World Wide Live'
World Wide Live180 Gram Double LP
Since the Scorpions' career was at its peak, World Wide Live could not have been recorded at a better time. This album contains all of their early-'80s hits, and while they aren't as energetic on-stage as they are in the studio, the band still perform with a great amount of flamboyance. The record is the Scorpions' only worthwhile live album and is a must for their fans.
Recorded in California, France, and West Germany during 1984's Love at First Sting Tour, World Wide Live captures Scorpions at the indisputable peak of their career. Propelled by the crossover success of "Rock You Like a Hurricane," Scorpions were playing the biggest shows of their life but hadn't yet lost their early hunger. The most crucial aspect of this kind of live album is the sound. After all, it's extremely hard to retain a metal band's cohesive attack when recording in cavernous sports arenas. Fortunately, Scorpions worked with their longtime engineer Dieter Dierks, who was able to maintain a sound quality that was full-bodied and very realistic.
These recordings are rare among concert albums in that they somehow translate both the largeness of the venues and the tightly wound attack of the music. Highlights include "Blackout," "Bad Boys Running Wild," and "Holiday." "Rock You Like a Hurricane" sounds like it was written specifically for this type of venue, and by the time you reach that performance, you start to understand the additional juice these songs are given in the live setting.1. The World Is Real (Awaiting Repress)LAKE's comprehensive pop vision has always been anchored in an honest mournfulness, a sensitivity to nature, and the vulnerability of life. These mark
LAKE's more down tempo, contemplative grooves, which are given their fullest voice yet on The World Is Real, LAKE's fourth album for K and sixth overall.
It follows 2008's Oh, the Places We'll Go, 2009's Let's Build A Roof, and 2011's Giving & Receiving, and was similarly recorded at Dub Narcotic Studio at K headquarters in their hometown of Olympia, Washington.
The songwriting partnership of Ashley Eriksson and Eli Moore is the locus of LAKE's creative engine, but the additional members are as integral and
longstanding. They are the diversely talented Andrew Dorsett, Markly Morisson, and Lindsay Schief. The creative sound that surrounds LAKE is storied in collaboration, sonic adventure and an allegiance to exploring the limits of crafting pop songs. They have toured, recorded and allied with some of the most pioneering figures in contemporary independent music: R. Stevie Moore, Chris Cohen, Karl Blau, and Phil Elverum's Mt. Eerie, for example.
Lead track Do You Recall? offers wide and subtle nods to working-class 80's classics like Mellencamp's Jack & Diane, or Hornsby's The Way It Is. Featuring drum machine and nostalgic guitar riffs, the lead and group vocals float through droning synths like wind to a bounded world.
Dog in the Desert one of the album's centerpieces, was initially inspired by the text-works of conceptual artist, Richard Long, and his "art made by walking in landscapes" (richardlong.org). Eriksson's voice, and the dark plodding instrumentation of the song, take Long's images and shape them into a meditation on abandonment, loss and reconciliation with nature.
Tellingly, the earthbound bass groove on Dog in the Desert is a quotation of Steely Dan's Black Cow. It is not the only song to directly live sample Fagen and Becker: Perfect Fit mashes up the chordal rhythms of Peg to excellent effect.
It's clear that LAKE enjoys to boldly tread and rework the classics in this way, most notably in Mark Morrison's first personal LAKE offering Takin' My Time, a direct reference to the Isley Brothers song "Caravan of Love." This smooth R&B pop seducer - a wild crowd favorite at LAKE's local Olympia outings - is a bit of an aside from The World Is Real's more meditative core.
Other highlights on The World Is Real: Bury the House takes its 60's styled psychedelic setting for a playful, self-deprecating riff on LAKE's own new age-y ideals: Bury the house / under the garden / make an attempt to go outside. Composure and "I Wish For You" have the pop attributes of Pet Sounds and Smile era Beach Boys - faintly forlorn, but still warm and sweet. And the community oriented compassion exhibited by LAKE's members is beautifully summarized in the opening lines of album closer Reconcile: How do we exist under the sun
but not in bliss? / What could have been? / Act on it.
Lovers of hybrid pop will hear the bright whirring electronic keys that notably set McCartney II apart from the rest of Paul's catalog, as well as the bittersweet organ and keyboard influence of Yo La Tengo, and the minimalist funk of Talking Heads on
this record. However, precise comparison is difficult: The World is Real avoids easy genre comparisons. An album full of the articulation of discontent and loss, LAKE captures these emotions in tandem with the pop music joys they have so expertly reigned in for many years.1. Do You Recall?

