Needle PawNai Palm, lead singer and composer of R&B future soul outfit Hiatus Kaiyote, releases her first solo album Needle Paw. Comprised almost entirely of her guitar playing and vocal arrangements, Needle Paw is Nai Palm's self-imposed challenge to explore the potential for immortality and timelessness within her music by stripping away the produced layers to focus on the element that is closest to the source of the human soul, the voice.
Needle Paw is the rawest glimpse into Nai Palm's musical world. It is dreamlike, honest, and beautifully transparent, revealing her musical ruminations to listeners with a courageous vulnerability and artistic generosity.LP 1

Genius Loves Company (10th Anniversary) (Awaiting Repress)Upon its release in 2004, few could have predicted the extraordinary, game-changing effect that Ray Charles’ final recording would have on both his career and the industry as a whole. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the legend’s milestone recording, Concord/Hear Music will release a special 2LP, 45RPM, 180-gram Vinyl Edition.
One of Charles’ most inspirational and historically significant albums, Genius Loves Company captures the genius of the music icon in his last studio recording pairing him with legendary guest artists including Norah Jones, Diana Krall, James Taylor, Elton John, Willie Nelson and Bonnie Raitt to name a few. The album went on to receive an astounding 8 GRAMMY® Awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. To help launch a then-groundbreaking consumer marketing campaign, Genius Loves Company was tapped as the first original release through the Starbucks Hear Music imprint in conjunction with Concord Music Group. Since its release on August 31st, 2004, Genius Loves Company has been certified multi-platinum with worldwide sales in excess of 5 million copies.
Produced by John Burk, Concord Music Group’s chief creative officer, and co-produced by the legendary Phil Ramone, Genius Loves Company garnered critical acclaim upon its release. NPR All Things Considered hailed, “It’s got flashes of fire you wouldn’t expect from such a setting, gems of phrasing that remind you how Ray Charles transformed the wreckage of heartbreak into poignant sound,” and Rolling Stone added, “the tone is reverential and warm, as the Genius sings…”
“Ray was shocked that these people wanted to sing with him,” recalls Ray Charles Foundation president Valerie Ervin. “He just didn’t understand the magnitude of where he was in the industry. As weak as he became…he made sure he gave his best for every artist that was there for him.”
“Ray Charles was one of those rare artists who, throughout his incredible career, had far-reaching impact that forever changed the conventions of popular music as well as the music business,” said Concord Music Group chief creative officer John Burk. “Looking back at the last 10 years, it’s clear that this album was certainly no exception. We are humbled, honored and blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such a musical giant, and we are eternally grateful to Ray for elevating both Concord Records and Hear Music to new heights, far beyond our wildest dreams ten years ago.”1. Marvin Gaye - Collected180-Gram Audiophile Vinyl
High-Quality PVC Protective Sleeve
4-Page Booklet With Liner Notes And Photos
Featuring ''Sexual Healing'', ''What's Going' On'' And ''Ain't No Mountain High Enough''
Motown released the first Marvin Gaye record in 1961 ''(I'm Afraid) The Masquerade Is Over'', a single intended for (radio) promotion from the singer's debut album. This was followed up by the officially released ''Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide'' a week later. Gaye scored his first real hit with ''Stubborn Kind of Fellow'' in 1962, which he had co-written himself, joking about his alleged stubbornness. The foundations were now laid for an enormous series of chart successes: ''Pride And Joy'', ''Can I Get A Witness'', ''How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)'' and ''Ain't That Peculiar'' are all Motown classics from 1963-1965 which are still being regularly played today after all these years.
The duets he recorded with Kim Weston (''It Takes Two'') and especially Tammi Terrell were certainly at least as good.
He scored his biggest ever hit with ''I Heard It Through The Grapevine'' in 1968. The ''What's Going On'' from the same named album became a number 1 hit in the USA and the album was received as a masterpiece everywhere and is now regarded as one of the most important records in pop history. In 1973, the artistically and commercially very successful, Let's Get It On album was mainly a musical ode to Marvin's love for his new muse Janis Hunter. The success enjoyed by ''Sexual Healing'' and the album which was released at the end of 1982, traveled with him. Suddenly Gaye, who had started to increasingly be forgotten about, was a celebrated star again and this was certainly a position the singer reveled in.
The pop world lost one of the most important soul singers ever to grace the world on 1st April 1984. He has left behind a series of fantastic hits plus a big handful of tracks which deserve the title of masterpiece, all COLLECTED on this album.LP 1

