Metalheads who thought W.A.S.P. and Mötley CrÜe were just choir boys and who were looking for more vile and boisterous music were well served when White Zombie released their albums in the mid- to late '90s. The ingredients? White-trash-on-acid metal, growled vocals and B-horror movie visuals.
After releasing the successful album 'La Sexorcisto' in 1992 Rob Zombie and his band's opinion was that it all could be a bit more rough. And so it happened..
Follow-up album 'Astro-Creep 2000' from 1995 is much heavier than its predecessor, with a more industrial metal style and a darker sound as it deals with twisted poetry about murder, the undead, blasphemy and satanic elements.
'La Sexorcisto' is a must have for all the metal and thrash fans, 'Astro-Creep 2000', but 'Astro-creep 2000' is its number one contender!1. Electric Head Pt. 1 (The Agony)

The Lion's RoarSwedish sisters First Aid Kit have gone from faraway teenage fans covering Fleet Foxes for fun to recording a Blue Series 7-Inch single of Buffy Sainte- Marie's Universal Soldier with Jack White in his Nashville, TN Third Man Studios. Originally signed by The Knife owned label, Rabid Records, Wichita Recordings signed them in 2009 and released their debut LP The Big Black and the Blue in early 2010. Their sophomore album was recorded in spring 2011 in Omaha, NE produced by Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis, Monsters of Folk). From the dynamic title track onwards, the sophomore album is a rich and stirring affair that expands upon the keen and sophisticated country tinged pop of their critically acclaimed debut. The Lion's Roar is a full band record, the girls' father Benkt takes the bass, Mattias Bergqvist drums, while Mogis and Nate Walcott of Bright Eyes, and a cast of Omaha-based musicians round out the sound. Album closer, 'King of the World' features The Felice Brothers, just passing through town during the session, and local hero Conor Oberst, who sings the last verse.1. The Lion's Roar

3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of... is the debut album by American Hip Hop group Arrested Development, released in 1992. The album's chart success was the beginning of the popularization of Southern Hip Hop.
The album stood in stark contrast to the gangsta rap that ruled the Hip Hop charts in 1992, in its focus on spirituality, peace and love. It was voted as the best album of the year in The Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll. The album's title refers to the length of time it took Arrested Development to get a record contract.
The album charted at #3 in the UK Charts, and #7 in the Billboard 200. Charting singles that came off the album are People Everyday, Mr. Wendal and Tennessee. The latter song is part of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list.1. Man's Final Frontier

'La Sexorcisto : Devil Music Volume 1' was both a critical and commercial success for White Zombie, climbing up the charts in the US and gaining massive MTV video airplay and mainstream rock radio airplay with Thunder Kiss '65 and Black Sunshine. The album's sound is a mix of groove metal and funk metal with lots of B-movie samples. Tactless and continuously shocking, lyricist Rob Zombie reveals blatant tales of muscle cars, sleazy encounters, and Fangoria-mustered fantasy, clearly paying homage to vintage trash culture.
Rob Zombie explained he wanted to keep a groovable dance element in the music, a trait which is often absent in metal music. Weak appetites for raunchy, tongue-in-cheek decadence need not apply!1. Welcome To Planet Motherfucker / Psychoholic Slag

In The Skies (1979) is the second solo album by British Blues Rock inventor Peter Green, who was the founder of Fleetwood Mac and a member from 1967-70. In The Skies was released almost a decade after his first solo stint The End Of The Game (1970).
Accompanying Green on this album were several experienced session musicians, including Snowy White, who went on to work with Pink Floyd before joining Thin Lizzy. White contributed some of the lead guitar work on the album. Also present was Green's colleague and friend from his earliest bands, Peter Bardens, and Robin Trower drummer Reg Isidore.
Five of the nine songs are instrumentals, continuing a longtime Green tradition. It's a solid and welcome return by a guitarist who in his prime rivaled Eric Clapton.1. In The Skies