The Blues World Of Little WalterLittle Walter cut eight tracks for the short-lived Parkway label, with Muddy Waters as a sideman (and ensemble vocalist). These sides convinced Chess to record the full Waters band. We fill out the album with other session by Waters-connected artists to give a picture of the Chicago blues scene just before the Chess sound took over. Hours were spent cleaning up the disk-to-tapes of the Walter sides (which had been widely bootlegged with surface noise). The studio tapes of the other tracks were clean. Marvelous and historic music now available again on LP with the original cover painting by Jeanette Walzak and liner notes by Jim O'Neal.

Shine On Rainy DayOut on Low Country Sounds/Elektra Records, Shine On Rainy Day was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, etc.) and recorded live over four days in Nashville.
Of the music and working with producer (and cousin) Dave Cobb, Brent comments, "It's not as good as it's going to get. But if it's the last thing that I ever do, if I died the day after it came out, then thank God I was able to record it because the songs and the production, it was everything I wanted to say. Finally."
Dave adds, "I wanted to work with Brent for very selfish reasons. When he lifts a pen and opens his mouth, it sounds like home. I did his record because he's part of the fabric of South Georgia and the soundtrack to my family. Pure rural country soul filled music."
Already receiving notice, Brent was recently featured on WXPN's World CafÉ (listen to the full session here), while Rolling Stone featured him as one of their "30 Must-See Acts" at CMA Fest 2016, asserting, "Live, he's every bit the charming raconteur, setting up catchy rural anthems that have the loose and earthy feel of a front porch sing-along."
Additionally, earlier this year, Brent was featured on Dave's widely praised Southern Family compilation-contributing the song "Down Home" and writing the standout "Sweet By & By," which was recorded by Miranda Lambert. Of "Down Home," Wide Open Country declares, " one of the most earnest and accurate retellings of everyday life in rural Georgia. The mixture of Cobb's charming southern drawl, brilliant storytelling and flawless production melds into a track that is impossible to resist."
Born in Ellaville, GA (population 1,609), Brent moved to Nashville in 2008 and has since found widespread success as a writer with songs recorded by Lambert ("Old Shit"), Kenny Chesney ("Don't It"), Luke Bryan ("Tailgate Blues"), David Nail ("Grandpa's Farm"), Kellie Pickler ("Rockaway") and Eli Young Band ("Go Outside and Dance") among others.1. Age Of ParanoiaVitamin X has been creating and touring their energetic brand of rock and thrash-soaked hardcore punk since the late 1990s, operating through die-hard DIY channels. The Amsterdam-based band has amassed an arsenal of albums, EPs, singles, splits, and more across a wide array of underground labels, including Havoc Records, Tankcrimes, Underestimated, AgiPunk, Refuse Records, and many others. Their two most recent albums were recorded by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Iggy Pop, Neurosis). Age Of Paranoia, the latest chapter in the band's lineage, was recorded by Igor Wouters at ARC Studios in Amsterdam and includes several special guest guitar solos by J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr., Witch) and Bubba Dupree (Void, Soundgarden, Dave Grohl's Probot, Brant Bjork).
Age Of Paranoia offers sixteen volatile tracks, packed into a succinct, white-knuckled twenty-eight minutes. The album surges with rapid-fire punk angst, replete with ripping rock leads and raised-fist, group-chanting anthems. To complete the recording, the cover artwork is created by Marald (Baroness, Kylesa, High On Fire).
Well-known for their energetic and frenetic live shows which attract fans from across the metal, punk, and rock spectrums, Vitamin X has toured around the world several times, from Japan to the United States, from South America to Southeast Asia, and beyond. The band has played on MTV and many large festivals including Hellfest, Maryland Deathfest, and many others, and recently toured with Baroness and Harley Flannagan's Cro-Mags. Vitamin X will be presenting their new songs for the first time at festivals and shows throughout 2018; check out some live dates below and expect further updates throughout the year.$13.99Vinyl LP - Sealed Buy Now
Along The WayFrom the mid-western underground consciousness, guitarist/producer Mark McGuire
emerges with his forthcoming 2014 Dead Oceans debut Along the Way. The conceptual
album details the inner journey of an individual seeking definition and enlightenment. For
those following McGuire's musical ascent thus far, the record is a culmination of a prodigious
and prolific artist.
