the story than just what is presented here. What is here, though, is immortal, including Elvis Presley's That's All Right and Blue Moon of Kentucky, Johnny Cash's I Walk the Line, Jerry Lee Lewis' Great Balls of Fire, and Carl Perkins' Blue Suede Shoes and Matchbox, among others. The Lumineers

In 2011, an eponymous, self-recorded EP led to touring, and before long The Lumineers started attracting devout fans. They're drawn by songs like Ho Hey and Stubborn Love, Americana-inflected barn burners in the vein of the Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons. The roots revival of the last few yeas has primed listeners for a new generation of rustic, heart-on-the-sleeve music. What One Becomes

SUMAC is the trio of Aaron Turner (Isis, Old Man Gloom, Mamiffer) on guitar & vocals, Nick Yacyshyn (Baptists) on drums, and Brian Cook (Russian Circles, These Arms Are Snakes, Botch) on bass whose ability to deliver punishing music is matched only by the weight of their pedigree. Turner is the founder of the influential Hydra Head Records as well as the boundry pushing SIGE label and since his days in Isis has consistenetly challenged himself to push the boundries of heavy music. Cook's ability to delivery complex bass lines are matched by his bone shaking heavy tones. Yachyshyn's drumming abilities are much lauded, especially by Dave Grohl who often calls him out as his favorite drummer currently playing.

Together on their new epic double album What One Becomes the trio walk the line between chaos and control. This sophomore album sees the band take a leap forward from their debut The Deal (2015) revealing a new side of Turner's combustible songwriting and guitar playing. Fans of the legendary Isis and cult heros Old Man Gloom will not be disappointed. There is a profound anxiety that leaches through What One Becomes. SUMAC's choreographed structures parallel the internal and personal struggles with anxiety. They seek to identify the source, devise a course of action, and confront that condition at hand. SUMAC channels psychic distress into their rigorously algebraic maneuvers and syllable-crack dissonance.

With His Hot And Blue Guitar

Johnny Cash With His Hot and Blue Guitar was not only Cash's debut album, it was also the first full-length LP released by Sun. The LP's twelve tracks include one side of his debut single, ''Cry, Cry, Cry,'' along with two of his best-known recordings, ''Folsom Prison Blues'' and ''I Walk the Line.'' Backed by ''The Tennessee Two,'' Luther Perkins on guitar and Marshall Grant on bass, the tracks are spare, direct and intense. Cash's distinctive ''boom-chicka'' rhythm propels every song as his commanding voice captures and holds the listener.

From the minute he walked into Sun Studios, Johnny Cash began a career that would see him become one of the biggest and most influential musicians of our time. Though only on Sun from 1955-58, Johnny made some of his most legendary recordings there. When he moved on to Columbia Records, Johnny left behind a large cache of material which Sun happily compiled and released on LPs throughout the 60's, mixing Cash's singles-sides with previously unissued recordings. The resulting platters were a goldmine for fans eager to hear more from country's newest superstar. From the original Sun masters, featuring many raw, in-the-studio sides (sans overdubs) - the Man in Black has never sounded better!

    Johnny Cash at San Quentin

Perhaps even more so than its predecessor, Johnny Cash at San Quentin captures Cash at his most raw and uninhibited. The artists raucous rapport with his captive audience is obvious on an inspired mix of Cash classics (I Walk the Line, Folsom Prison Blues), jailhouse ballads (Starkville City Jail, San Quentin), traditional tunes (Wreck of the Old 97, Therell Be Peace in the Valley) and well-chosen covers (Bob Dylans Wanted Man, the Lovin Spoonfuls Darling Companion). The albums most popular track, though, remains the Shel Silverstein-penned novelty number A Boy Named Sue, which became the biggest hit single of Cashs career.

Johnny Cashs five-decade musical career was loaded with bigger-than-life landmark moments. None were more memorable than the Man in Blacks historic concerts at Folsom Prison and San Quentin State Prison, and the beloved albums that documented those shows. Cashs passion for prison reform and rehabilitation inspired him to perform a series of concerts for inmate audiences, and two of these unique events were documented on Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison and Johnny Cash at San Quentin. These albums, originally released in 1968 and 1969 respectively, remain among Cashs best-selling and best-loved recordings. At the time of their original release, they revitalized his career, and played a crucial role in his crossover from the country music world to the mainstream pop charts.

    American III: Solitary Man

For younger generations of musicians, having their song cut by Johnny Cash must be a little like scaling the Washington Monument. On his third album
for producer Rick Rubin's American label, Cash makes Tom Petty's I Won't Back Down sound like a companion classic to I Walk the Line. He
transforms U2's One into a sturdy testament of plainspoken faith, while he plumbs the netherworld of Nick Cave's The Mercy Seat and Will Oldham's I
See a Darkness. Amid more familiar fare (including Neil Diamond's title track), the album's sing-along standout is the deadpan, down-and-out, talking
blues of Nobody. Cash's recent originals have the age-old purity of Appalachian music, while the traditional closing of Wayfaring Stranger offers
bittersweet benediction. Merle Haggard, Sheryl Crow, and June Carter Cash provide vocal cameos. -Don McLeese

On their 1997 release, The Promise Ring made emo more accessible,
which laid the groundwork for the commercially successful
acts that would follow. The band showed it doesn't always have to
be such a pity party, and that catharsis can come in many forms,
particularly in the naively optimistic power-pop of Nothing Feels
    Good.