Motown Records approached American R&B/rock band Rare Earth in the latter part of 1968 to sign a recording contract with the label. At first the group was reluctant because of the fact that other white artists/groups hadn't found success with the label because they were primarily geared for promotion and distribution in the black market only.
It was when Motown decided they wanted to launch a new division of Motown to cater to more white artists and broader radio formats that Rare Earth relented. Motown didn't have a name for their new endeavor initially so the band jokingly suggested their namesake Rare Earth. Surprisingly, they agreed and the Rare Earth subsidiary was born.
Rare Earth had been playing clubs for several years prior to signing with Motown, cutting their teeth on a lot of R&B music which was prevalent on the radio at the time. This is where the band developed their now famous version of the Smokey Robinson/Temptations song Get Ready. It started out as a 3-minute song until one member took a solo and then everyone wanted a solo so over time it evolved into a 21-minute long monster. It became the closing song each night and people liked it so much they would stay just to hear it.
The band even featured the extended take of Get Ready on an entire side of this, their 1969 debut album of the same name for Motown. After initial slow sales, they decided to release the first three minutes of Get Ready as a single. Not only was it a huge hit, peaking at #4, it propelled the album, which also boasts the band's takes on the classics Tobacco Road and Feelin' Alright, into the Top 20!1. Magic City

It was during the 1990s that Yes underwent one of its not infrequent periods of revolutionary change. Although it might appear unusual to the outside world, the idea of constantly re-moulding the Yes concept ensures the band remains a dynamic force. One result of such upheaval was the creation of Talk, the 1994 album regarded by many critics as their most powerful and intriguing pieces of work. It certainly represents 'a journey into the unknown' - as the album's producer, the multi-talented Trevor Rabin, describes it.
After the Union tour it was decided that Yes would carry on with Trevor Rabin, Jon Anderson, Tony Kaye and Alan White. Their plan was to record a new album produced by Trevor, which evolved into Talk. Trevor and Jon wrote all the music and lyrics. The aim was to tackle the challenges of the computer age. However, as can be heard on this welcome LP reissue, many of the traditional Yes qualities remain, including the use of acoustic guitar, vocal harmonies and a touch of the traditional Hammond organ sound.
In the aftermath of Talk, Yes was reborn with Jon, Chris, Steve Howe and Alan White back together. A succession of splendid new albums followed, including Open Your Eyes (1997) and The Ladder (1999). During 2001 the band embarked on a Yes Symphonic tour.LP1

Welcome To The PleasuredomeImport
Frankie Say Relax
Those three words in black letters on white oversized T-shirts persist as a main part of the imagery of the eighties. But even if you take away all the Malcolm McLaren-styled-marketing, Welcome To The Pleasuredome still stands out as one of the seminal records of the decade.
Produced by Trevor Horn (Art of Noise, The Buggles and briefly YES), it should. The sometimes over-the-top songs are interspersed with snippets of a Ronald Reagan impersonator and bombastic orchestral compositions. Put their most famous song 'Relax' in the middle of this and the song that created so much controversy when it was first released becomes a model of restraint. The irresistibly pounding yet simple bass line makes it as much a floor-filler today as it was in 1984.
The Orwellian 'Two Tribes', released at the height of the Cold War, still seems strangely poignant. 'The Power Of Love', the hyper-ballad that topped the British charts for a number of weeks, is still deliciously cheeky.
The re-mastering of this album will make your head spin and is the first that does the Trevor Horn production justice. As this is the first re-issue of the album on vinyl in 25 years, it's a damn good thing Music On Vinyl is releasing it on 180 grams audiophile vinyl!1. Well...

Archive From 1959: The Billy Childish StoryImport
Billy Childish has been releasing records, painting, writing poetry and generally doing his own thing for the past 32 years. He first took to the stage back in October of 1977 with the seminal punk garage band The Pop Rivets. They split after two years and from there he joined The Milkshakes along with fellow Pop Riveter Bruce Brand and local lads Micky Hampshire and Russ Wilkins. After that came Thee Mighty Caesars, Thee Headcoats, The Buff Medways and right up to date with his two current ensembles The Musicians Of The British Empire and The Chatham Singers.
The 51 track compilation Archive From 1959: The Billy Childish Story takes a look back at the more rock 'n' roll aspects of Billy's musical career which is why there's no spoken word or poetry and many of its tracks have been unavailable for ages. In amongst these more well known bands are tracks he recorded solo and with other artists like The Delmonas, Thee Headcoatees, Singing Loins and Kyra Rubella.
Over the years Billy has been championed by lots of great bands and musicians including Beck, Mudhoney and Kurt Cobain and more recently by Eddie Vedder and The White Stripes. Even with that praise Billy has been largely ignored by the music press in this country which is really surprising as he has now released over 120 albums.1. The Buff Medways - Archive From 1959