Playing with a wide variety of instruments and styles on Along the Way, McGuire presents his
unique vision of modern psychedelia. Using electric and acoustic guitars, a Talkbox, drum
machines, a mandolin and lots in between, McGuire conducts a sonic exploration of the
inner self. "This story is an odyssey through the vast, unknown regions of the mind," he
explains in the liner notes," The endless unfolding of psychological landscapes, leading to
perpetual discoveries and expansions, in a genuinely emergent and infinite world of worlds."
Mark McGuire first came to national attention as part of Cleveland's drone collective
Emeralds, a band that single handedly created a paradigm shift toward the meditative in an
era of underground music best known for noise and chaos. Their albums for the Editions
Mego, No Fun and Hanson labels, among others, remain treasured to a generation of tape
collecting misfits. Over the course of many independent and self-releases the individual
members of the band exhibited their solo material from their earliest days. McGuire's first
solo release in 2006 showcased a natural affinity for melody, slowly disintegrating loops and
composition. When he kept audiences spellbound with live performances of his material it
made believers of concertgoers across the world. By 2009 his solo debut album Living With
Yourself was garnering praise from press and audiences alike. McGuire as a solo performer
made a direct connection with fans through his hypnotic playing, becoming more complex
in its dynamics and phrasings. The album's 2011 follow up Get Lost furthered the guitarist's
palate to include a sun-bleached digital effect. The music continually grew over itself as delays
decayed and new ones took their place, each layer revealing colors and sunspots, reflecting the
expanse of roads traveled.
The last few years have found McGuire touring with friends like Ducktails as well as
performing as a fifth member of the legendary Afghan Whigs, collaborating with artists like
Ponytail's Dustin Wong and releasing his own R&B influenced Road Chief project. 2014 will
bring more touring, more collaborations, more videos and media; expanding horizons that

BADBADNOTGOOD is a young supremely talented trio of musicians made
up of Matthew Tavares on keys, Chester Hansen on bass, and Alex Sowinski on
drums. Since their inception at Humber College's Music Performance program
in 2011, the three have challenged the rule book on improvised instrumental
music and taken jazz tradition into the future.
With early champions including acclaimed BBC broadcaster Gilles Peterson
and Tyler The Creator who helped fuel their discovery with a series of live jams
that instantly went viral and dubbed them the "Odd Trio", the band released
their first EP BBNG in June 2011 to wide praise. The marriage of jazz virtuosity
and hip hop source material offered a fresh take on the traditional "standard"
applied to hip hop classics by taking on choice cuts from the golden era rap
cannon and writing inspired arrangements for them instead of one-dimensional
The band hit a landmark by introducing original material into their compositions with BBNG2 in 2012. New songs like "Rotten Decay", "Vices" or "UWM"
carried on the proud heritage of musical juxtaposition by bringing together jazz,
hip hop, punk, and dance music into vigorous balance. Since then, they've won
praise from the four corners of the globe and collaborated with Frank Ocean,
Earl Sweatshirt, MF Doom, Pharaoh Monch and RZA among many. Their notorious live performances have brought fans across the whole musical spectrum
together, taking the band around the world from Coachella to Glastonbury.
Now, the inseparable friends are prepping to release their biggest project to date

OpeningFor years, I've imagined the work I do in music, photography, and video all coming into one space, says music-tech guru Christopher Willits from his home in San Francisco. It's an ambition that many musicians have aspired to, but nonetheless seems especially befitting of a worldly polymath like Willits. I believe that sound and light, when used intentionally, have the power to transform and inspire our imaginations, he continues. I believe that art has an ability to awaken our connection to everything. And that is exactly what he has set out to do with OPENING, the veteran Ghostly artist's immersive new audio-visual project.
Across seven tracks of widescreen ambient music, 45 minutes of visuals shot over four years in multiple countries, seven bespoke photographs, and a multi-sensory live performance, Willits has conceived and produced something which might better be thought of as an experience than a simple album. Of course, OPENING does feature Willits' latest music since Ancient Future, his 2012 collaboration with Japanese pianist Ryuichi Sakamoto, and the vibrant, enveloping sounds we've come to expect from him are on full display. The quiet majesty of Vision ushers us into the sacred world Willits created, a living universe which billows and heaves in the corners of slow-grooving songs like CLEAR and CONNECT or the
textural minutiae and harmonic subtleties in GROUND. Closing out the album, WIDE and RELEASE o!er the listener a gentle comedown through 15 cumulative minutes of transcendent audio, with Willits' delicate guitar manipulations breathing life into the aether of prickly atmospheres and soft-glowing synths.
