Original Moon Records Jacket Art, Complete With The Original MN-100-A/B Matrix Etching

16"x22" Reproduction Of The First Rush Promo Poster

Three 5"x7" Lithographs Of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson And John Rutsey

A 12"x12" Rush Family Tree Poster

In March of 1974, Rush released their self-titled debut through the band's own indie label, Moon Records in Canada, and quickly sold out of the initial 3500 copies originally pressed. Moon Records would soon become Anthem Records, which launched in 1977, and continues to serve as the band's only Canadian record company.

To mark the band's 40-year recording career, Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) will celebrate with the vinyl reissue of the original Moon Records (pre-Mercury) release of Rush, as part of Universal's reDISCovered vinyl series. Housed in a sturdy, custom box with a lift-off top, this landmark album is pressed on 200g, audiophile grade vinyl, from the original 1974 analog stereo masters, cut to copper plates using the Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) process at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Rush also features the original Moon Records jacket art, complete with the original MN-100-A/B Matrix etching, and will include a 16"x22" reproduction of the first Rush promo poster, three 5"x7" lithographs of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and John Rutsey, and a 12"x12" Rush Family Tree poster.

Featuring the band's original line up, Lee, Lifeson and Rutsey, Rush's eponymous 1974 debut features eight hard- hitting rockers including "Finding My Way," the fast-paced "Need Some Love," "Take A Friend," "What You're Doing," the southern rock vibe of "In The Mood," and their U.S. breakthrough anthem "Working Man" which was made famous by Cleveland, Ohio's WMMS radio station. Other tracks include the more melodic "Here Again" and the atmospheric "Before and After," which gradually builds into a burst of power chords and heavy guitar riffs.

Rush's unique style and sound continues to evolve and push the envelope of rock into new territories, gaining legions of new fans along the way. After a four decade journey, in 2013 Rush was recognized for their immeasurable impact and influence in rock and roll and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame to the delight of fans and critics alike.

    Timeless Wavelength

Double 140g Vinyl LP In A Gatefold Sleeve

Recorded Live At Kiel Auditorium, St Louis, Missouri, Usa, February 12, 1980

Mastered At Abbey Road Studios, London

Timeless Wavelength is a high quality vinyl-only 1980 double live set from one of the
biggest rock groups in history, recorded live at Kiel Auditorium, St Louis, Missouri, USA, February 12, 1980.

Rush are Canada's biggest rock export, with millions of sales of their nineteen studio albums recorded between 1974 and the present day.
Formed in Toronto at the end of the 1960s, it was their second album Fly By Night which saw drummer Neil Peart join forces with singer / bass player Geddy Lee and guitar gunslinger Alex Lifeson on the path to rockstardom. Which came in 1976 with their fourth album 2112, the sci fi concept piece that fills side one being performed on Timeless Wavelenth in its entirety.

Rush hit the charts with 1980 smash The Spirit Of Radio from the album Permanent Waves (that year's tour is when Timeless Wavelength was recorded).
The following year saw the biggest album of their career, Moving Pictures (including the hit Tom Sawyer).
Since then they have sustained their position as one of rock's biggest bands, with millions of tickets, records and t-shirts sold -- even the kids in South Park (led by superfan Cartman) are in a Rush tribute band.

The song's themes were influenced by the growing tensions in the Cold War. The music itself continued the presence of synthesizers introduced on Signals, as well as incorporating elements of ska and reggae into their sound. Another favorite of true Rush fans, this sixth studio album, Hemispheres, once more explored fantasy and science fiction themes in Neil Peart's lyrics. The final track, the ambitious nine-and-a-half minute 'La Villa Strangiato,' was the band's first instrumental. The album peaked at #47 on the Billboard charts, and was the group's fourth consecutive gold album in the U.S., featuring the singles 'The Trees' and 'Circumstances.' Originally released in 1978, Hemispheres has now been remastered on 200-gram, heavyweight vinyl at legendary Abbey Road Studios using the Direct to Metal Mastering (DMM) audiophile copper plating process, all from original analogue masters.

    Clockwork Angels

Rush's Clockwork Angels is the renowned trio's first new collection of original material in over five years and their first studio release via Anthem/Roadrunner Records.

The recording of Clockwork Angels began in April 2010 with Grammy Award-winning producer Nick Raskulinecz - who also collaborated with the band on their last studio album, 2007's Snakes & Arrows. Rush co-produced both records. The first two songs, "Caravan" and "BU2B," were completed during that first session at Nashville's Blackbird studios and performed nightly during the wildly successful Time Machine Tour, which ran from June 2010 to June 2011. Work on Clockwork Angels resumed in the fall of 2011 at Revolution Recording in Toronto after the tour's finale, with additional strings (arranged by David Campbell) recorded at Hollywood's Ocean Way Studios in early 2012.

Lyrically, Clockwork Angels chronicles a young man's quest across a lavish and colorful world of steampunk and alchemy as he attempts to follow his dreams. The story features lost cities, pirates, anarchists, an exotic carnival, and a rigid Watchmaker who imposes precision on every aspect of daily life. The novelization of Clockwork Angels is being written by science fiction writer Kevin J. Anderson in collaboration with Rush drummer and lyricist Neil Peart.

Rush - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, equally famed for both its virtuoso musicianship and provocative songwriting.