Solid Selection Of Songs By The Band's Career, Including Go Now, Nights In White Satin, Never Comes The Day, Gypsy, I Never Thought I'd Live To Be A Hundred, I'm Just A Singer (In A Rock 'n Roll Band) And Many More
The Moody Blues formed in the early 1960s in Erdington, Birmingham, England. Ray Thomas, John Lodge, and Michael Pinder had been members of El Riot & the Rebels. They disbanded when Lodge went to college and Pinder joined the army. The pair recruited guitarist/vocalist Denny Laine, band manager-turned drummer Graeme Edge, and bassist Clint Warwick. The five appeared as the Moody Blues for the first time in Birmingham in 1964.
It was the single, Go Now (released later that year), which launched their career. The single became a huge hit in the U.K. and landed the number 1 spot in the charts. The band soon realised that their style of R&B-derived rock and pop was not working for them and decided to develop an original new style, featuring the symphonic sounds of the mellotron and Ray Thomas' flute.
Assigned to make a rock and roll version of Antonin Dvorák's New World Symphony, Moody Blues insisted that they be given artistic freedom and be left without supervision. The result was Days of Future Passed (1967), which combined the band's tracks with orchestral interludes arranged and conducted by Peter Knight. The album plus two singles, Nights in White Satin and Tuesday Afternoon, became substantial hits.
Their follow-up album was In Search of the Lost Chord (1968). The album was again a big success with hits as Ride My See-Saw and Voices in the Sky. Their next album On a Threshold of a Dream (1969) featured the sensitive ballad Never Comes a Day and was their first number 1 album in the U.K.
The band's music continued to become more complex and symphonic, resulting in 1969's To Our Children's Children's Children, a concept album. It closes with the fan-favorite Watching and Waiting. To Our Children's Children's Children was also the first release of the group's own founded label, Threshold Records.
Released in 1981, Long Distance Voyager was a success, reaching number 1 on Billboard and top 5 in the U.K. The album featured the hit, The Voice, written by Hayward.
The remaining Moody Blues trio continues to tour and to this day the Moody Blues are one of classic rock's most enduring institutions, with world-wide sales of nearly 80 million albums and a following that continues to support the band. COLLECTED by Moody Blues is a careful selection of the distinctive sound of the band, presenting the different periods the band has gone through.LP 1

The Ladder is a synthesis of the best traits of the experimental Fragile era and the pop-oriented 90125 era. Producer Bruce Fairbairn completed The Ladder shortly before his death in 1999, and unlike some of his work with Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Kiss, and others, he didn't overproduce it. Vocalist Jon Anderson, lead guitarist Steve Howe, and bass guitarist Chris Squire all have fine moments, and drummer Alan White is consistent. The roles of keyboardist Igor Khoroshev and, in particular, guitarist Billy Sherwood are less clear. It occasionally seems the purpose of Khoroshev's keyboards is providing a variety of sonic textures instead of functioning as a lead instrument. Sherwood's second guitar tends to flesh out the sound. Homeworld (The Ladder) is a tight band performance, but the supple vocals/acoustic guitar/piano coda is the best part. Howe's bouncy acoustic guitar drives Lightning Strikes, yet the biggest surprise is the addition of a horn section. The energetic Face to Face is the strongest track, and Squire lets loose with a sputtering bassline. If Only You Knew is a sweet, straightforward love song Anderson wrote for his wife. The Messenger has a smooth, funky feel -- a remarkable feat considering prog rock is usually considered the whitest rock genre. New Language is the best long song on The Ladder, thanks to a clever arrangement giving all six members an opportunity to demonstrate their talents.1. Homeworld (The Ladder)