The other integral facet to the experience of OPENING is Willits' visual work. After building a library of footage and images from his travels around California, Hawaii, Japan, and Thailand, Willits will unveil for the first time a portion of his videos as an abstract film, the seven scenes of which each correspond with a song and photo from the album. The
45-minute piece uses music and a first-person perspective to tell what Willits calls a very ambiguous story, much in the vein of ground-breaking experimental films Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka. Taken as a whole, OPENING is unlike anything Willits has accomplished before, and maybe that's because the audio-visual project is about expanding one's mind to become something new. Or, as Willits puts it, OPENING is about transformation, the experience of changing oneself to be more of who you know you can be, and, ultimately, the joy that comes with that change.1. Vision

Give Me Convenience Or Give Me DeathRemastered And Available In A Deluxe Gatefold Sleeve
Track for track and album after album, the Dead Kennedys were the most relentlessly political and controversial stateside punk rock band to gain much public notoriety. Originally released in 1987, Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death collects 17 of the band's singles, compilation tracks, and rarities spanning the eight years they played together.
This is a wide and deep collection of favorites like California Über Alles and Holiday in Cambodia, but the real reason to pick up this disc is the more obscure and rare material. From 1979, Night of the Living Rednecks has hyperactive mouthpiece Jello Biafra relating a tale of being chased by irate rednecks while the rhythm sections jams. Their version of I Fought the Law rewrites it into a true-to-life murder ballad, while rippers like Life Sentence, Insight, Pull My Strings and Straight A's are off the map unless you were lucky enough to pick up the original singles or compilations that they're pulled from. And Kinky Sex Makes the World Go 'Round is Biafra at his sarcastic best, as he tells of one corporate head instructing another on the economic necessity of a new war. The DKs were a truly important and relevant band, and Give Me Convenience provides 17 livid reasons why. Boy, could we use them now. -- Carl Hanni1. Police Truck

The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The HeartIt was the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil that launched the ascent of their native sons in SEPULTURA (Portuguese for "grave") in 1983 with a trajectory unsuspectingly aimed at the worldwide metal music scene. A band with humble economic beginnings whose musical identity was forged in the context of living through Brazil's authoritarian military dictatorship, SEPULTURA would go on to become Brazilian ambassadors to the metal world, revered master architects of the death/thrash genre, and the most successful heavy metal band from the Federal Republic of Brazil.
When SEPULTURA experienced a line-up change in the mid-1990s that was widely covered by the metal press around the world, remaining members recruited American Derrick Green in 1997 to front the band, a position the Cleveland, Ohio native has held for the past fifteen years and counting. This past June, long-time guitarist Andreas Kisser (who joined in1987), original bassist Paulo Jr., and drum prodigy Eloy Casagrande, SEPULTURA entered the studio in Venice, California with renowned producer Ross Robinson (KORN, MACHINE HEAD, FEAR FACTORY) - who also worked on the band's landmark 1996 release, »Roots« - and co-producer Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SYMPHONY X, INCANTATION) - who previously worked on SEPULTURA's »Roorback« (2003), the »Revolusongs« EP (2002), and »Nation« (2001) - to record the band's seventh studio album with Green (and their second album for Nuclear Blast): »The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart«, scheduled for release this October.
Inspired by Austrian filmmaker Fritz Lang's classic 1927 movie "Metropolis," SEPULTURA leans heavily on the strength of their thrash metal influences to make a statement against the dehumanizing effects of technology. Guitarist Andreas Kisser delves a little deeper:
"In the movie, a crazy millionaire wants to transform a robot into a real person. That's kind of the opposite of what we live today. More than ever, we are robotized through the worldwide web, Google glasses, chips under our skins and globalized slavery our society suffers nowadays. Being that the novel was written in the early 1920s, it's almost prophetical. The phrase that inspired me - the main message of the story - points to the heart as being the human factor that keeps a man a man - not a robot. The heart beats with freedom of choice. We have to think for ourselves to create a real world, not a matrix."
Exploring the miseries and privileges associated with technological power, »The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart« - SEPULTURA's angry dystopian documentary in sonic form - also addresses the chaotic aftermath of natural disasters, the unfulfilled promises of religion, and the still-widening divide & unbridgeable gap between pampered citizens who live in decadent luxury and the working poor who withstand unbearable living & working conditions to simply survive.