EarthEETHEESatisfaction’s EarthEE is the follow up to awE naturalE, the alternative R&B group’s critically acclaimed debut. EarthEE was recorded in Seattle and Brooklyn, and features guest appearances from Shabazz Palaces, Meshell Ndegeocello, Porter Ray and Taylor Brown. “Igbo beaded mail, Dinkan Scarification, Ashanti repetitive leaping. It all
bounces. So too should you"
Neo-Ancient Nubian aphorism.
Once in Time, in an emerald veld of near solitude, Two met.
One Cat and One Stas. Born under different signs. Destined to shine under
the same moons.
They agreed, upon meeting, that the old force fields rooted in sonics were
necessary once again.
They commenced to make.
It was cold out. They made. It became warmer. They continued. The orb
shone from above with intensity. They continued to make. The trees shifted
hues and shed...They made.
In this din, this mantra of making, they became Sisters of a very specific rite.
Ethereal. The foundation of empires lost and regained.
In this din the force field grew.
The first time I saw them they glowed. They were palpable amongst the flat.
Regal in a manner that is now mostly forgotten.
Not generic in that description either. Specific.
As in the Queens of some Where. The Queens of some Thing.
Sorceress Queens who dealt in aural incantation architecture.
Possessors of keys to deeper feelings. Unlockers of healing.
I became a devotee to the sonic altars they had, and continue to construct.
One Cat. One Stas. Past Lovers. Present Friends. Future Deities.
THEESatisfaction. Exalted heavenward (outward, spaceward) upon the aurally
blood price of heavily scented continuum.
They made me for you.
P.S. Change is inevitable and necessary. It is the precursor to transcendence.

Bo Diddley’s Masterwork Album!
First Time Official Audiophile Vinyl – Stunning First Time Gatefold Cover
Mastered From The Authorized Chess Records Mono Tapes By Joe Reagoso
Bo Diddley (Elias McDaniel) was truly an American original. There will never be another Bo Diddley nor anyone in the music industry who could influence generations upon generations of aspiring rock ’n rollers like Bo Diddley has and continues to this day, even years after his short time on earth.
Celebrating six decades in the music business, this Mississippian native initially captivated millions of kids in the fifties with his first recordings like Bo Diddley and Say Man. He drove the rockers mad with his famous guitar riffs and boogie beat, filled with poetic lyrics and a thrilling presence on the stage.
Bringing his original “Bo Diddley Beat” to Chess Records in early 1955, the Chicago based label and the pioneer rocker hit a goldmine immediately with his arsenal of tunes that he presented to Phil and Leonard Chess. A lot of these great songs became top charting singles which culminated in his masterwork album Go! Bo Diddley.
Kicking things off with one of his finest smash hits Cracking Up, Bo roars through a treasure trove of 11 more champions which made this one of the most important and emulated albums of all time. The album features classic gems like his classics Dearest Darling, Say Man, Don’t Let It Go and The Clock Struck Twelve. Noted for his stellar guitar work, pretty much introducing his Bo Diddley Beat riff to a whole new generation of guitar players, Go! Bo Diddley was truly a primer for a ton of rock and blues artists for years like Eric Burdon and The Animals, George Thorogood, Buddy Holly, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and The Yardbirds.
Bo Diddley opened the doors for millions of music fans around the world to enjoy rock and blues, making him along with Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and Little Richard as one of the first pioneers of the popular recording business that we all enjoy to this day.
Friday Music is no stranger to the music of the legendary Chess Records arsenal of fine recordings. That is why we are so very proud to announce our first installment in The Bo Diddley/Friday Music 180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl Series with his legendary masterpiece Go! Bo Diddley.

I'll Find A WayFeatures Special Guests: Casey Dienel of White Hinterland, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs, Patty Griffin, Sam Amidon, And Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond
Produced by Justin Vernon (Bon Iver, Kathleen Edwards), I’ll Find a Way is a unique collaboration between one of popular music’s longest-running acts and one of its fastest-rising stars. Known primarily for his work in the indie and folk realms, the Bon Iver frontman proved a perfect fit to work with the Blind Boys, exhibiting a deep knowledge and appreciation of gospel music. Vernon, and old friend and band mate Phil Cook (Megafaun, The Shouting Matches) corralled a lively backing band for the album and hand-picked a range of songs for the Blind Boys to sing. I’ll Find a Way features some of the Blind Boys’ most fervent vocals as well as contributions by a new generation of Blind Boys fans - Sam Amidon, Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond, Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs, Casey Dienel of White Hinterland, Patty Griffin and Justin Vernon himself. The result is a rousing collection of gospel songs, new and old, that address life’s most desperate hours but also savor the triumphs and reassurances of faith.
I’ll Find a Way represents a strong new chapter for the Blind Boys of Alabama, whose career stretches back more than seventy years. Formed in the late 1930s at the Alabama Institute for the Negro Blind in Talladega, the group has harmonized throughout the turbulent twentieth century and well into the twenty-first: from Jim Crow through Civil Rights and into the Obama era. They have, however, enjoyed some of their biggest and most rousing successes in the last ten years, during which they’ve won five Grammys, four Gospel Music Awards and multiple invitations to sing at the White House.
For I’ll Find a Way, their ninth studio album of the twenty-first century, the Blind Boys of Alabama - which includes Jimmy Carter, Eric “Ricky” McKinnie, Joey Williams, Tracy Pierce, Ben Moore and newest addition Paul Beasley - decamped to the wintry wild of rural Wisconsin to record at Vernon’s April Base studio. Known primarily for his work in the indie and folk realms, the Bon Iver frontman proved a perfect fit to work with the Blind Boys, exhibiting a deep knowledge and appreciation of gospel music.
“It’s not just singing,” explains the 82-year-old Carter. “We’re bringing the message to the people, and that message is the good news of God. We sing from the heart, and what comes from the heart reaches the heart. If you have any feeling in you, you will feel the Blind Boys.”1. God Put A Rainbow In The Cloud