Even in the weird, quirky world of new wave and post-punk in the late '70s, the B-52's' eponymous debut stood out as an original. Unabashed kitsch mavens at a time when their peers were either vulgar or stylish, the Athens quintet celebrated all the silliest aspects of pre-Beatles pop culture -- bad hairdos, sci-fi nightmares, dance crazes, pastels, and anything else that sprung into their minds -- to a skewed fusion of pop, surf, avant-garde, amateurish punk, and white funk. On paper, it sounds like a cerebral exercise, but it played like a party.
The jerky, angular funk was irresistibly danceable, winning over listeners dubious of Kate Pierson and Cindy Wilson's high-pitched, shrill close harmonies and Fred Schneider's campy, flamboyant vocalizing, pitched halfway between singing and speaking. It's all great fun, but it wouldn't have resonated throughout the years if the group hadn't written such incredibly infectious, memorable tunes as Planet Claire, Dance This Mess Around, and, of course, their signature tune, Rock Lobster. These songs illustrated that the B-52's' adoration of camp culture wasn't simply affectation -- it was a world view capable of turning out brilliant pop singles and, in turn, influencing mainstream pop culture. It's difficult to imagine the endless kitschy retro fads of the '80s and '90s without the B-52's pointing the way, but The B-52's isn't simply an historic artifact -- it's a hell of a good time.1. Who Came First (Half-Speed Master)Import
Limited Edition Heavyweight 180-Gram White Vinyl
Remastered At Abbey Road With Half-Speed Mastering Process
This 1972 release was the first release by Pete Townshend outside of The Who. The album is a collection of music dedicated to Meher Baba, Townshend's spiritual master and follows on from the private pressings of 'Happy Birthday' another devotional album which Townshend put together to celebrate the first anniversary of the passing of Baba and its follow up 'I Am'. 'Who Came First' came about because of the bootlegging of these albums and Decca in the States pushing for an official release. In response Townshend decided to release a new album, with Decca promising $1 of every sale going towards Baba projects. The resultant album exposes Townshend's spiritual enlightenment and sees him perform with fellow Baba followers, including Ronnie Lane and Billy Nicholls.
The album includes Townshend's versions of Who Classics 'Let's See Action' and the sublime opener 'Pure and Easy' as well as cover versions of songs which were Baba favourites. The album closes with the epic 'Parvadigar', a rendition of Meher Baba's Universal Prayer, set to music by PeteTownshend.1. Pure and Easy

Music On Vinyl proudly presents a second release of the COLLECTED albums. The new albums will focus on memorable artists with almost a life span of original intriguing music, covering a timeless musical period!
In the early 1950s a man of short stature attempts to win over his audience. With a hoarse voice he delivers songs that do not catch on. People jeer at him. Tomatoes fly through the air. The Frenchman with Armenian roots slinks off the stage, but does not quit.
Ironically, the song that makes him a household name is the song in which he recalls his agonising trial. The audience reacted indifferently when Charles Aznavour decided to try out his new song on stage. But when he went on to greet the audience for one final time they all stood and gave him a thundering standing ovation.
In the sixties, hits and classics succeed one another. Nobody is bothered any more by his husky voice, by his small stature or his rugged characterful face. The croony For Me Formidable (1963), the heart breaking Et Pourtant (1963) and the nostalgic Hier Encore (1964) confirm his standing as a fan favourite. La Bohème (1965) and Emmenez-moi (1967) turn Aznavour into a superstar.
In La Bohème, there are impressionist painters strolling in the shadows of the SacrÉ-Coeur, the compelling Comme Ils Dissent (1972) is the first chanson after Vichy France to overtly endorse homo sexuality and in the present France Of La Manif Pour Tous (the movement that opposes gay marriage), does it again to sound particularly topical. Camarade (1977) was about the nomenklatura, the ruling elite in the Soviet Union and is a social and historical topic. Avec Un Brin De Nostalgie is an Aznavour grand cru, maybe even the best he has made over the last thirty years.
COLLECTED by Charles Aznavour is a wonderful collection of hits and classic by the French artist that touches your soul at every moment. It's an overview of his work during the sixties, seventies and duets with Johnny Hallyday on Il Faut Savoir and with Frank Sinatra Young At Heart. Also his English versions of How Sad Venice Can Be, The Old Fashioned Way, She and four more English songs are included on this deluxe Trifold 3LP album.LP 1

Live At The Isle of Wight Festival 1970Import
White Colored Vinyl
Live at the Isle of Wight Festival 1970 is a 3 LP live album by The Who, recorded at the Isle of Wight Festival on 29 August 1970, and released by Sony in 1996. The Who were one year and three months into their Tommy tour when they played their second engagement at the Isle of Wight Festival. As in 1969, they played most of their famous rock opera, which by this time was quite familiar to the festival crowd. Huge spotlights bathed the audience of some 600,000 attendees, and as The Who's tour manager John Woolf recalls, attracted every moth and flying nocturnal animal on the island. By August 1970, Pete Townshend was already introducing new songs to the setlist including Water, I Don't Even Know Myself and Naked Eye. These songs, which were being recorded at the time of the festival, were intended for an upcoming project known as Lifehouse. Although Lifehouse was eventually abandoned, the sessions paved the way to the Who's classic album Who's Next. The Who also performed some live staples such as Heaven and Hell, Substitute, My Generation, Magic Bus, I Can't Explain, and the perennial covers of Shakin' All Over and Summertime Blues.LP1