The album's opening track, 'Trauma Of War', begins as a cacophony of noise that gives rise to an urgent panic that spins into a paranoiac distress about others making decisions that will lead to our demise in war. In 'The Vatican', we listen as yearning souls pray to their god to alleviate their suffering as the furious vocals, guitars, and drums document the moment when the faithful come face-to-face with the reality of their absent god too self-absorbed with being adored to notice humanity's cries for help. 'The Bliss Of Ignorants' is an indictment by those who intimately know the depths of human suffering against those who don't wish to know. 'Grief' weeps with its gnosis of such a feared emotion. With so many recent natural disasters throughout the world, who could deny the truth behind human greed & corruption sung about in 'Manipulation Of Tragedy'?
With both the 2014 FIFA World Cup championship and the 2016 Olympic Games headed to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, a worldwide audience will surely be mesmerized by the glamour surrounding these world-broadcasted events. But there are those who bear witness to what won't be televised; there are those who have seen the decades of daily strife of Brazilian citizens with wide-open eyes.
»The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart« never lacks confidence in what SEPULTURA knows: "I live in São Paulo, one of the big metropolises in the world with more than 20 million people living and working in it," asserts Kisser. "I know how it is to live in daily chaos. Our music reflects a lot of that feeling."
Featuring a guest appearance by former SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo, »The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart« does what many great albums do: it captures a moment in time and carves out a place to have a dialogue with listeners with an honesty that rings so true, it becomes a part of our arsenal with which to defend ourselves against the wrongdoings of the world.1. Bob Dylan In Concert: Brandeis University 1963Last Known Archival Recording of Dylan Before He Became a Star
Professionally Recorded on 7-Inch Reel-to-Reel Tape: Phenomenal Sonics Capture the 21-Year-Old Bard Solo and Acoustic
Features Stripped-Down, Intense Versions of Songs from the Then-Forthcoming The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan and Still Long-Off The Times They Are-A Changin'
Early, archival insights into the burgeoning genius of a young Bob Dylan don't come any better than this: A previously unknown live recording of a 21-year-old Dylan taped at the Brandeis First Annual Folk Festival in Waltham, Massachusetts, on May 10, 1963, Bob Dylan In Concert - Brandeis University 1963 captures the rollicking wit, deadpan delivery, and driving intensity of the young artist's onstage persona in an assortment of end-of-the-world songs (none of them commercially available at the time) performed in front of an appreciative audience two weeks prior to the release of The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan. Indeed, these two performances took place just weeks before Dylan's Blowin' in the Wind became a smash for Peter, Paul, and Mary and months before his appearance at the Newport Folk Festival would forever change the course of music history.
The Bob Dylan In Concert - Brandeis University 1963 concert tape was discovered recently in the archives of the noted music writer and Rolling Stone co-founder Ralph J. Gleason, where it sat on a shelf for more than forty years. It had been forgotten, until it was found last year in the clearing of the house after my mother died, said Toby Gleason, Ralph's son. It's a seven inch reel-to-reel that sounds like it was taped from the mixing desk.
Drawn from two sets that spring night at the Brandeis Folk Festival, tracks on Bob Dylan In Concert - Brandeis University 1963 include Honey, Just Allow Me On More Chance (incomplete), Talkin' John Birch Paranoid Blues, Ballad Of Hollis Brown, Masters of War, Talkin' World War III Blues, Bob Dylan's Dream, and Talkin' Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues.
Previously available as a limited time offer, Bob Dylan In Concert - Brandeis University 1963 has been reissued in response to overwhelming popular demand for a wide release. The new Columbia/Legacy edition features liner notes penned exclusively for this release by noted Bob Dylan scholar Michael Gray, author of The Bob Dylan Encyclopedia and the three-volume Song & Dance Man: The Art of Bob Dylan, who provided an explication of the album's seven songs and historical/cultural context for the performances.1. An Ancient ObserverNonesuch Records releases its second album from pianist Tigran Hamasyan, An Ancient Observer, in 2017. An Ancient Observer is the follow-up to Hamasyan's label debut, Mockroot, of which the Guardian said, A phenomenal piano player, an irrepressible entertainer, a promising experimenter with hi-tech gizmology and a creative world-music composer. Mockroot plays vivaciously to all those strengths. The musician says of his new solo recording, which features ten new compositions: These songs are musical observations about the world we live in now, and the weight of history we carry with us.