The pioneering band walked the line between brusque sentimentality
and uplifting hooks, making them emo's first pop emissaries.
Cheap Trick for hardcore kids. If Fountains of Wayne, Sebadoh,
and Jonathan Richman had an emo love-child, Nothing Feels
Good might be its name. The record was a high point for many
fans of the band and is considered one of the pillars of the genre.

Perhaps because of this light-hearted yet concentrated approach,
Nothing Feels Good landed with the kind of fanfare that hadn't
been seen for a band from emo's sophomore class, selling over
50,000 records in its initial run. Considering a good run for some
of their peers was around 10,000 to 15,000 albums, Nothing Feels
    Good was veritable emo-platinum.

    Nothing Feels Good

    Remastered

On their 1997 release, The Promise Ring made emo more accessible,
which laid the groundwork for the commercially successful
acts that would follow. The band showed it doesn't always have to
be such a pity party, and that catharsis can come in many forms,
particularly in the naively optimistic power-pop of Nothing Feels
    Good.

The pioneering band walked the line between brusque sentimentality
and uplifting hooks, making them emo's first pop emissaries.

    Shrines

Shrines is the debut album by Purity Ring, a Halifax/Montreal based duo comprised of Corin Roddick and Megan James. Purity Ring make lullabies for the club, drawing equally from airy 90's R&B, lush dream pop, and the powerful, bone-rattling immediacy of modern hip hop. Megan's remarkable voice is at once ecstatic and ethereal, soaring joyfully through Corin's carefully chopped beats, trembling synths, and skewed vocal samples.

Despite the band's young age (Corin is 21, Megan 24) and short gestation (they formed in late 2010), Purity Ring have delivered one of 2012's most assured and anticipated debuts with Shrines. Indeed, Shrines feels like anything but a first record, its vocal hooks are inescapable, its lush production futuristic and sophisticated but also as pristine as anything on pop radio.

The record's eleven tracks trace a unique aesthetic universe that is carefully crafted and fully realized, deftly walking the lines between trap-rap exhilaration and otherworldly rapture, pleasure-center pop and diaristic emotion, childlike dread and total self-possession. Purity Ring's is a universe that invites exploration and demands revisiting.

Johnny Cash was born during the great depression into a poor family in Arkansas. At a very young age, he worked on the family farm and experienced many of life's struggles. This is also the time he would develop his love for music, family and the Bible, which followed him closely throughout his long career.

In the early fifties after spending time in the Air Force, he moved to Memphis, became friends with folks like Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley and Jerry Lee Lewis, and ultimately cut some sides at Sun Studios which became the catalyst that would kick-start the beginnings of a soon to be worldwide superstar, troubadour and humanitarian unlike the world has ever known. The folks at Columbia Records knew that this young fellow named Johnny Cash was destined for superstardom. They quickly signed the legend to a long-term deal, and his first Columbia singles like his prolific Don't Take Your Guns to Town forever etched "The Man In Black" trademark to his name.

In 1967 after many chart-topping country and pop albums and a bevy of hit singles and Grammy Awards, more fame followed as the brass at Columbia Records honored their journeyman Johnny Cash with his first hits collection, the multi-platinum Johnny Cash's Greatest Hits. The album was a blockbuster as it topped the charts, making this a crossover hit with both country and pop audiences, proving once again that his career was of historic merit. Filled with more hits than a roadside jukebox, the amazing album takes off with the classic duet with wife June Carter Cash and Grammy Award winner Jackson. This chart-topping single is followed up by one of his most famous songs the number one I Walk the Line.

More treasures follow with the country belter Understand Your Man and Cash's own hit interpretation of Orange Blossom Special, which truly made the album a treasure trove of hits.

More greatest hits follow as the LP features a nice helping of solid smashes like Ring of Fire Five Feet High and Rising and probably one of the first Bob Dylan covers ever with his haunting It Ain't Me Babe. In total, the album showcases eleven important Johnny Cash recordings which have truly gone on to become international classics for all time.

    Future Crooks In Paradise

Future Crooks In Paradise is a fun and gripping 26-minute joyride. It walks an interesting line between the snarky, clever melodic punk of Say Anything, and frontman Mike Rogers shows shades of greatness in his songwriting and vocal delivery throughout. Featuring Weatherbox's Brian Warren on guitar, Future Crooks takes a stab at something that is hardly typical pop-punk, but certainly has roots in punk rock and is easily accessible from first listen.

If Only You Were Lonely (Awaiting Repress)

With the breakout success of Hawthorne Heights' 2004 debut, The Silence in Black and White, the little screamo band that could from Dayton, OH, could have easily taken the formulaic approach with its sophomore album. Instead, this rising new rock outfit does everything it can to broaden its scope on If Only You Were Lonely. One need look no further than the hushed, piano-steered closing number, Decembers, which echoes both the Beach Boys and Death Cab for Cutie. That somber highlight aside, Hawthorne Heights haven't exactly ditched their calling card, as exhibited by the infectious, self-deprecating heartbreak anthem We Are So Last Year and Pens and Needles, a bold, capable punk-pop nugget with serious devotional issues. The outfit's three-axe attack coupled with the distinctive pipes of J.T. Woodruff find Hawthorne Heights able to go where peers like Fall Out Boy just can't. Be it the downright winsome lilt of Saying Sorry or the riotous punk of This Is Who We Are -- painted with blood-curdling screams -- the group manages to walk the fine line between art and its aspirations of world domination with its credibility in check.