Recently, a career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature praised the band for its continuing artistic vitality, noting that It's true that Rush doesn't mean today what it did in '76 or even '96. It may mean more. Rush's enduring pop culture relevance is perhaps best evidenced by a pair of high profile appearances - a rare national television performance and interview on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report in 2008 (the band's first TV appearance since 1975), and a pivotal role in the storyline of the 2009 hit comedy, I Love You, Man, starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segal, where the band also made a memorable cameo in the film.

Beginning with their self-titled debut album in 1974, their extraordinary body of work - which includes such formidable works as 1976's 2112, 1981's Moving Pictures, 1996's Test for Echo, 2002's Vapor Trails and the latest studio album Snakes & Arrows, made a triumphant debut on the Billboard 200 upon its initial release in 2007, entering the chart in the #3 spot. The album's success marked Rush's highest chart debut since 1993, as well as the group's eleventh top ten album in the U.S. Rush has sold more than 40 million records worldwide and garnered untold legions of devoted and admiring fans. According to the RIAA, Rush's sales statistics place RUSH third behind The Beatles and The Rolling Stones for the most consecutive gold or platinum studio albums by a rock band.

    Hold Your Fire

    200 Gram Vinyl

Remastered At Abbey Road Studios Using The Direct To Metal Mastering Audiophile Copper Plating Process, All From Original Analogue Masters

Hold Your Fire is an album in the purest sense; infinitely greater than the sum of its parts, it gradually draws in the listener by slowly revealing its nuances and secrets. While the use of keyboards is still overwhelming at times, Geddy Lee employs lush textures which, when coupled with a greater rhythmic and melodic presence from guitarist Alex Lifeson, results in a far warmer sound than in recent efforts. Of course, drummer Neil Peart is as inventive and exciting as ever, while his lyrics focus on the various elements (earth, air, water, fire) for much of the album. Opener Force Ten is the band's most immediate number in years, and other early favorites such as Time Stand Still and Turn the Page soon give way to the darker mysteries of Prime Mover and Tai Shan. The multifaceted Lock and Key is quintessential Rush, and sets the stage for the album's climax with the sheer beauty of Mission. As was the case with 1976's 2112 and 1981's Moving Pictures, Rush always seem to produce some of their best work at the end of each four-album cycle, and Hold Your Fire is no exception.

Power Windows introduced more keyboard synthesizers into the band's sound. The Big Money and Mystic Rhythms were both made into music videos featured in MTV's rotation at the time. This was the era in which the band were expanding into new directions from their progressive rock base, and they had on their then recent albums tightened up their sidelong suites and rhythmic abstractions into balled-up song fists, art-pop blasts of angular, slashing guitar, spatial keyboards and hyperpercussion, all resolved with forthright melodic sense

Recorded at the Electric Ladyland Studios in New York City, in December 1974 in preparation for their first US tour, this sublime Rush performance was given in front of an audience of 8-12 people in the small studio, and thus provides a fine example of this remarkable band's early live sound.

This was also the earliest recording made with Neil Peart on drums, Peart having replaced their former skins-man John Rutsy, a few months before this show. They perform material from their first album and new songs from the soon to be released Fly by Night LP. The show was undertaken to provide a live broadcast for FM Radio, and was transmitted across the airwaves prior to the release of Fly by Night.
We get a rare treat in Working Man, when Alex delivers a guitar solo outside of the normal structure of the song.

Apparently, several mics were set up around the studio, with only a very basic soundboard feed. The result is a very well-mixed sound - so much so, in places it sounds as though its lifted direct from the first album.

    Counterparts

    200 Gram Vinyl LP

Features Etched Designs on Side D of the Album

By 1993, alternative rock had arrived in a big way, and surprisingly, Canadian veterans Rush were game, releasing their most honest and organic rock & roll record in over a decade with Counterparts. Opener Animate is straightforward enough, but doesn't even hint at the guitar ferocity and lyrical angst of Stick it Out, a song which undoubtedly polarizes Rush fans to this day.

Intellectual melodic rockers like Cut to the Chase, At the Speed of Love, and Everyday Glory are also present, but diversity continues to rule the day with Geddy Lee's bass taking charge on the amazingly somber Double Agent and the giddy instrumental Leave That Thing Alone. Pure hard rock resurfaces on Cold Fire, but it is the largely acoustic Nobody's Hero which provides the album's most gripping moment with an impassioned plea for HIV consciousness and understanding.

    Test For Echo

    200 Gram Vinyl LP

Features Etched Designs on Side D of the Album

Test for Echo is the sixteenth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1996. It marks the final Rush work prior to the tragic events in Neil Peart's life that put the band on hiatus for several years. He recorded a majority of his drum tracks for the album using traditional grip, after receiving drum lessons from jazz instructor Freddie Gruber.

After flirting with alternative rock on Counterparts, Rush returns to classic progressive rock on Test for Echo. Cutting back many of the AOR production flourishes that hampered most of their late-'80s and early-'90s releases, the band concentrates on the sounds and styles that made albums like Moving Pictures huge successes in the late '70s and early '80s. Test for Echo is all instrumental gymnastics and convoluted song structures, all of which demonstrate each member's skills. And the key to the album is the individual performances.

The title track reached #1 on the mainstream rock chart. Driven became a bass showcase for Geddy Lee during live performances, while Resist was rearranged as an acoustic song on the Vapor Trails and R30 tours. Since then, the band has not performed any tracks from the album in concert.