An Ancient Observer's songs-two of which are based on Armenian melodies-were written over the last four years. Some of the pieces are through-composed and completely written out, while others are composed with ample space for Hamasyan to improvise. Many include vocals layered into the mix. As with most of his compositions, Hamasyan cites a wide range of influences, from Baroque dance to hip-hop, with pedals connected to a synthesizer on a few tracks-while the sounds of his native country also are present, as always.
Hamasyan has returned to Armenia, where his daily life inspired these new pieces: I gaze out of my window and see the biblical mountain Ararat with perpetual snow on its peak, with electrical towers with wires in the foreground cutting the picture, and satellite dishes melted onto old and modern houses-ancestral smoke coming out of their chimneys-and birds hovering above the trees along with occasional airplane trails in the vast sky. It is a dialogue, this interaction of God-given ancient nature with our modern human achievements, he says. For me it is an awakening, and a beautiful feeling, to be able to observe the magnificence of this sleeping volcanic giant, which has existed for millions of years and was observed by the Ararat Valley Koura-Arax culture through to the present day citizens of the Armenian republic. I can see and observe the same birds, animals, rivers, and mountains that the craftsman of 4,000 years ago painted on a clay vessel. He was observing the same thing I observe now, and what remains is his or her beautiful work of art.1. Markos and Markos

It's Not The Eat, It's The HumidityThe Alternative Tentacles Reissues of Necessity is back! We've hooked another live one from the swirling depths of the most obscure, desirable, and just plain deranged.
Like many early punk pioneers The Eat operated in a near-total vacuum, in that infamous cesspool of clueless retirees and moronic sun worshippers known as South Florida. Forming in 1978 and playing their first show in July of 1979, it took another year before they were able to record. Their classic 7s were rare and sought after from the moment they came out, distribution was nil, most were given away at shows and crushed on the spot, some even wound up lining a parrot cage. The result is that their 7-inches Communist Radio and God Punishes the Eat are some of the most sought after and obscenely expensive Killed By Death items ever!
Sure the limited/mangled pressings helped, but the band's twisted angle on the world has a lot to do with the value placed on their early vinyl. Specifically: political concerns like Communist Radio, Nut Cops, Kneecappin' and Nixon's Binoculars. Environmental awareness like Manatee Smacker, M-80 Ant Death, and Living Like a Pig, as well as numerous celebrations of that seedy Florida lifestyle like Catholic Love, Silly Drug Songs, Money for the Police and Psychotic McHale's Navy.
The Eat reappeared sporadically clear through the mid-'90s, yet still seem unaware how wide their cult and notoriety has spread, especially among people who've never actually heard them. There's a lot of information packed into this package to help those latter folks out, in full color!
Both early 7s are here, the audio dropouts in the five God Punishes songs fixed up at last, followed by the entire Scattered Wahoo Action cassette album and all the unreleased songs from their aborted Hialeah album that was chopped down to their third and final seven inch. Sound is top-floor melodic punk 'n' roll - sort of a sped-up Real Kids with rock-bottom Angry Samoans-style lyrics. Disc One's a whopping 30+ studio tracks, many never before released.LP1

Bright PhoebusThe First Time This 1972 Masterpiece Has Been Widely Available On LP
Remastered From The Original Tapes
Originally released in 1972, Bright Phoebus combined the incredible songwriting of siblings Lal & Mike from folk revival group The Watersons. Moving on from, but not forgetting their folk roots, the album is a post psychedelic collection of songs recorded in a 'loose & anarchic'fashion in Cecil Sharpe House with a folk-rock super group numbering Richard Thompson,Norma Waterson, Maddy Prior, Martin Carthy & Ashley Hutchings. Its release was greeted with derision and its initial pressing of 2000 LPs has long since fallen out of print. Since then the album has become legend, its scarcity not hindering generations of music fans falling for its beguiling atmosphere.
Over the course of four decades, the only means of hearing Lal and Mike Waterson's 1972 folk noir masterpiece had been unofficial CDs, cassettes distributed between fans and, in more recent times, YouTube uploads. And yet, despite the relative obscurity of the record being celebrated, 2000 people had packed London's The Barbican to witness live performance sof these songs by an extended family of Watersons, Carthys and kindred musical spirits. Toofolk to be embraced by the rock world, yet not traditional enough for the folk clubs where performing original material was tantamount to heresy, Bright Phoebus has had to wait an awfully long time for its moment of reappraisal. Almost by stealth, however, that moment seems to have arrived. In a Mojo chart of the 50 greatest British eccentric albums of all time, the album sat proudly among household names such as Kate Bush and Pink Floyd. In 2007, Bright Phoebus was the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary and Lal was the subject of a tribute concert which was televised by BBC2. With every passing year, its influence on generations of musicians who had yet to be born when it was released grows ever greater.
This release will be the first time that the album will be widely available. Under the supervision of David Suff (Topic/Fledling) & Mary Waterson (daughter of Lal), the album has been remastered from the original master tapes. It's tempting to say that it was a record ahead of its time, but actually, Bright Phoebus is a record that exists outside of its time. A journey into a world where beauty and hardship are intertwined: a world of pagan sacrifice and stillborn children; a world where fairytale endings are frustrated by the demands of mere survival; where even the visiting magical man passing through the town seems to carry with him a faint air of menace.1. Redeemer Of SoulsCLASSIC JUDAS PRIEST METAL ON THE WAY WITH THEIR 17TH ALBUM 'REDEEMER OF SOULS'
There are only a select number of bands that have accomplished what Judas Priest has throughout their career (as well as having served as a stylistic influence on such a wide variety of bands). Soon the group - singer Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton and Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis - will be offering up more classic Judas Priest metal with the release of 'Redeemer of Souls'
'Redeemer of Souls' is Judas Priest's latest collection of epic metal - raising the bar is consistent for us and 'Redeemer' hits the ground running - it matches up perfectly to earlier Priest classics as evidenced by the album's leadoff single 'March of the Damned'
(we are forging ahead, slamming the pedal to the metal!) - the band mean business once again.
We feel 'Redeemer of Souls' reinforces our passion for what we believe in from the Judas Priest style heavy metal. The album also marks Richie Faulkner's studio debut with Priest and is the co-writer of the material along with Glenn Tipton and Rob Halford.
First bursting onto the scene with 1974's 'Rocka Rolla' Judas Priest is responsible for some of heavy metal's all-time great albums - 1980's 'British Steel', 1982's 'Screaming for Vengeance', 1990's 'Painkiller' etc - and anthems 'Breaking the Law', 'Living After Midnight', 'You've Got Another Thing Coming' etc - as well as trailblazing metal's now instantly identifiable look - leather and studs - 2014 marks the 40th anniversary of the band.
And while fans are undoubtedly starved for more Priest (their last studio album 'Nostradamus' was released in 2008) the band themselves are eager for the world to hear their latest studio triumph. Classic combination of all the statements we love to create with raging guitar riffs and solos, thundering drums, thick grooves of bass and vocals tearing it all up!LP 1

Jaco Pastorius was widely acknowledged for his skills as an electric bass player. He died in 1987 at age 35 following a violent incident at a Fort Lauderdale drinking establishment.
This self-titled album was Pastorius' solo debut and was originally released in 1976. As living legend Pat Metheny puts it in the liner notes on one of the re-issues of Pastorius' albums:
Jaco Pastorius may well have been the last jazz musician of the 20th century to have made a major impact on the musical world at large. Everywhere you go you hear Jaco's sound; from the latest TV commercial to bass players of all stripes copping his licks on recordings of all styles, from news broadcasts to famous rock and roll bands, from hip hop samples to personal tribute records, you hear the echoes of that unmistakable sound everywhere.1. GlowIf all music tells a story, then Royal Teeth's joyous, inspired songs spin an exuberant tale of possibility, each note conveying the youthful excitement of venturing out into the great wide world. The songs on the band's debut album, Glow, were penned around the idea of exploration and spirited adventures into the unknown, and its 12 tracks lay out a kaleidoscopic narrative of discovery.
The group came together in 2010 with Gary, Josh W, Poe, Josh H and Stevie, friends from all across Louisiana who'd gravitated to one another during their early days playing out in New Orleans. It was with the discovery of Nora, the last piece of the puzzle, that the band began to truly hone in on what would become their sound. The aim was to have fun, with no master plan for the music at the outset. As they began to experiment, it became clear that the synthesizers they'd been playing around with elevated their effusive indie pop songs and best conveyed the buoyancy and levity of being young and anxious for the world to open up for you.
"The album is really about finding yourself," said Nora who, as the visual artist in the group, conveys that cheerful enthusiasm both through the music and the band's striking artwork and graphics.
"We started playing more folk-driven stuff," Gary says. "But once we added the electronic sounds, it changed everything. The music evolved from there and as it did, our vision for the songs became clear."
The group's 5-song debut, Act Naturally, was recorded in Charleston, S.C. in 2011 and was their first foray into the studio. EP in hand, the band set out to tour outside Louisiana, eventually going all-in, quitting their jobs in May of 2012 and hitting the road. These shows, which included CMJ and SXSW and tours with bands as diverse as Fitz and the Tantrums, 2 Skinnee J's and Gold Fields, had a tremendous impact in forming the debut album, Glow.
"We take a lot of pride in our live show," Gary says. "We put everything into it and that's where we make the strongest connections with people. I think when it came to making the record, knew we wanted it to be more raw and capture that live energy. We had been on the road, testing out these new songs, figuring out what's working and what's not working. When you're trying out new songs every night for people that don't know you it plays a big role in shaping the band's vision and our confidence in what makes our music special. That played a huge factor into what we songs we knew we had to put on the record.
The songs on the album, including the single "Wild," were penned over a two year span, some emerging in a burst of activity and inspiration just before the band headed into the studio in Toronto with producer Gavin Brown in February 2013. Nearly 30 song ideas were eventually culled down to an album's worth of material, and the studio time was focused and quick, concluding in only a few weeks. The idea was to harness the band's positive energy into the recordings, ensuring that the vigor the musicians radiate onstage was showcased on the tracks.
"Once we were in the studio, it was a real common energy driving what we wanted," Gary says. "It really does show in the music. Whether the song's a little slower or a little darker, I think there's a common thread in all of them - capturing a moment. I think the music really represents that."
The resulting album is a shimmering collection of indie pop numbers that revel in that idea of being young and wild. The songs vary in tone and aesthetic, but it all ties back to that overarching theme. "Vagabonds," is a soaring, hook-laden tale of escapism, while the prancing "Hold Me" captures that moment before the end of the world. "Wild," the band's current single, contrasts with "We Can Glow," a moody anthem revealing the flipside of the band's live-in-the-now sensibility.
Royal Teeth, who have been featured on Last Call with Carson Daly and seen several songs placed in various TV spots, are really only embarking on their adventure now, with the release of this debut album. Joining forces with the team at Dangerbird Records has enabled them to more fully realize their vision of touring extensively and broadening their own inspired journey. The first chapters of that story are heard in the music, a soundtrack for exploration and discovery, of bursting into a world teeming with possibilities.
"We've learned so much from being on the road," Gary says. "And I think there's so much more to learn. We want to deliver every night, no matter what. We're really just excited for the album to finally come out. We're very excited to offer more than five songs to all of our fans and see where we can go from here."1. Hold Me

Black HoursHamilton Leithauser announces his debut solo album Black Hours via Ribbon Music -
inaugurating a new chapter in an already remarkable career from The Walkmen front man. The album
brings Leithauser full circle and then some, from lonely midwinter piano-and-vocals sessions, to a
loud, live Rock n Roll group and back again. Featuring Leithauser with a slew of talented collaborators
including Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend), Paul Maroon (The Walkmen), Morgan Henderson
(Fleet Foxes) and Richard Swift (The Shins/solo), the album showcases Leithauser at his most
passionate, personal and free.
The video for the first single "Alexandra," which was directed by SXSW Film Festival Grand Jury award
winning director Tristan Patterson. The track was co-written by Hamilton Leithauser and Rostam
Batmanglij, the latter producing and mixing the track.
In its orchestrated rhythms, dynamic vocals, and generous production, Black Hours speaks from one
booming voice. The instrumentation provides muscle and texture: Maroon covering a wide range of
acoustic and electric guitars as well as grand piano; Batmanglij switching between guitar, harpsichord,
piano, bass and harmonica; Morgan Henderson from Fleet Foxes takes the marimba and upright bass,
and Richard Swift lays down impressive drums on seven tracks (Henderson & Swift will be accompanying
Leithauser on a full U.S. tour). Amber Coffman from the Dirty Projectors provides backing vocals on
several numbers and even Hugh McIntosh of Leithauser's first band, the Recoys, returns to the drum
stool for a pair of songs.
Principal recording was done in August 2013 at Vox Studios in Los Angeles, "the oldest private studio in
the world", where Nat King Cole, Bing Crosby, Johnny Mercer, and countless others cut demos before
appearing on air at NBC studios, just across Melrose Ave.1. 5 AM
